Moments after Luo Feng paid his respects to the Blood Deity Baqi, a deep violet saucer-shaped spacecraft hovered above the massive crater.
Hua!
The hatch opened.
The leader envoy, Bao Yue Ke Yan in white robes, and the fox-eyed young man Ku Yan flew out of the cabin, followed closely by eight other envoys.
“This is where Lord Baqi cultivates in secrecy?” Ku Yan’s eyes gleamed as he looked down at the immense crater. “The murderous aura here is so thick. It seems there must be a vortex of the same aura at the bottom.”
“Hmm.” Yue Ke nodded briefly, then immediately retracted the spacecraft beside him.
“Follow me down,” Yue Ke ordered.
“Yes,” the group of envoys replied respectfully.
“Tsk tsk, soon I’ll get to see the legendary Lord Baqi,” Ku Yan said, his voice brimming with anticipation.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! The figures shot downward, swiftly plunging into the crimson abyss filled with murderous aura.
…
At the bottom of the crater, a palace stood firm. Ten figures descended rapidly and landed at the palace entrance. Leading them were the white-robed Yue Ke and the fox-eyed youth Ku Yan.
“Lord Baqi, I come bearing the God’s decree, bringing the Blood-Net Medals,” Yue Ke bowed slightly and announced in a loud voice.
“Enter.”
A deep and mighty voice echoed directly in the ears of the ten, and simultaneously, a Blood Deity Guard appeared at the entrance, personally leading the way: “Honored envoys, please.”
Led by the Blood Deity Guard, the ten quickly arrived at the fifth level of the palace.
…
Fifth level of the palace.
Dressed in a crimson robe, Baqi sat high on his throne, gazing down at the newcomers. Below in the hall, his left side was occupied by the towering, fierce wilderness beast, Qi Niu. Beside the beast stood three Blood Deity Guards: Captain A Yi, Vice Captain A Er, and the ninety-seventh Blood Deity Guard who was to be awarded the Blood-Net Medal.
Yue Ke, Ku Yan, and the other eight arrived.
“Hail Lord Baqi,” the white-robed Yue Ke bowed respectfully, and the fox-eyed youth beside him also slightly bowed.
“Hail Lord Baqi,” the eight behind him all knelt on one knee.
“Yue Ke, you’ve had a long journey,” Baqi seated high on the throne slightly nodded, his gaze shifting to the fox-eyed youth beside him. “You are Ku Yan?”
“Yes, Lord Baqi,” the fox-eyed youth smiled brightly, his face filled with excitement and reverence as he spoke. “I am a few generations younger than you, Lord Baqi. However, I was also one of the prodigies nurtured by the Temple back then. I’ve long heard of your name and have always longed to meet you. Today, my wish has finally come true.”
Baqi nodded slightly, remaining calm.
The Temple nurtured many prodigies in every generation, and even had a large number of “World Masters.” He, Baqi, was the most outstanding prodigy in countless eons, his status rivaling that of an immortal deity. Naturally, he wouldn’t place too much importance on other ordinary prodigies. Moreover, the two below, Yue Ke and Ku Yan, though both Sovereigns, were only at the third and fifth Sovereign stages respectively.
Their power had not even reached its peak accumulation, so it was naturally not enough to earn Baqi’s significant attention.
“Where is the Blood-Net Medal?” Baqi looked down at Yue Ke.
“These are the twenty Blood-Net Medals brought by the God’s decree,” the white-robed Yue Ke flipped his hand, and immediately twenty medals, each about the size of a palm, floated above his hand. The medals were entirely dark red, with faintly visible carved patterns on them.
Swoosh!
The twenty Blood-Net Medals floated directly toward the Blood Deity Baqi seated high on the throne.
“Hmm,” the Blood Deity Baqi uttered a brief hum, waved his hand, and directly retracted the twenty Blood-Net Medals.
“Ninety-seven!” the Blood Deity Baqi commanded.
“Present!” Luo Feng immediately stepped forward, kneeling on one knee and loudly responding.
The Blood Deity Baqi on the throne revealed a slight smile: “You have successfully fused three Blood-Net Crystals, thus becoming a ‘Blood Warrior.’ Today, in front of these Temple envoys, I will personally bestow this Blood-Net Medal upon you! Train diligently and do not squander your talent.”
“Understood, my lord,” Luo Feng knelt on one knee, his voice firm and resolute.
“Hmm.”
The Blood Deity Baqi waved his hand, and instantly a Blood-Net Medal appeared out of nowhere, floating toward Luo Feng.
Luo Feng looked up at the medal. It was palm-sized, dark red, and the carved patterns on its surface vaguely formed the shape of an ancient palace. He reached out and took it respectfully, saying, “Thank you, my lord,” while inwardly sighing in relief. Finally, he had received this medal.
Becoming a Blood Warrior and obtaining the Blood-Net Medal would grant him 100,000 points!
“Now that everything is done, there’s no need for me to linger here. Once I return to the crater mansion, I’ll look for an opportunity to leave,” Luo Feng thought to himself.
“Fusing three Blood-Net Crystals at the peak of the Yunxiao level? Congratulations, Lord Baqi, for acquiring such a genius. I believe that in tens of thousands of years, he will certainly become an extraordinary expert,” Ku Yan’s voice, slightly sharp and refined, echoed in the hall.
The Blood Deity Baqi merely gave a noncommittal response before changing the subject: “I heard you obtained a Divine Beast Statue?”
“A stroke of luck,” Ku Yan’s face immediately lit up with excitement.
“Good fortune indeed,” Baqi seated on the throne nodded slightly.
