This silent, ancient starry expanse seemed frozen, exuding an overwhelming sense of oppression.
Four colossal phantom forms, manifestations of four distinct consciousnesses, occupied three distinct locations.
Among them, the enormous silver-white serpent head and a bizarre beast covered in serrated armor stood together at one location.
A slender figure occupied another location.
A massive, elliptical, black spherical phantom stood alone at yet another location.
“You all are already aware of the situation,” the slender figure, the ‘Queen of the Insect Race,’ spoke in her usual gentle yet infinitely alluring voice. “Luo Feng executed the strongest secret technique of a Sovereign, creating a microcosm universe. Within that microcosm universe, over 6,000 Cosmic Sovereigns perished instantly, and he repelled Lord Banfu, escaping back into the Thousand-Treasure River Domain of his master, Sovereign Hunyuan.”
“Your Majesty, Banfu was your choice!” the black spherical phantom exclaimed in anger.
A hoary voice emanated from the serrated-armored beast: “Queen of the Insect Race, this mission was carried out by Banfu of your Insect Race Alliance. Given how things turned out, your race must bear a larger share of the responsibility.”
“You all agreed to it as well,” the Queen of the Insect Race replied coldly. “Besides, who could have predicted that Luo Feng would use the strongest secret technique of a Sovereign? It was completely unexpected. Even if your Beast Race Alliance or the Machine Race Alliance had dispatched Sovereigns, could they have done any better?”
The two Ancestors of the Beast Race and the Father God of the Machine Race naturally understood the logic, but the losses this time were indeed enormous.
Although some of the 6,000 plus Cosmic Sovereigns had the ability to create clones, they were only a small minority. Adding to that the 800+ killed earlier by Luo Feng, the total number of Sovereigns needing resurrection was around 7,000, each at least a High-Level Cosmic Sovereign!
This was a terrifying number.
This involved the distribution of responsibility, with each of the three factions bearing different shares. Thus, right from the beginning, the Beast Race and Machine Race factions started emphasizing ‘Banfu’s poor execution,’ clearly laying the groundwork for future demands.
“Hmph!”
The Queen of the Insect Race snorted coldly. “Each of our three factions will resurrect our own Cosmic Sovereigns! Don’t expect my Insect Race Alliance to shoulder more than our fair share.”
“The silver-white serpent head spoke up, “In this operation, our Beast Race Alliance deployed the most Cosmic Sovereigns. On that primordial star, over half of the Cosmic Sovereigns were from our Beast Race Alliance! More than half of those who perished were also from our alliance. We contributed the most to the operation, yet now we are expected to bear the greatest responsibility? That’s unfair!”
“I never forced your Beast Race to deploy so many Cosmic Sovereigns,” the Queen of the Insect Race countered. “You did so willingly. Naturally, you should bear the consequences of their deaths. Besides, we all agreed beforehand that any fallen Cosmic Sovereigns would be resurrected by their respective alliances.”
Previously, none had anticipated such massive losses.
Everyone had assumed only a few would perish. Later, when Luo Feng’s Mosha Clan clone appeared, the three alliances realized their miscalculation, but it was still within acceptable limits.
However, the final large-scale annihilation made all three alliances feel the pain deeply.
…
The three factions argued.
Even the strongest beings in the cosmos would not easily back down when their race’s interests were at stake. The stakes were incredibly high this time—resurrecting a single High-Level Cosmic Sovereign could severely injure a Sovereign! Only those with extraordinary innate abilities, like the World Tree or Mountain Giant, whose godly bodies were exceptionally robust, could resurrect more.
The number of Cosmic Sovereigns resurrected had nothing to do with strength and everything to do with the robustness of one’s godly body!
The more robust the body, the more one could resurrect!
But this time, the number was simply too large—approximately 7,000! Just the fallen Cosmic Overlords alone placed immense pressure on the four Sovereigns. How many Sovereigns did the three alliances have in total? If all the powerful beings were severely injured, they wouldn’t be able to resurrect so many Cosmic Sovereigns.
“In my opinion,” the black spherical phantom suggested, “there’s no need to argue further. Let’s approach Sovereign Jiuyou from the three alliances! Let Sovereign Jiuyou handle the resurrection… his Jiuyou Sea rivals the mightiest treasures. He can definitely resurrect 7,000 Cosmic Sovereigns!”
“Resurrecting more beings increases the cosmic backlash,” the silver serpent head replied. “Sovereign Jiuyou’s Jiuyou Sea can indeed withstand increasingly terrifying retribution. However… most of those 7,000 Cosmic Sovereigns have never been to Jiuyou Sea. Sovereign Jiuyou must come to our three alliances to perform the resurrection, but Jiuyou Sea itself cannot be moved. Relying solely on a single divine body of Sovereign Jiuyou…”
“At first, one divine body could resurrect one Cosmic Sovereign. Even if we teleport one divine body over each time, in the later stages, the backlash becomes stronger. One divine body’s divine power might not even withstand the backlash… making it impossible to resurrect even a single Cosmic Sovereign.”
The three factions fell silent again.
Reversing time to resurrect powerful beings incurred punishment from the cosmic laws, a violation of the natural cosmic order. Violating it once, twice, three times… violating it too many times was a provocation to the very essence of the cosmos! The punishment would grow increasingly severe. Of course, Jiuyou Sea’s infinite power could withstand it.
