Chapter 134: Devoured

“Where did this brat come from?! How is it possible for him to appear like this?!” The members of the Rain Clan were going mad. “Does justice still exist in this world?! This is an unexpected catastrophe! Such a despicable act, how could he fall down from the sky?! What could be left after such destruction?! The Taiyi True Water is sure to sense danger and flee!”

“The true water cleansed that little rascal’s dirty face, allowing them to recognize him at first sight,” someone cried. “He struck us like flames colliding with our inner pillars, so full of resentment that his fury fills the sky. We’re about to burst out of rage.”

“It’s you?!” one shouted.

“I @#¥&#%……!!!”

The entire Rain Clan was boiling with rage. They seemed on the verge of losing control of themselves entirely, their bodies radiating heat from within. All their effort, sweat, even the expenditure of their Rain God’s Sacred Edict had nearly led to success—when this troublemaking boy dropped right out of the sky to disturb the Taiyi True Water!

The Rain Clan had no choice but to accept the reality before them—it was no illusion; the pest was still splashing wildly inside the basin as waves blossomed wherever he rolled about in the water. He gleefully guzzled great amounts.

The Rain Clan screamed in anguish—this torment pierced deeper than cutting into their flesh. They already knew: the Taiyi True Water was lost to them forever.

“Kill him!” came one voice.

“No! Hurry, seize the divine essence before it escapes!” cried another.

Such opposing commands split the clan. Some were utterly consumed by anger, ignoring all logic or consequence, aiming deadly blows toward the young boy in sheer desperation to crush him into paste. Others held onto their rational minds enough to prioritize retrieving what precious liquid they could and preventing its escape into the sands where it would become irretrievable.

Divergent yet united, people acted simultaneously—one group slashing directly at the child’s head while others prepared vessels to gather some water.

BOOM! Chaos erupted here—runes flew in every direction, densely scattering across the heavens like swarms of bees.

The Taiyi True Water had naturally grown restless upon sensing danger, violently striving for escape from the jade cauldron.

“Stay!” the small boy uttered lightly. Out from hiding, he produced a magical pearl, radiant and brilliant, forming around himself a protective dome blocking off all incoming glyph attacks and briefly calming the struggling divine essence.

Both astonished and furious, the members of the Rain Clan found their assaults ineffective—their runes blocked effortlessly. For now, the luminous barrier resisted their efforts with ease. What manner of treasure could possess such power?

“It’s the Luminance Orb!” screamed Yu Wencheng, veins bulging with rage across his temple. How infuriating, that at a time so crucial their foe would unveil such a wondrous item, rendering their efforts fruitless, their hearts filled with despair.

“This orb’s merely shaped from fragments of an ancient original,” someone shouted back. “Quickly, all of us together—we can break through!”

All gathered strength surged forth—a flurry of runes clashed against each other, pounding relentlessly on the glowing shield.

“Switch tactics—activate raw physical force, wield your weapons to strike directly. Otherwise, the glow of the inscriptions will only draw interference and be immobilized,” ordered Master Yu Kun to his disciples.

Blades encircled the jade cauldron, clashing in perfect unison with metallic thunder, creating the illusion of a colossal forge being hammered, ringing sharply in their ears.

Clutching the Luminance Orb tightly and indifferent to external chaos, the boy drank greedily. His talisman—an artifact carried over by Xiao Tian precisely designed for controlling the volatile nature of the Taiyi True Water—prevented it from slipping away. Yet, due to being a mere fragment of the whole, much internal runework having long perished, it performed inadequately.

Not soon after settling again, the True Water rekindled its restlessness.

“Don’t do this!” the boy shouted. While continuing his consumption, something odd happened—the sacred liquid sprouted life and rushed forcefully up his nostrils.

Further complicating matters was its stubborn refusal to remain inside. It pushed desperately to escape his oral containment. Ultimately, his ears and eyes emitted glows; wisps of the spiritual essence scattered outward defiantly, resisting complete assimilation, even squeezing past bodily pores in shimmering auroras.