Meanwhile, standing beside the two captains of the Blood Deity Guards, Luo Feng was inwardly puzzled. What exactly was this Divine Beast Statue?
“Lord Baqi, please take a look,” Ku Yan proudly extended one hand. Suddenly, a statue appeared out of nowhere above his palm. The statue was about thirty centimeters tall, translucent and crystal clear, faintly interlaced with golden hues. The entire statue depicted a bizarre beast resembling a lizard, but with a more ferocious head, sturdier four legs, and a single horn defiantly piercing the sky.
The entire statue faintly exuded a terrifying aura that made one’s heart tremble.
“Roar!”
It was as if a sharp, frenzied roar echoed in their ears, causing those present who saw the Divine Beast Statue to change expressions slightly.
“What an impressive Divine Beast Statue!” the Blood Deity Baqi exclaimed in admiration.
“Divine Beast!” The giant eyes of the wilderness beast Qi Niu revealed complex emotions as he gazed at the statue.
The two captains of the Blood Deity Guards also showed astonishment. They had heard of the legendary Divine Beast Statues before, but had never seen one! Perhaps the only one who had seen a Divine Beast Statue before among those present was the Blood Deity Baqi himself.
…
“This… this is…” Luo Feng maintained a calm exterior, but inside, his heart was in a tempest.
Yes!
Undoubtedly, the terrifying ancient beast depicted in the Divine Beast Statue before him was the same one he had seen in the three ancient images at the core of the vortex. Just this statue alone, with its faint yet heart-stirring aura, was definitely stronger than the Blood Deity Baqi, the wilderness beast Qi Niu, or even any of the powerful beings Luo Feng had seen in Chaos City!
Of course, the aura of the Divine Beast Statue was very faint.
“This Divine Beast Statue?” Luo Feng stared intently at every scale of the statue, at the intricately carved hooves, claws, and tail.
Roar!
Growl!
Luo Feng vaguely seemed to see, from countless eons ago, a massive lizard-like beast rampaging through the cosmos, roaring and slaughtering millions. That ferocious aura completely stirred the Bloodthirsty Beast clone within him. To the Earthling Luo Feng, it was as if the Bloodthirsty Beast itself was seeing this.
“Awooooo~~” The Bloodthirsty Beast within the inner world couldn’t help but raise its head and roar, its dark golden eyes filled with yearning and excitement.
“This, this is the true goal of the Bloodthirsty Beast.”
“This is the direction the Bloodthirsty Beast should strive toward.” Luo Feng’s heart was filled with excitement.
Years of studying those three ancient murals, combined with the peculiar resonance from the Bloodthirsty Beast, set Luo Feng’s heart ablaze with fervor.
Form is secondary, spirit is primary!
Luo Feng had once viewed the three blurred ancient images formed by the murderous aura, and by drawing inspiration from the secret art “Sky-Tearing and Earth-Sundering,” he had gained much insight. Later, he entered the core of the murderous aura vortex and saw the three ancient images even more clearly. These images were ten times clearer than the initially blurred ones formed by the murderous aura, and the “spirit” within them was also ten times more vivid!
And now!
The Divine Beast Statue before him gave Luo Feng the feeling of seeing the living ancient beast itself! Although it was only a statue, the “spirit” and the artistic conception it exuded were countless times higher than those three ancient images.
“Awooooo~~” The Bloodthirsty Beast in the inner world roared.
It was roaring.
As if a cat were roaring, imitating a tiger’s roar!
That ancient beast was a tiger, while the Bloodthirsty Beast was a weak little cat!
“This is exactly it!”
“No, my previous studies were wrong.”
“The secret art ‘Sky-Tearing and Earth-Sundering’ is far inferior to the ‘Sky-Tearing Claw’ of this ancient beast. Seeing the true form of the Divine Beast Statue, I now understand the correct path.” As if the ancient beast itself were alive, the aura exuding from the Divine Beast Statue, the unique artistic conception it contained, indeed brought many benefits to the Bloodthirsty Beast.
“I must get it!”
“I must obtain this Divine Beast Statue!”
“The Divine Beast Statue to the Bloodthirsty Beast is like the Nine Heavens’ Chaos Stele to a human. I don’t know who carved this Divine Beast Statue, but it actually contains the true artistic conception of the ancient beast’s attacks.” The Bloodthirsty Beast had studied for a long time and instantly felt that this Divine Beast Statue was no ordinary statue.
Luo Feng’s gaze fell on the white-robed Yue Ke and the fox-eyed youth.
The two of them… were both Sovereigns!
“What should I do? Both of them are Sovereigns. I can’t possibly fight them for it.” Luo Feng’s heart was anxious. “Moreover, there’s Baqi and the wilderness beast Qi Niu here, both Sovereigns at their peak. Once they leave, they’ll definitely take the spacecraft and depart quickly.”
As Luo Feng was anxious—
“The Divine Beast Statue, made entirely of jade-gold, with every inch of jade-gold being extremely valuable. It’s a rare material used by immortal deities to forge weapons,” the Blood Deity Baqi gazed at the Divine Beast Statue and sighed, seemingly lamenting the precious jade-gold being used merely to create a statue.
“However, of the eighteen statues, each one’s carving craftsmanship is unparalleled,” realizing his own oversight, the Blood Deity Baqi quickly praised the craftsmanship.
“Lord Baqi, the Blood-Net Medal has been delivered. I will now return to report,” the white-robed Yue Ke bowed.
Ku Yan also retracted the Blood-Net Medal and slightly bowed.
“Hmm,” the Blood Deity Baqi nodded slightly.
Immediately, the white-robed Yue Ke and Ku Yan, along with the eight envoys behind them, departed directly.
Luo Feng stood there, his brows furrowed.
