Chapter 19: Secret Tradition: Thousandfold Mountains!

The young man’s shot also pierced the target, leaving a hole the size of an egg, but the impact point was still quite far from the bullseye. Compared to his usual performance, it was a bit off, though even his worst shots were made with a gun that had a sight.

“Seventy points!” The examiner announced in a monotonous tone.

The young man felt a bit disappointed but then quickly felt a sense of pride, as this was his best score so far.

“It’s your turn!” He glared at Qian Ye and said fiercely.

Qian Ye smiled faintly, lifted the primordial force gun, charged and aimed in one fluid motion, and fired a shot.

A red primordial force bullet sped toward the target, but its landing point was clearly off, barely in the fifty-point range.

The young man’s face immediately brightened, but then his smile froze.

With a loud boom, the red primordial force bullet exploded on the target, shattering more than half of it! The bullseye area was naturally obliterated.

“One hundred points!” Upon hearing the instructor’s announcement, the young man was stunned, exclaiming, “This is allowed?”

Of course, it was.

In the following moving target test, Qian Ye casually fired another shot. Though the concentrated primordial force bullet slightly deviated from the bullseye, it shattered the entire target. Qian Ye achieved full marks once again.

In the subsequent long-range, short-range, dynamic shooting, and rapid-fire tests, Qian Ye consistently shattered the targets, naturally scoring full marks each time.

The young man could no longer muster a smile.

He realized that Qian Ye’s perfect scores were not a fluke. To say the least, with the same examination gun that he could only manage a slightly larger hole than others with all his might, Qian Ye managed to shatter the target with every shot. The gap lay in the strength of their primordial force!

As the exam concluded, the young man directly placed a necklace in Qian Ye’s hand and said, “I’m Wei Po Tian! My family, the Weis, has some reputation in the Far East Province. If you ever have the time to visit, feel free to ask for our help.”

Upon hearing this mighty name, Qian Ye paused, remembering that the identification tag on the young man’s badge read Wei Qi Yang.

Seeing Qian Ye’s expression, the young man puffed out his chest and proclaimed loudly, “Po Tian is the name I gave myself, isn’t it impressive? Am I not awe-inspiring? I, Wei Po Tian, will become a man who can shatter the sky with a single punch!”

Qian Ye accepted the necklace, feeling a slight change in his perception of Wei Po Tian. This guy was a man of his word, though his demeanor was rough and not what one would expect from a member of a distinguished family. Plus, the name was a bit ridiculous, but otherwise, he didn’t have many flaws.

On the way to the next exam, Qian Ye finally asked a question that had been bugging him: “Why did you pick on me earlier? Because of my identity?”

Wei Po Tian scoffed at the suggestion, “Identity? Commoner? Ha, I’m not one of those self-righteous fools. Besides, commoners who can stand here are all formidable. I picked on you simply because of your face!”

Qian Ye touched his face and mused, “My face? Oh, I see. You mean I look like one of your enemies, right?”

Wei Po Tian shook his head, “No way! I just can’t stand pretty boys! Seeing your face makes me want to punch it! How can you be prettier than a woman?!”

Hearing this reason, Qian Ye felt his hand itch, wanting to land a punch, perhaps… on a certain man’s nose who wanted to shatter the sky.

Wei Po Tian suddenly grinned mischievously and whispered, “Wanna make another bet? Let’s wager on the next exam. Same stakes as before. If you lose, give me back the necklace!”

Qian Ye glanced at him and replied, “But you only have one necklace.”

Wei Po Tian raised his wrist, “I’ve got this!” On his wrist was a bracelet, identical in material to the necklace, with a nameplate hanging from it.

Qian Ye frowned, “I don’t think this thing is very useful. With your… ahem, with your appearance, do you really have any authority in your family?”

Wei Po Tian’s face turned green with anger, “Whatever, I’ll get the necklace back after the next exam. You don’t need to worry about my authority!”

The next exam was hand-to-hand combat.

The rules were simple: one-on-one fights, anyone could challenge anyone, but challenges could not be refused. Regardless of how many times one lost, five victories were required to pass, and the ranking was determined by the win rate.

The massive field was divided into over a hundred combat arenas, each with a military official as a referee.

As soon as Qian Ye stepped onto the arena, Wei Po Tian stood in front of him, cracking his knuckles with a sinister grin.

