In the land of Yong Lu, the city of Bi Bo.
The Duke’s mansion had been renovated and expanded, nearly doubling in size. The city was now a vast construction site, with the old walls preserved but the gates removed. Outside the old city, a new airship landing field had just started construction, and an even larger one was already being planned.
Surveying teams could be seen everywhere, marking out plots, and the land prices soared by the minute.
The arrival of the Bright Sun had completely transformed the environment of Yong Lu, making it one of the continents with the best climate and origin power. The first city in Evernight where all races lived equally, Bi Bo, was chosen by Qian Ye as the capital of the entire Evernight Dynasty and the seat of the Evernight Parliament.
Naturally, the powerful figures of all races sought to acquire land in Bi Bo, driving up the land prices.
Qian Ye stood on the top floor of the Duke’s mansion, looking down at the bustling city, and said to Ye Pang with a smile, “Perhaps soon, this lake will become the inner lake of Bi Bo City!”
Ye Pang smiled, a response to the cold joke. Qian Ye did not think that his words would soon become reality.
In the void, the Holy Mountain appeared, and several figures flew towards the Duke’s mansion.
Qian Ye smiled, “With the Holy Mountain, traveling back and forth has become much more convenient.”
Ye Pang sighed, “Using the Evernight Holy Mountain as a transport ship for people, if those early Holy Mountains knew, they would probably be so angry that they would come back to life.”
Qian Ye laughed, “In the future, there will be many similar half-plane weapons like the Holy Mountain.”
“Who said that?”
“An Wen.”
“That guy, can he handle so much work?”
“Who knows? He said that after the computer is built, he could accomplish in a year what used to take decades.”
“Isn’t he here?”
Several people appeared on the platform, and as Qian Ye was about to walk over, he suddenly felt a twinge and asked them to wait, then his figure flickered and he appeared in the void above.
In the void, a small boat floated, with a person standing at the bow.
Qian Ye stepped into the boat and bowed, “King Qing Yang.”
Zhang Boqian turned around, looking Qian Yi up and down, a hint of a smile in his eyes, “Good! Xi Tang really didn’t misjudge you. I never thought such a realm existed until I saw you.”
Zhang Boqian pointed to the small boat, “This boat was left by the old king. He took me to the Eastern Sea to fish. I never thought the boat would still be here, though the times have changed. If he could see today, he would be so happy.”
Without waiting for Qian Ye to respond, Zhang Boqian continued, “But if the old king were still here, we wouldn’t have the current situation. It’s just fate, I suppose.”
“Is there really such a thing as fate?” Qian Ye asked suddenly.
“When Zining and the others fully decipher the Heavenly Mechanism Art given by the Immortal Heaven and understand all its mysteries, perhaps we will know what fate truly is.”
Qian Ye nodded, “Is King Qing Yang leaving?”
Zhang Boqian spoke slowly, “I want to go to the Immortal Heaven and see how powerful those great beings are. I also want to see who these enemies are that even the Dao Court struggles to deal with. After I leave, I entrust the Zhang family members left in Evernight to you.”
Zhang Boqian then handed Qian Ye a piece of paper, “This is the list of humans preparing to go to the Immortal Heaven.”
The list contained names from various families, and Qian Ye, upon receiving it, was surprised, “The Zhao, Bai, and Li families are also going to the Immortal Heaven?”
“Zhao Li wants to see their ancestral lands, and the Bai family is probably looking for development opportunities. Also, Jun Du told me to tell you that his chance to become a Heavenly King is in the Immortal Heaven, so don’t worry about anything.”
Qian Ye nodded and put away the list.
Zhang Boqian waved his hand and steered the boat deeper into the void.
Qian Ye watched until the boat and person disappeared completely before returning to the Duke’s mansion.
Among the crowd, An Wen came forward first, handing Qian Ye a thick plan, “This is my next plan, please review it, Your Majesty.”
Qian Ye opened it and looked through each item, unsure of how to evaluate it.
Building a new computer based on the Heavenly Mechanism Art was fine, but the cost seemed dizzying, as if the decimal point was misplaced, shifting two places to the right.
Seeing Qian Ye’s displeased expression, An Wen quickly explained, “It’s just starting, and any overruns will only appear later. Don’t worry, Your Majesty.”
Qian Ye’s face darkened even further.
Once the new computer was built, the long-term task would be to re-analyze the Heavenly Mechanism Art, which was understandable. However, the first temporary task was to reposition the remaining 24 continents of Evernight, retaining necessary upper continents to block the Firestorm while improving the environment of each landmass.
