Chapter 1459: Unleashing the Slaughter

With a Burial Guard following him, Shi Hao felt emboldened. Unless a supreme being from the other realm personally arrived, he feared no intruders—they would all be slain.

In the mountains, traces of many creatures could be seen, trampled into the earth. That area seemed safe, devoid of any danger.

The Divine Medicine Mountain Range held great opportunities, but not just anyone could venture in recklessly—many would perish here without warning.

“Ah, I’m truly worried. What if those cultivators at the Dunyi Realm are too cowardly to enter? Wouldn’t that waste all my careful planning?” Shi Hao muttered to himself.

The Burial Guard remained expressionless, silent, like a mindless corpse.

“Hey, old Burial, say something! You’ve been following me all this way like a mute gourd—how boring,” Shi Hao grumbled.

The Burial Guard opened its mouth, revealing a set of razor-sharp, snow-white teeth. In an eerie voice, it said, “I think your flesh must taste quite delicious.”

“Then shut up!” Shi Hao quickly stepped away. Was this thing suddenly gaining intelligence to scare him, or was it speaking its true thoughts?

The Burial Guard fell silent again, offering no response, simply following him like a shadow.

“Will those old fiends dare to come in?” he wondered. Though he knew many powerful figures had gathered outside the mountains, not all would enter.

If they were only here to hunt the younger generation’s elites, he felt confident he had nothing to fear.

“How about we charge out and sweep through the outskirts of the Divine Medicine Mountain Range? Let’s slaughter all those riffraff!” Shi Hao goaded.

This time, the Burial Guard ignored him, its silver pupils as calm as a still lake, unperturbed.

“Fang is here!” someone suddenly shouted.

Finally, they encountered a group—young warriors from the other realm, though only seven or eight in number, half of them from royal bloodlines.

“Why aren’t there any old monsters? I was hoping for bigger prey,” Shi Hao complained.

The group opposite stared in horror, as if seeing ghosts. They were merely scouts, clearing a safe path for others in the mountains. Now, they had stumbled upon Fang—and the monstrous figure beside him.

“How is this possible?! A Burial Guard walking with him?!” The group froze in shock.

Not long ago, the emergence of Burial Guards had shaken the other realm’s cultivators in these mountains. Some had escaped alive, but not all who encountered them survived.

“This… damn it, he’s practically a demon king, walking alongside a Burial Guard?!” Some trembled, cursing under their breath.

They were utterly stunned. Never had they imagined Fang would ally with such a terrifying creature—grinning brightly, almost arm-in-arm with the Burial Guard.

“Run!”

In the blink of an eye, the seven or eight cultivators made the same choice—they turned and fled for their lives.

Space-warping techniques and ancestral escape arts flared as they desperately put distance between themselves and the nightmare behind them.

“Damn it, Fang has partnered with a Burial Guard! No wonder he’s so strong—he must be a revived Burial Guard himself!” one howled.

“No, he’s clearly a Golden Burial Guard, indistinguishable from a normal human, infiltrating the Imperial Pass for some grand scheme!” another babbled.

But no matter how they screamed, their fate was sealed—there was no escape.

Shi Hao and the Burial Guard struck together.

*Thud!*

Shi Hao transformed into a streak of light, swinging his sword and decapitating one man, his soul extinguished by the blade’s edge.

In an instant, he pivoted, chasing down a second victim like a divine rainbow. The man screamed, hurling a black halberd as heavy as a mountain, but Shi Hao shattered it with a single slash. The blade cleaved him in half, his soul split asunder.

When Shi Hao turned back, the remaining cultivators were already gone—only a black mist surged, and a massive claw dripping with blood retracted.

The others had been crushed into bloody pulp by the Burial Guard.

In mere moments, the entire group had been wiped out—not a single survivor.

“Where are the Fearless Lions? The Gu Clan? The Imperial Bloodlines? Why aren’t any big fish showing up?” Shi Hao grumbled, eager to slay more formidable foes.

As he pressed forward, he encountered a few more, but none were his true targets.

“Let’s go—to the cavern. Time to deal with that old bastard!” Shi Hao declared, heading for the Golden Bull’s lair to settle scores with the Dunyi Realm cultivator.

