Chapter 161: The Peerless Miracle Pill (3)

Regarding that ancient history of dragon slaying, the dragons and ordinary humans had different origins. Though the dragon did not live through that bloody era, it had heard tales of how, in ancient times, humans sought to create a pill powerful enough to exterminate the dragon race, which led them to hunt dragons relentlessly. To ensure the survival of their species and avoid annihilation by these inferior beings, the dragons once retaliated after the Dragon Slaying Era by wiping out half of humanity and then collectively migrating to remote, uninhabited places.

Now, Yang Hao had swallowed a pill—one that surprisingly resembled the legendary one said to possess unimaginable power capable of bringing catastrophic destruction to dragons.

The black dragon stared in shock as Yang Hao’s body underwent a sudden, tremendous transformation. His entire body radiated an otherworldly change. Normally, a human body couldn’t do this—it is made of flesh and bone, without enough moisture or blood to cause such a phenomenon. Yet at this moment, Yang Hao’s body seemed to boil from within, emitting golden rays that shot out from the top of his head. These beams weren’t from dragon breath, but originated from deep within Yang Hao’s body, piercing through skin and flesh effortlessly, like flying swords.

Yang Hao appeared as if he were set ablaze, roaring and shrieking, his face twisted in unbearable agony. He tightly clutched his head, as if his precious skull were about to explode at any moment.

Although Yang Hao was in excruciating pain, the black dragon’s expression grew increasingly solemn. In its ancient green eyes, long as unchanging as eternity itself, flickers of emotion stirred—like a long-dormant well suddenly disturbed, awakening forgotten history.

The black dragon noticed that the dragon breath which had constantly surrounded Yang Hao’s head had vanished—not disappeared, but absorbed. As Yang Hao writhed on the ground, golden light radiating from his body, the dragon breath was slowly drawn into his skin like nourishment, becoming a miraculous source of energy.

The chance of a lifeform being nourished by dragon breath was one in a million, and the only possible outcome was gaining the power of a dragon—even evolving into one.

Although Yang Hao was still trapped in unbearable pain and nowhere near fully unleashing the might of a dragon, his body had undeniably completed a transformation.

Every dragon must undergo three transformations to fully unleash its power.

Yang Hao had completed one. Two more, and he might become a unique individual in the world—one who possessed the true power of a dragon, an unparalleled supreme being throughout the universe!

But Yang Hao would never get the chance for further transformations.

The black dragon, Kadis, finally understood what was happening before its eyes. Suddenly, it trembled, its massive body generating such force that it vibrated the surrounding air, making even the dragon’s lair hum.

Kadis knew clearly that the young man writhing on the ground before it, holding his head, was about to become a miracle. Yet the birth of this miracle might herald a catastrophe for the dragon race.

What would a human possessing dragon power bring to this universe? How many disasters would it bring upon the dragon race? Would there be another Dragon Slaying Era, and could the dragons survive it this time?

Kadis dared not think further, nor did it need to. It had made a decision: Yang Hao must be completely destroyed before he fully masters the dragon’s power. Right now, Yang Hao had lost all his energy—easier to deal with than a child.

Without hesitation, Kadis slightly shifted its massive, mountain-like body and, faster than lightning, appeared before Yang Hao. Its claw rose high, five black, razor-sharp talons extended menacingly. If this claw struck down, no matter how terrifying the power brewing inside Yang Hao, it would instantly be crushed into a pulp.

The wind howled, thunder roared, and the dragon’s palm was unstoppable. Even a Titan standing here would likely be unable to save Yang Hao.

“Wait!” A voice suddenly exploded in Kadis’s mind. “Calm down!!”

Startled, the black dragon halted its strike mid-air. Dragons were the most powerful consciousness beings in the universe. Generally, ordinary humans couldn’t communicate with dragons. Even deities or consciousness beings needed permission to interact with dragons. A direct intrusion into a dragon’s mind without invitation was something only another dragon could achieve.

Kadis stopped its attack and glanced around. Where was this other dragon? In this divine realm, there were barely any Kadis dragons, scattered far and wide, rarely gathering together.

