Chapter 224: The Siege

Facing the Primordial Spear, even Sosa did not dare to be careless. He raised his hand to block while stepping back hastily. However, speed was not his forte. Even without the boost from the New World, Sosa’s prediction was still somewhat off. His large hand had yet to intercept in time, and the black light feathers had already plunged into his chest.

Sosa grunted, his face turning a peculiar color as he swayed, but he quickly recovered.

Suppressing his injuries, Sosa ignored Qian Ye and instead looked at Howard, growling, “Seeking death!” With a step, he crossed to Howard, delivering a heavy punch aimed at Howard’s head and chest.

Howard chuckled, “That’s not very sporting.” In his hand appeared a long staff, which he slammed into the ground, causing a cloud of blood to rise.

Under the gravitational pull of Sosa’s fist, the blood cloud condensed into a single droplet, then compressed into a barely perceptible crystal. But Howard was nowhere to be seen.

Sosa scanned the surroundings, spotting Howard appearing a hundred meters away. He snorted, “You bloodsuckers only know how to hide and sneak. Howard, aren’t you supposed to be a second-generation ancestor? Do you only know how to run?”

“Running takes effort too. I might not be able to escape many more times. Want to try and catch me?”

Sosa snorted, not responding. Howard used his essence blood to resist Sosa’s gravitational pull, allowing his body to escape. Each use had its cost, but Sosa did not underestimate him. Howard had been an ancestor for thousands of years, amassing a vast accumulation. Despite his current severe injuries, no one knew how many times he could still flee.

Seeing Howard still evading, Sosa leaped into the air, heading straight for Qian Ye. Qian Ye naturally wouldn’t let him get close, dodging and creating distance.

However, Sosa let out a sinister laugh as his body expanded again, growing another meter taller. He made a grasping motion, and an invisible gravitational force fell on Qian Ye. With a pull, Qian Ye was not only pulled closer but also continuously dragged towards Sosa.

Simultaneously, Sosa pressed his left hand, generating a repulsive force that sent Ye Pupil tumbling away. As for Howard, Sosa did not even give him a glance.

Once Qian Ye was within reach, Sosa delivered a powerful punch, summoning a massive, dark green fist that smashed directly towards Qian Ye.

Qian Ye held his blue-gold sword horizontally, pressing his left hand on the spine of the sword, using it as a shield to block the green giant fist.

Qian Ye was retreating, but his retreat suddenly slowed. Sosa’s punch produced two opposing forces, one pulling Qian Ye, making escape impossible.

As a result, Qian Ye’s retreat almost halted, and he was solidly hit by the giant fist!

A muffled thud, and Qian Ye was sent flying a hundred meters, like a cannonball crashing into the ground, leaving a deep furrow in the hard rock.

Qian Ye struggled to his feet, coughing up a mouthful of blood. This punch was incredibly powerful, almost impossible to counter. Suffering a direct hit from a great lord, the experience was utterly unbearable, even for an ancient blood clan constitution.

Sosa did not relent, leaping a hundred meters, descending like a meteor, slamming Qian Ye back into the ground. But this time, he grunted, rising with a new wound across his chest, not large but deep, cutting through his ribs.

This time, Qian Ye climbed out of the pit, his movements visibly slower, having suffered two heavy blows, taking a toll on him.

But Sosa was even more surprised, saying, “Ordinary dukes can’t withstand two hits from me, let alone injure me. It seems Brox losing to you was not unjust.”

Qian Ye swayed, steadying himself, and his aura began to recover.

Sosa did not rush to kill but instead observed Qian Ye, saying, “Boiling Blood. Your clan’s ability is useful, but it makes you lose faster. Blood energy isn’t infinite.”

Though this was true, Sosa thought for a moment and added, “No, you have the Black Book. That’s why I came for you. So, no more rest for you. Let’s beat you half-dead first.”

He took a step forward, delivering another identical blow.

Suddenly, a tall blood clan figure appeared behind Qian Ye. The shadow merged with Qian Ye, synchronizing their movements. Qian Ye held his sword, pointing it skyward, meeting Sosa’s giant palm.

This time, Qian Ye’s resistance was unexpectedly strong. Sosa failed to crush Qian Ye into the ground, and his hand was pierced by the sword once again.

Sosa withdrew his hand, and Qian Ye seized the chance to teleport, putting a hundred meters between them. But this distance was insufficient against a great lord.

Sosa covered the distance in one stride, waving his hand, and the gravitational field extended to a hundred meters, grabbing Qian Ye and pulling him out of the teleportation.

But as Sosa prepared to strike again, the blood clan shadow synchronizing with Qian Ye suddenly expanded and was torn apart by the gravity. Qian Ye, freed from the restraint, shot away, firing a Primordial Spear.

Sosa, who had already suffered twice from this, knew he couldn’t dodge and decided to take the hit.

