Qian Ye was still deep in slumber, fighting against the suffocating grip of his dreams, his consciousness submerged beneath the depths of the ocean, with the world above the surface seeming impossibly distant.
However, to Yu Yingnan, with all this commotion, how could Qian Ye possibly still be asleep? He must be feigning sleep, and it was clear that she needed to take more initiative.
“Damn it! Do I have to do everything myself?”
Yu Yingnan mumbled unclearly, then threw herself beside Qian Ye. Lying flat, she listened to her heart pounding in her chest, each beat like a drum. She turned her head to look at the person by her side, thought for a moment, and then reached out, pulling him over and flipping him onto her.
Though Qian Ye’s body seemed somewhat slender, it was unexpectedly heavy. Yu Yingnan’s breath paused for a moment, but a sense of profound security soon washed over her. She stretched out her arms, embracing the body that felt like steel wrapped in silk, and her wildly beating heart began to calm down slightly.
It was only then that Qian Ye opened his eyes, clearly confused about the situation.
“Keep pretending! Keep pretending for me!” Yu Yingnan gritted her teeth in frustration.
Yet, on the surface, she managed a smile as gentle as possible, though she knew her efforts were in vain as Qian Ye remained utterly bewildered.
“What’s wrong with you?” Qian Ye reached out to touch Yu Yingnan’s forehead. Her entire body was burning hot, but not from a fever; it was likely due to excessive alcohol. The intense aroma of wine mixed with a sweet, milky scent, making the air in the small room feel damp.
This was the final straw. Yu Yingnan’s fiery temper finally erupted.
She cast aside all pretenses and expressions, tightly gripping Qian Ye’s strong, lean waist, and gritting her teeth, said, “I want a man tonight. Are you willing?”
Qian Ye was stunned, and it wasn’t until Yu Yingnan repeated herself that he truly understood.
The meaning was clear: any man would understand. Yet, hearing it from Yu Yingnan made it seem particularly strange. Qian Ye had never imagined that this formidable, domineering huntress would ever say such a thing.
He examined Yu Yingnan carefully, for the first time viewing her as a woman. Ignoring her expression and demeanor, she was indeed beautiful, with striking features and a good figure.
In this close contact, Qian Ye once again felt the incredible resilience of her body, as if every line could spring him up.
The last time he accidentally pinned her, he felt the lethal potential of her body, no wonder she had reached the fourth level at such a young age. Now, Qian Ye finally realized that this was a woman’s body, and it was enticingly seductive.
Additionally, her scent was as alluring as ever. The sweet, energy-rich aroma was particularly attractive to Qian Ye, whose body had suddenly become extremely thirsty.
But none of that mattered. What mattered was that things seemed to have reached a point of no return. If nothing happened now, their relationship would undoubtedly end.
Yu Yingnan kissed Qian Ye’s lips, clumsily, without proper control, actually hurting him a little. But this action ignited his male instincts like a match, and after a few simple tugs, she was completely unguarded.
Their skin-to-skin contact heated the air, making it feel like flames. Qian Ye, after a few tentative thrusts, forcefully advanced, deeply invading the territory he had longed to possess.
The pleasure was intense, and instinct rapidly overwhelmed reason. Each breath felt like a spark. Qian Ye stopped the passionate kiss, tilted his head, and nuzzled her neck, finding the source of his desire. His teeth gently grazed her skin, revealing a strong, pulsing life force.
The dormant golden blood suddenly stirred, emanating an unprecedented thirst for blood. Qian Ye’s hunger surged, and he wanted to bite down!
“No!” Qian Ye was shocked, suddenly snapping out of his daze, acutely aware that this person was Yu Yingnan, not a stranger.
He used his willpower, honed from years of battling pain, to suppress the bloodlust. But the recurring, overpowering desires made it clear that mere suppression wouldn’t work. He needed a trick to fool his body.
So he licked her neck, the rich, bloody aroma rolling into his throat, giving him a fleeting satisfaction and making him even more excited. Yu Yingnan, caught off guard, screamed and clung to him, clearly sensitive in this area.
Her whole body tensed, multiplying Qian Ye’s pleasure. He no longer held back, and with each powerful thrust, her beautiful body convulsed and screamed involuntarily.
Yu Yingnan’s hands gripped Qian Ye’s back, fingers sinking into the muscle, but leaving no marks. The man in control grew increasingly dominant, almost brutally, leaving her no choice but to scream.
Yu Yingnan’s screams lasted for hours. Neighbors, unable to bear the disturbance, tried to protest by banging on the door, only to be blown away by a trap.
After the explosion, those around them abandoned their plans for retribution. Some found their women, some found others, and some found men; in short, they did what they felt like doing.
