Chapter 58: The Plan for Revenge

In nearly every Kemal Arena across all regions, there would always be such a small room. Usually located in an unremarkable corner on the topmost level of the arena, it appeared to be an ordinary staff office during regular times, and was seemingly always empty.

Most people who passed by this small room would be puzzled, unsure of its purpose or why it existed at all. Even the arena staff responsible for cleaning had no key to the room.

Yet, despite appearing abandoned, this little room was always meticulously cleaned by one or two highly-ranked fighters who treated the task like devout worshippers tending to a sacred shrine. Perhaps most people never noticed, but whenever something significant was about to happen in the Kemal Arena, this seemingly deserted room would gather a group of individuals who rarely ever met.

When Zhang Wen arrived at the Kemal Arena, he didn’t hesitate for a moment, nor did he ask anyone for directions. Without delay, he led the red-haired little girl beside him straight to that small room, which appeared no different from usual.

“Oh! You’re here, kid! Come on in,” a familiar, tipsy face appeared as the door opened.

“Hey, old drunkard! What kind of mischief are you guys up to this time? Ironface rushed me over here the moment I arrived in Casares. I didn’t dare to delay at all,” Zhang Wen greeted cheerfully. This peculiar figure, one of the “Three Freaks of Casares,” never seemed serious. He welcomed casual jokes and playful banter from others, and would even be delighted by it rather than offended.

“Hehe! No worries, you’ll find out soon enough! Who’s this little girl?” the old drunkard chuckled, glancing casually at Xiao Xi.

“As for her… she’s one of my students now,” Zhang Wen replied with a smile.

“Oh! Your student, huh? Hoho… Well, come on in then,” the old drunkard gave a knowing grin and invited both of them inside.

“You’re here,” Ironface, who had been waiting inside, simply nodded in greeting as Zhang Wen entered.

Zhang Wen nodded back and then scanned the room. He quickly noticed that the bounty fighters present, while not necessarily the absolute elite of the Casares Arena, were all “elites” within their ranks—fighters who had surpassed the strength expected of their bounty level but had not yet officially advanced.

Additionally, the alluring and seductive manager who ran the arena was also present. In fact, this manager, who was the dream lover of over ninety percent of the arena’s bounty fighters, was another non-bounty fighter with access to this small room.

Besides a few familiar faces, most of the bounty fighters in the room had never seen Zhang Wen’s true appearance before. Upon seeing two unfamiliar faces, the crowd exchanged curious glances and whispered among themselves, speculating about his identity.

However, the murmurs only lasted a short while before the room quieted down. After all, everyone present had earned their reputation through blood and battle in the Casares Arena. Having experienced countless strange events in their lifetimes, remaining calm under pressure had long become second nature to these seasoned warriors.

“Hey! Masked guy, been waiting for you a while,” one of the other “Three Freaks of Casares,” known as Shura, whispered to Zhang Wen with only the two of them able to hear.

“Hehe, long time no see,” Zhang Wen smiled slightly and sat down beside him.

“You seem even stronger than before,” Shura suddenly looked surprised and stared at him intently as Zhang Wen settled into his seat.

“Ha! That’s right. I had a bit of an unexpected gain during my trip to the Sandara Forest,” Zhang Wen chuckled and nodded, then turned serious. “From your perspective, how strong do you think I am now?”

“Hmm…” Shura studied Zhang Wen for a moment. “Judging purely by the aura you give off, you’ve barely reached the threshold of a tenth-tier expert. But… my instincts tell me you’re far beyond that. Still, I think I’m stronger than you,” Shura, usually a man of few words, even cracked a rare joke at the end.

Zhang Wen was momentarily stunned by Shura’s joke, then playfully nudged his shoulder. “Oh? So during the time I was away in Sandara Forest, you’ve had quite a few breakthroughs yourself, huh?”

“Hehe, more or less. But a lot of it is thanks to you. Watching your fights against those guys from Fira Planet gave me a lot of inspiration.”

“Is that so? Then congratulations! It seems like the Casares Arena will soon have another Saint-tier expert.”

“If I polish myself a bit more, I think I’ll be close,” Shura clenched his fists. “I’ve been stuck at the Expert tier for too long. I wonder if I’ll ever get a chance to touch the threshold of the Super-Expert level in this lifetime.”

“There will be a chance,” Zhang Wen sighed, and both fell into a brief silence.

As they waited quietly, a few more bounty fighters entered the room. Finally, when the number reached ten, Ironface opened his eyes and stood up. He silently locked the door.

“Oh! Is the meeting about to start? Ironface, Manager Angelique, what’s this all about?” the bounty fighters asked excitedly. Even the previously restless Xiao Xi couldn’t help but perk up her ears.

