Chapter 1766: A Guest from the Immortal Realm

The gates of the Void God Realm were massive and towering, with chaotic energies churning nearby. Behind the gates lay a path that led to the Spirit Realm.

This path was a long, winding staircase of stone, stretching endlessly upward into the heavens.

In the past, Shi Hao had once ascended step by step, entering the Spirit Realm. Not long ago, his divine soul had also used this very path to descend from the Upper Realm back to the Void God Realm.

Today, however, was anything but peaceful. The golden gates of the Spirit Realm swung open, and from above descended a group of people—men and women, young and old—all of considerable strength.

This was not their first visit. In fact, they had come daily in recent times, eager to enter the Void God Realm.

Yet, each time they reached the end of the stone staircase, they were forced to turn back empty-handed. A pair of colossal gates barred their way, unyielding no matter how they pounded, with no one to open them.

Clearly, they refused to give up. Every day, they returned with divine weapons, attacking the gates with such ferocity that the heavens and earth trembled, the massive doors shaking violently, nearly deforming.

But the gates remained unbroken, standing firm, refusing to open.

“My lord, is it truly necessary to enter?” an elderly servant asked, frowning.

The so-called “lord” was a young man, appearing no older than twenty, his hands clasped behind his back, clad in a robe embroidered with myriad beasts, wreathed in terrifying immortal energy.

“You don’t understand. There is great fortune here,” the young man replied, shaking his head.

“Indeed, this place is far from ordinary,” a young woman in a fiery red gown chimed in, her beauty striking, her aura proud—clearly one of those supremely confident youths.

Among the group, these two took the lead, for they hailed from the Immortal Domain.

The others were either from the Nine Heavens or the Three Thousand Provinces, accompanying them on their descent.

“Can the Eight Realms truly hold fortune? That place is barren—nothing more than a prison,” the old servant muttered. Though not a native of the Immortal Domain, he now served under the young man.

“Indeed, the Lower Eight Realms are called a cage,” another agreed.

“Precisely because it is a prison, its value is immeasurable!” The young woman in red gowns eyes blazed with fervor.

“Continue the assault,” the young man in the beast-embroidered robe commanded.

“Wait—the Eight Realms’ cage… is that the Void God Realm?” someone murmured in shock.

Recently, word had spread from the Immortal Domain—they sought to select invincible seeds from the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, a revelation that had stunned all factions.

Especially when envoys appeared, stirring even greater excitement.

Now, within the spiritual worlds of the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, countless battle arenas had been erected, hosting fierce competitions. The victors would earn the right to enter the Immortal Domain, becoming disciples of ancient sects.

These two youths had arrived with the envoys but later slipped away, venturing into the Three Thousand Provinces before finally reaching this spiritual world.

“Are there any notable beings in the Lower Realms?” the young man in the beast-embroidered robe inquired. His name was Xu Hui, hailing from the Ten Thousand Beasts Palace of the Immortal Domain—a lineage of terrifying prestige.

“There was one called the ‘Wasteland,’ incredibly strong, once unrivaled among his generation. But he was crippled by the lords of the Immortal Palace,” someone answered.

“Unrivaled among his generation? Hah.” The young woman in red, named Yi Luo, smirked derisively.

“Of course, how could the Wasteland compare to the lords of the Immortal Domain? He was only strong in this lower realm,” another youth added, then continued with a sneer, “Besides, he’s a cripple now.”

This youth came from a major sect in the Three Thousand Provinces, his tone gloating—clearly, his sect bore a grudge against Shi Hao.

In truth, many of these “guides” belonged to factions that had clashed with the Wasteland. Their presence here was partly to glean news about him.

“Pity. By the timeline, he should already be crippled. Otherwise, we might’ve reunited with him in the Void God Realm.”

“That would’ve been quite the sight. I wonder if he’d still be as arrogant now. Truly, I’d love to see him again.”

The young men and women laughed, their eyes gleaming.

**Boom! Boom! Boom!**

Xu Hui and Yi Luo personally attacked the massive stone gates.

