Chapter 245: An Unexpected Incident

Dongbo Xueying stood atop a low hill on a remote island, gazing afar at a colossal battle two thousand li away. With his extraordinary vision, he could still clearly discern the scene of that epic clash.

The battlefield was shrouded in endless waves of frigid cold, with space itself freezing inch by inch.

The high-ranking demon “Ralph” possessed an extremely formidable body and was still struggling fiercely.

“Master Chen, how is it going?” Dongbo Xueying inquired through his communication ring.

“Hahaha, Xueying, the situation is splendid! The Shadow Demon and the Crimson-armored Demon have already been slain. Even the Mountain Demon has been taken alive!” Master Chen’s spirits soared. “Mountain Master He has already proclaimed that they hold an overwhelming advantage, and the Violet-armored Demon won’t endure much longer either. Only Master Taishu’s battle progresses slightly slower; he might require about the span of a cup of tea to conclude.”

“I see,” Dongbo Xueying nodded. “I understand. I’m not far from Master Taishu right now. This battle is indeed the fiercest. The Ice Demon General Ralph previously concealed his true strength. Now, fully unleashed, he is even stronger than we had assessed.”

“Yes, but this was also within our expectations. We had made preparations. He’s just prolonging his demise a little longer,” Master Chen replied.

Dongbo Xueying smiled silently and continued watching.

Upon hearing the news of the successive deaths of the demon generals, Dongbo Xueying felt a wave of relief. With each fallen demon, the Xia Clan would enjoy a longer period of peace in the years to come.

“Who gave you the right to invade our Xia world? You treated us as livestock! Then we have no choice but to exterminate you!” Dongbo Xueying murmured inwardly.

Soon, another message arrived.

“Xueying, the Violet-armored Demon General has fallen!” Master Chen transmitted.

“Excellent!” Dongbo Xueying was overjoyed.

This Flame General, Yanze, had been extremely secretive. If he hadn’t sent out a magical clone to ambush Dongbo, his true strength would still be uncertain. Now, he had finally fallen.

Five… four had already fallen!

“Ralph, it’s just you now,” Dongbo Xueying gazed toward the distant battlefield.

Master Taishu and his group—three demigods and the Azure-armored Guard—were charging forward with unstoppable momentum. Especially Master Taishu, who was relentlessly attacking Ralph from all directions. Ralph’s body was incredibly tough, yet again and again his bones shattered and his scales cracked. Each strike from the Sea God Palace’s most powerful artifact, the Zhenhai Hunyuan Staff, destroyed parts of his scales and annihilated his flesh at the particle level.

Ralph was drenched in blood, yet his body regenerated rapidly.

“This artifact is unbearable; every strike wounds me!” Ralph was in excruciating pain. “And this divine weapon keeps harassing me!”

Without formations and without help from divine weapons,

Ralph would have no fear of Master Taishu at all! Especially after unleashing his innate power, he might even gain a slight advantage.

But… the Xia Clan’s intent was to kill him, not to challenge him to a duel! Under such overwhelming suppression, Ralph’s true strength could not be unleashed.

“Ralph, four of the five demon generals have fallen. Only you remain!” Master Taishu’s voice shook Ralph’s will.

“My demonic body’s vitality has already been halved. If this continues, I will surely die!” Ralph struggled desperately. “I am a high-ranking demon, I am Ralph! I still have so many things left to do. How can I die in a mortal world!”

Gradually,

he was struck repeatedly, unable to escape. The Zhenhai Hunyuan Staff kept wounding him, and his life force continued to deplete.

As Ralph faced the encircling Taishu, his cold eyes now carried despair. He roared, “I am going to die. Before I die, can you at least tell me… how did you discover me?”

“How did we discover you?” Master Taishu sneered. “If I told you, wouldn’t you just send word to the Demon God Cult? And what does it matter to a dying demon? Why ask so many questions!”

Ralph grew even more anguished.

As a demon, he did not fear death, but the frustration of leaving so many tasks unfinished gnawed at him. Not even knowing how he had been discovered made his resentment even worse.

But clearly… the Xia Clan had no intention of telling him.

In truth, it wasn’t that they refused to tell him—it was that even Mountain Master He, Master Taishu, and the others had only received messages from Master Chen. None of them knew exactly how Master Chen had pinpointed the demons’ precise locations. Therefore, they simply had no way to answer Ralph’s question.

“Hmm?” Suddenly, Master Taishu’s expression changed.

