Chapter 62: The Siege (Part II)

At that moment, a faint sound came from nearby. Qian Ye immediately concealed all his presence and, through the gaps in the leaves, saw a solitary Shizu warrior cautiously moving forward.

He had just passed under the tree where Qian Ye was hiding when he suddenly stopped. A droplet of water almost touched his nose and then shattered on the tip of his boot. The Shizu warrior frowned, bent down, wiped the tip of his boot with his hand, and then examined it closely.

On his fingertips was a streak of fresh red blood.

He quietly gripped his gun, allowing origin power to flow into it, charging it up. Then, he slowly raised his head to look up into the tree. Just then, he suddenly felt a gust of wind striking at the back of his head!

A Shizu warrior daring to enter this area naturally had something to rely on. He was a sixth-level expert and had extensive combat experience on the front lines. Without hesitation, he instantly elbowed backward!

A dull sound came from behind. The Shizu warrior felt as if his elbow had hit a piece of dead wood, dispersing all the origin power he had released. Although he had struck solidly, he did not manage to injure his opponent.

What kind of defense was this? The Shizu warrior, stricken with fear, was just about to flash on this thought when a hand grabbed his shoulder. Qian Ye’s short knife plunged into the Shizu warrior’s waist, releasing a fierce wave of origin power from the Bingfa Art. The overwhelming force instantly shattered the warrior’s origin power defense and pulverized all the internal organs around the blade!

“Bingfa Art thirty waves! You’re a War King!?” The seasoned Shizu warrior, clearly well-versed in such matters, cried out in deep terror!

As a Shizu who needed to survive independently, he knew exactly what a War King meant. No wonder, even at the mere fifth level, he could make the Zhao clan so miserable! But now, everything was too late. No longer hoping to live, he fought desperately, hoping to deal a final, heavy blow. With the last of his origin power, he swung his elbow repeatedly, smashing into Qian Ye’s side!

*Boom! Boom! Boom!* Muffled sounds reverberated in the forest. Unfazed, Qian Ye seemed to feel nothing, channeling wave after wave of origin power into the Shizu warrior’s body.

The Shizu warrior’s counterattack gradually weakened. His only visible injury was the slash on his waist, but all his internal organs had been shattered. Qian Ye’s military knife, unable to withstand the Bingfa Art’s thirtieth wave, crumbled into pieces inside the warrior’s body.

Qian Ye’s hand, still on the warrior’s shoulder, swiftly cut open his neck’s artery, and the lifeblood, rich with origin power, sprayed several meters away. Qian Ye closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then pushed the corpse to the ground.

In that moment, Qian Ye recalled Yu Renyan’s words and couldn’t help but smile wryly. Although some principles may be out of place, most often, they are not worth breaking.

Qian Ye calmed his breathing and searched the Shizu warrior’s body, finding stimulants and origin power bullets, along with two unexpected origin power grenades.

After setting things up near the corpse, Qian Ye left the area and dashed into the adjacent jungle.

About ten minutes later, two family guards appeared. They were shocked to see the body on the ground. One guard remained alert while the other ran over to check the body. Upon turning the corpse, he exclaimed, “Wu Youhong!”

Obviously, the two guards knew each other and had a good relationship. The guard immediately picked up the body and was about to speak when a sudden blinding light flashed before his eyes. Before he could even sense the danger, everything went dark.

The simultaneous explosion of the two origin power grenades was terrifying, far beyond what a sixth-level warrior could withstand. Even the guard standing watch ten meters away was thrown back, while the one at the center of the explosion was completely vaporized.

At that moment, in a clearing, Qian Ye, facing another blockage, charged straight at two Song clan guards. The two guards held their origin power guns steady, extremely tense, following Qian Ye’s movements.

Qian Ye’s movements were unpredictable, fast and slow, constantly evading the guards’ aim and closing the distance rapidly!

Unconsciously, sweat poured from the two guards. Both were snipers and skilled in anti-sniper tactics, but Qian Ye’s performance far exceeded his level, or rather, should not appear below a War Marshal.

Now, both sides were in a standoff. The guards knew that although they had Qian Ye’s trajectory locked, the moment they pulled the trigger, the origin power gun would have a slight delay, enough for Qian Ye to move his vital spots. However, in that split second, their actions would also be fixed, and Qian Ye’s dual pistols would certainly blast through their bodies. These two guards knew they could not match Qian Ye’s speed in dodging.

Behind the two guards, Ye Mulan, who had just run up, was pale. She felt like she was facing a wounded wolf. Everyone knew a wounded wolf was the most dangerous.

She suddenly screamed, “Fire!”

The two Song clan guards instinctively pulled the triggers, immediately realizing their mistake!