“Hehe! We’ve gathered you all here today for one reason only—Governor Temiso has once again come to us personally, asking for our help,” the beautiful manager of the Casares Arena smiled.

Given the Kemal Arena’s formidable reputation, many wealthy individuals and adventuring parties seeking protection for journeys into the Sandara Forest often turned to the arena’s bounty fighters for assistance. As a result, most Kemal Arena managers also served as “arena brokers,” handling external missions that formed a significant part of both the arena’s and the fighters’ income.

Angelique, the beautiful manager, frequently introduced side jobs to the arena’s bounty fighters. Naturally, this wasn’t the first time the fighters had heard of a commission from Governor Temiso.

“Oh… Governor Temiso again,” the bounty fighters chuckled. “Has the governor heard rumors of an assassination attempt and wants someone to guard him?”

“No, not this time,” Angelique smiled and shook her head.

“Hehe! Whatever the governor wants, we’re all ears. Angelique, big sis, who are these two? We’ve never seen them before. Are they special envoys from the governor?”

“Oh! Almost forgot to introduce,” Angelique playfully covered her mouth with her hand. “This is Professor Zhang Wen from the Almishus Academy. And if you guys keep grinning like that, better watch your skin when you step into the ring. He’s not an envoy from the governor, but the full representative of the Hermit. The Hermit had something urgent to attend to, so he asked Zhang Wen to attend the meeting on his behalf.”

“Ahh! So he’s a friend of the Hermit Brother…” The previously teasing bounty fighters immediately looked awkward.

The sudden shift in expressions on the faces of these burly, fierce-looking men was so comical that Xiao Xi almost burst into laughter.

“Alright, alright. Now that everyone’s introduced, we’re all friends. Let’s get back to business,” Angelique smoothly steered the atmosphere back on track. Her beautiful eyes swept across the room as she continued with a gentle smile. “If it were just another commission from Governor Temiso, I wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to gather you all here. But a few days ago, our Casares Arena was rather ‘welcomed’ by those scumbags from Fira Planet. If we don’t properly ‘thank’ them in return, people might start doubting our Casares hospitality.”

“Yeah! We definitely need to thank those bastards! Let them know that Casares people aren’t easy targets!”

Most bounty fighters who had carved out a name for themselves in the arena were naturally hot-blooded individuals. Now, stirred up by the dream lover of nearly every fighter in the room, the mood in the small room quickly turned explosive.

“Alright!” Angelique smiled as the fighters vented their emotions, then clapped her hands lightly to restore order. “Governor Temiso has asked us to teach those scumbags from Fira Planet a lesson. But I think we should aim even higher!”

“Angelique, big sis, tell us what to do! We’re all with you!”

“Good,” Angelique nodded in satisfaction. “The team for this mission will be all of you here. Of course, Ironface and the old drunkard will stay behind in Casares. So this mission to Fira Planet will be led by Shura. Everyone is to gather at the spaceport the day after tomorrow. Any objections?”

“No problem!” the bounty fighters nodded firmly.

“And if any of you come back from Fira Planet without at least one rank increase, you’ll be cleaning the toilets for a month! Got it?”

“Haha! Of course!”

“Then… boys, let’s go turn Fira Planet upside down!”

“Yeah!” With Angelique’s powerful shout, the bounty fighters roared in excitement. Even Xiao Xi, sitting beside Zhang Wen, couldn’t help but blush with excitement.

“This is so fun! So fun! I want to join too!” As soon as they exited the small room where the bounty fighters had gathered, Xiao Xi couldn’t even wait for the others to disperse before grabbing Zhang Wen’s arm tightly and shouting excitedly.

“Oh? Little beauty, you’re interested in martial arts combat too?” Angelique had somehow appeared behind Xiao Xi, smiling as she looked at the excited red-haired girl.

“Huh? What do you mean by that? Are you underestimating me?” Xiao Xi immediately retorted angrily.

“Hehe! Of course not! You’re a very mature and capable young lady,” Angelique said with a charming smile.

Under Angelique’s alluring gaze, Xiao Xi’s face turned bright red. “Ah… r-really?” The red-haired girl lowered her head shyly.

“Of course! My eyes never lie,” Angelique’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Zhang Wen, since you brought her to our meeting, are you really planning to let her join this mission?” After teasing the red-haired girl until she nearly buried her face in her chest, Angelique finally turned to Zhang Wen with a serious smile.

“Yeah,” Zhang Wen nodded slightly helplessly.