When Yu Yingnan finally stumbled into the bathroom and turned on the shower, she saw a face in the mirror that was both satisfied and feminine. Touching her neck and biting her lip, she looked incredibly alluring. Qian Ye had been too cunning, discovering her weakness and relentlessly attacking it, nearly driving her mad.
She had fulfilled her wish and even felt a little hopeful about the future. Smiling, she couldn’t resist flipping off the mirror.
Then, the dream ended.
Yu Yingnan stared at her reflection, now exuding dominance again, and sighed heavily. She remembered her original decision, and the future she had hoped for was just a dream. With her wish fulfilled, it was time to return to reality, so she reverted to her brash, bold self.
When she finished her shower, Qian Ye was still sleeping. His face was tired, and he looked weak, indicating his recent exhaustion. Of course, any man who had been through such a prolonged battle wouldn’t fare much better.
Qian Ye still frowned in his sleep, as if troubled by some unsolvable problem. Yu Yingnan gently reached out, smoothing the lines of his frown, and studied his face.
For the first time, she noticed how handsome he was. In her memory, the most vivid impressions of Qian Ye were his awkwardness when they first met and his impassive stance as he took the bullet for the Sky Snake. His appearance was somewhat blurred.
Being good-looking wasn’t a bad thing, she thought. She bent down, quietly kissed his cheek, left a note beside him, and packed her things, leaving in the night.
When Qian Ye awoke, sunlight streamed through the window, and the clock was nearing noon.
Had he slept so long? Startled, he sat up and saw the note. It was Yu Yingnan’s handwriting, not pretty, but powerful, her style.
“Qian Ye, I’m going to help you with a task. It’s perfect for you, and we can discuss the details when I return. Don’t go far, wait for me!”
Yu Yingnan didn’t specify the task, but Qian Ye trusted she wouldn’t harm him. So, waiting a few more days was fine. Staying in Dark Blood City, the elusive Yu Renyan might be a minor nuisance, but Qian Ye felt he might not win, but he wouldn’t lose either.
Qian Ye got out of bed and checked the kitchen. He ate almost all the stored food, yet only felt half full. He felt particularly weak and hungry. When he went to replenish the supplies, he found he had only a few dozen silver coins left, having given the last gold coin to a nameless girl.
He had to find a way to earn money, Qian Ye thought, dejected.
Just then, Er Ge’s voice called from outside, “Is Qian Ye in there?”
Qian Ye opened the door to find Er Ge already in the foyer. They sat down, and Er Ge handed him a list, saying, “These are the items you asked me to find. Take a look.”
Qian Ye glanced at the list, slightly surprised. The first part listed military potions to accelerate origin power cultivation, effective before the Battle Commander level, a more advanced version of Vermilion Blood.
The second part listed weapons. A set of light armor and a tactical scope. The armor was based on the standard issue of the Imperial main forces, modified for less burden and with a different design, a common black market tactic. The tactical scope could be used as a telescope or attached to a sniper rifle, among other weapons.
Surprisingly, the tactical scope was an origin power equipment! It had special origin power arrays, allowing it to switch between four different views, including dedicated reconnaissance modes for arachnids and demon descendants, in addition to vampires and werewolves. Despite only two additional modes, the complexity of the arrays increased exponentially, making the scope cost an astonishing 800 gold coins!
The materials and production costs weren’t that high, but few people could obtain such elite equipment from the Imperial forces and bring it to the Eternal Night Continent. Thus, such equipment was always in high demand, with prices only serving as a reference. An all-race scope in the Eternal Night Continent was invaluable.
If not for Er Ge’s connections, Qian Ye, knowing the prices of the Dark Blood City black market, believed the scope would cost at least 1,000 gold coins.
The other items on the list were also expensive. The armor was priced at 200 gold coins, and the potion at 50 gold coins each. Though pricey, the potion was particularly helpful for breaking through nodal barriers, but, like Vermilion Blood, it required daily use until saturation.
Qian Ye put down the list, smiling bitterly, “These are what I need, but…”
When he asked Er Ge for prices, he hadn’t planned on getting Eagle Strike. Now, with Eagle Strike, he couldn’t afford anything on the list.
Er Ge took back the list and marked many items, including the armor, scope, and half the potions, “I’ve ordered these for you. You’ll get them within a month.”
Qian Ye was shocked, “Wait…” He couldn’t afford any of these items.
Er Ge, seemingly knowing what Qian Ye was thinking, interrupted, “I know you don’t have money, but you will soon. There’s a task. If you take it, the deposit alone will cover these items and more.”
“Task?” Qian Ye sensed something was off.
