Chapter 18: The Senior Brother Licks Frantically

Lin Fan felt somewhat disappointed. Being beaten up by Wang Tianfeng, a late sixth-stage cultivator the day after tomorrow, would only earn him ten experience points. How was he supposed to carry on like this?

Although there were many outer sect disciples, and some cultivators even surpassed Wang Tianfeng in power, the difference of one or two stages wouldn’t grant much experience.

“Sigh…”

This single sigh conveyed Lin Fan’s endless frustration.

Lin Fan didn’t feel a strong sense of belonging toward the Holy Devil Sect. After all, as a modern person, he didn’t easily respect or submit to anyone. However, there were still a few people in the sect he genuinely liked.

For example, Senior Brothers Ni and Yin.

Lin Fan walked aimlessly down the path. When he stopped and found himself in front of a residence, he was startled. Wasn’t this the place of Senior Brother Han Lu?

Regarding Senior Han, Lin Fan truly felt disappointed. Originally, he had used the “Monkey Steals the Peach” technique on him, hoping Han would display the style of an elder senior and lead the way. But unexpectedly, Han had simply pretended nothing had happened.

He was just too damn patient.

Now, with the “Titanium-Class Devil Body” evolved into the “Indestructible Devil Body,” Han, at late fourth-stage, couldn’t offer Lin Fan any experience at all. Yet, since he had come this far, Lin Fan thought it might not be a bad idea to stir things up a bit—or perhaps strengthen their relationship.

Lin Fan clenched his fists, smiling slightly. In truth, his main goal was to steal another peach to gain experience for “Monkey Steals the Peach.”

Without hesitation, Lin Fan tidied his clothes outside, adjusted his hairstyle, and gave a satisfied pat to his hands, ready to deliver an uninvited surprise.

Inside the room.

Han Lu had always been diligently cultivating, day and night. Except for five hours of rest, he never wasted a single moment.

He had joined the sect late, missing the optimal cultivation period. His talent was also mediocre, and upon entry, he had already been labeled as someone destined for limited achievements.

But Han Lu never gave up, because he had the “Jade Purifying Vase.” He believed that as long as he had this treasure, he could definitely become an ultimate expert.

Stuck at late fourth-stage for a whole month, Han Lu was preparing tonight to break through to late fifth-stage.

Han Lu was a low-key person, capable of enduring hardship. He knew he mustn’t act too prominently until his strength reached a certain level.

At this moment, Han Lu held up a porcelain bowl, inside which a fragrant liquid swirled.

As Han Lu inhaled the aroma, a smile crept across his lips. The liquid in the bowl was made from the “Spirit Nourishing Pills” distributed monthly by the sect. After painstakingly accumulating them for two months, he had ground them into powder, then mixed them with water. Adding a few drops of “Immortal Fat Dew” might just help him breakthrough to late sixth-stage.

Han Lu clenched his fists in excitement. As long as his cultivation kept improving, he would eventually catch the attention of the sect’s higher-ups. With their attention, he could access more resources—unlike his current dire straits.

He had to struggle even to get hold of such low-grade pills as “Spirit Nourishing Pills.”

Han Lu then took out the Jade Purifying Vase, carefully extracting the Immortal Fat Dew and dropping it into the bowl.

The already fragrant liquid now became even more enticing.

Satisfied, Han Lu nodded, then holding the bowl, stood by the door, peering through the keyhole at the night sky outside.

“I will definitely become a dragon among men, feared and worshipped by all under heaven—Han Lu!” He declared passionately, then raised the bowl, ready to drink it all in one go.

“Bang…”

“Senior Brother Han, your junior brother dropped by uninvited to chat a bit. Do you have the time?” Lin Fan pushed the door open as if entering his own home, shouting with a smile.

“Huh… Senior Brother Han, where are you?” Seeing the room empty, Lin Fan was momentarily puzzled. Where had Senior Han gone?

At that moment, Lin Fan noticed the floor felt damp. Looking down, he saw a wet patch with water stains.

“Senior Brother Han, you… why are you behind the door?” Lin Fan was taken aback. He opened the door and found Han Lu standing there, dazed and lifeless, as if all hope had vanished from his eyes.

Han Lu trembled slightly, his hollow gaze fixed on the puddle on the ground. Months of painstaking effort, all gone…

Lin Fan’s eyes darted. Seeing Han’s current state, as if he had lost something dear, Lin Fan realized he might have caused trouble.

Not knowing what to do next, Lin Fan scratched his head. “Oops, wrong door! Senior Brother Han, I thought this was my place. Sorry, Senior Brother, I’ll be going now.”

Without waiting for Han Lu’s reply, Lin Fan quickly pulled the door shut, ready to escape.

“Stop.”

Just as Lin Fan was about to flee, Han Lu spoke.

Lin Fan turned, smiling foolishly at Senior Brother Han.

“Senior Brother Han, anything else I can do for you?” Lin Fan asked.

“Nothing. Just go.” Han Lu’s body trembled violently, yet he forced himself to remain calm. The sight made Lin Fan a little fearful.

Sometimes, holding back too much could really damage one’s health.

Without another word, Lin Fan immediately retreated.

After Lin Fan left, Han Lu calmly shut the door. But the moment the door closed, Han Lu erupted.

Plop…

He dropped to his knees, tears streaming down as he stared at the puddle on the ground.

“What sin have I committed, Han Lu, that I should suffer such a fate? If I don’t kill you, Lin Fan, I am no man!” At that moment, Han Lu’s expression twisted into one of utmost fury, filled with hatred.

Crying bitterly, Han Lu stood up again, slightly opening the door to check outside. After confirming no one was there, he quickly shut and locked it tightly, then immediately threw himself onto the floor.

At that moment, the silent room was filled only with the sound of licking.

If Lin Fan had still been there, he would have covered his eyes in disbelief.

It was too dirty. Far too dirty.

“The medicinal power, it’s still here…” Han Lu, who had been utterly grief-stricken, suddenly broke into a wild grin. He began licking the floor furiously, so intensely that it seemed like the bricks might melt. In no time, he nearly carved a hole in the ground.

Only after the puddle had completely dried up did he immediately sit cross-legged on his bed to cultivate.

Though most of the medicinal power had dissipated, reaching late sixth-stage was now unlikely.

But there was still a slim chance for late fifth-stage.

Back at his quarters, Lin Fan lay on his bed, legs crossed, hands behind his head.

“Looks like Senior Brother Han isn’t that simple after all,” Lin Fan muttered to himself.

That puddle on the floor had given off a rich fragrance. Anyone with a brain could tell it was something valuable.

Lin Fan knew exactly what it was. He understood it was something no ordinary outer sect disciple could easily obtain.

As to how Han Lu had managed to get it, Lin Fan wasn’t quite sure.

But for Lin Fan, such matters weren’t particularly important. With his system, he already felt unstoppable.