Given Xiao Xi’s current state, even if Zhang Wen wanted to leave her behind in Casares, she probably wouldn’t agree. And he definitely couldn’t leave Xiao Xi alone at Almishus Academy. So, taking her to Fira Planet was Zhang Wen’s only choice.

“I see. Although she’s certainly strong enough to join this mission, you should know that this mission is different from ordinary arena battles. When dealing with foreign fighters, they’ll use any dirty tricks they can think of. Those guys from Fira Planet won’t hold back,” Angelique glanced at Xiao Xi with concern.

“Hehe!” Zhang Wen shook his head and smiled. Xiao Xi also straightened her back and wore a confident smile.

Although Angelique was an expert at reading people, she clearly underestimated Xiao Xi this time. She probably never imagined that this seemingly innocent red-haired girl was not some delicate flower from a greenhouse, but the younger sister of Agate, the No.3 Executor of the Ji Society!

“Well then. If you think it’s okay, I’ll get her a membership card for the arena. Good luck, little beauty.” Seeing the confident expressions on Zhang Wen and Xiao Xi’s faces, Angelique didn’t ask further. She waved at the two with a smile and left gracefully, leaving behind a faint scent of perfume.

Before Zhang Wen and Xiaoxi left the Kemal Arena, staff members had already, at Angel’s request, processed the identity card for Xiaoxi. Then, the excited little red-haired beauty began chirping nonstop in Zhang Wen’s ear, showing off her new identity card repeatedly. This continued all the way until they returned to the Almace Academy.

Due to the recent terrorist attack and the “mysterious disappearance” of Robert and Linoah, the Almace Academy had fallen into slight disarray regarding its teaching schedule. Although the Survival Competition had ended two or three days ago and most of the participating teams had returned to the academy, regular classes had not resumed.

Zhang Wen, being one of the key witnesses of the Sandra Forest incident, had been staying at the governor’s mansion in Temiso for several days, assisting the governor’s secretary Mishia and her two female aides from the Eagle Guard in compiling their investigation reports. Therefore, this was the first time Zhang Wen had returned to Almace Academy since the start of the Survival Competition.

“Oh! So this is Almace Academy. It’s definitely nothing like those rural schools back home!” As they walked along the wide academy boulevard, Xiaoxi’s attention was quickly drawn to the tall buildings lining the road and the students dressed in Almace uniforms bustling about.

Similarly, the curious red-haired girl attracted the attention of many passing male students. After all, even in the Almace Academy, known for its abundance of beautiful girls, Xiaoxi was still considered exceptionally cute.

Discovering that she had become the center of male attention, Xiaoxi was very pleased with herself. She secretly giggled with pride, humming a cheerful tune while proudly walking ahead of Zhang Wen with her head held high.

Zhang Wen was not at all annoyed by Xiaoxi’s childish behavior. On the contrary, he watched her childishly playful antics with an amused smile, enjoying the show.

However, although Zhang Wen never tried to stop her, Xiaoxi’s pride didn’t last long. While crossing the famous artificial lake within the Almace Academy, the funny tuft of hair on top of Xiaoxi’s head, which Zhang Wen had affectionately dubbed “the silly hair,” gently swayed as if caught in a breeze.

As her “silly hair” wobbled, Xiaoxi’s previously bright and cheerful expression suddenly turned gloomy. Zhang Wen then noticed that the boys approaching from the opposite direction no longer instinctively focused their gazes on Xiaoxi. In fact, quite a few of them seemed not to notice her at all, completely ignoring the cute red-haired girl and instead glancing back behind them longingly.

Before the curious Zhang Wen could figure out what was happening, he heard a familiar female voice calling out.

“Teacher Zhang!” Jelit, dressed in her complete student council president uniform, appeared from the corner of the campus boulevard and elegantly walked up to Zhang Wen.

Before Zhang Wen and Xiao Xi left the Kemal Arena, the staff had already prepared Xiao Xi’s identity card for the Kemal Arena as instructed by Angelica. The excited red-haired beauty then began chattering incessantly in Zhang Wen’s ear, proudly showing off her new identity card. This continued until they returned to the Almis Academy.

Due to the recent terrorist attack and the mysterious disappearance of Robert and Linoya, the teaching schedule at Almis Academy had been slightly disrupted. Although the survival competition had ended two or three days ago, and most of the participating teams had returned to the academy, the regular classes had not yet resumed.

Zhang Wen, being one of the key witnesses to the Sandra Forest incident, had been staying at the Governor’s Mansion in Temiso for the past few days, assisting Governor Secretary Mishia and the two beautiful deputy officers of the Eagle Guard with their investigation report. This was Zhang Wen’s first time back at Almis Academy since the survival competition began.