“It became sentient!” he lamented, activating ancient rune mysteries described within *the Primordial Scripture*, endeavoring transformation. He sealed his pores shut and trapped air flow via orifices—his mouth remaining the sole outlet.

Glub-glub—sip-by-gulp, he gulped heartily while the water fought furiously to escape their new confines. But, eventually, his determination prevailed—he swallowed more than escaped.

Furious cries rang out among the Rain Clan as madness set in. This divine substance was essential in medicinal alchemy and weapon forging—who was this ignorant nuisance to just barge in blind without question or reverence?! Could he withstand its potent energy?

“Destroy the barrier and kill him!”

Fueled further by anger, groups attacked recklessly but failed repeatedly—the shimmering curtain refused collapse no matter how powerful the techniques deployed.

“Ouch! My stomach hurts?” The boy lifted his head from amidst the swirling waters—large eyes darting curiously, absorbing surrounding details.

“You’ll burst if you keep gulping like that, you damned brat!” Master Yu Kun spat curses in helpless rage.

Yet undeterred, those big innocent eyes blinked rapidly. If these sacred waters worked well as legendary medicine, wouldn’t consuming it prove okay? So once more—with loud gurgles, he resumed his intake operation.

“Forget drinking—it needs refinement first! Haven’t you guzzled several pounds worth yet?!!” Several Rain clansmen almost wept openly; excessive wastage indeed!

Paying them no heed, he tightened nasal and auditory openings while compressing every last pore, forcing massive intakes until his little tummy puffed noticeably outward.

WHUMMMM… Light emanating from the Luminance Orb weakened suddenly, flickering uncertainly—the charm was clearly fading rapidly.

Knowing his opportunity waned rapidly, he quickly produced an ornate jade container. Within instants, filled with liquid essence, the orb followed.

Summoning forth golden bone scissors—a snip severed the Jade Cauldron cleanly. A single kick sent flying debris outward.

Chaos broke completely—wild with frenzy, countless clan members stampeded toward gathering whatever they could salvage. Alas, liberated from constraints too late, the escaping Taiyi water transformed into vibrant vapor trails flitting past everyone—fleeing fast into distance.

“Stop it!” Many called out while turning on him fiercely with murder in mind. Others attempted capturing floating vapors in containers desperately seeking residual traces.

Amidst the disarray, taking advantage, the little brat responded instinctively, countering incoming artifacts mid-air with a fierce downward stomp sending him soaring skyward again.

“You won’t get far!” Eyes blazing red hot with rage, Rain warriors swore revenge. Falling down like stars crushed grand hopes for celestial ascension, plunging generations of ambitions into abyssal hell depths. Such hatred would demand multiple deaths to satiate fully.

“Do you think flight saves you?!” roared collective defiance echoing throughout. Divine incantations soared overhead sealing escape routes. Some mounted flying artifacts, pursuing relentlessly above.

“He escaped! Impossible!!! He really disappeared!!!” screamed stunned watchers as near hysteria threatened. Just then appeared leisurely—an enormous red bird—radiantly feathered wings fanning magnificently arrived. Graceful yet ostentatious—it scooped up the brat gently before executing dramatic retreat. Winking flirtatiously backward as it vanished completely, teasing laughter trailing behind.

Yu Wencheng and Yu Kun’s visages blackened to a purple hue—they cursed the return of that hated fiery-winged creature. Previously unnoticed by fellow kin during prior pursuits, its sudden reappearance caught many unaware.

“Death awaits! Death to the demon-child!!” Anguished sobs and screams echoed. All that effort rendered null—it defied belief how a drop of holy water could flee beyond recall, vanishing underground alongside the magical vine root—completely beyond reach.

A fate more painful than death itself awaited—clan ascendancy crushed beneath juvenile fists. Hatred boiled uncontrollably. With the blessings of deities brought along for ritual usage, assured victory shattered cruelly upon arrival of the devilish youth who overturned everything. They accomplished nothing except enriching him instead.

“Damnation!!!” Yu Wencheng and Yu Kun shuddered furiously, spitting ghostly mists from their nostrils, flames issuing forth from ears while sparks sparkled behind clenched teeth—as if ancient bulls had trodden their skulls mercilessly—nearly collapsing from emotional strain.