Seemingly unfazed, Sosa turned to Howard, saying, “Truly, the Dark Gospel. You can interfere like this. It seems I must kill you first.”

The blood-colored shadow was Howard’s secret technique, enhancing Qian Ye’s power and using itself as bait to trick Sosa’s control. These abilities were tailor-made for Sosa’s current battle, giving Qian Ye the capability to fight back.

Qian Ye’s blue-gold blood sword, also from Howard, could break through the werewolf great lord’s defenses, inflicting wounds on Sosa. Even small cuts, like mosquito bites, were annoying.

Seeing Sosa approaching, Howard remained calm, waving his staff. Two blood clan girl shadows appeared behind Qian Ye, merging with him.

“The Blood Twins were originally prepared for you, but I can’t use them now. I’ll let Qian Ye stand in for me, so you can feel their power.”

Ignoring Howard, Sosa swung his hand, aiming a blow at him. Howard used a drop of essence blood to escape, avoiding Sosa’s attack.

From a distance, Qian Ye saw Sosa’s carelessness, providing an opportunity to use the primordial spear. Seizing the moment, he retrieved Dragon’s Burial, spreading his wings, and fired a blast of dawn-powered primordial energy, hitting Sosa in the back.

The blast sent Sosa reeling, a gaping wound opening on his back, with the dawn energy battling the green energy, expanding the wound.

Though the wound would be critical for other dukes, it was insignificant on Sosa’s massive frame. He ignored Howard, turning to Qian Ye, eyes blazing with fury.

With a roar, Sosa enveloped himself in a layer of green armor, charging at Qian Ye. Before he reached, the gravitational field already pinned Qian Ye in place. Qian Ye drew his blue-gold sword, slashing at Sosa’s green fist.

The twin girls, one on each side, pushed against the gravitational field, creating space for Qian Ye to unleash his full strength.

Ignoring the need to split the chaotic primordial energy into dark gold blood and dawn, Qian Ye channeled it directly into the blue-gold sword, the blade glowing, dimming its original luster.

Meanwhile, Qian Ye’s bones creaked as he summoned the mountain-breaking strength taught by the Extreme King, reaching its peak in an instant. When the sword struck, it carried immense power!

The blue-gold blood sword sliced through Sosa’s giant fist, dispersing the green primordial energy like melting ice, rapidly dissipating.

Qian Ye, surprised, found the once-overwhelming punch shattered. Sosa, face contorted, asked, “What kind of primordial energy is this?”

The primordial energy on the blue-gold blade was murky, even Sosa couldn’t discern it. A small amount of gray vapor annihilated a significant portion of Sosa’s green energy. In his long years of battles, Sosa had never seen such primordial energy.

Naturally, Qian Ye did not answer, swinging his sword. The twin girls mimicked his action, boosting his power by at least thirty percent.

Sosa abandoned remote attacks, closing the distance in one step, striking Qian Ye with his bare hands.

Blade met palm, and Qian Ye was sent flying again, only a dozen meters this time. Sosa did not pursue, frowning as he examined a deep cut on his hand.

The gray vapor spreading from the wound was annihilating his flesh and energy, widening the injury.

Sosa found it unbelievable. He was a great lord, with primordial energy nearing the dark source. Yet, in the presence of the mysterious gray energy, his own energy behaved like a novice, crumbling. Even Ye Pupil’s dark gold blood or Qian Ye’s dawn energy could only put him at a disadvantage.

A thought struck Sosa: perhaps such primordial energy existed on the Holy Mountain?

Just then, he sensed danger, turning to see a wave of bladed light rushing towards him.

Was Ye Pupil already recovered?

Sosa roared, his green armor thickening, throwing punches at the bladed light. Though fierce, his attacks did not weaken the Dream Shattering Blade as effectively as Brox’s Wall of Sighs.

The Wall of Sighs was like the bloodsucker’s life-steal ability among the demon race. For Brox, the disadvantage was in his tier, while for Sosa, it was the lack of sufficiently ranked techniques to counter the Dream Shattering Blade.

Despite his relentless assault, Sosa only halved the bladed light, the remainder shredding his green armor, before a hidden blade flashed, slicing his chest!

Sosa looked down, his battle robe torn, but his skin unharmed. However, the needle-like pain indicated a deeper, more serious injury.

About to suppress the injury, Sosa was hit by a sharp pain, a black light feather exploding inside him, unleashing the suppressed Primordial Spear, severely damaging several organs.

The sudden explosion shocked Sosa, realizing his primordial energy had unknowingly dropped by ten percent.

Upon further inspection, Sosa discovered a strange toxin silently eroding his energy. If not for the explosion, he wouldn’t have noticed the toxin until later.

Realizing the poison, Sosa roared, “Howard! Using such despicable means?”

Howard laughed, “I have many tricks, especially for you. This is just one of them. Survive today, and you’ll see more!”
