“You flatter me too much. If you lift me too high, the fall will hurt like hell,” Dongbo Xueying joked, though his eyes gleamed with fighting spirit. Truthfully, he had no confidence against that powerful fat giant.
“Haha, don’t be so humble. I know you well enough,” Chen Jiu said, shifting his gaze toward three children wearing red bellybands and sitting on another arena platform. “I had no complaints about losing the previous match, but this arena… should be the one I’m most confident about.”
“Hmm,” Mei Shan Master and Sword Emperor both nodded in agreement.
Dongbo Xueying also concurred. Chen Jiu possessed eight arms, making him the most skilled at handling multiple opponents among them.
“I’ll try this arena again,” Chen Jiu said, immediately leaping onto the platform. The three adorable children sitting cross-legged there opened their eyes simultaneously, fixing cold stares on Chen Jiu.
“How cold these little brats are,” Chen Jiu muttered. Instantly, he manifested his eight arms, each thick and powerful, covered in gray metallic sheen. A terrifying, surging aura radiated from him. Each of his eight arms seemed to contain a roaring dragon’s head, staring fiercely at the three children. Though they appeared cute, these children were actually manifestations of powerful formations and rules—underestimating them could be fatal.
Even Sword Emperor had fallen to these three children.
“Attack!” one of the children commanded coldly.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
All three children, each wielding a massive hammer, transformed into blurs and charged forward.
“Fast!” Dongbo Xueying, watching from below, was startled. He was observing for his own upcoming battle. Though he had read reports, seeing it firsthand was completely different. Just watching, he was taken aback—the children’s speed surpassed all four of them, moving like the wind, their figures nearly blurred.
On the platform, Chen Jiu remained unfazed. His eight palms expanded, resembling giant fans.
His hands transformed—one moment fists, one moment claws, one moment fingers!
Each attack—either soft and flowing, or fierce and explosive, or illusory and deceptive.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The three children had completely transformed into whirlwinds, their figures completely blurred. The six hammers worked in perfect harmony, relentlessly hammering at Chen Jiu in rapid succession.
Like a windmill, or a precision machine.
The hammers struck in perfect coordination, almost not allowing a moment to breathe.
“Amazing,” Dongbo Xueying couldn’t help but change expression. “These children are already fast individually. Combined together, with six hammers working in unison… attacking together, they’re even faster than anyone can react. No wonder Mei Shan Master, known as the ‘Emperor of Martial Arts,’ had to rely on Spatial Truth to prevent them from surrounding him to barely win. Sword Emperor, with his ‘Wave World Truth’ that could bind and influence the three children, and his extraordinary sword techniques in close combat, still lost.”
After watching, Dongbo Xueying knew Sword Emperor’s defeat was well-earned.
In the real world, if they were allowed to surround him freely, he too would lose.
Though his spear techniques were powerful, he couldn’t defeat three opponents simultaneously.
“Eight arms really make a difference,” Dongbo Xueying smiled slightly.
They had six hammers.
Chen Jiu had eight arms!
Defending flawlessly, even though the children were fast, Chen Jiu’s ‘True Self Truth’ combined with ‘Eight Dragons Truth’ made his close combat skills surpass even Mei Shan Master and Sword Emperor.
“Chen Jiu is indeed impressive,” Mei Shan Master sighed. “What I said before was right—among our group, probably only he dares to confront these three children head-on like this. To cultivate the ‘True Self Truth’ to the point of manifesting eight arms, and each arm can fully exert its power, we must admire Chen Jiu.”
He himself cultivated the ‘True Self Truth,’ but hadn’t grown an extra limb or wing.
Because one’s natural body was already perfect. Adding extra limbs on top of that usually caused imbalance, even reducing one’s strength. So to grow eight arms and have each perfectly function was truly extraordinary.
“Roar!”
Chen Jiu suddenly roared fiercely, his face twisted with intensity.
He began attacking even more wildly, occasionally choosing to endure a few hammer strikes to land powerful blows on his enemies.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Finally, one child suddenly retreated, then completely dissipated.
With one child defeated, the other two quickly followed, vanishing as well.
“Huff… huff…” Chen Jiu stood on the platform, his face pale, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Earlier, he had endured over a dozen hammer strikes. Fortunately, with his divine armor and his powerful ‘True Self Body,’ he managed to survive.
“How was it?” Chen Jiu looked down from the platform, somewhat proudly.
“Don’t get too cocky,” Sword Emperor scoffed. “Winning one match and already so proud. Show me you can defeat that fat giant, then I’ll respect you.”
Chen Jiu’s face fell.
“I’ll try again,” Chen Jiu, feeling he had just won and was in good form, gritted his teeth and shot up as a streak of light toward the platform where the fat giant stood.
Boom!
The fat giant slapped again.
This time, Chen Jiu didn’t dare to confront directly, dodging frantically.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The fat giant’s hands moved like lightning, strike after strike enveloping him. He dodged one, but not ten. Soon, a massive palm slammed onto his arm, then crushed down onto his body. Chen Jiu’s eyes widened as he flew backward, ejected from the platform.
“Sigh, this time I lost even faster,” Chen Jiu muttered bitterly.
“You were too eager after your previous victory,” Mei Shan Master shook his head. “You can’t rush when fighting him. You need patience. And absolutely no direct confrontation. Once you clash head-on, we lose.”
“I know,” Chen Jiu said, clearly troubled.
This time, they all faced pressure, having signed oaths. Yet now they were stuck here. Chen Jiu felt he could beat the three children with his eight arms, but against the fat giant, he stood no chance. And the gap seemed quite large!
“I’ve lost both arenas. Chen Jiu and Emperor Wu both won against those three children,” Sword Emperor said with a smile. “Looks like we still need to cultivate more. Without significant improvement in strength, it’ll be hard to pass through the third vine-leaf world, not to mention the fourth and fifth.”
Mei Shan Master and Chen Jiu nodded.
“Dongbo Xueying,” Mei Shan Master turned to Dongbo, who was deep in thought. “Don’t think too much. Just go up and try. If you lose, you can fight again.”
“Dongbo won’t fall that easily,” Chen Jiu added.
“Chen Jiu, you have such strong confidence in Dongbo Xueying?” Sword Emperor was surprised. “You may have won against the three children, but that was thanks to your eight arms. Emperor Wu’s victory was even harder. Even against the relatively easier three children, Dongbo Xueying would find it difficult to win, let alone that final fat guy.”
“You’ll see soon enough,” Chen Jiu said.
“I’ll go try.”
Dongbo Xueying spoke.
He had observed for a while, gaining some understanding of both arenas. He had some ideas forming in his mind. But whether they’d work, he’d have to fight to find out!
Whoosh!
Dongbo Xueying leapt up, landing on the arena where the three children were.
Though the previous three children had been defeated and dissipated by Chen Jiu, new ones had now reformed on the platform, identical to the previous ones—adorable, yet cross-legged and eyes closed, each with two hammers beside them. As Dongbo Xueying landed, the three children opened their eyes simultaneously, fixing their gaze on him.
“Attack!” All three children grabbed their two hammers and transformed into blurs, moving with terrifying speed, surrounding him.
Dongbo Xueying stood calmly as the three children charged in unison.
Whoosh!
His crimson spear suddenly lashed out, the weapon like a rotating arc, carrying a terrifying, star-destroying destructive aura. Instantly, a terrifying vortex formed, pulling the three children toward it as he thrust the spear forward.
