Chapter 901: The Secret of the Star Soul

Everyone on the small island has already entered the realm of the Unified Demon.

As soon as everyone entered, they immediately scattered in all directions.

Here, many people are entering it for the first time.

In their eyes, the Demon King’s Domain is an untouched treasure trove that has never been explored by anyone.

There was no one else beside Lu Yu and Mingzun.

Lu Yu looked at Mingzun, unsure why Mingzun was asking him such a question.

“What’s different about this place compared to the outside world?” Lu Yu had entered several times but hadn’t noticed anything unusual.

Certainly, if it weren’t for the giant eye in the sky and the sudden appearance of deities, this place would truly be peaceful, ideal for beasts to live.

“The Domain of the Demonic Sovereign is divided into nine levels. From its name, people believe it must be related to the King and the demonic race,” Ming Zun gestured for Lu Yu to follow him.

Two people soared between the mountains at a moderate speed.

The wild beasts in the mountains dared not make a sound; one by one, the weaker animals crouched on the ground, wailing mournfully, as if they knew their end was near.

Lu Yu said, “I heard that this Demon-Control Field originally belonged to the humanoid race. It was seized and occupied by humans, right?”

The Supreme One said, “This is merely the history of humanity as humans understand it. Originally, this realm belonged to no one. Moreover, humans initially did not possess star souls at all. It was only after this realm was opened that ten humans each received different star souls. These ten individuals were revered by humanity of that era as the Soul Lords. After countless years of cultivation and enlightenment, these ten Soul Lords finally understood the mystery of the star souls. When cultivated to their peak, star souls could grant power far beyond human limits. In that age of ordinary humans, even a Soul Lord with merely a second-level star soul was invincible. Believing these star souls to be gifts from heaven, the ten Soul Lords honored this realm as the sacred land of star souls. They then selected dozens of intelligent races to reside in this sacred realm, guarding this holy site.”

Lu Yu had never imagined that the Domain of the Demon King held such a past; it was simply astonishing.

“You mean the humanoid race was originally chosen by the ten Soul Masters to enter here and guard the sacred land?”

The Supreme One said, “That’s correct. The original humanoid species had not yet evolved to their current state. Although they possessed intelligence, it was not as advanced as now. Only after entering this realm, perhaps drawn by some force within it, did the humanoids begin to evolve. Some evolved toward greater wisdom, while others, still retaining traces of humanity deep in their memories, evolved toward humans, yet not completely.”

Lu Yu inhaled sharply, realizing he had just overheard a shocking secret.

The Supreme Lord walked as he spoke, “It’s a pity that later on, the Domain of the Demon Sovereign was sealed off by the humanoid race. Blood sacrifices merely turned human vitality and souls into sustenance for them. After countless generations, humanity gradually forgot about the Domain of the Demon Sovereign and even forgot where the origin of star souls lay! Until the humanoids, after evolving to a certain peak, broke out from the Domain of the Demon Sovereign and issued a challenge to humankind. The thirty-six races united, emerging from the Nine Great Dominions with strength far surpassing that of humans. For a time, human territory continuously shrank, with part of the population becoming slaves and blood sacrifices for the humanoids. It was not until the emergence of the first King that humanity rose to resist the humanoids in fierce battles, driving them back into the Domain of the Demon Sovereign. Yet humans were unwilling to accept this fate; some volunteered to sacrifice themselves to reopen the Domain of the Demon Sovereign. That was humanity’s darkest era—a thousand-year period filled with dozens of bloody battles, during which several Kings emerged, exhausted their life forces, and died, ultimately expelling the humanoids from the Domain of the Demon Sovereign and exiling them to the Demon Hunter Plains.”

Lu Yu never expected to hear such a secret matter; it was practically the history of humanity’s earliest development.

“Senior, you’re telling me all this. Are these things related to me this time?” Lu Yu continued to ask.

The Supreme Lord continued, “The Ten Soul Lords possess Star Souls, and indeed, only these ten possess them. After they comprehended the mysteries and powers of the Star Souls, they ruled over the land. The ten of them established a vast kingdom and then began searching for the source of Star Soul energy. Thus, they entered the Domain of the Demonic Sovereign, where they built their own castle.”

“You, you mean the Demon Suppression Hall!” Lu Yu was surprised again.

“That’s right. It’s the Grand Hall of the Demon King.”

“But where is the room full of various weapons and props? It’s not a castle at all.”

“That place was indeed a castle at the beginning,” the Lord of the Netherworld said solemnly. “Whether it’s a warrior’s soul, a star soldier, or even a star artifact, they all carry soul-force fluctuations. The Ten Soul Lords built this castle to collect star souls.”

“I don’t quite understand what you mean,” Lu Yu said, frowning this time.

“Back then, the Ten Great Soul Lords obtained the Star Souls. Knowing that they could not establish a vast empire by themselves, each Soul Lord separated a fragment of their Star Soul and bestowed it upon their warriors. No one could have predicted that, in the end, the Star Souls could be passed down to the next generation through bloodlines. Eventually, after dozens of generations of human reproduction across the land, nearly all humans came to possess a Star Soul. The construction of the Domination Devil Hall was designed to collect the Star Soul energy from deceased individuals by utilizing the Star Soul vibrations of the ten Soul Lords. Since all these Star Souls were originally separated from the Soul Lords’ own, it was only natural that, after death, these souls would return to their original Soul Lords. After the Soul Lords’ deaths, their descendants fought for hundreds of years over the inheritance of the Hall—after all, obtaining the Hall meant gaining control over the vast empire. During this period, the humanoid race, who had always loyally guarded the domain, suddenly turned against it, sealing off the Domain of Domination. When the domain was finally opened again, people discovered that the Hall was no longer a castle, but had become a weapons depot for the humanoid race.”

