Chapter 643: The First Prey

Through the thick crimson hue,

Dongbo Xueying finally felt his freedom restored. He slowly descended, landing atop a mountain peak, gazing upon the vast world before him. The sky was a deep blood-red, while the ground was pitch-black, with faint traces of blood seeping through the darkness.

“Blood Fiend Domain,” Dongbo Xueying murmured softly. “The Blood Fiend Domain, one of the Lower Three Domains.”

The Six Paths Heavenly Wheel, created by the Demon Ancestor, consisted of six domain worlds.

Each of these six domains concealed one of the Demon Ancestor’s legacies—six domains, six inheritances. Of course, this was merely one of the many treasures within the Six Paths Heavenly Wheel. Supreme techniques were not suited for everyone. For instance, Dongbo Xueying cultivated the ‘Void Path.’ Unless a supreme technique aligned with the Void Path, he could never reach the highest levels of mastery.

The Six Paths Heavenly Wheel held countless treasures, far more alluring to cultivators than the six inheritances themselves.

“According to the information my master shared,” Dongbo Xueying thought to himself, “the Lower Three Domains are currently guarded only by Emperor Wuqu, who resides in the most critical ‘Black Rain Domain.’ The other two worlds of the Lower Three Domains—’Blood Fiend Domain’ and ‘Frost Domain’—are occupied by the Mother Goddess Sect’s Protectors.” He nodded slightly. “But now, the Blood Fiend Domain has one more inhabitant—me.”

*Heh heh, Mother Goddess Sect… Outside, you didn’t dare act. But here in the Blood Fiend Domain, you should have the courage, right?*

Dongbo Xueying was rather eager.

“No need to seek them out. They’ll come to me soon enough.” With that, he transformed into a streak of light, streaking across the sky toward the distance.

For the sake of disguise, he maintained his usual flight speed.

The Mother Goddess Sect could easily track him through karma.

But he had no means of locating them! After all, they bore no karma traces. If they truly hid, even the Bloodblade Thearch would struggle to find them.

So…

If the Mother Goddess Sect didn’t act, Dongbo Xueying wouldn’t foolishly wait. His purpose in coming to the Blood Fiend Domain wasn’t just to confront them—it was also to temper himself! This was the edge of the Dark Abyss, a place nearly comparable to the Heartlake Island Ruins. Back then, he had only ventured into the relatively safer ‘Destruction Domain’ of Heartlake Island, avoiding the other areas. Even when the Bloodfire Gate opened, he hadn’t dared enter.

Now, reviewing the intelligence his master had provided, he realized his past choices had been wise.

**Divine Realm, a floating continent amidst the void, radiant with boundless light.**

Within a hidden hall, a silver-robed elder sat cross-legged.

“It’s time to check Dongbo Xueying’s location,” the elder muttered, probing through karma.

Previously, the Mother Goddess Sect had been confident in seizing the treasures Dongbo Xueying carried, monitoring him relentlessly. The moment he left the Bloodblade Divine Court’s territory, they had dispatched the golden-furred ape.

But this time was different. The Mother Goddess Sect had lost confidence in killing Dongbo Xueying. They believed he could easily teleport away again. Moreover, their own experts couldn’t track him via karma. With the Bamboo Sage dead, their available operatives were limited—each one formidable, at least at the level of an ordinary True God.

With such power and status, they couldn’t afford to monitor someone constantly. A casual check each day sufficed.

Watching nonstop? Too exhausting.

Without sufficient rewards… even mighty figures wouldn’t bother.

The Mother Goddess Sect merely kept an eye on Dongbo Xueying—they weren’t desperate enough to go mad over him.

*Hmph, he’s finally left the material world. Hmm?* The silver-robed elder’s eyes widened. *He’s inside the Six Paths Heavenly Wheel! The Wheel is incredibly secretive. Only after the Sect Leader informed me did I learn its location. To think a mere Four-Heavens Skygod like Dongbo Xueying would dare enter! Then again, his strength now reaches the threshold of a Paragon. He has the qualifications to venture there.*

“Sect Leader,” the elder immediately sent a message.

His status was clearly different from the Bamboo Sage’s. He enjoyed greater trust from the Mother Goddess Sect, even able to contact the Sect Leader directly.

