Chapter 1612: Shattering the Boundaries

“THE GATE OF SILENT DEATH STOLEN?!” Hearing those words from Yuantian Hun, the expressions of the three wiry elders darkened dramatically, one of them angrily bellowing, “Yuantian Hun, we schemed for many long years and finally cultivated four Gates of Silent Death, and you’ve managed to lose one in such a short time?!” Yuantian Hun showed unease and deep wrath, never expecting just a tiny slip would give Xiao Yan an opening. The formation the group was crafting now—a notorious, mighty array from ages past—needed to establish these four Silent Gates, creating a domain of death. Even seven or eight-star Dou Supreme warriors entering its realm will find themselves shrouded by endless deadly aura till they inevitably perish. Were it fully enacted, the array could wreak massive havoc on the allied forces; yet none anticipated this mishap at such a crucial time.

“That brat’s soul actually attained the imperial level; I hadn’t expected him to swiftly spot my Soulgem hidden within the Gate of Silent Death, erasing my soul’s imprint!” Yuantian Hun hissed with deep bitterness.

“What now—our bodies already drain the last of our vitality, and this action further consumes what we once saved. At the least, considerable rest and healing shall follow to prepare another effort; during those respite days, if a massive battle reappears, we would be entirely incapable!” A thin old man, clearly agitated, cast a glowering eye at Yuantian Hun then swerved toward the other pair.

“This much sacrifice won’t suffice unless purposeful action matches. First, trigger the array to wound the allies as severely as possible. Once our Hun族 unlocks and accesses the Palace of Ancient Emperor Tu She’s legacy, our leader attains an Emperor-Dou status beyond mere legend. From then forth, even resurrection shall become a trivial affair,” a sallow elder declared in a sinister tone, his sharp gaze darting about the grim setting.

“Nn.” Hushed agreements echoed from others—this path had no turning point.

“Yuantian Hun,” the dusky-faced elder snarled, turning, “is not time’s essence still yours to control! Knew we earlier this outcome, never had we sanctioned saving Hun Feng beforehand—a futile endeavor now at hand. Beyond being one of our venerables in the Hun clan, had this been differently handled, Old Man I would have cut loose already!” Recognizing his grievous fault yet aware too that further words couldn’t alter events, Yuantian sulked while silently reseizing and, flick of thought later, stood to skies’ side, where torrents of grimness bellowed from his grasp toward the last remaining dead portals to craft into the shadow-born domain—its engulfing veil smoothers entire mountain lines, lethal whispers invading every being’s innermost sanctuary.

XIAO Yan will know anguish! Yuantian Hun exhaled torrents upon torrents of decay; his expression morphed hideous.

This fatal wave spilled like creeping doom onto allies’ ranks now gathered, eyes sharply locked outside at the encroaching pitch, sensing with rising dread the relentless invasion crawling against every bodily fiber. Such invasion defied any blocking of soul or Dou Qi effort.

“Its the mythic death-array domain… I underestimated this clan deploying such terror.” Lei Ying, Yan Jin, numerous Gu lineage might-beings surveyed with furrowed brow these looming clouds of death—though they might endure, companions less able to withstand—losses here would come devastatingly steep.

“We should break clear quickly…” Mumbled Gulei, Black Abyss King, grave from his prior confrontation: two Soul-clan seven-Stars shackling his full strength; the trio that matched Hun Clan’s Four Devils’ might—heretofore unheard! Hidden for years!—surpasses ancient Gu strength many times over; even uniting Fire, Thunder clans besides天府 Alliance seemed narrowly averting total annihilation.

“No escaping this swiftly. This is established as dead space… these vapors mask even detecting our way; random escape could drain our forces dangerously quicker…”

“Yet lingering too risks more danger,” murmured Gudao with bated breath one of Gu Clan’s Holy Trifinity, their predicament dire.

“Gu Yuans might held firm by Hun Tian Emperor; assistance might prove difficult,” the炎族 Flame Fairy sighed deeply, her aura dimmer since battle-scar in prior clashes. Others quietened, unexpecting of such quick reversal!

“Hhshh!” Amidst their quandaries, subtle wind-sharp cuts arose sudden; from the mist of death sprouted numerous ebony-tipped spears streaking in.

Sudden ambush unsettled alliance as black spears seeped death so sharp, defense failed utterly; certain among alliance were impaled outright falling as corpses, bones bleaching from death’s breath seeping through their brittle frames.

“Damnage!” Stamped with peril, Lei Ying fumed. Withdrawing through that dying curtain proved their next move—until movement surged at frontlines: sudden writh from dark mist followed by emergence of an identikit fourth great gate.

“All, ready now it’s not attack! It be my sound” the massive monolith above echoed familiarly.

Could that truly be… Xiao Yan! The sight of youthful form atop reassured, as all eyes found him!

“Form ranks! Death’s domain proves treacherous yes—but its core rests upon four of those Silent Death gates,” Xiao bellowed, his tone steel, “Yet remember, now only three control its structure, and one ours own—I commandeered its axis before arrival here!”

Joy flashed across faces but haste kept tongues quiet as gestures gathered skies of warriors swiftly to follow:

“March forth!”

Snap of intent, Xiao pointed downward—the stolen gate soared skybound covering the advancing force below. Suction erupted like a ravenous maw swallowing all dead vapors near drawn into its belly.

With danger withdrawn momentarily, allied ranks eased pressure—their Qi resumed its swift circulation freely renewed. “Who’ would’ave! Xiao has some chops grabbing those Silent Death gates…” marveled a Gulei’s stunned praise shared widely across leaders like Yan Jin and Lei Ying, the relief shared immense—if he lacked such, and if this perfect array had formed unchallenged… annihilation might once have mirrored ancient legends!

“Xiu-xiux!” As the allies raced toward death’s borders again, alarm spread within Hun ranks—thus spurt a new massive limb of death from those very fogs thousands of feet high; crashing down like a godswipe aimed squarely against the entire allied line.

Xiao Yan flashed sky high; Xiaoyi materialized atop his shoulders. Thanks to Xiao gaining soul-empery, even Xiaoyi’s essence turned dreadfully powerful—surpassing nettle-flame horrors at Fire-Lotus dimensions once before in that sealed domain!

With a ‘Hmph!’ Xiaoyi let loose a deluge flame torrent crashing against giant palm; a high-piercing shriek tore sky and filled space, alongside stinging stench of rots and decay spreading wide.

As Xiaoyi countered, Xiao transformed—thirty hundred-foot ghostly projection coiled into being behind Xiao. Unleashed wails shook air with thunderous force! From these reverberating pulses—waves of death around dissolved. Clear ahead emerged dim translucent veil beyond, and upon other side a figure unmistakable: Yuantian Hun’s shape!

Lei Ying! Yan Jin Elder! Strike alongside breaking into this realm!”

Hearing Xiao’s command the elders rushed actions immediately, unleashing devastating attacks in tandem from surrounding; all converged—target was Yuantian Hun’s fading expression—impaling veil in violent collision. The barrier groaned and screamed, and—snap! It burst like glass shattering to dust.

As Death Dimension splattered sky turned bright; warm glow again touched Earth!

“Phoo-chh!” In that shattering, the three aged elders up sky gasped pale, each spurt forth crimson—despair gripped their hollows at the failure of the array and their grand strategy crumbling this day.