“Open the realm gates! Envoys of the Immortal Domain have arrived!” someone shouted, joining the assault.

Inside, Shi Hao and the others had already arrived, hearing the proclamation.

Bird Grandpa and Fine Jade Grandpa stood frowning.

“Beings from the Immortal Domain are no trifling matter. They’re hard to handle—ordinary folk can’t subdue them,” Bird Grandpa muttered.

Beside him, the Crimson Dragon Ge Gu bristled, eager for a fight.

“Open the gates. Let’s see what they want,” Shi Hao said.

“Very well. But are you sure the Severing Immortal Curse won’t act up? Be careful not to invite disaster,” Fine Jade Grandpa cautioned.

“No worries. It won’t flare up anytime soon,” Shi Hao replied. He wanted to see what these people sought.

**Rumble!**

The colossal gates slowly creaked open, mist swirling, chaos surging, the sound deafening.

The group descending from the Spirit Realm gaped in shock—the gates had actually opened!

“My lord is peerless! To force open the realm gates—such divine might!” someone fawned.

Xu Hui of the Ten Thousand Beasts Palace waved a dismissive hand. He immediately saw through the mist, spotting the figures who had opened the gates.

“Oh? Someone’s here to greet us,” Yi Luo remarked with a faint smile.

As the mist cleared, the others also saw the beings inside the gates.

Their expressions turned priceless—especially when they saw Shi Hao. It was as if they’d seen a ghost, their jaws dropping wide enough to fit a fist.

Never had they imagined that upon the gates opening, the first person they’d see was the Wasteland himself. They were utterly dumbfounded!

Just moments ago, they’d been mocking him—only to meet him face-to-face. It was beyond belief.

“Ghosts must be real!” someone blurted.

“Wasteland… is that really you?”

They could hardly believe it. By their calculations, the Severing Immortal Curse should’ve taken effect by now. How could he still enter the Void God Realm?

“By the timeline, he should’ve been crippled within these two days,” someone whispered.

“Ah, I see. He’s using what little time he has left to enter the Void God Realm. Soon, he’ll never have the chance again,” another offered as explanation.

They exchanged glances, excitement and thrill mingling. Earlier, they’d mused about how satisfying it’d be to see the Wasteland again—to witness his current state.

And now, their wish had come true. The once-peerless youth of his generation, now reduced to a mortal—what a reunion this was!

“Wasteland, how have you been?” someone taunted, knowing full well he’d been struck by the Severing Immortal Curse.

“Hah. Wasteland, let me introduce you—these two are lords from the Immortal Domain. Aren’t you going to greet them?” another chimed in, his tone dripping with false authority.

Shi Hao swept a cold glance over them, ignoring their words as he studied Xu Hui and Yi Luo.

“Wasteland, still so arrogant? Even before lords of the Immortal Domain, you act this insolent? Too bad—you’re not the man you used to be!” someone jeered, clearly trying to provoke him.

“Enough noise!”

Shi Hao finally spoke, locking eyes with the youth. Without hesitation, he flicked a finger.

**Pfft!**

Divine light streaked forth, unavoidable.

The youth’s mouth exploded in a spray of blood, teeth sent flying.

“Ah—!” The man screamed, clutching his face as he staggered back, horrified that Shi Hao had struck without warning.

“Even your elders wouldn’t dare speak recklessly before me. Who do you think you are?” Shi Hao said coldly.

“So you’re the Wasteland?” Yi Luo stepped forward, curiosity in her gleaming eyes as she circled him, inspecting him up and down.

“Rumors seem mistaken. They say you’re afflicted by the Severing Immortal Curse, yet here you stand unharmed,” Xu Hui remarked, studying Shi Hao intently.

At these words, the faces of those around them—young and old alike—turned ashen.

Especially those who’d spoken earlier. Their faces drained of color. Had the Wasteland not been crippled? The thought terrified them to their cores.

What was going on? The entire Upper Realm knew his cultivation had been severed, his future ruined. If he wasn’t crippled… not just them, but even their elders and sect leaders would tremble in fear!

Who would dare act so boldly then?