“Hey, Lin, you still have time to surrender now to avoid a beating later!” Wei Po Tian resumed his slick tone.

Qian Ye gave a vague smile, “But it’s too late for you to surrender now.”

Wei Po Tian’s face darkened, and he sneered, “Then I’ll have to make you a pig’s head! Don’t go crying to everyone that I bullied you with my family status!”

Wei Po Tian took a wide stance, slowly encircling his arms. As primordial force surged, his aura transformed, becoming overwhelmingly solid, like a mountain range blocking Qian Ye’s path!

“I’ll show you true secret fighting techniques! Wei Family Secret: A Thousand Mountains!” Wei Po Tian’s voice and aura changed entirely, exuding immense power and stability, as if he had turned into someone else.

Qian Ye felt an invisible pressure approaching.

Secret fighting techniques indeed existed! During his training at the Yellow Springs, Long Hai mentioned that some noble families and sects possessed such powerful, arcane, and potent techniques based on primordial force.

However, the Yellow Springs never taught any systematic fighting techniques. Long Hai only explained basic principles, vital points, and how to minimize self-injury while maximizing damage to the opponent.

This was Qian Ye’s first encounter with a genuine fighting technique! He was a bit nervous, but more excited, eager for a fierce battle!

Wei Po Tian gestured, “Come on, let you make the first move! If I start, you won’t get another chance!”

The Yellow Springs had taught Qian Ye much, but not courtesy. Without hesitation, before Wei Po Tian finished speaking, Qian Ye stepped forward and delivered a powerful roundhouse kick!

The kick was as swift as thunder, creating a crisp sound in the air!

As Qian Ye kicked, Wei Po Tian gasped, his face changing color! His reaction was incredibly fast, instantly shifting his stance, lowering his body, and blocking the kick with his arms.

A muffled thud sounded as Qian Ye’s kick sent Wei Po Tian flying several meters! The crackling sounds were the result of their primordial forces clashing.

Qian Ye grunted; Wei Po Tian’s response was fast, and his defense was skillful, but the strength of the impact was much weaker than expected.

This kick was only a probing strike, using about 80% of Qian Ye’s strength, yet it sent Wei Po Tian flying!

In the Yellow Springs, most of Qian Ye’s classmates could effortlessly block such a kick.

Seeing Wei Po Tian’s shock, Qian Ye didn’t hesitate. His right leg flashed, delivering another roundhouse kick. This time, with full force!

Wei Po Tian, hearing the subtle crackling, paled. With a strange yell, a yellowish light enveloped him. He protected himself with his arms and charged, using offense as defense. He had no other choice; if he didn’t counterattack, he would be kicked out of the arena.

Another muffled boom echoed, and Wei Po Tian didn’t retreat! But this wasn’t good, as he couldn’t dissipate the force of Qian Ye’s powerful kick by retreating.

Wei Po Tian struggled to suppress the rising blood in his chest, shocked and frustrated. The kick’s power was on par with a Level Three fighter! If Qian Ye, under seventeen, had Level Three strength, why would he even take the exam? The top armies would recruit him directly.

Before he could even complain, Qian Ye pounced, unleashing a storm of punches, kicks, knee strikes, and elbow blows, all aimed at vital points with devastating force.

Wei Po Tian, like a small boat in a storm, managed to endure seven or eight attacks, but his defenses crumbled. Qian Ye parted his arms and landed a gentle blow to his abdomen.

Gentle by Qian Ye’s standards, as he had already pulled back half his strength. But Wei Po Tian’s abdomen was surprisingly soft, and Qian Ye’s fist sank in. If Qian Ye had used full force, his organs might have been pulverized.

Qian Ye was surprised. The abdomen housed the sea of qi, where the primordial force vortex condensed. Knowing his strength was unusually heavy, he held back, not expecting to resolve it with one punch.

If this punch hit a training camp student, it would cause minimal effect. Qian Ye had prepared several follow-up moves to incapacitate without maiming, but now they seemed unnecessary.

Wei Po Tian, the master of the Wei Family Secret: A Thousand Mountains, appeared to be taken down with a single punch.

Qian Ye backed away, putting distance between them.

Wei Po Tian’s face alternated between pale and green. Shaking, he pointed at Qian Ye, incredulous, managing to say, “Is this allowed?” Then he collapsed to his knees, vomiting.
