Carol’s words were like a sudden awakening to those in a dream.
Ordinary airships cannot enter the New World because their critical power systems are extremely fragile and cannot withstand the erosion of the bizarre original force for long. The environment there is even more perilous than the Neutral Grounds, and only the most robust and durable old models can operate. Cargo trucks might manage, but airships would be scrapped after a week. Additionally, there is the matter of original force adaptability; even without considering material wear, whether the original force arrays can function is a question in itself.
However, the Hall of Heroes is different. Its body is made from the remains of a Void Beast, which should be able to endure the New World’s conditions. Moreover, due to the residual will, the dragon-ship can form a defensive layer externally, isolating the strange original force that erodes its cannons and other internal equipment, as well as affecting the original force arrays.
Perhaps, it could be worth a try?
At noon the next day, during the most stable period of the New World’s original force, almost all the strong warriors under Qian Ye’s command gathered outside the “Gate.” Many chieftains and priests from the werewolf tribes also came to witness this historic moment.
Qian Ye stood on a high platform, flanked by Duke Windswift and Carol. Duke Windswift, who was recuperating, also rushed over upon hearing the news. On the lower platform, werewolf warriors filled the space, with nearly half of them being completely new faces. Qian Ye did not recognize any of them, but each one exuded powerful auras, surpassing those of the Emerald Sea werewolves.
These werewolf warriors hailed from the Windswift territory and were among the key figures. This time, Duke Windswift brought them to meet Qian Ye and to pledge their loyalty to him.
An attendant stepped onto the platform and whispered to Qian Ye, “My lord, it’s time.”
Qian Ye nodded and pointed to the Gate. Immediately, sirens blared, steam billowed from the power towers, and outer turrets rotated, aiming in all directions, initiating full alert.
A shadow appeared in the sky, growing larger and larger until the massive body of the Hall of Heroes revealed itself, slowly descending.
Even those who had seen the Hall of Heroes before felt a sense of awe. The sight of a city floating in the sky was truly overwhelming.
The werewolves from the Emerald Sea were relatively composed, but the chieftains and priests from the Windswift territory were left dumbfounded. They had never seen anything like it. Some of the older priests, in their confusion, even began to kneel and pray to the Hall of Heroes.
Many of the Emerald Sea priests looked down on them, but Qian Ye and Duke Windswift on the high platform did not laugh. Qian Ye’s gaze lingered on the white-haired old priest, then he said, “What a pity.”
Duke Windswift replied, “There’s nothing we can do. That’s what the Wall Land is like. He comes from a small tribe, and it’s already quite an achievement for him to have lived this long.”
Werewolves from the Wall Land compress their growth periods to the limit in order to mature early and survive in harsh environments. In smaller tribes, slower-growing children are often abandoned, and even geniuses must first survive to grow.
It wasn’t funny for the old priest to bow to the Earth Dragon. He didn’t mistake it for something else; he sensed the existence of the Earth Dragon’s will and, out of reverence for the Void Beast, acted accordingly.
In fact, in many parts of the lower continent, Void Beasts are worshipped as deities. As the master of the Hall of Heroes, Qian Ye knew it was just residual will, but for others, perceiving the Earth Dragon’s will was already quite rare.
At this moment, the Hall of Heroes had landed. Even the “Gate” seemed narrow in front of its colossal body.
Qian Ye stood on the high platform, expressionless, but his will was already linked to the Hall of Heroes. What the Earth Dragon saw, he saw.
The Hall of Heroes retained only the most basic personnel, all of whom were powerful and had consumed the holy tree sap. They monitored internal changes, while the operations were controlled by the Earth Dragon’s instinct. The dragon-ship now swam slowly in the air, resembling a Void Beast rather than a human-controlled warship.
Driven by Qian Ye’s will, the Earth Dragon’s tail swayed, and it slowly moved forward, its head entering the fog zone, approaching the Gate.
Once inside the fog, Qian Ye felt a burning pain, even the Earth Dragon was uncomfortable with the strange original force. Without needing an order, the Earth Dragon activated the protective shield, blocking out the strange force, and the pain disappeared.
Qian Ye was relieved and maneuvered the dragon-ship slowly forward, finally entering the “Gate.”
The Earth Dragon’s vision was different. In the thick fog, it clearly “saw” a channel formed by the strange original force. Outside the channel, chaotic void roiled, shocking even Qian Ye. The channel, though seemingly thin, remained firm in the fierce storm.
The Earth Dragon accelerated, passing through the channel in a few movements, and Qian Ye’s vision changed, revealing the ever-burning sun of the New World.
Qian Ye suddenly paused, staring at the sun for a moment.
