Chapter 842: The Grand Spectacle Begins

The location for the auction organized by the Black Emperor Clan was set in a vast central square, yet even with such spacious accommodation, it seemed the clan had underestimated the attraction of this particular event. When Xiao Yan and his companions arrived at the auction venue, they were rendered speechless at the sight of the endless sea of people, a testament to the fervor of those who had gathered. Fortunately, the Black Emperor Clan had anticipated this scenario and had specially established a dedicated passageway for the domain’s elite; after a few inquiries, the trio managed to reach this passage smoothly.

Around the entrance, numerous guards of the Black Emperor Clan vigilantly stood guard, their sharp weapons glowing with a cold light, which kept the surrounding throngs of people at bay. A few elders from the clan also stood there, emanating powerful surges of profound energy, creating an oppressive atmosphere around them. From time to time, a group would enter through this passage, causing murmurs of astonishment among the onlookers. Those who entered were mostly well-known figures or powerful entities in the Black-Corner Region, individuals rarely seen by the common folk.

As the trio, watched by innumerable curious eyes, slowly ascended the steps towards the guarded entrance, a myriad of gazes turned towards the three unfamiliar figures. Among them, two were completely shrouded in black robes, their features entirely obscured by shadows, while the third, a young woman dressed in white with snow-white hair, stood out. Her ethereal and otherworldly aura caused many to marvel.

“Who are these three, and why have we never heard of them?”

“Perhaps they are from outside the Black-Corner Region…”

The appearance of Little Healer Immortal was unfamiliar, and murmurs of curiosity arose among the crowd. As the elders manning the entrance noticed the arrival of the trio, their expressions changed upon recognizing the fair and cold face of the one in white. They quickly greeted them with smiling faces, aware of her formidable strength, as they had witnessed the alchemy storm where she showcased her abilities.

“Haha, Mister Yanxia, you finally arrived,” a green-robed elder from the Black Emperor Clan greeted Xiao Yan, bowing slightly and smiling warmly.

Xiao Yan, who was still concealed in his black robe, merely nodded in return, not offering much in reply. The elder, however, did not show any displeasure at Xiao Yan’s seemingly aloof demeanor. A sixth-grade alchemist’s power was far beyond that of an ordinary elder of the clan, and standing beside him was a Battle Sect with frigid eyes.

“Haha, right this way, please,” the elder said, stepping aside and gesturing for them to pass with a smile, noting Xiao Yan’s disinterest in further conversation.

“Thank you.” Xiao Yan returned the gesture and led the way through the dedicated passage, the trio soon disappearing from the sight of the onlookers.

“Whew… that woman has a really chilling presence. Standing next to her made my qi feel like it was about to stop flowing. She truly lives up to her title as a Battle Sect,” the green-robed elder mused, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

“That Yanxia must be the one who refined the pills the other day. I can’t believe someone so young could have achieved such a feat. Even the young patriarch pales in comparison,” another elder remarked, sighing lightly.

“Who could they possibly be? I’ve never heard of these three in the Black-Corner Region before,” a third elder muttered, frowning.

“Forget it. That’s not something we should be worrying about,” the green-robed elder shook his head, glancing down the passage as more guests arrived and welcoming them with a smile.

Xiao Yan and his companions walked through the softly lit passage, and after a few minutes, the view ahead suddenly opened up, revealing a colossal auction hall. The dense rows of seats left Xiao Yan marveling. The scale of this auction was unlike anything he had seen, making the previous auctions in the Jia Ma Empire’s Mi Te Family seem minuscule in comparison.

The massive auction hall was already filled with people, creating a cacophony of chatter. Just as they exited the passage, a rather attractive, scantily clad waitress approached, bowing respectfully, “May I ask if you have a VIP token?”

Xiao Yan glanced over the barely concealed outfit of the attendant, mildly surprised. Before he could react, a low hum came from behind, prompting him to chuckle awkwardly and quickly retrieve the token from his storage ring, handing it to the attendant.

She bowed respectfully and motioned for them to follow her. Xiao Yan and his companions followed through the winding paths, eventually reaching a set of opulently designed front-row booths. The sounds of the noisy crowd were muted within these booths, allowing a clear view of the entire auction floor.

Xiao Yan settled into the plush chair, his eyes scanning the other VIP booths. Some of the attendees, noticing the distinctive appearance of Little Healer Immortal, recognized the trio immediately.

“The one in the black robe must be the mysterious alchemist from a few days ago. I wonder who he is. If there was such a talented alchemist in the Black-Corner Region, we would have known sooner,” Fang Yan, sitting in another VIP booth, frowned, scrutinizing Xiao Yan.

The others with him concurred, shaking their heads in bewilderment.

“Hmm, let’s hope they don’t become an obstacle…” the gray-cloaked man hissed, his eyes fixed intently on Xiao Yan, a growing sense of familiarity gnawing at him.

Feeling the not-so-friendly glances, Xiao Yan’s brow furrowed slightly, noting both the red-haired Fang Yan and the sinister-looking gray-cloaked man. Shaking off his thoughts, he closed his eyes, preparing himself for the upcoming auction.

More and more people filled the auction hall, and by the time all the seats were occupied, the VIP sections were teeming with figures. Xiao Yan’s eyes opened slowly, a soft sigh escaping his lips, “It seems that many strong fighters are here for the Bodhi Body Transformation.”

After sensing the hidden, formidable presences in the VIP section, Xiao Yan realized that, besides Elder Su Qian and the mysterious gray-clothed man, there were at least two other concealed experts. Their strength was enough to evade his keen detection, suggesting they were either Battle Sects or masters skilled in concealment techniques. No matter the case, none of them were to be trifled with.

Little Healer Immortal nodded grimly, realizing the difficulty of the upcoming contest. Just as Xiao Yan pondered, a clear chime rang out from the center of the auction floor, echoing through the hall and silencing the chatter. An energy barrier extended from the stage, sealing it off, a precaution against the unpredictable nature of the Black-Corner Region’s people. The auction, with all its high-stakes items, was about to begin.

Xiao Yan exhaled softly, “Finally, the good show is about to start…”