“Oh! So this is Almis Academy. It’s completely different from the rural schools back home!” Walking along the wide academy avenue, Xiao Xi’s attention was quickly drawn to the tall buildings on either side and the students in Almis Academy uniforms coming and going.

Similarly, the curious red-haired girl attracted the attention of many passing male students. After all, even in Almis Academy, known for its abundance of beauties, Xiao Xi was a rare sight.

Realizing she had become the center of attention, Xiao Xi was quite pleased. She chuckled to herself, humming a cheerful tune as she walked ahead of Zhang Wen with her head held high.

Zhang Wen didn’t mind Xiao Xi’s childish antics at all. On the contrary, he watched her playful performance with amusement.

However, Xiao Xi’s moment of triumph didn’t last long. As they passed the famous artificial lake within Almis Academy, the tuft of hair on Xiao Xi’s head, which Zhang Wen humorously called her “antenna,” swayed gently as if blown by the wind.

With the movement of her “antenna,” Xiao Xi’s sunny smile turned gloomy. Zhang Wen noticed that the male students passing by no longer seemed to focus on Xiao Xi. Many of them even appeared to ignore her completely, frequently looking back as if reluctant to leave.

Before Zhang Wen could figure out what was happening, he heard a familiar girl’s voice.

“Mr. Zhang!” Garrit, dressed in the full uniform of the student council president, emerged from around the corner of the campus avenue and approached Zhang Wen with grace.

“Hmph!” Xiao Xi let out a snort of both defiance and slight jealousy as she looked at the angelically cute Garrit in her splendid uniform. Garrit, however, completely ignored Xiao Xi, not even glancing at her, and instead gave Zhang Wen a sweet smile.

“Oh! Garrit. Where are you heading?” The intense sparks between the two cute girls greatly satisfied Zhang Wen’s hidden mischievous side. He smiled contentedly as he asked Garrit.

“To the principal’s office. By the way, Principal Jackfleet has been looking for you these past few days. Since we’ve run into each other, let’s go together!” Garrit smiled politely, subtly taking Zhang Wen’s left arm.

“Hey! Flat-chested girl, what do you think you’re doing? Zhang Wen promised to accompany me to the student center for registration!” Afraid that Zhang Wen might be taken away by Garrit, Xiao Xi quickly grabbed his right arm, fearing she might feel weak again.

“Flat… flat-chested…” Xiao Xi had hit a sore spot, and the cute student council president nearly gritted her teeth in anger. However, when it came to verbal sparring, Garrit had never been afraid of anyone. Quickly adjusting her mindset, Garrit launched a counterattack.

“Do you need someone to accompany you to the student center for registration? Are you a child? Oh! I almost forgot! Someone is so clueless that they can’t even find their way around. In the Sandra Forest, I had to help them with directions! But this is Almis Academy. Even if someone can’t find their way, can’t they just ask for directions?”

“You… you… you’re driving me crazy! Do you want to fight?” When it came to verbal sparring, Xiao Xi was no match for Garrit. Under Garrit’s sharp words, Xiao Xi quickly became furious, waving her fists at Garrit in frustration.

Although Garrit was only a seventh-level psychic, and Xiao Xi was a ninth-level martial artist, making her no match for Xiao Xi, the competitive student council president couldn’t afford to lose face.

“Fight? Who’s afraid of whom?” Garrit shouted back without hesitation.

“Ahem!” Just as the two girls were about to come to blows, Zhang Wen, who had been watching the drama unfold, finally stepped in.

“Garrit, as the student council president, is this how you usually communicate with your classmates?” Zhang Wen first smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping over Garrit, who was clenching her fists.

“Ah! I… I’m sorry!” Garrit suddenly realized her mistake and quickly put her fists down. “Um… Mr. Zhang, I know I was wrong. Please don’t tell Principal Jackfleet about this.” As she said the last two sentences, the look of nervousness and shame on Garrit’s angelic face was utterly adorable.

Having dealt with Garrit, Zhang Wen then turned his smiling gaze to Xiao Xi.

“You… what are you doing?” Soon, Xiao Xi began to feel uneasy under Zhang Wen’s gaze.

“I’m considering what to do with you. Your current status is still that of a prisoner involved in the terrorist activities of the Society. I only took you under my supervision because you once worried about me. But the moment I give you a little freedom, you want to pick a fight. If this continues, you’ll probably cause trouble sooner or later. Then, I won’t be able to explain it to Governor Temiso. So, I’m thinking, maybe it’s better to send you back to the governor’s dungeon?” Zhang Wen rested his chin on his hand, pretending to seriously consider the idea.