To the Earth Dragon, the sun was a burning ball of original force, constantly emitting scorching dawn original force and continuously drawing in the strange original force from various parts of the New World. However, once the strange force entered the sun, only dawn original force was emitted, and the other attributes either transformed or vanished.
Most crucially, through the Earth Dragon’s will, Qian Ye discovered that the sun was not real, or at least, it did not possess the enormous physical presence of the Evernight world’s sun.
It was just a burning, void original force fireball. Qian Ye sensed that this sun might hold the secret of the New World.
However, even the Earth Dragon could not approach the sun, let alone fly inside to investigate. The New World’s sun spewed dawn flames, capable of incinerating any tangible matter. Even if the Earth Dragon was still alive, and even if the Sky Demon, who had cast the Iron Curtain over the Evernight Continent, could not survive near the sun.
After a brief distraction, Qian Ye continued forward, and the massive body of the Hall of Heroes finally passed through the Gate, entering the New World!
Suddenly, thunderous cheers erupted from below. Qian Ye slowly tilted the dragon-ship, looking down to see all the warriors in the base emerging from their fortifications, gazing up and cheering.
This base was the first Qian Ye established in the New World, now quite large and fully equipped. It had several large hospitals, significant storage, research, training, and transportation facilities. New warriors would train here for a week to adapt to the New World’s environment before being sent to the front lines.
Thus, there were now over a hundred thousand warriors in the base, mostly werewolves.
The base was built not far from the Gate, so the Hall of Heroes’ massive body completely covered the sky above it. The werewolves, seeing such a wondrous ship, were awestruck, and some priests fell to their knees, praying loudly. The others followed, kneeling and praying.
The scene was familiar, and Qian Ye soon felt the mysterious force on him, gradually enhancing his bloodline power.
Qian Ye was surprised, gaining a new understanding of the mysterious force. Even the barrier between two worlds could not sever it. What was it? Simply by chanting Qian Ye’s name, the countless werewolves could break through the world barrier and send power to him, truly miraculous.
There are still too many secrets to uncover in this world, Qian Ye thought.
After entering the New World, Qian Ye received information from the shared will that the Hall of Heroes felt slightly stuffy. This was a new sensation; Void Beasts don’t need conventional breathing, and the Earth Dragon had been dead for years, with only its heart and a small amount of flesh remaining. How could it feel stuffy?
The Earth Dragon instinctively wanted to breathe, and Qian Ye did not stop it. The Earth Dragon opened its mouth and took a deep breath, immediately creating a horizontal tornado, sucking in endless original force!
A strong wind suddenly swept through the base, toppling many weaker warriors. Inside the Hall of Heroes, a storm raged, tearing equipment from their bases and destroying some compartments.
Fortunately, before entering the New World, the Hall of Heroes had undergone another renovation, reinforcing various structures to counteract the strange original force. This preparation prevented a complete disaster.
The original force storm reached the heart, most of it absorbed by the heart and flesh, while a little burst through the ship’s walls, escaping through what were likely once exhaust ports.
Swallowing a breath of original force, Qian Ye felt like he had inhaled a lungful of smoky air. Although it was somewhat choking, it alleviated the suffocation and weakness, revitalizing his body.
Body? Qian Ye was again surprised. Previously, when merged with the Earth Dragon’s will, he hadn’t felt any other parts except the heart. But now, it seemed even the bones were responsive. If not for his visual confirmation, Qian Ye would have mistaken it for a fully fleshed, living Earth Dragon.
Upon entering the New World, the Earth Dragon seemed to undergo a mysterious transformation, showing signs of potential revival. If true, it would be a miracle. When Qian Ye first saw it in the underground world, it was basically a skeleton, with only the heart remaining.
With the dragon-ship rejuvenated, Qian Ye maneuvered it, gradually accelerating and flying higher, relying on the Earth Dragon’s instinctive flight abilities. The Earth Dragon’s speed increased, even faster than in the void.
About half an hour later, Qian Ye felt a bit stifled again. He let the Earth Dragon follow its instincts. The Earth Dragon opened its mouth, expelling a cloud of turbid original force, causing a storm. After exhaling, it took another deep breath, the stifling feeling disappeared, and it regained vitality.
After flying for half a day, Qian Ye even circled above the first forest before returning, exiting the New World through the Gate.
When the dragon-ship returned, Qian Ye snapped out of his reverie.
“How was it?” Carol and Duke Windswift asked together.
“There were some minor issues, but it can definitely enter the New World,” Qian Ye said.
“That means the exploration can proceed without problems!” Carol exclaimed.
With the Hall of Heroes, it’s like having a mobile fortress. The beast army is no longer a threat.