This plan alone was grand in scale.
The second task was to create a super-sized version of the floating land, or rather, a transport continent, capable of moving over a hundred million people at once.
As for the third task…
Qian Ye didn’t want to look further, his mind occupied with one thought: Where will the money come from?
And he asked exactly that.
An Wen’s reply was simple, “The Parliament will provide it!”
“But does the Parliament have so much money?”
“That’s the Parliament’s problem,” An Wen answered matter-of-factly.
Qian Ye took a deep breath, suppressing the chaotic origin power, and called over King Linjiang. King Linjiang was now in charge of the internal operations of the Parliament and presented two plans led by the Parliament.
The first was exploration and development, targeting the New World and the Great Vortex. These two worlds were far from fully explored, and the complete reconciliation between Evernight and the Empire provided an opportunity to fully explore the New World.
“I believe that, with the exploration of the New World and the Great Vortex, combined with the soon-to-be-completed computer, we will soon have the strength to defend ourselves,” King Linjiang said meaningfully.
The second plan was to establish two academies. One would promote An Wen’s research methods and systems, enrolling thirty thousand students per year. The other would be an expanded version of the Heavenly Mechanism Pavilion, teaching the Heavenly Mechanism Art to the Sacred Race of Evernight.
Once these academies were established, within a century, they would completely transform Evernight.
Lastly, the selection of the new Emperor of the Empire. Due to the fall of the Emperor Hao, and the lack of prestige and strength of the princes and princesses, most of whom would go to the New World, two candidates were proposed after considering the Imperial bloodline. One was King Linjiang, and the other was Qian Ye.
Naturally, Qian Ye did not consider the Imperial throne, so King Linjiang would be the next Emperor. The Empire’s territory would consist of five continents, with one each ceded by the Dark Races and the Blood Clan to the human race, as a price for resolving generations of hatred.
Yong Lu and the continents ceded by the werewolves and arachnids would be Qian Ye’s direct territories. Additionally, the fleets directly under the Parliament and the Imperial Guard Fleet would be concentrated here, controlled by Ye Pang. Any rebellion by any race could be easily suppressed by sending the fleet, without Qian Ye needing to act personally.
The human race gained vast new lands, and their lifespans increased, leading to a significant increase in population, further solidifying their advantage in the Evernight world. The Dark Races, in the next thousand years, would focus on breaking the shackles of their bloodlines, a goal that required the help of the human race.
Thus, the new order of Evernight was formed.
After reading the report from King Linjiang, Qian Ye was quite satisfied.
At this moment, the Spider Queen’s voice echoed in the air, “The new floating war city, Doom’s Capital, is ready. It will start construction once the Bright Sun leaves, but it needs your final confirmation, Your Majesty.”
“Doom’s Capital?” Qian Ye didn’t recall seeing any plans for a floating war city.
“Yes, it is the latest and final advanced version of the half-plane weapon. It will be your exclusive flagship, a floating war city unlike any other that has ever existed and will never exist again!”
“Where is it? I want to see it.”
“Alright, I will come to pick you up at this time tomorrow,” the Spider Queen said, then turned and left.
Qian Ye was puzzled about where this Doom’s Capital came from.
The next day, the Spider Queen led Qian Ye and Ye Pang to her flagship. After a half-day voyage, they arrived before a massive structure.
Qian Ye knew immediately that the ten-thousand-meter-long, fleshy creature was the Sky Whale.
The Sky Whale roared, “You won’t trick me again! Pulling those three continents has worn me out, and now you want to build a city on my back? Forget it, no way!”
A young girl, with her hands behind her back, floated before the Sky Whale, “We’re not tricking you!”
She was extremely sweet-looking, but exuded a terrifying aura that could withstand the Sky Whale’s roar. She was Little Zhu Ji.
“The formula you showed me was wrong!”
“Of course it wasn’t wrong,” Little Zhu Ji, smiling like a flower, reached out and grabbed An Wen, who was hiding far away, and placed him before the Sky Whale, “Do the calculation for him again!”
“This is the seventh time!” An Wen protested. But Zhu Ji immediately smacked him on the back of the head, silencing his protests.
An Wen obediently displayed the formula, which covered several meters and contained hundreds of thousands of characters.
The Sky Whale brought hundreds of eyes to view it from all angles.
An Wen waited patiently.
Finally, the Sky Whale, reluctantly, said, “Fine, this formula seems to be correct.”
