Chapter 478: Play You to Death

Yao Kang and Yao Ye were whispering to each other, their expressions sly and their eyes lecherous.

Shui Miao stood over twenty meters away, yet they didn’t realize his vision was extraordinary and his hearing unusually sharp.

“Truly, a dog can’t change its nature—it can’t help eating shit. I tried so hard to help them, yet they still plotted behind my back. Fine! If that’s the case, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

Shui Miao made up his mind and decided to teach Yao Kang and his son a harsh lesson.

Yet on the surface, Shui Miao pretended not to hear anything.

He was actually quite curious to see what methods Yao Ye could come up with to deal with him.

Yao Kang chuckled, saying he was going to buy some water, but in reality, he went to call a TV station and summon reporters.

Yao Ye, on the other hand, walked over with a grin and said to everyone, “It’s awfully hot today. Why don’t you all rest first? There’s no rush to get this done.”

Hearing this, the site supervisor nodded quickly and followed Yao Kang away with a smile.

Zhang Cheng hesitated briefly before leaving with the two administrators.

Only Yao Ye, Shui Miao, and Chen Bing, sitting inside a nearby car, remained at the scene.

For some unknown reason, Shui Miao had sensed something was off from the beginning and had told Chen Bing to stay inside the car. Chen Bing obediently followed instructions and stayed put. Of course, he wasn’t just sitting there idly—he was still getting used to his new phone and playing around with it.

Yao Ye looked around cautiously, turned on the voice recorder on his phone, and placed it in his pocket. He paid no attention to Chen Bing inside the car and approached Shui Miao with a smile.

“Master,” Yao Ye said, “you’re quite busy, right? Our ancestral tomb issue requires my uncles and many relatives to come before we can proceed. Otherwise, if it were just my family offering 500,000 in cash and a car, that would be too costly, so…”

Yao Ye intentionally exaggerated the amount of money, trying to record Shui Miao’s response and later use it against him.

Born a thug, he wasn’t afraid of failing to extort money.

But Shui Miao had already been on high alert, and he too had placed his phone in his pocket, recording everything. He immediately interrupted loudly, “Yao Ye, hold on! You can eat whatever you want, but you can’t just say anything. When did your family ever give me 500,000 in cash? You need to clarify this. I’m a person of principle. Your father repeatedly begged me to help your family, but you weren’t around then. Now you suddenly show up spouting nonsense—what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to scam me?”

Yao Ye had expected Shui Miao to be off guard and fall into his trap, but he hadn’t anticipated Shui Miao’s high level of vigilance or that he would counter so decisively.

After a brief moment of embarrassment, Yao Ye quickly changed his tone with a grin, “Oops, I meant 200,000 in cash, plus our family’s car. That’s right, right?”

“That 200,000 was willingly paid by your father as a reward. Who do you think you are to question it?” Shui Miao frowned, glaring at Yao Ye with obvious displeasure.

Why was he being so aggressive?

Yao Ye clenched his teeth, barely suppressing his anger.

Before Yao Ye could speak, Shui Miao suddenly said, “Yao Ye, did you go to a brothel last night?”

“Eh…?”

This sudden question caught Yao Ye off guard, because he had indeed visited a prostitute the previous night.

Seeing Yao Ye stunned, Shui Miao inwardly rejoiced at having guessed correctly. Without giving him time to recover, he continued, “I saw you with my own eyes. Do you know what the girl said about you after you left?”

“W-what did she say?”

Still dazed, Yao Ye instinctively asked.

“She said you were useless, like a dead eel,” Shui Miao sneered.

“What! She dares to say that about me!?”

Yao Ye immediately grew furious, but then he realized something, “Wait, how do you know about this? Did you go to a brothel too?”

“Get lost! Do you think I’m as filthy as you? I just happened to pass by and saw you. I also know you’ve been hanging out with thugs, drinking and eating together, collecting protection money, and even pretending to be a police officer to harass street vendors. Do you dare to deny it?” Shui Miao smirked, looking at Yao Ye with disdain.

“What the hell are you anyway!?”

Yao Ye rolled up his sleeves, seemingly ready to throw a punch.

So he really had done all those things! Shui Miao was slightly surprised but then smiled indifferently, “Got your secrets exposed and now you’re furious, wanting to hit me?”

“So what if I hit you? I’ll beat you up and then accuse you of assaulting an officer. You think I won’t?” Yao Ye was truly ready to fight. His IQ was low, his temper worse, and after just a few exchanges, he had been completely provoked.

Shui Miao remained calm and sarcastic, “Being a cop really makes you something, huh! Prostitution, taking bribes, hitting whoever you want—that’s who you are, Yao Ye.”

“Tsk! So what if I did solicited a prostitute? So what if I took bribes? So what if I’m a bad guy? What can you do about it?” Yao Ye, his thug instincts flaring, grabbed Shui Miao’s collar and pointed at him, roaring, “You little punk, I don’t want to waste words with you. Hand over the 200,000 yuan savings book right now! If you don’t, I’ll beat you to death today and throw you into the tomb for the worms to eat. Then I’ll tell everyone you’re a fraud, a cultist con artist.”

“That’s false accusation! The police won’t believe you!” Shui Miao coldly laughed.

“Fuck you! I am the police! Are you blind!?”

Finally losing control, Yao Ye swung a punch at Shui Miao.

Shui Miao quickly extended his left hand, grabbing Yao Ye’s wrist and twisting his body sideways, pulling Yao Ye off balance. Then, using his right hand, he suddenly punched Yao Ye in the stomach. Yao Ye, who frequently visited prostitutes, had long been physically weakened and had no strength to resist.

Shui Miao followed up with a hard kick to Yao Ye’s face, causing immediate nosebleeds.

Then, in a flash, Shui Miao flipped over and pinned Yao Ye, delivering a flurry of punches and kicks. Yao Ye was soon bloodied from head to toe, his front teeth broken, his eyes swollen, unable to move even slightly.

At this moment, Chen Bing finally looked up and noticed the fight between Shui Miao and Yao Ye.

Yao Ye had finally met his match. As he tried to reach for a shovel to fight back, Chen Bing rushed out of the car, grabbed a hammer, and smashed Yao Ye’s hand with it. A scream echoed—the sound of Yao Ye’s hand being shattered.

“Fuck you! Daring to hit my Brother Shui! I’ll hammer you to death!”

Chen Bing was a fearless hothead, raising the hammer again without hesitation.

“Chen Bing, stop! This is none of your business!” Shui Miao, alarmed, quickly shouted at Chen Bing to stop. He then retrieved Yao Ye’s phone from his pocket, compressed the audio recording, and sent it to Chu Miaoyi and Captain Lin. Facing Yao Ye, now covered in blood, Shui Miao roared, “You little punk, you want to challenge me? You’re way too young! I came here specifically for you. That recording you made has already been sent to Chu Miaoyi’s phone. Do you really think you can remain a cop? Scum! Trash! You don’t even deserve to be called a police officer! Today, I’ll show you what real power looks like! I’m going to catch a winged centipede and shove it into your mouth, and see if you still dare to mess with me. I’ll destroy you right now!”

With that, Shui Miao stood up and strode toward a tomb, pulling out a jar from within.