Eventually, limping forward, invoking ancestral relics anew—bloodlust reignited—they gave chase.

“Got anything?” chirped the crimson-winged beast carrying the child companion high above, eyeing suspiciously the glass container clutched tightly.

“Mm…” barely managed the brat before light beams began shooting freely from his lips once more.

“Gods almighty! What volume did you swallow? Have you mastered fire like me?!” gasped admiration from the phoenix creature in awe at this newly acquired talent.

Plucking out fistfuls of feathers dripping freshly drawn blood from its side, the young adventurer swiftly daubed facial markings across cheekbones. Then performed additional camouflage.

“Despicable! What treachery are you plotting now?!” shrieked the avian horrified at self-inflicted damage.

“No reason particularly,” replied the boy vaguely, giving one sharp stare which immediately quieted complaints. Clearly this disguise scheme necessitated urgent shedding material—unfortunately, harvested from unwilling participant nearby.

Shortly arriving at a silver-robed young master, Xiao Tian leapt aboard wingedly, joyfully clutching the bottle cradled in small arms.

“You truly pulled it off?!” excitement vibrated visibly in his tone.

“Aye!” confirmed Little Rascal proudly, although speaking once more provoked renewed effluent sparkle bursts from parted lips.

“You drank the divine water straight down??” exclaimed the elder, shocked disbelief etched permanently in gaping jaw expressions.

Sealing lips with palm pressure muffling replies, he grunted unintelligibly through clenched jaws, “Wasn’t it stated usable for elixirs beforehand?”

“You absolute profligate extravagance!!” jeered the flaming-feathered beast in equal parts jealous admiration. “Maybe allow it to expel excess—then I’ll help refine any leftover spills; don’t worry—I’m not squeamish about your leftovers!”

“Piss off!” snapped the boy through glowing grin lines distorting childish features. After voicing displeasure though—wisely opting silence onward—he maintained his determined glare—puffing cheeks comically swollen while locked in contemplative quandaries.

Silver Robe sighed silently inwardly—he admired companionship uniquely eccentric but surely hadn’t foreseen THIS level of reckless unpredictability ever.

“We need privacy—you focus entirely on purification or risk dire consequences otherwise.” Advised the senior mentor cautiously.

No verbal response offered; lips sealed firmly.

Swiftly accelerating into the horizon—escaping desert wastes, they plunged deep into endless primal wild jungles beyond reach.

Upon landing softly atop mystical mountain terrain:

“I’m relieved you made it—but let’s avoid literal belly storage of future substances okay?” chuckled relief intermingled concern.

“Beneath the kid’s ruthless exterior beats hidden truths unknown to you!” interjected the fiery-fledged companion solemnly.

“Yeah yeah, shove it,” the boy kicked playfully while unintentionally emitting another radiant spray.

Giggling delightedly despite bruises sustained, the large bird continued tailing faithfully. Eyeing stolen glimpses constantly toward that precious bottled prize muttering plans aloud:

“If surviving consumption proves feasible…I too shall store similarly in abdomen!”

Silently seated cross-legged on earth, attempting internal conversion—furrowing brows indicated internal struggle.

‘Did actual danger await ingestion?’ he worried silently. Ancient texts claimed miraculous healing properties—not typically recommending oral exposure though! Why resist staying inside when absorbed otherwise readily?

Torn thoughts twisted grimly. Speech capability temporarily suspended due to uncontrollable leakage complications worsened his current situation exponentially.

“All consume—absorb entirely!” he tried articulating—only muffled sounds emerged through tight seal lips. Defiance shining clearly from youthful features regardless.

“Fierce beyond reckoning,” observed the scarlet bird with newfound appreciation.

Similarly bemused yet impressed, the elder silver-robed warrior suppressed initial urge bursting out laughing. Finding rare satisfaction in having befriended someone with such distinct unconventional flair.

“That style seems oddly familiar…” thought Xiao Tian momentarily—though dismissed instantly overwhelmed anew by excitement over holding the sacred essence himself, leaving trivial considerations aside for later.
