Chapter 839: A Stirring of the Unseen

In the quiet hall, a faint floral fragrance wafted, as Little Healer Immortal and Zi Yan sat in silence. The former seemed calm, but the latter’s face was filled with impatience.

“He has been in the secret chamber for two days, why isn’t he done yet?” After sitting restlessly for a moment, Zi Yan finally leaped up, impatiently asking.

“Alchemy takes time; you can’t rush it.” Little Healer Immortal set aside a light yellow book, her beautiful eyes casting a glance toward the direction of the secret chamber. “Just wait a little longer; it should be nearly complete.”

“You’ve said that almost ten times already,” Zi Yan murmured, pouting, then grudgingly retook her seat. However, just as she sat down, the entire room suddenly trembled violently.

The sudden quake made both Little Healer Immortal and Zi Yan freeze, their gazes simultaneously shifting toward the direction of the secret chamber. There, an unusually dense energy fluctuation was rapidly taking shape.

“Looks like the alchemy is about to succeed.” Feeling the energy fluctuation, Little Healer Immortal’s eyes flickered with joy. Although she wasn’t an alchemist, her extensive experience over the years had taught her that highly valuable elixirs forming often caused quite a commotion.

“Be cautious. Don’t let anyone disturb him. This Black Emperor Pavilion is crowded and full of experts. We can’t keep this secret from everyone,” Little Healer Immortal said seriously. But before she finished, the energy fluctuation in the secret chamber suddenly surged to a terrifying degree. A loud boom followed, and a half-foot-long column of energy shot out of the secret chamber, piercing through the ceiling and shooting straight into the sky.

Even Little Healer Immortal’s face changed slightly at the sight of the energy column bursting through the ceiling and soaring into the heavens. Frowning, she muttered, “What in the world is Xiao Yan concocting? Such a commotion… It seems the entire Black Emperor Pavilion will be disturbed. Zi Yan, stay here and kill anyone who tries to enter the room!”

Her voice was filled with icy menace.

“What about you?” Zi Yan nodded, then quickly asked.

“I have to show myself and intimidate those with ill intentions,” Little Healer Immortal replied, her grayish-purple eyes flashing with a cold gleam. This commotion would surely attract the attention of Battle Sect experts. If one of those old monsters acted recklessly and interfered, it could severely harm Xiao Yan.

With that, Little Healer Immortal vanished from the room, reappearing on the roof, her cold gaze sweeping slowly across the area.

As expected, the sudden burst of light drew the attention of all the experts in the Black Emperor Pavilion. Many were shocked at the pure energy radiating from the light column, promptly rushing out to get a closer look. Within a minute, the buildings and treetops around Xiao Yan’s pavilion were filled with people.

As they watched closely, some experts finally recognized the source of the light column, and exclamations rang out.

“The light column is filled with the scent of elixirs. Someone must be concocting high-grade medicine in that room.

“While high-grade elixirs cause some disturbances, unless it’s a seventh-grade elixir, such phenomena are rare. Could someone be concocting a seventh-grade elixir?

“It can’t be. Seventh-grade elixirs cause much more of a stir. It must be a sixth-grade superior-quality elixir!

“Such a commotion! It’s not an ordinary elixir, huh? Who is the alchemist? Could it be Qi Shan from the Black Emperor Sect?

“Qi Shan only recently entered the sixth grade. How could he possibly concoct such a high-grade elixir?”

As more and more experts gathered around the pavilion, whispers grew louder, and some eyes began to shine with greed. An elixir causing such a commotion was no ordinary item.

*Whizz!*

A sharp wind cut through the air, and several figures flashed into the sky, hovering and gazing with astonishment at the rising light column.

“I didn’t expect there to be such an alchemical master in the Black Emperor City. I wonder who it is,” a white-haired elder, hooded and surprised, remarked, floating in the air with a dozen others.

“True, the disturbance suggests it’s approaching the seventh grade. Even Qi Shan couldn’t do that,” added a man with fluttering energy wings, his face serious. He turned out to be Xiao Li, Xiao Yan’s second brother. The white-haired elder beside him was none other than Grand Elder Su Qian from the Inner Academy.

Su Qian nodded slightly, then focused, saying, “I didn’t think the Devil Flame Valley would also be here.”

Xiao Li froze, then followed Su Qian’s gaze to see a group hovering nearby, led by Devil Flame Valley’s grand elder, Fang Yan.

“To meet these scoundrels here… We can’t let them leave easily after this,” Xiao Li’s eyes iced over, a cold smile spreading across his lips.

Su Qian nodded, his eyes scanning the opposing side, and upon seeing the gray-robed figure, he gasped, “Grand Elder, what is it?”

Frowning, Su Qian shook his head, feeling a vague sense of danger from the gray-robed figure.

By then, the Devil Flame Valley group had also noticed them, their eyes locking in a cold, hostile exchange.

“Old man Su Qian is here too. Trying to kill them now will be more troublesome,” Fang Yan mused, retracting his gaze.

“Kill him as well, then,” the gray-robed man said coldly, intrigued by the alchemist. “Who could be so skilled, surpassing even Qi Shan? When did such an alchemist appear in the Black-Corner Region?”

“We’re not sure. With so many strong figures gathering in the Black Emperor City, he might have come with them,” Fang Yan responded, shaking his head.

“Indeed, but daring to alchemize in such a place… He must be at a critical stage. Any disturbance could destroy the elixir or even cause a backlash…” the gray-robed man said hoarsely, with a sardonic smile.

“What do you want, sir? Such an alchemist likely has a powerful soul,” Fang Yan replied, his mouth twitching with a cold smile.

As they spoke, a snow-white figure emerged from the pavilion.

“Kill anyone within a hundred meters of the room!”

The snow-white figure appeared, her grayish-purple eyes scanning the crowd, pausing in certain directions before delivering a cold, chilling command. At that moment, a powerful aura surged from her, stunning everyone present.

“An expert of Battle Sect level?” The shock and cold murderous intent sent many shivering and retreating.

“Impossible! A girl of her age, a Battle Sect expert?” Fang Yan was flabbergasted. When did such a young and powerful Battle Sect appear in the Black-Corner Region?

“Leave this place within ten breaths!” As Fang Yan was still in shock, a freezing gaze locked onto him, filling him with a chilly dread. But he was not one to be easily cowed, especially with the gray-robed man by his side.

“Retreat for now. Clashing with her is unwise. Offending a Battle Sect expert is never smart,” the gray-robed man advised calmly.

Fang Yan, stunned, nodded, then signaled for the group to withdraw.

The surrounding crowd, seeing the Devil Flame Valley experts retreat, marveled at the might of a Battle Sect. As the enemy retreated, only Xiao Li’s group remained, and the white-robed woman’s cold, murderous gaze fixed on them.

Xiao Li and the others shifted uncomfortably, exchanging glances with Su Qian, ready to retreat, but the woman’s gaze paused, her voice uncertain.

“Are you from the Xiao Sect?”