“Who is that?” The other two demigods from the Sea God Palace—the silver-robed woman and the black-cloaked elder—also turned their gazes toward the distant sky.

The sun hung high, its light radiant and brilliant.

Yet at this moment, a pitch-black fissure suddenly appeared in midair, and from it emerged a figure.

At the sight of this figure, Master Taishu and the other two demigods felt a chill in their hearts.

“This is…” Dongbo Xueying, observing from two thousand li away, clearly saw the figure stepping out of the dark fissure. At that moment, his heart involuntarily tightened.

It was a mysterious figure clad in dark crimson armor.

The surface of the armor was smooth and flawless. The figure also wore a dark crimson horned helmet, with two massive curved horns that seemed ready to pierce the heavens. His face was covered by a dark crimson mask, revealing only his eyes. What kind of eyes they were! From two thousand li away, Dongbo Xueying could only see them dimly.

Yet even from that distance, he could vaguely sense that those were eyes wreathed in grayish mist.

Gray…

The ultimate stillness! The ultimate death! As if carrying the deepest darkness!

The same grayish mist swirled around the surface of the armor. It was a presence that any supernatural being would instinctively fear.

“Shhh~~~” A dry, grating sound. Slowly, the mysterious figure in crimson armor drew forth a massive scimitar from behind his back. The scimitar was enormous, over a meter long, and entirely blood-red, as if its surface was drenched in blood. A terrifying aura of bloodlust radiated from it, immediately confirming to Master Taishu and the others that it was undoubtedly a divine artifact!

“Die!”

With a cold shout,

the mysterious figure clad in dark crimson armor swung his massive scimitar, as if wielding the very embodiment of ultimate death!

“Whoosh whoosh whoosh~~~” Hardly a sound, yet the scimitar tore through the air, causing space itself to collapse and vanish. The sea water also disintegrated, and even the surrounding sunlight was extinguished, as if all things were being erased. The formation that had previously been in place began to unravel under this terrifying slash. Ordinary people might need to study the intricacies of a formation to break it, and even breaking it by brute force would require direct confrontation.

But under this scimitar, it seemed as though all things were being annihilated—this was annihilation at the level of fundamental laws, requiring no force at all. The formation simply vanished!

The sheer might of this strike was enough to instill terror in the hearts of all.

Master Taishu even had a chilling thought—if his Sea God body were struck by this scimitar, it might be cut down in a single blow!

“Back off!” Master Taishu roared furiously! This was his domain—the ocean was his territory. On the sea, he was invincible!

His semi-transparent body, formed from flowing water, suddenly expanded in size. Grasping the Zhenhai Hunyuan Staff with both hands, he unleashed a surge of overwhelming power, swinging the divine artifact forward in a blinding golden arc. In an instant, the staff transformed into a dazzling golden light, meeting the terrifying scimitar head-on at an astonishing speed.

“Boom~~~~~”

The massive scimitar and the Zhenhai Hunyuan Staff collided directly!

An unimaginable shockwave radiated outward in all directions, its force terrifyingly immense.

Master Taishu was sent reeling, his water-formed body scattering momentarily before rapidly reforming and retreating backward.

The mysterious figure, however, was pushed back slightly.

“Drawing upon the ocean’s power, the Zhenhai Hunyuan Staff truly lives up to its title as the strongest artifact of the seas,” the raspy, unpleasant voice came from the armored figure.

“What?” Master Taishu’s face darkened. “He broke through the formation and suppressed me with a single strike?”

Ralph, the high demon, was still somewhat dazed.

“Do you still want to stay and wait for all the Xia demigods to come and surround you?” The mysterious figure in dark crimson armor cast a cold glance at Ralph. Ralph immediately became ecstatic, and without hesitation, he vanished in a flash, teleporting directly beside the mysterious figure. The formation was broken now—he could finally teleport! The Azure-armored Guard alone could not stop Ralph.

“Go!” The mysterious figure took Ralph and tore open a spatial rift, vanishing into it.

“Master!” The other two demigods and the Azure-armored Guard quickly rushed over.

Master Taishu frowned, his expression grim. “This mysterious figure in the dark crimson armor and horned helmet exudes a surging aura of dark magic. He must be from the Demon God Cult. But how could the Demon God Cult possess such a powerful figure? Or was it merely the might of an artifact? Regardless, his strength surpasses mine and even Mountain Master He’s. Though not enough to completely overwhelm us, the advantage is already quite clear!”