“Of course, no one in Evernight can question my math,” An Wen said, putting away the formula. Though this formula was different from the previous six, even An Wen himself didn’t understand it.
A random arrangement of symbols, how could An Wen possibly understand it?
“Alright, you’re done,” Zhu Ji picked up An Wen and threw him several kilometers away.
She then said to the Sky Whale, “You see, building a city on you is no burden, and it has many benefits!”
“What benefits?”
“There will be an entire city of people working for you. You can spy on their lives, and you’ll never be bored.”
“…That makes sense,” the Sky Whale pondered.
“Also, you can keep growing, and the city will remain the same size, so you won’t even feel its weight in the future.”
“Sounds good.”
Qian Ye wanted to cover his face, realizing the Sky Whale had no idea that cities could expand.
But the Sky Whale had a question, “In the void, what do I eat to keep growing?”
“Don’t worry about food!” Little Zhu Ji immediately said, “All those people in the city are for feeding you. You don’t need to do anything, just open your mouth, and they will feed you fish!”
The Sky Whale’s many eyes widened, “Really?!”
Little Zhu Ji was startled but replied boldly, “Of course!”
“Deal!” The Sky Whale became very agreeable.
After the agreement, the Sky Whale seemed content, reflecting, “Back when I lay in the Eastern Sea, even eating was difficult. My mouth was to the north, and the fish, being clever, gathered in the south. I could only open my mouth wide and hope some fish would swim in.”
Qian Ye understood why the Sky Whale grew so large.
So, Doom’s Capital was to be built on the Sky Whale’s back, a brilliant idea. But Little Zhu Ji had taken care of it without Qian Ye’s involvement.
One year later.
Qian Ye stood on the platform, overlooking the endless waves, watching the floating ships crisscross the sky and lake.
The Bright Sun had departed, and Evernight was flourishing, as seen before him. The new expeditionary force had just entered the New World, and everything seemed to be getting better.
The blood feud between Evernight and Dawn still existed in the hearts of many, but with the passing of generations, the good might replace the hate, becoming new memories.
Reflecting on his life, Qian Ye said, “My path is to wish that all sentient beings find their place.”
Thus, his heart was at peace.
Suddenly, a loud laugh broke the serene atmosphere.
From afar, Song Zining said, “What ‘all sentient beings find their place’ sounds nice! You just don’t want to work and prefer to spend your days with Ye Pang.”
Qian Ye was furious, “You talk too much! Go cook dinner now!”
“It’s already done.”
“So fast?”
“Look who I am! Is cooking really that hard?”
Qian Ye went inside and saw a table full of dishes, feeling pleased, and called Ye Pang to sit down.
Ye Pang, with a protruding belly, looked lazy.
Song Zining washed his hands and sat down, grumbling, “I’ve cultivated the Three Thousand Leaf Technique for this?”
Qian Ye placed a whole fish in front of Ye Pang, smiling, “No choice, only your technique can manage so many pots at once.”
Song Zining huffed, glancing at Ye Pang’s belly, “How many months left?”
“Three months.”
“Almost there, I need to prepare a gift.”
Ye Pang, caressing her belly, smiled, “You don’t need to prepare anything, just be the child’s teacher.”
Song Zining’s face changed, “Never!”
Qian Ye didn’t press, “Why are you being so eager today, what do you want?”
Song Zining rubbed his hands, “I have a request…”
“If it’s an unpleasing request, don’t say it.” Qian Ye, while serving Ye Pang, ate his meal, clearly uninterested.
“Let me speak first.”
“Tell me the benefit first.”
“What benefit do you want?”
Qian Ye pointed to Ye Pang’s belly, “Be the child’s teacher until he is eighteen.”
“Impossible!” Song Zining jumped up.
“Alright, let’s eat.” Qian Ye didn’t care.
Song Zining grew increasingly restless, finally gritting his teeth, “I can agree, but you must help me.”
“You agree first, then I’ll listen to your request and consider whether to help.”
Such harsh conditions made Song Zining clench his teeth. After a long internal struggle, he sighed, “Ah, I only have this one weakness! Curiosity kills, I agree!”
Qian Ye’s eyes lit up, grinning, “Well, what do you want?”
Song Zining, obviously eager, leaned in, “What is the next realm after the Four Pillars of Destiny in the Great Derivation Heavenly Mechanism Art?”
Qian Ye pondered.
Song Zining leaned closer, full of anticipation.
Qian Ye smiled brightly, “Guess!”
