Chapter 726: The Legacy of the Void Walker

After transporting Dongbo Xueying and the others out of the Chaos Flying Vessel, the vessel sealed itself completely. Neither the Rulers nor the Cult Masters of the Mother Goddess Cult could peer inside.

The Rulers, Dongbo Xueying, and the others waited in the void outside.

“Dongbo,” Fire Devil Venerable, standing nearby, gazed at the Chaos Flying Vessel and transmitted his voice, “Do you think that Bone Qianluo might pull something underhanded? He promised to swear an oath and protect his allies. But now that he’s kicked us all out, leaving only Palace Master Beixuan inside, could he be plotting some sinister scheme against her?”

“Hard to say,” Dongbo Xueying admitted, uncertain.

Judging by Bone Qianluo’s aura, he was a cold, ruthless, and malevolent being who had slaughtered countless lives. Moreover, his background was extraordinary—it wouldn’t be surprising if he had some unknown, insidious tricks up his sleeve.

Bloodblade Divine Emperor and the others waited in silence.

After a full half-hour,

Palace Master Beixuan finally drifted out of the Chaos Flying Vessel. The ten Rulers and the assembled Venerables immediately approached her.

“Her aura seems much stronger now,” Dongbo Xueying observed inwardly. It appeared that Palace Master Beixuan’s physical form had grown more formidable.

“Honored Rulers,” Palace Master Beixuan bowed respectfully.

“Did Bone Qianluo keep his word?” Bloodblade Divine Emperor inquired.

Palace Master Beixuan nodded.

“Stay still. I need to examine your soul,” Bloodblade Divine Emperor reached out. Palace Master Beixuan complied. Though she believed she hadn’t been ensnared in any hidden schemes, she feared that some traps might be beyond her current perception. Bloodblade Divine Emperor, the strongest being in the universe with unfathomable power, was not easily deceived.

Bone Qianluo had formidable backing, but so did Bloodblade Divine Emperor.

The Divine Emperor’s hand rested on Palace Master Beixuan’s shoulder, and an invisible force seeped into her body. She offered no resistance as the energy entered her sea of consciousness, probing her True God Heart.

After a moment,

Bloodblade Divine Emperor withdrew his hand. The other Rulers watched him intently, as did the Venerables—including Palace Master Beixuan herself. The Divine Emperor smiled. “Bone Qianluo did leave a minor imprint on Beixuan’s True God Heart, but it’s a protective measure, not a trap.”

Everyone exhaled in relief.

“Your Majesty, regarding the Chaos Flying Vessel—” Palace Master Beixuan began.

“Later,” Bloodblade Divine Emperor interrupted. “We’ll discuss it in detail at my Divine Court. Moreover, we’ll need to negotiate with Bone Qianluo through you.”

Next, the Rulers inspected the treasures left behind by the Mother Goddess Cult’s Protectors. Only the terrifying weapon was confiscated by them; the rest were distributed among Dongbo Xueying and the others. That weapon required the infusion of Ruler-level power to charge and could only be unleashed once. In the hands of a Ruler, it could be used continuously in battle, but for Venerables, it was a one-time trump card.

The other treasures were unremarkable. Though the Mother Goddess Cult had gone all-in for this assault on the Chaos Flying Vessel, they had anticipated failure and thus left nothing too valuable for the cultivators. The spoils were meager.

Soon, the group dispersed, each returning to their respective domains.

The Rulers departed with Palace Master Beixuan.

Black Fog Sea, Imperial Manor.

In the courtyard,

A thick layer of snow blanketed the ground. The battle within the Chaos Flying Vessel had lasted only two days, and the accumulated snow in the manor had yet to melt.

Wine simmered on a low table as Dongbo Xueying sat across from Yu Jingqiu, chatting about the recent events in the Chaos Flying Vessel.

“So much happened in just two short days,” Yu Jingqiu sighed as she poured wine for Dongbo Xueying. “To Yuer and Qingyao, our days of cultivation seemed ordinary. They had no idea a shadow of calamity loomed over us all… Had you failed, the Mother Goddess Cult, aided by the Chaos Flying Vessel, might have truly defeated our side. Countless lives would have perished, and even weaklings like us wouldn’t have escaped.”

