In the heart of the Central Region, nestled in the southwest, lies the Blazing Volcano Range, a mountain chain entirely composed of scorching volcanoes. The eye beholds a relentless tapestry of crimson, with plumes of thick white smoke billowing from the peaks, and occasionally, lava streaming down the sides. Even within the broader scope of the Central State, the Blazing Volcano Range is quite renowned, partly due to the presence of the Burning Flame Valley here and also due to the harsh environment. Although this place is not particularly picturesque, the endless expanse of volcanoes makes the fire attribute energy unusually dense, making it an ideal spot for cultivating fire attribute skills. Despite the danger, many cultivators willing to risk their lives come here to train.
The Blazing Volcano Range is not far from Heavenly Yellow City, just a few hours’ journey. With the swift flight of Elder Red Fire’s giant bird, Xiao Yan could sense the surrounding energy gradually becoming more abundant and tinged with a hint of ferocity after about four hours.
Standing on the back of the giant bird, Xiao Yan gazed into the distance. At the edge of his sight, a massive, fiery line appeared, stretching endlessly. “Hehe, Young Rock, that is the Blazing Volcano Range. The headquarters of the Burning Flame Valley is located within,” said Elder Red Fire, smiling. “The fire attribute energy there is very rich, but due to the frequent volcanic eruptions, it carries some ferocity. To absorb it, one must first purify it; otherwise, prolonged cultivation might affect one’s mind.”
Xiao Yan nodded, though he didn’t fear the so-called ferocious energy, thanks to the protection of his hetero-flame.
“Additionally, many fierce beasts dwell in the Blazing Volcano Range. Due to the energy, they are more aggressive and brutal here. Furthermore, the range is vast and some areas remain unexplored by our valley. So, be cautious if you venture alone.”
“Thanks for the reminder, Elder Red Fire,” Xiao Yan replied with a smile.
Elder Red Fire waved his hand dismissively and urged the bird to fly faster. They soared into the mountain range, the temperature rising as they entered. However, this was trivial for Xiao Yan and Elder Red Fire.
Elder Red Fire scanned the mountains, whistled, and the bird slowed, landing at the foot of a red peak. Jumping down, Xiao Yan looked up at two towering red mountains. A winding stone staircase snaked up from the base.
Xiao Yan’s gaze followed the staircase, noticing a subtle spatial fluctuation. “Follow me, Young Rock,” said Elder Red Fire, leading the way up the steps. Xiao Yan followed, eyes scanning the surroundings warily.
At the top of the stairs, they stopped in front of a space barrier. Xiao Yan tested it, feeling a powerful resistance. “So sturdy,” he said, impressed.
“Hehe, the barrier is reinforced by each generation of our valley masters. It can withstand a Dou Zun’s attack. An ordinary Battle Sect cannot break it,” Elder Red Fire explained.
Xiao Yan nodded, acknowledging the depth of the Burning Flame Valley’s resources. Elder Red Fire produced a fiery token from his ring, pressed it against the barrier, and a magical fluctuation split the barrier open. “After you, Young Rock!”
Elder Red Fire stepped through, disappearing, and Xiao Yan followed, stepping into the light. The surroundings were a lush green, unlike the crimson outside. Buildings could be seen in the distance, and faint voices echoed through the valley.
“Truly a world of its own, worthy of being one of the three great valleys,” marveled Xiao Yan.
“Hehe, it’s not a true independent world—that would require a Dou Sage. But our valley has built this oasis in the volcanic world,” Elder Red Fire said proudly.
Xiao Yan smiled, sensing the purified fire energy. Lifting his head, he noticed the sky seemed distorted, indicating the valley was enveloped in a twisted space, much like the inner courtyard, but even more secure.
As Xiao Yan observed, whistling sounds filled the air, and several agile figures landed around them. Recognizing Elder Red Fire, they relaxed and bowed respectfully. These young disciples were well-built, showing their strong martial energy.
“Follow me, Young Rock,” Elder Red Fire said, soaring into the valley. Xiao Yan followed, hearing the whispers of the disciples.
“Could he be a Battle Sect? How young?”
“Maybe he uses age-defying pills.”
“Right, if he’s really that young, he’d rival Miss Fire.”
“Yeah, but too many such prodigies can be discouraging.”
Xiao Yan didn’t hear this, landing in front of a grand, crimson hall. The valley was bustling with red-clad disciples, training and sparring. Many disciples guarded the hall, their vigilant eyes scanning the area.
“Looks like the other alchemists have arrived,” muttered Elder Red Fire.
“Exactly what does your valley master want to refine, requiring so many alchemists?” asked Xiao Yan, frowning.
“Actually, we aim to find the right ones. Those who aren’t chosen will still receive a generous gift,” Elder Red Fire reassured him.
“Selections? If I’m not chosen, I won’t get the Tri-Mystic Change,” Xiao Yan thought, frowning more deeply.
“Let’s see first,” he sighed, following Elder Red Fire. “Since I’m here, I’ll do whatever it takes to get the Tri-Mystic Change!”
