Chapter 1117: Headless Being

Princess Yao Yue fled into the distance, her snow-white robes stained crimson—her own true blood soaking through. Bathed in moonlight, her ivory-like body trembled faintly; her injuries were truly severe.

*Whoosh!*

Behind her, Lü Tuo and Wang Xi swiftly parted ways, ceasing their pursuit of Yao Yue. The two of them also fled in different directions.

Thus, the battle concluded in a manner no one had anticipated.

All four young supremos were wounded, and gravely so. Wary of one another, none dared to continue fighting, choosing instead to retreat.

Shi Hao’s eyes were deep, glimmering with faint shadows as he contemplated whom to hunt down. In an instant, he made his decision—Lü Tuo!

Yet the moment he took a step, a terrifying ripple surged from the horizon, vast and unfathomable, like a sea of stars crashing onto the mortal world, overturning the earth.

The reddish-brown ground trembled violently, splitting apart in endless ruptures.

A powerful divine sense swept across the mountains and rivers, stirring all things in its wake. The sight was astonishing—many peaks cracked open.

Shi Hao was stunned, forcibly halting his steps. *Who was that?* The inexplicable aura was so horrifying, so overwhelming—who could possibly contend against it?

He concealed himself behind a massive boulder, motionless, silently observing.

Without a sound, a figure appeared atop the tallest mountain. In the dim light, the silhouette was indistinct—tall, imposing, and suffocatingly oppressive.

Shi Hao dared not use his Heavenly Eye, fearing it would alert the figure. The being’s presence was too terrifying, as if he could swat down the sun and moon with a mere flick of his hand.

*A headless corpse!*

Shi Hao was shocked. Though he hadn’t activated his Heavenly Eye, he could still see clearly—the figure had no head, his back turned, fresh blood dripping from his severed neck as if the decapitation had occurred not long ago.

The battle-worn armor and tattered garments all indicated that this was an ancient being.

*”He must have been beheaded many years ago. His body carries an aura of antiquity, even the blood seems freshly spilled.”*

Shi Hao was startled by his own deduction. Could such a creature still be alive without a head? Yet his movements were completely unaffected.

Like a supreme battle immortal, his body exuded remnants of immortal energy, mixed with a demonic aura that struck fear into the heart.

A single figure standing there, as if capable of cleaving apart the heavens and earth!

Suddenly, he vanished.

Yet the world itself seemed to shatter. With a deafening roar, countless mountains exploded, and the earth split into endless black fissures, stretching for miles unseen.

Faintly, Shi Hao caught a glimpse of his blurred silhouette—heading toward the direction of their golden warship.

The land was left in ruins. All the red-furred beasts and other creatures in the area had been obliterated by the violent shockwaves, annihilated beyond recognition.

The sheer force was terrifying, chilling to the bone.

The only relief was that the others were not present—otherwise, the losses would have been catastrophic.

**”Let’s go!”**

Shi Hao had just risen when he spotted Wang Xi several miles away, waving at him. She hadn’t left either, hiding in the shadows.

Now, her injuries had worsened—the abrupt shockwave had struck her hard. She had been hiding beneath the very mountain where the headless corpse had stood.

**”What was that thing?”** Shi Hao asked. He was certain that Wang Xi, hailing from an immortal lineage, knew far more about this celestial battlefield than he did.

**”A warrior who died in battle long ago. After being beheaded, his body retained vitality and was buried in a place where divine herbs grew—thus, he endured through the ages,”** Wang Xi explained.

As expected, she knew. According to her, such beings had gained sentience and could now leave their divine herb sanctuaries. Their bodies still retained fragments of their past power, making them incredibly dangerous.

Shi Hao was astonished. The headless creature had been terrifying beyond measure—his combat prowess unimaginable. And yet, this was merely the remnants of his former strength?

**”Don’t forget where we are—this is a celestial battlefield. Most who fought here surpassed sect masters, their power unfathomable. Some were even Immortal Kings!”** Wang Xi shot him a glance.

**”How are you holding up? Need me to carry you?”** Shi Hao spread his arms.

Wang Xi glared at him. Was this guy truly dense or just pretending? His tone was so casual, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

**”Even if I’m injured, I don’t need you making a scene. If you really want to help, at least say you’ll *carry* me on your back.”**

**”Then I’ll carry you,”** Shi Hao said.

**”No need!”** Wang Xi wiped a trace of blood from her lips. Though pale, her transcendent grace remained undiminished—an immortal maiden who could make even the proudest young masters feel inadequate.