“Jingqiu, I would never let that happen,” Dongbo Xueying said, gazing at his wife.

Yu Jingqiu smiled faintly, warmth flooding her heart.

She had always believed that her reincarnation was the wisest decision of her life.

“This involves two universes—it’s on a level far beyond me. All I can do is pour you wine here,” Yu Jingqiu said.

“Hahaha… This time, I was able to contribute. But the coming Ruler-level war? I’ve no place in that,” Dongbo Xueying shook his head. Though the Black Gourd was powerful, it was meant for self-preservation—allowing him to survive against mighty Rulers. But killing a Ruler? That was beyond hope. The Rulers’ realms far surpassed his.

As for the Mother Goddess Cult, once they reached the Cult Master level, their power underwent a qualitative transformation, making them true rivals to the cultivators’ Rulers.

“The Ruler-level war will depend on Master and the others,” Dongbo Xueying said. “With the Chaos Flying Vessel now on our side, our chances of victory must be ninety-nine percent!”

Yet even as he spoke,

A faint tension coiled in Dongbo Xueying’s heart. The Mother Goddess Cult would never surrender—they would fight with desperate, frenzied resistance. What if the tide turned? What if their side lost? The thought of countless lives perishing sent a chill down his spine.

“Dongbo Xueying, now that you’ve refined the Black Gourd, it’s time to receive the Voidwalker’s legacy,” the artifact spirit transmitted.

“The Voidwalker’s legacy?” Dongbo Xueying’s eyes gleamed. Then he glanced at his wife, who sat across from him, sharing fruit wine. “No need to rush. I’ll spend some time with Jingqiu first. After accompanying my wife, I’ll set out.”

Within the vast hall of the Mother Goddess Cult,

The Cult Masters sat cross-legged, their auras vast and profound. Yet the atmosphere was thick with tension.

“After negotiations, Bone Qianluo has consented to assist the cultivators,” declared the spectral projection of Bloody Overlord Nile.

“He actually agreed!”

“Damn it!”

“How could he—”

The Cult Masters felt as though doom loomed over them. Despite their immense power, they were suffocating under the weight of impending annihilation. The proximity of death only fueled their fury. Having reached such heights, they would never resign themselves to defeat. Even in death, they would fight back—perhaps a miracle would emerge?

“It’s all because of Dongbo Xueying! He snatched victory from our grasp. Otherwise, the Chaos Flying Vessel would be ours!”

“Him again!”

“So many Protectors fell by his hand.”

They were not without emotion. The Protectors, who had lived as long as they had, were deeply cherished—some like family. Their mass slaughter had long stoked an unquenchable hatred for Dongbo Xueying. And now, this defeat might lead to their side’s total annihilation in the final battle. The thought only deepened their rage.

“Before the final battle, we must kill Dongbo Xueying—to vent our fury. If we don’t, I’ll never find peace!” roared a deep-yellow-skinned giant.

“Kill him,” a cold, black-armored woman agreed. Her only disciple had been slain by Dongbo Xueying’s Black Gourd.

Tusked Cult Master surveyed the others and nodded. “That Black Gourd of his may be crude, but its power is immense. Even Rulers dare not face it head-on. In Dongbo Xueying’s hands, it’s a minor threat—but in ours, it could turn the tide in battle. We’ll wait for him to leave Bloodblade Divine Court’s territory, then strike, seize the gourd.”

“Agreed,” the others nodded. Within the Divine Court’s domain, Bloodblade Divine Emperor could arrive instantly—making any attack there impossible.

“Track his location,” Tusked Cult Master ordered.

Soon, word came—

“Dongbo Xueying’s true body remains in the Material Realm, but his avatar has vanished. His karma is untraceable.”

“What? His karma’s gone again?” Tusked Cult Master and the others were stunned.

Little did they know—

Dongbo Xueying had already stepped into the legacy ground of the Voidwalker!
