Chapter 60: Ultra-Modern Cultivation Method (1)

Yang Hao threw all the ingredients needed to refine the main pill into the newly made cauldron X13 had just prepared. Though it was called a pill cauldron, it looked more like a large golden bowl, forged entirely from pure gold, shining brilliantly, and as large as a washbasin.

“Activate the nuclear flame!” Hun Yuanzi ordered X13.

The robot reacted swiftly. Its power source was a nuclear thermal device, and it redirected the heat energy toward the base of the golden basin, creating a source of fire.

Meanwhile, Yang Hao had already synchronized with Hun Yuanzi’s intentions. He quickly swallowed a handful of strength-enhancing pills and activated the Feihua Mirage Steps. Under the pills’ effects, his movements became even more unpredictable and swift.

However, this was nothing compared to the swarm of golden-armored beetles. The enraged insects raised their necks, flexing their neck muscles, and began spitting out golden beads, each trailing a vortex of air. These crimson-golden beetles resembled the muscle-bound brutes of an insect tribe, striking with immense force. Each golden bead packed more power than a bullet, capable of piercing through a human body upon impact.

Fortunately, while dodging, Yang Hao also deployed his five flying swords using the “Yu” technique, forming a protective halo around him. Each golden bead collided with the swords, creating sparks like fireworks, continuously flashing around Yang Hao.

With the strength-enhancing pills keeping him barely in the fight, Yang Hao struggled to survive. But the golden-armored beetles clearly weren’t done yet. At the command of a leader beetle, the sky suddenly darkened as if something massive was rising into the air.

Yang Hao looked up and nearly jumped out of his skin. There were dozens more beetles in the air, diving down from above to attack.

“You didn’t tell me these damned bugs could fly!!” Yang Hao angrily shouted at X13.

But X13 had no time to respond. The robot was fully focused on refining pills inside the golden pot. All the ingredients had melted into black liquid, and the pill refining process was already halfway done. The beetles, however, were focused solely on Yang Hao, not a single one attacking X13.

Yang Hao’s situation was dire. Although his flying swords were exquisite, the “Yu” technique was still new to him, and he hadn’t mastered it well. Worse yet, the effects of the strength-enhancing pills were fading quickly. He could only last a few more minutes before the savage insects would kill him.

“My dear disciple… I’m so sorry,” Hun Yuanzi, sensing the danger, began what sounded like a final farewell.

“You’ve wronged me plenty of times!!” Yang Hao gritted his teeth, defending himself while complaining, “If you had taught me martial arts earlier, I wouldn’t be surrounded and attacked by these damned bugs today.”

“Crisis training is definitely not wrong!” Hun Yuanzi, even in the face of death, insisted stubbornly, “What I truly regret is regarding women. Since I can’t touch women myself but still have a lustful heart, I kept teaching you to act like a lecher. Truthfully, I’ve been secretly watching you with women…”

“What!! You’ve been spying on me every time!”

“You’re my disciple and never paid tuition. What’s wrong with letting your master watch a little?” Hun Yuanzi showed no remorse, “What I truly regret is not teaching you bedroom techniques. Although you’ve had many women, your skills in bed are terrible. That’s my biggest regret.”

“Shut up!!” Yang Hao’s control over the flying swords was faltering, and many golden beads were now getting through. He had no time to think about bedroom skills anymore.

“When we reach hell, I’ll definitely teach you all the intimate techniques of the Dan Ding Dual Cultivation Sect. Don’t worry, my dear disciple.”

“Worry nothing! You old pervert, stop talking nonsense and look around! What’s going on here!” Yang Hao urgently interrupted Hun Yuanzi. He suddenly noticed something odd. Although the golden-armored beetles were attacking from both ground and air, their golden beads seemed to be targeting areas around him rather than directly at his body. Now, piles of golden beads were already stacked around him, reaching over two people high. If not for his flying swords blocking, these golden beads would have buried him already.

“Oh no!!” Hun Yuanzi finally realized the severity of the situation and stopped his rambling, “These damned bugs have changed tactics—they’re trying to crush us with gold!”

This was exactly what Yang Hao had just realized. The golden-armored beetles had probably realized their golden beads couldn’t penetrate Yang Hao’s defenses, so they began piling the beads around him, intending to bury him under an increasingly tall pile.

Now the golden beads were over three meters high, precariously stacked like the tip of a pyramid. Yang Hao sweated coldly as he looked at them. These were all pure gold. If they were just rocks, he could endure the weight and break free with his flying swords. But gold was terrifyingly heavy—these beads together probably weighed several tons. If they all fell on someone, they would be crushed to death in an instant.

Suddenly, the beetles in the air flapped their wings and dove straight toward the top of the golden pile. With a thunderous boom, like a summer storm breaking the sky, Yang Hao saw nothing but a golden blur before an endless stream of golden beads poured down on him. At the same time, a black ray of light shot out from X13.

The entire golden mountain collapsed, completely burying Yang Hao. Where he had stood moments ago was now a small hill of gold. The immense weight, even greater than a hydraulic press, caused the ground to sink by a meter.

Under such pressure, not only would Yang Hao be crushed, but even an imperial mechanical warrior wearing alloy armor would likely be killed instantly.

After burying Yang Hao, the beetles considered their mission complete and ceased their attack. They paused briefly, noticed no reaction from the golden hill, and began to retreat.

“Yang Hao!! Yang Hao!!” X13 flew over, circling anxiously near the golden hill, “Old ghost! You old fool! Are you still alive?”

But no matter how much it called, there was no response from the golden hill. It seemed that even the most powerful expert buried inside would already be dead.

As the beetles slowly withdrew, X13 suddenly noticed some movement within the golden hill. It wasn’t caused by a human, for no human could emit such energy. It seemed as if the golden hill didn’t contain a man, but rather a nuclear-powered furnace buried within.