Unfortunately, Jiuyou Sea couldn’t be moved.
“It’s impossible for all Sovereigns of our three alliances to perform the resurrection,” the black spherical phantom stated. “This would severely weaken our three alliances. If we don’t resurrect or delay the resurrection for a long time… that won’t work either. We made a promise and must fulfill it.”
“In my opinion, we should specifically invite those Sovereigns who are unique lifeforms with particularly robust divine bodies,” the black spherical phantom continued. “Our three alliances have several of them. In the Northern Border Alliance and the Ancestral God Sect, there are many such unique lifeform Sovereigns. Inviting them, each could resurrect over a hundred Cosmic Sovereigns or even more! After resurrecting the Cosmic Overlords, we could probably resurrect a few more Cosmic Sovereigns as well.”
…
The four Sovereigns quickly deliberated. Their consciousness operated at an astonishing speed, rapidly formulating a detailed plan.
This was already the least costly option available.
The three alliances would share the burden equally!
Each alliance would effectively lose a top-tier domain-class treasure, a loss that deeply pained the four Sovereigns.
“The resurrection plan is set. Now let’s discuss Luo Feng,” the black spherical phantom said.
“Luo Feng must be killed!” the Queen of the Insect Race declared.
“He possesses the Clone Technique and is extremely powerful. Even Sovereigns might not be able to deal with him. Unless we personally intervene, but we are only four in total. It would be ridiculous if all of us had to act. And individually, how could we chase him down on the primordial star?” the serrated-armored beast’s voice, hoary and aged, spoke. “However, I agree with your view, Your Majesty. This plan of our three alliances has failed, and we’ve suffered heavy losses. If we end it like this, we will become the laughingstock of the entire universe! Even killing one of his clones would at least serve as a conclusion.”
“Exactly,” the enormous silver serpent head also chimed in.
“Destroying his clone and seizing his treasures! Otherwise, letting him leave arrogantly, we would surely be mocked even more,” the black spherical phantom added.
“Luo Feng has a Mosha Clan clone and escapes extremely quickly. We might not catch up in time,” the hoary voice remarked.
“Even if he escapes from the primordial star,” the Queen of the Insect Race said coldly, though still exuding allure, “we will continue the pursuit. We must kill him once and seize his treasures, at least partially redeeming the shame of this failure.”
The four supreme beings understood…
The moment Luo Feng annihilated more than 6,000 Cosmic Sovereigns, the three alliances had already lost face. Even if they managed to kill one of Luo Feng’s clones as a conclusion… it would still be quite embarrassing. However, if they failed to kill Luo Feng’s clone and allowed him to act with impunity against the three alliances…
That would be even more humiliating, even becoming a laughingstock!
“Let other Sovereigns track Luo Feng’s movements, preferably restraining him!”
“Dreamtea, you will handle this.”
“Alright.”
…
Primitive Star No. 02933.
Within the Thousand-Treasure River Domain, a hazy figure of Sovereign Hunyuan materialized before Luo Feng, although the true body of Sovereign Hunyuan was over 30 billion kilometers away.
“Master, are you sending me to my death?” Luo Feng exclaimed in shock.
“What you did this time was impressive, and everyone in our Hong Alliance is celebrating. If I were in your position, I would have done the same,” Sovereign Hunyuan’s projection said. “But while actions can be taken, since this was the three alliances’ fault, they wanted to kill you first. Therefore, even though you acted, they won’t dare to escalate the conflict openly.”
Luo Feng nodded.
Among the superpowers, Sovereigns generally refrained from wanton slaughter. Such actions would provoke another faction, potentially even triggering war.
However, this time, the three factions had sought to kill Luo Feng but ended up defeated by him, so naturally, it wouldn’t lead to war.
“Even if they can’t openly retaliate, they must save face! The three superpowers suffered such a huge loss at your hands. If they silently endure it, they will be ridiculed throughout the universe,” Sovereign Hunyuan’s projection continued. “They will definitely retaliate, possibly even deploying one of the four Sovereigns.”
Luo Feng’s heart stirred.
“They need to save face and must conclude this by killing you. Even if it’s just one of your clones,” Sovereign Hunyuan stated. “You’ve placed all your treasures with other clones. Just send out one clone, like your Mosha Clan clone… let it go to its death! Just one Mosha Clan clone, without any treasures, costing you only a bit of divine power. The three alliances… can then publicly claim they’ve killed you, concluding this matter and somewhat salvaging their dignity.”
“What do you think?” Sovereign Hunyuan gazed at Luo Feng.
Luo Feng silently pondered.
He wasn’t a fool.
If there hadn’t been a series of prior plans, he might have agreed. After all, having a Mosha Clan clone perish at the hands of a Sovereign wasn’t too shameful. However… this would prevent him from executing another plan—the ‘Blood Cloud’ strategy.
“Master, I won’t entangle with them, but I refuse to simply sacrifice myself,” Luo Feng replied directly. “Master, you know my abilities. I can easily escape from the primordial star.”
“Even if you escape from the primordial star, they will continue to pursue you,” Sovereign Hunyuan said. “Send your Mosha Clan clone to its death, and this matter will be settled.”