“You mean the Demon-controlling Hall was rebuilt by the humanoid race.”

“This part is a piece of history known only to the ancestors of the humanoid race. However, according to speculation, it was they who modified the grand hall. Originally, the hall merely guided the separation of the Soul Lords’ star souls. But after the modifications, any unclaimed object containing soul energy would be drawn into the hall. The more powerful the artifact, the stronger the attraction it would experience.”

The Supreme Spirit and Lu Yu traveled through the mountainous wilderness, and ahead of them, the top of a tall stone palace had already come into view.

Lu Yu learned about the history of the grand hall and no longer felt it was eerie, but instead found it mysterious and magnificent.

This was the palace of the first ten Soul Lords, where countless artisans poured their efforts and ingenuity.

In front of the grand hall, people from all three factions of the divine servants were present.

In addition, there were more than ten teams of humans, including Luo Mo, Lie Tianwang, and others.

The Sovereign of the Netherworld said, “The reason I brought you here is that nine of the Ten Great Soul Lords are the Nine Mutated Star Souls.”

“What?” Lu Yu was greatly shocked, turning his head to look at the Sovereign of the Netherworld. This news was even more explosive.

The Sovereign of the Netherworld said solemnly, “You heard correctly. Except for the Star Souls of the Ten Soul Lords, which may be passed down, all other Star Souls will return to the Grand Hall of the Demonic Sovereign after death. Even Star Souls passed down through bloodline may undergo mutations or degradation. Only the Star Souls of the Ten Soul Lords are passed down through generations. Once a predecessor dies, the Star Soul will immediately seek out the next successor, never perishing, never disappearing!”

At this moment, the two had already approached the grand hall, yet no one moved, as if waiting for something.

The Supreme Lord of the Netherworld whispered, “I’m telling you this because, in the end, all star souls of those who possess them will gather within the Grand Hall of the Demon Sovereign after death.”

Lu Yu’s heart pounded violently the moment the Lord of the Netherworld spoke the last few words, as if it were about to leap out of his body!

He immediately understood the reason why Mingzun had brought him here.

In this grand hall, all weapons can be reforged.

They are invaluable.

Yet the true priceless treasure is the star souls gathered within this grand hall of magic.

They have separated from their soul master’s body and are now gathered together, waiting for the soul master’s return.

The stone gate of the grand hall was tightly closed, and not a single person made a move.

Luo scanned the crowd of humans around him, extended his thick finger, and beckoned to a warrior, saying, “You, get over here!”

The warrior was taken aback, then coldly snorted and said, “Why should I?”

“Boom!”

Luo didn’t hold back. His enormous body sprang into action, lifting his massive foot to stomp down on the person’s head.

The warrior wanted to move.

Hum.

A violent surge of energy erupted from Luo, pressing down like a mountain.

The soldier who wanted to run away felt as if he were carrying a mountain on his back. He lifted his foot, but it fell back to its original place, and he couldn’t even move an inch.

Bang!

Luo’s large foot came down on the man’s crown like crushing a bug, turning the warrior into a bloody pulp.

“Because my strength is stronger than yours!”

People around gasped sharply, inhaling cold air.

That person who was crushed to death was actually a King. Judging from the power he displayed when he tried to escape just now, he must have become a King using a King’s Core, making him an ordinary King in terms of strength.

That’s exactly how it should be; this is indeed a king.

Are these divine servants from the Spirit Star really this terrifying!

If even an ordinary divine servant possesses such power, just how many experts of that level are there on that planet!

Luo stepped on someone and killed him. He then wiped his foot on the ground, spat on the blood-stained mud, and sneered, “Don’t act arrogantly if you don’t have the strength.”

Saying that, Luo turned his gaze to the other side, his eyes landing on a group of humans, and coldly said, “Come over here, or do I have to crush you all?”

The leader of the group gritted his teeth and said, “What do you want us to do?”

“Behave and listen to me, and you won’t die,” Luo pointed toward the door of the grand hall. “This door requires a massive amount of soul power to open. You two go push the door—just create a small crack. Once the door is slightly open, you may enter too. However, once inside, don’t disturb us. Or else, I will crush you without hesitation.”

This group consists of a total of thirty people, among whom there are five kings.

The five kings exchanged glances, then stepped forward.

Everyone who comes here is after the treasure.

Since Luo said so, as long as they can maintain peace temporarily, enduring it for now is still acceptable.

Lu Yu stood beside the King of the Underworld and whispered, “Can this door be pushed open like this?”

Lu Yu had entered before, once using a key and another time through the blood ritual’s granted qualification, but he had never heard of someone being able to open the door in this way.

The Dark Lord nodded and said, “Indeed, this is one method. Long ago, when the Soul Master constructed the grand hall, he intended to establish this place as a sacred殿堂 for star souls, where only the strong would have the qualification to enter. Any king who exerts his full power can open it.”

Lu Yu looked at the Divine Servant and asked, “They are also Divine Servants and should possess Star Souls too. Why don’t they take action themselves?”
