Chapter 980: Are You All Blind?

Lin Fan had been waiting outside for quite a while and was beginning to grow impatient.

What the hell is Qing Yangzi up to? Still hasn’t come out yet.

At that moment, Qing Yangzi’s figure appeared within Lin Fan’s line of sight.

All the way here, Qing Yangzi had been grumbling and cursing Fire Elder’s entire family. Yet, just before reaching Lin Fan, his expression suddenly changed, and a joyous smile spread across his face.

“It’s all set! You’re officially an inner sect disciple now. You won’t believe how excited the Sect Leader was when he heard about your extraordinary talent—he couldn’t contain himself and immediately promoted you to inner sect status, granting you your own shattered peak,” Qing Yangzi exclaimed excitedly.

The surrounding disciples exchanged brief glances.

Inner sect disciple?

That wasn’t bad, but they all knew just how exceptional this new junior brother was.

With only an Ancient Realm peak cultivation, he had suppressed a True Immortal Realm opponent. How domineering was that?

Had the Sect Leader been hit in the head with a cannonball or something?

Wouldn’t even grant him the position of Divine Heir?

Of course, this was just their inner thoughts. If they actually voiced such thoughts, they’d probably be struck down on the spot.

Seeing Qing Yangzi’s cheerful expression and normal demeanor, they naturally understood—he was just trying to flatter Lin Fan, making him feel like being an inner sect disciple was something truly rare and valuable.

“Inner sect disciple?” Lin Fan asked, slightly puzzled.

But seeing the envious expressions on the others’ faces, he felt a bit pleased.

Seems like being an inner sect disciple really is something impressive.

Well then, it’s acceptable for someone of my caliber.

“Congratulations, Senior Lin, on becoming an inner sect disciple,” Li Qing clasped his fists and said.

Although Lin Fan had entered the sect later, his cultivation was high, and his status surpassed theirs, so naturally, they addressed him as “Senior.”

“You’re too kind,” Lin Fan smiled and returned the gesture.

“Come, I’ll take you to choose a shattered peak,” Qing Yangzi said with a grin.

But deep inside, he was still grumbling about the Sect Leader.

You guys don’t believe in me? Fine then. I’m old, my talent is limited—but since that’s the case, I’ll take a gamble this time and cultivate this genius properly, so I can slap all your faces hard.

Especially that Fire Elder provoked Qing Yangzi into a rage.

Damn Fire Huatou, the thing he brought back—who knows if it’s even his illegitimate child—pretending it was something he just happened to find. What utter nonsense.

Not long after,

Lin Fan and Qing Yangzi floated in the sky above.

Before them, countless shattered peaks drifted through the sky, each uniquely shaped, each with a palace resting atop.

The uninhabited palaces looked plain and ordinary, indistinguishable from one another.

But the peaks that were already occupied radiated thick spiritual energy, with colorful lights swirling around them.

“So many!” Lin Fan noticed that quite a few of the shattered peaks were already occupied—at least thousands, perhaps even ten thousand.

So much for being an inner sect disciple. It’s practically worthless.

“Yeah, there are plenty of shattered peaks. Look down there—that’s where the outer sect disciples live,” Qing Yangzi pointed.

Lin Fan looked down and frowned slightly, “So cramped.”

“Look even lower—that’s where the servant disciples reside,” Qing Yangzi pointed again.

Lin Fan looked once more and couldn’t help but feel it was quite pitiful—simple, crowded houses, not even comparable to the Xuan Huang World.

“What about those over there?” Lin Fan pointed toward a distant direction where ten towering peaks pierced the heavens, exuding a vast and solemn aura. Around them, countless magical treasures swirled, emitting radiant multicolored lights. Endless beams of light bowed toward the peaks, as if they were something extraordinary.

Upon seeing those peaks, Qing Yangzi’s expression slightly changed, but he quickly resumed his usual tone, “Nothing much. Those are just the second-generation descendants of the sect’s high-ranking officials—useless good-for-nothings, all of them.”

When Li Qing heard the elder speak like this, his heart skipped a beat.

The elder was too bold! Those peaks were where the sect’s Divine Heirs resided.

And those Divine Heirs were no pushovers. If they heard what the elder had said, they might even challenge him directly.

Although Qing Yangzi was a sect elder, he was only in charge of disciple selection and held little real power within the sect.

Even these Divine Heirs had more authority than Qing Yangzi.

“Oh, so even the sect has privileged second-generation bastards who got in through back doors,” Lin Fan nodded, feeling those peaks looked quite nice.

“Enough about that. Pick one. If you like any, just tell me, and I’ll arrange it for you,” Qing Yangzi quickly changed the subject, clearly unwilling to dwell further on the topic.

Lin Fan had come to the Heaven and Earth Sect not for luxury, but to enhance his cultivation.

The supreme experts and demons within the secret realm were still waiting for him to rescue them.

“Just that one there,” Lin Fan pointed toward a distant peak.

“Fine,” Qing Yangzi nodded, took out a jade talisman, and injected spiritual energy into it. A beam of light shot forth, enveloping the shattered peak. As if drawn by an invisible force, the peak slowly drifted toward Lin Fan and the others.

“Activate!”

A stream of energy surged across the peak, cleansing the buildings of dust and grime. The withered flowers, grass, and trees suddenly regained vitality, growing lush once more.

“Keep this. From now on, this shattered peak belongs to you. Give it a name,” Qing Yangzi said.

“Let’s call it Holy Demon Peak,” Lin Fan replied.

“Holy Demon Peak? Not a bad name—two supreme forces, embracing all. You’re destined for greatness,” Qing Yangzi chuckled.

Lin Fan stepped into the buildings. Though not large, the area had everything he needed.

A pill refining chamber, a weapon forging room, a cultivation hall, and even a garden for growing spiritual herbs.

“What do you think? Not bad, right? Let me tell you, the privileges of an inner sect disciple are quite high,” Qing Yangzi smiled.

“Not bad at all,” Lin Fan nodded in satisfaction. The treatment given to inner sect disciples truly was impressive.

“You rest for now. I’ll have someone bring over the sect’s supplies later,” Qing Yangzi said.

“Alright.”

Qing Yangzi and the others departed from the shattered peak.

“Senior Lin has such extraordinary potential. Why didn’t the Sect Leader grant him the Divine Heir position?” Li Qing asked, puzzled.

“Don’t even mention it. Out of nowhere, that Fire Elder discovered some mutated Heaven and Earth Flame Spirit, and the Sect Leader’s attention was entirely captivated by him.”

“And the Divine Heir position—there were originally ten spots, with one empty. There was still some hope. But who could’ve expected this turn of events?” Qing Yangzi sighed.

“That’s truly a shame,” Li Qing said.

“Come on, let’s prepare some things for him,” Qing Yangzi thought for a moment, then gritted his teeth. This time, I’ll go all out. The genius I discovered must not be allowed to fade into obscurity.

No matter what, I must help him grow.

I’ll bet everything I have. One day, I’ll make them realize that not granting Lin Fan the Divine Heir position was their blindness.

Among the entire sect, only I am the one with the clearest vision.

Li Qing didn’t know exactly what Qing Yangzi was preparing for Lin Fan. But seeing the elder’s determined expression, he was completely stunned.
