Chapter 459: The Descent of Divine Weapons

Amidst the endless mountain ranges, three hundred and twenty-five deity-level experts remained. Each of them looked up to see thirty dazzling streaks of crimson light, like meteors, scattering and descending upon different regions of the mountains.

“Divine weapons have descended!”

“It’s the divine weapons!”

“Quick, quick, quick! This is our last chance—we must seize them!”

In an instant, the deity-level experts rushed toward the nearest crimson streak. Even the seven who had already manifested first-grade divine hearts fought with all their might to seize them. Dongbo Xueying, too, immediately traversed the Void World, swiftly heading toward a distant location.

The entire ‘Divine Court Battle’ could be divided into two phases: the early stage before the divine weapons descended, and the late stage once they appeared.

“The thirty Bloodslayer Divine Weapons landed closest to those ranked lower,” murmured the White Sand City Lord as he gazed upward. “The Divine Emperor truly went to great lengths to give those at the bottom a fighting chance.”

“What ‘great lengths’? He just wanted to make the Divine Court Battle more interesting and the outcome harder to predict,” chuckled Ronghai King beside him. “Brother White Sand, whenever it concerns His Majesty, you always sing his praises… What a pity he still hasn’t allowed you back into his tutelage.”

The White Sand City Lord immediately straightened his expression. “Of course I wish to return to my master’s side. But I committed a grave mistake—the fact that he spared my life is already a mercy! And I’m not just praising him. With his power, he has no need to give these deity-level experts any chance to rise. Yet he still holds this grand feast, allowing these young warriors the opportunity to soar, even granting them the Ten Thousand Blossoms True Fruit. That is true grace.”

“Alright, alright.”

“Let’s not speak of this anymore.”

The nearby Qin Junzhu and others fell silent. When it came to the Bloodblade Divine Emperor, the White Sand City Lord would never utter a word of dissent, always yearning to return to his master’s side. But once the Divine Emperor had cast him out, would he ever reverse his decision so easily?

“The Bloodslayer Divine Weapon landed too far from Dongbo—he likely won’t be able to seize it,” the Xia Clan deities and Yu Jingqiu watched nervously.

“Based on past Divine Court Battles, the Bloodslayer Divine Weapons always descend near the weaker deity-level experts,” remarked the Purple Thunder Emperor. “These weapons were personally forged by His Majesty—their power is extraordinary. Any participant, even those with first-grade divine hearts, will perish instantly if wounded by them, even if just grazed.”

“With such a weapon, one’s strength becomes incomparable.”

“Bloodslayer Divine Weapon…” Though Dongbo Xueying rushed toward it at full speed, his original position was simply too far. Fifteen others were closer, and their movement techniques were incredibly swift—some traversed entire mountains in an instant. Helpless, Dongbo Xueying could only watch as a black-armored man in the distance stretched out his hand and seized the crimson stone embedded in the mountainside.

The moment he grasped it, the red stone transformed into a long, blood-colored blade.

“Hahaha!” The black-armored man laughed triumphantly. “Finally! With this Bloodslayer Divine Weapon, even though I’m ranked in the 500s now, I still have a chance to break into the top 100!”

His gaze swept his surroundings, where five deity-level experts had already slowed their approach.

“Congratulations.”

“Didn’t expect you to be the fastest.”

“Let’s go.” The five turned and left—they had been part of the same team, bound by an oath not to harm one another. Without such an oath, how could they have trusted each other enough to cooperate? Now that the black-armored man had seized the weapon, they had no choice but to withdraw.

“Kill him!”

“Surround him!”

“Take the Bloodslayer Divine Weapon!”

Though the five departed, other deity-level experts surged forward, eager to claim the weapon for themselves.

The black-armored man sneered. “Come, if you dare!” With a single step, he warped space and fled, darting past the mountain’s edge before reappearing beside a venomous insect. A flash of his blade—and the purple-armored creature, despite its hardened shell, was instantly sliced open. Without pause, the black-armored man vanished again, while the insect writhed midair before plummeting lifelessly to the ground, its body dissipating into the mountain’s essence.

One strike—and the purple insect was dead!

With a Bloodslayer Divine Weapon in hand, none dared to let it touch their flesh. A single scratch meant certain death.

“I must seize one,” Dongbo Xueying pressed onward. “The weapon’s power is too great—it kills venomous creatures in a single strike. If left unchecked, the wielder could easily slaughter their way into the top 100. Even though I’m currently ranked 16th, if I’m eliminated too early, others will surpass me.”

Without a Bloodslayer Divine Weapon, maintaining a top-100 rank would be extremely difficult. But with one, even if eventually overwhelmed, the sheer number of kills would secure a high ranking.

“Surround him!”

“Don’t let him escape!”

The pursuing deity-level experts had already sprung into action.

A green chain streaked across the sky, multiplying into countless tendrils that coiled toward the fleeing black-armored man. His expression darkened.

“Your survival skills are too weak—you can’t keep the weapon,” a deep voice boomed as black discs materialized around him, swarming like locusts.

“Die!” A violet streak pierced through the air, striking toward the black-armored man’s chest.

The Bloodslayer Divine Weapon was deadly—but only if it could touch its target. The attackers, however, unleashed long-range spells and projectiles, refusing to engage in close combat.

United in purpose, they focused their assault on the black-armored man.

“You think you can kill me?” the man snarled, his movements erratic. His blade suddenly expanded—stretching for thousands of miles—as crimson slashes filled the air, forcing his pursuers to retreat.

The black-armored man was no weakling. His swordsmanship was formidable, and with an Empyrean God-level secret art, he could endure several hits before falling. But his enemies? A single nick from his blade would doom them.

Fighting defensively, he continued fleeing, desperate to shake off his pursuers.

Then—his heart sank.

A figure closed in from the distance, slipping past the mountain’s edge.

“Anhai Prefecture’s Dongbo!”

Initially, five had abandoned the chase. Now, only twelve remained in pursuit—including Dongbo Xueying. But due to the vast distance, only seven had managed to engage the black-armored man thus far.

These seven, wary of the Bloodslayer Divine Weapon, fought at range, their effectiveness diminished. Their uncoordinated attacks left openings, allowing the black-armored man to hold his ground.

But Dongbo Xueying?

He was different.

“Damn it!” The black-armored man redoubled his efforts to escape. Dongbo Xueying posed a far greater threat than the other seven.

Though one among them rivaled Dongbo in strength, none dared to fight up close.

But Dongbo Xueying did.

His three Void World avatars feared nothing—unaffected by the Bloodslayer Divine Weapon, they could attack relentlessly.

And now, they had caught up.

“Too late.”

With a thought, three star-blue-robed youths materialized beside the black-armored man. Blades and spears flashed—unhindered by injury, the avatars struck without restraint. In moments, they overwhelmed the black-armored man, and a spear thrust pierced his abdomen.

Had it not been for Jiushe, Dongbo Xueying would have been Anhai Prefecture’s undisputed champion.

The black-armored man, deemed weak by the Bloodblade Divine Emperor, was no match. In Anhai Prefecture, he might rank around thirtieth. Against Void World avatars, his Bloodslayer Divine Weapon was useless. One-on-one, he stood no chance.

“Don’t let Dongbo take it!” The seven pursuers panicked. They knew the black-armored man was finished—but they couldn’t allow Dongbo Xueying to claim the weapon.

Once in his hands, he would become an even greater menace.

Four more deity-level experts closed in from behind.

“Let’s join forces!” they communicated urgently. If Dongbo Xueying seized the weapon, reclaiming it would be near impossible.

The battle had reached its climax.