Two bursts of bloody light bloomed on Qian Ye’s body, but neither hit a vital spot. Under the powerful thrust, Qian Ye flew backward, but his retreat was remarkably steady. His twin pistols steadily aimed at the two guards and fired simultaneously!

A soft *puff* sound, like a flower bud opening, echoed as the eerie dual-colored flower outlined a beautiful silhouette in the night, swaying in a twin bloom.

Both guards’ faces exploded with a crimson glow of origin power! They fell backward, screaming in agony, writhing in pain. Blood gushed from between their fingers, clearly showing their faces had been completely destroyed.

A beam of light flashed from the muzzle of Ye Mulan’s sniper rifle. In the roar, another burst of blood mist shot from Qian Ye’s shoulder and back, opening a large hole. The gold threads in his warrior attire blackened and curled, revealing the white bone beneath the mangled flesh. Gritting her teeth, she dropped the sniper rifle, drew her pistol, and rushed towards where Qian Ye had fallen.

Ye Mulan was filled with dread. Only on the battlefield did she realize how perilous this man was, far more so than in any arena. She knew that if Qian Ye survived today, she might spend the rest of her life in constant fear.

At this moment, Ye Mulan vividly remembered every word Qian Ye had said at the “Bronze Sparrow Platform” in Xichang: “How long can you protect me? A month, a year, or ten years?” Now, she realized he meant every word. This low-born man dared to offend even Zhao Junhong, and her status as the Seventh Young Master’s fiancée offered no protection.

Ye Mulan had only one thought: even if it meant sacrificing the Song clan’s elite guards and facing scolding, she must kill this dangerous man here and now!

When she reached within 30 meters of Qian Ye, entering the optimal range for her pistol, she saw that Qian Ye had already drawn his Eagle Strike, aiming it steadily at her. That slender, delicate hand was as steady as a rock, without a single tremor!

Ye Mulan suddenly opened her mouth, letting out a scream. Before she could dodge, a burst of crimson light exploded in her chest, throwing her backward.

Qian Ye, pushed by the immense recoil, slid across the ground, the wound on his back scraping against the rough surface, leaving a trail of mangled flesh and blood. Even with a vampire-like constitution, firing the Eagle Strike with one hand caused Qian Ye to hear the cracking of bones in his wrist and elbow. Now, any movement of his right arm brought intense pain.

Rising to his feet, Qian Ye discarded the Eagle Strike and pounced on Ye Mulan. Though the Eagle Strike had good firepower, a shot without any special abilities could only severely injure her. Realizing this, Qian Ye, unsure if he would survive the next moment, was determined not to let this treacherous woman go.

Sure enough, Ye Mulan spat out a mouthful of blood, moaned, and shook her head, trying to get up. Her outer clothing was completely shredded, revealing a close-fitting black soft armor underneath. The vital parts were reinforced with several deep brown plates, clearly providing extra protection.

The reinforcement plates had shattered, but the black base layer was only punctured, exposing the snowy skin of her chest, surprisingly unmarred. The armor’s defensive power was truly formidable.

Seeing this armor, Qian Ye felt an immediate headache. By his estimate, Ye Mulan’s armor was nearly as strong as Wei Po Tian’s Thousand Mountain Armor. Tossing aside his short dagger, Qian Ye realized the standard military blade could not withstand his fierce origin power and would likely break before slicing through the armor.

Leaping up, Qian Ye pounced on Ye Mulan, pinning her back to the ground. She groaned, more blood seeping from her lips. Qian Ye reached for her throat, but she blocked him with her hands.

With his right hand unable to exert much force, Qian Ye pressed down with his left, forcing Ye Mulan’s hands to sink lower, but her desperate resistance made it difficult to choke her quickly.

Ye Mulan writhed and struggled, occasionally lurching to throw Qian Ye off. Her close combat skills were not weak, but Qian Ye’s techniques far surpassed hers, with overwhelming strength and constitution. He forced himself between her legs, spreading them wide, firmly entangling her, bringing his left hand ever closer to her throat.

Breathing heavily, Ye Mulan’s eyes showed fear and pleading, making her appear pitiful. Her chest heaved, and the fullness under her broken armor hinted at its richness, rivaling Yu Yingnan’s. She even moved deliberately, hoping to show more, clearly hoping for Qian Ye to show some mercy and spare her.

However, Qian Ye’s eyes were cold and emotionless, as if he did not see anything in front of him.

They remained in this deadlock for several minutes.

An almost imperceptible gaze swept over them but made no move to intervene, eventually moving on. Clearly, Ye Mulan did not qualify for the safety list.

Suddenly, a chill gripped Qian Ye’s heart. During the earlier hunt, he had not sensed any overseer. Their sudden appearance now meant that the leading members of the major families might be nearby.