This had been his goal all along—to hunt down and kill the other realm’s Dunyi expert.

Eliminating this man would bring him peace.

Earlier, this very cultivator had ambushed him in the volcano, nearly killing him and leaving him severely wounded.

“It’s time to repay this blood debt.”

In truth, not much time had passed since then, yet Shi Hao was already seeking vengeance.

The journey was smooth. He led the Burial Guard into the desolate area, scouting carefully to avoid the Golden Bull. A clash between it and the Burial Guard could end in mutual destruction.

Fortunately, the bull was still rampaging outside, disturbed by the influx of other-realm creatures.

The cavern was silent.

Before entering, Shi Hao warned, “Suppress all your aura. If that old man senses anything, he’ll flee like a slippery eel!”

The Burial Guard was extraordinary—despite its usual miasma of death, it now concealed itself perfectly, motionless as a stone.

Following Shi Hao’s advice, it lurked in the shadows, silently trailing behind to avoid alerting their prey.

The moment Shi Hao stepped inside, *clang!*—his foot triggered a formation, erupting in blinding light.

The Dunyi cultivator had set up defenses, wary of the Golden Bull interrupting his secluded cultivation.

The formation served as an alarm, jolting the man awake. His eyes snapped open, locking onto Shi Hao.

“You little brat! You dare show your face before me?!” the cultivator sneered, now fully healed thanks to the golden pool’s miraculous waters.

“Old thief, you’ve stolen this place for yourself!” Shi Hao feigned shock, backing away.

“Ha! You’ve walked right into your own doom!” The cultivator laughed coldly, eyes gleaming with murderous intent.

He had every reason to kill Shi Hao—eliminating a future threat for his realm and silencing any witnesses.

“Next time, I’ll be the one cutting you down!” Shi Hao taunted.

“You think you can escape now? Die!” The Dunyi expert lunged, a massive hand descending like a mountain.

*Whoosh!*

Shi Hao dodged like lightning, darting toward a fissure as if to flee.

“Surrender now, kneel before me, and I’ll spare your life—for now,” the cultivator growled, sealing the area with a spatial lock.

He rose from the golden pool, his crushing palm hovering over Shi Hao’s head.

“You should be the one begging for mercy!” Shi Hao shot back.

“Perish!” The Dunyi expert roared, slamming his hand down.

*Crack!*

His arm erupted in pain—a figure wreathed in black mist had seized his wrist.

The Burial Guard had lain in wait, striking at the perfect moment.

“Ah—!” The cultivator bellowed, his body erupting in radiant light, illuminating the cavern.

Yet, horror filled him as he realized he couldn’t break free. The black hand held him fast, its corrosive energy seeping into his flesh, turning his arm black and rotting it away.

“No…!” he screamed, watching his arm decay to bone in seconds.

“A Burial Guard! You’re from the Burial Domain!” he shrieked, recognizing the nightmarish entity.

At his level, he understood the true terror of these beings—untouchable, unstoppable.

*Snap!*

He tore off his own arm, hoping to escape like a lizard shedding its tail.

But the Burial Guard was faster, snatching his leg and yanking him back.

“You… should be dormant! Why interfere?!” the cultivator howled.

“He’s my sworn brother. Accept your fate,” Shi Hao said cheerfully.

*Sworn brother?!* The man seethed, realizing how bizarre this alliance was.

The Burial Guard didn’t kill him immediately, but his body continued rotting, flesh sloughing off bone.

“Ahhh—!” The cultivator thrashed, his entire body succumbing to the curse.

With a final glare of hatred, he spat a sword-light at Shi Hao, aiming to drag him into death.

*Clang!*

The Burial Guard flicked a finger, dispersing the attack with a wave of death energy.

“Finish him. No delays,” Shi Hao ordered.

*Crunch.*

The Burial Guard wrenched the man’s head clean off, rotten blood spraying.

*Swipe!*

Shi Hao’s sword pierced the decaying skull, extinguishing the crumbling soul.

With a final scream, the Dunyi Realm expert perished, body and soul annihilated.

A mighty cultivator had fallen just like that.

“Come, all of you. I’m waiting—step into the Divine Medicine Mountain Range, and I’ll bury you one by one,” Shi Hao murmured.