Yet after walking a short distance, she faltered, her steps unsteady.

The clash of the four young supremos had left all four with grievous wounds—injuries to their very foundations. An ordinary cultivator would have perished, for the ancient techniques they wielded inflicted wounds of the Great Dao, nearly impossible to heal.

Fortunately, they were no ordinary beings. Having cultivated three strands of immortal energy, they could endure and recover over time.

Of course, Wang Xi’s severe state was largely due to the headless being. A single step had shattered the mountain, causing the surrounding space to explode. She had been too close, suffering the worst of it.

Shi Hao walked beside her, utterly oblivious, making no move to support her.

Wang Xi coughed up more blood, displeased. She glanced back at him. **”Must you be so inconsiderate?”**

**”You said you didn’t need my help,”** Shi Hao retorted, yet he still reached out to steady her. **”You’re this weak—the other three must be in similar shape. If I take you to hunt them now, it should be easy, right?”**

**”Don’t even think about it. Cultivating three strands of immortal energy and manifesting the Dao Blossoms brings a fundamental difference in power. You’re no match for them,”** Wang Xi shook her head.

Shi Hao scoffed, unbothered. Though he hadn’t reached the Heavenly Deity Realm, he had already manifested two Dao Blossoms and was confident in his abilities.

**”The Dao begets One, One begets Two, Two begets Three, and Three begets all things. Three Blossoms converging at the crown far surpasses two—don’t overestimate yourself.”**

Shi Hao didn’t argue, changing the subject instead. **”That headless creature headed for our warship. Will the elders be able to hold out?”**

**”The second strongest expert from the academy has arrived, wielding the Nine Phoenix Furnace. There’s no issue. The Immortal Academy is far mightier than you imagine—founded by ancient beings who retreated from the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths. Their depths are unfathomable.”**

**”Good. At least our retreat isn’t cut off.”** Shi Hao nodded.

After some distance, Wang Xi weakened further, swallowing another divine pill. Her condition remained dire—her foundational injuries were wounds of the Great Dao itself.

**”Need a lift?”** Shi Hao offered.

Wang Xi studied him for a moment before summoning a radiant chariot, shimmering in seven hues.

They boarded the war chariot together, Shi Hao powering its flight. Even without divine beasts to pull it, the vehicle soared swiftly through the skies.

**”This junker guzzles divine energy like crazy,”** Shi Hao grumbled.

**”If you keep scheming, I’ll tighten the Vajra Hoop around your head and squeeze your soul,”** Wang Xi said lightly, her beautiful eyes glinting.

**”You’re overthinking it, girl. I just don’t want to waste energy. You think I *want* to carry you?”**

Finally, they left the chaotic region. The beast tide had dispersed, the red-furred creatures thinning out. They descended upon a tranquil area.

According to Wang Xi, there had to be a treasure site nearby—a place where divine herbs grew, the headless corpse’s resting ground. Perhaps even an immortal legacy lay hidden within.

They intended to search, to unearth the sealed sanctuary.

The headless being’s enduring vitality suggested he had been buried where divine herbs flourished.

Both hoped this was an undiscovered celestial grotto—if so, the rewards would be immense.

**”Rest and heal. I’ll scout the area for the hidden site. And if I run into Lü Tuo or Xuan Kun… well, I’ll handle them in passing.”**

**”Must you always lack humility?”** Wang Xi rolled her eyes.

**”I’m the epitome of modesty—always honest. Why won’t you believe me?”** Shi Hao feigned sincerity.

**”If you’re so capable, go kill Yao Yue for me.”** Clearly, Wang Xi bore a grudge. During the earlier battle, Yao Yue had targeted her relentlessly—most of her Dao injuries came from Yao Yue’s ancient techniques.

**”Ah, her? I’d rather capture her for… other uses.”**

**”Get lost. Don’t pollute my ears with your nonsense!”** Wang Xi had no patience for his antics, finding him increasingly insufferable.

*Whoosh!*

Shi Hao vanished, traversing the ancient land in search of the divine herb sanctuary—and perhaps Yao Yue, Lü Tuo, and the others along the way.