“Dongbo Xueying has left the material world. He has gone to the edge of the Dark Abyss—the Six Paths Heavenly Wheel. Based on my senses, he has entered the Blood Fiend Domain,” the elder reported.

**Edge of the Abyss, within the Blood Fiend Domain of the Six Paths Heavenly Wheel.**

On a desolate plain stood five simple stone huts, each housing a Protector of the Mother Goddess Sect.

In the outermost hut, a hunched man curled up like a sleeping child. His green hair sprawled wildly, its countless strands twitching and swaying even in slumber.

“Protector Chengyun,” a distant voice resonated in his mind.

The hunched man opened his eyes, their pupils gleaming with an eerie green light.

“Sect Leader,” he responded, sitting up cross-legged.

“Protector Chengyun, the cultivator Dongbo Xueying from this universe has entered the Blood Fiend Domain. Initially, we weren’t in a hurry to act against him. But now that he’s here, the Mother Goddess has granted us an opportunity,” the Sect Leader’s voice intoned. “Dongbo Xueying is an exceptionally powerful Four-Heavens Skygod. His armor is formidable, and he possesses an elusive escape technique. Thus, I need you to restrain him with your spatial-binding abilities. I want to see if he can teleport away this time.”

“Understood, Sect Leader,” the hunched man replied.

“Be fully prepared to counter his escape technique. However, I suspect such a technique cannot be used freely. Even the master of the Spacetime Island in this universe lacks such an overpowering escape method. It’s likely a one-time treasure or has severe limitations. Your strike this time… may very well succeed in capturing him.”

“If you capture him, there’s no need to kill him. Seal his divine heart and bring him to me. I will have the other Sect Leaders probe his mind and uncover his secrets.”

“I will spare no effort to capture him,” the hunched man declared with confidence.

The communication ended.

Rising, the hunched man stepped out of his hut.

As he emerged, another figure exited a neighboring stone dwelling—a towering, muscular being with a pair of tusks, his skin a dark crimson. The brute grinned at the hunched man. “Brother Chengyun, where are you off to? We’re almost done refining. We’ll be heading out soon for another attempt.”

“Brother Huozhu, the Sect Leader has ordered me to capture Dongbo Xueying,” the hunched man replied.

“Oh? Dongbo Xueying?” The dark-red brute chuckled. “I’ve heard of him—a genius Four-Heavens Skygod from this universe. They say he even fought the Leaf Sage. To think he’d dare enter the Blood Fiend Domain. Make sure you succeed.”

“Of course,” the hunched man nodded. “As long as he lacks that teleportation ability, I’ll capture him and seal his divine heart. Once that’s done, his fate will be in our hands.”

“Go on then. Return quickly. The refinement should be complete by the time you’re back.”

With a step, the hunched man’s body turned translucent, merging into the void.

He set off toward Dongbo Xueying’s location. The Sect Leader had provided only a rough estimate of the target’s position. While karma allowed tracking, pinpointing an exact location within the Blood Fiend Domain was exceedingly difficult.

For two full days, he traveled.

Though he could merge with the void, the Blood Fiend Domain suppressed the laws of heaven and earth. The Mother Goddess Sect’s so-called “fools” were mocked by the Spacetime Island Lord and the Bloodblade Thearch precisely because of their low comprehension. Protector Chengyun, despite being a Protector—equivalent to a Paragon—had a mere Four-Heavens Skygod’s level of insight.

With such meager comprehension, he had no choice but to fly conventionally.

Fortunately, the Sect Leader periodically updated Dongbo Xueying’s approximate location.

**”Found him.”**

Protector Chengyun’s terrifying vision locked onto a distant streak of light.

*Hmph, though renowned for his physical prowess, his flight speed is far slower than mine. There’s no escape for him.*

A cold smirk curled his lips.

Meanwhile, in the distance…

Dongbo Xueying flew at his usual speed.

“The Blood Fiend Domain is truly vast.” As he soared, an illusory world expanded around him, covering an immense area—including Protector Chengyun’s position. “I’ve flown for so long, yet the Mother Goddess Sect only just arrived. Judging by his aura, he’s a Protector—equivalent to one of our Paragons.”

His Void World enveloped Protector Chengyun completely, allowing him to observe every minute detail—the pores on the hunched man’s face, the sneer twisting his lips, the icy glint in his eyes.

Yet Protector Chengyun remained utterly unaware.