“Stop looking around! Over here!” The voice continued brazenly. “Right here, right here! How could you miss me, the most handsome and spirited guy ever?”

Finally concentrating, Kadis traced the source of the voice—and it came from Yang Hao, the very one beneath its mighty claw.

Yang Hao was no longer in unbearable pain, his head no longer feeling like it would explode. Instead, he now stood confidently with his hands on his hips, full of energy, as resilient as a cockroach. Even more astonishingly, Yang Hao could now directly communicate with Kadis without even opening his mouth.

“Uh… What’s your name again?” Yang Hao scratched his head, struggling for conversation. This question seemed better than asking about the weather.

“Hey… Why should I tell you?”

“You already told me without me asking…;:. You’re not as smart as I thought, huh? This black dragon seems easy to fool.

Actually, Yang Hao himself found the situation strange and miraculous. At first, after swallowing the Dragon Breath Pill, he indeed felt unbearable pain, unable to even catch his breath. The power of the pill and the absorbed dragon breath nearly roasted him alive. Then he felt his body undergoing some magical transformation. After wave upon wave of change, Yang Hao was delighted to discover his body had become completely different. He needed time to understand this change fully, but at least he could sense the expansion of his dantian and meridians.

If his previous body was like a water vat, already nearly full of his inner pill and energy, then his transformed body was now like a vast lake. His inner pill floated alone in the dantian, spewing energy furiously, yet it couldn’t even fill a tiny corner.

Even more miraculously, Yang Hao discovered he could now communicate with the black dragon. Without opening his mouth, he could speak directly through consciousness, just like his former master, Hunyuan, had spoken with him.

Thinking of Hunyuan, a pang of sorrow struck Yang Hao’s heart. But he knew this wasn’t the time to grieve. That damned black dragon, Blackman, clearly wanted him dead. In terms of combat strength, even after his transformation, Yang Hao was still far inferior to a dragon. His only hope of survival lay in his silver tongue, capable of convincing even the dead to rise.

“Big Brother Blackman… Look at your face, so angry, really spoiling the atmosphere. As such a noble and majestic little dragon, why do you insist on killing me? We’ve never met before, no hatred or grudges. I couldn’t possibly have offended you. Fighting and killing is so unpleasant.”

“I kill because I want to. Do I need your permission?” The black dragon was indeed arrogant.

“True, true. You don’t need my permission.” Yang Hao feared weeping women, not arrogant men. “But here’s the thing: if you kill me without giving a reason, I’ll be very upset. An upset person, when dead, becomes resentful. A resentful soul becomes a vengeful ghost. Vengeful ghosts are troublesome. Although they can’t harm mighty Big Brother Blackman, they can annoyingly buzz around you like flies, driving you mad. Big Brother, after killing so many people, have you ever been haunted by vengeful ghosts?”

“Stop!” Blackman roared, glancing around to ensure no vengeful ghosts lingered nearby. Whether out of fear of being haunted by Yang Hao or a rare moment of mercy, it relented slightly. “Ask your question quickly. I still need to sleep after killing you.”

“Why do you gather so many people, then kill them one by one with dragon breath?” Yang Hao refrained from calling him “perverted,” though the meaning was similar. “It’s not like collecting antiques. Even if you wanted to sell them, no one would dare buy.”

“I have plenty of antiques. Collecting a few humans isn’t bad.” Blackman sneered coldly. It wasn’t truly stupid, not easily fooled by Yang Hao. It had just been too long since it last conversed with anyone, making it slightly rusty at interactions. “I’ll tell you the truth anyway. You’re about to die soon.”

“Tch, even a dying dragon knows compassion,” Yang Hao muttered bitterly.

But Blackman’s eyes dimmed, and its voice turned unusually somber, clearly stirred by Yang Hao’s question, triggering painful memories.

“Once, our dragon race ruled the universe, invincible and arrogant. Even other divine races, no matter how discontented, dared not provoke us, for offending the Kadis dragon race meant only death!” Blackman sighed, and Yang Hao instinctively shrank his neck, fearing another blast of dragon breath. “But since entering this divine realm, there have only been a few of us. Where’s the audience to witness our might? Who in this world still remembers the glory of the dragon race?”