At the mention of the word “dungeon,” Xiao Xi’s face turned pale.

Before Remiu made the final decision to keep Xiao Xi in Casares, she had spent two whole days in the governor’s dungeon. The “horror” she experienced during those two days was something the poor red-haired girl never wanted to recall!

Because she was too far from Zhang Wen, Xiao Xi had been completely weak in the dungeon, lying helplessly on the damp, cold stone floor. But that wasn’t the worst part. The dungeon, which hadn’t been used for who knows how many years, was filled with all sorts of disgusting bugs!

Every night, these bugs would crawl out from the cracks in the floor, moving around Xiao Xi. Sometimes, they would even crawl onto her body or across her face! And the weak Xiao Xi couldn’t even move to avoid them!

For a girl who feared bugs more than death, there could be no more terrifying punishment. During those two days in the governor’s dungeon, the poor red-haired girl spent most of her time in tears. Every time she heard the bugs crawling nearby, she would cry and swear desperately that she would do anything to leave that place!

Finally, Xiao Xi had her savior and was able to leave that dreadful place. But now, Zhang Wen was talking about sending her back…

“No! No! I’d rather die!” Soon, Xiao Xi was shouting desperately, shaking her head like a rattle drum.

“If you don’t want to go back, then behave from now on! Understand?”

“Yes!” Xiao Xi quickly nodded, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

“Good! The problem is perfectly solved! There’s no conflict that can’t be resolved!” Zhang Wen watched as Garrit and Xiao Xi obediently shook hands, then clapped his hands in satisfaction. “Next, let’s first help Xiao Xi with her enrollment procedures, and then we’ll all go to Principal Jackfleet’s office together.”

“Okay!” The two cute girls nodded in unison and followed Zhang Wen.

“Oh! Jelit, where are you headed?” Zhang Wen, thoroughly enjoying the intense sparks between the two cute girls, asked with a satisfied grin.

“To the principal’s office. By the way, Principal Jackfleet has been looking for you these past two days. Since we’ve met by chance, let’s go together!” Jelit politely smiled and effortlessly linked her arm with Zhang Wen’s left arm.

“Hey! Flat-chested girl, what do you think you’re doing? Zhang Wen promised me he’d help me register at the student center!” Worried that Zhang Wen might be dragged away by Jelit, leaving her to suffer her weakness again, Xiaoxi quickly grabbed onto Zhang Wen’s right arm.

“Flat… flat-chested…” Xiaoxi had clearly struck a nerve, nearly making the adorable student council president gnash her teeth in anger. However, when it came to verbal sparring, Jelit had never been one to back down. Quickly regaining her composure, she launched a counterattack.

“You need someone to accompany you just to register at the student center? Are you a child? Oh, right! I almost forgot! Someone is so clueless that she can’t even tell directions normally. Back in Sandra Forest, she needed me to show her the way! But this is Almace Academy. Even if someone can’t tell directions, surely she isn’t too helpless to ask for help?”

“You… you… you’re making me so mad! Do you want to fight?”

In terms of verbal dueling, Xiaoxi was indeed no match for Jelit. Under Jelit’s sharp verbal assault, Xiaoxi quickly became furious, jumping up and down in anger while swinging her fists at Jelit.

Before Zhang Wen and Xiao Xi left the Kemel Arena, the staff had already prepared Xiao Xi’s identity card for the Kemel Arena as instructed by Angelie. The excited red-haired beauty then began chattering incessantly in Zhang Wen’s ear, proudly showing off her new identity card. This continued until they returned to the Almisus Academy.

Due to the recent terrorist attack and the mysterious disappearance of Robert and Linoya, the teaching schedule at Almisus Academy had been slightly disrupted. Although the survival competition had ended two or three days ago, and most of the participating teams had returned to the academy, the classes had not yet resumed.

Similarly, the curious red-haired girl attracted the attention of many passing male students. After all, even in the famously beautiful Almisus Academy, Xiao Xi was a rare and adorable sight.

Realizing she had become the center of attention, Xiao Xi was quite pleased. She chuckled to herself, humming a cheerful tune, and walked proudly ahead of Zhang Wen.

Zhang Wen didn’t find Xiao Xi’s childish antics annoying at all. On the contrary, he watched her playful performance with amusement.

Before Zhang Wen could figure out what was happening, he heard a familiar girl’s voice.

“Teacher Zhang!” Galit, dressed in the full uniform of the student council president, emerged from around the corner of the campus avenue and approached Zhang Wen with grace.

“Hmph!” Xiao Xi, looking at the angelically cute Galit in her splendid uniform, let out a snort of both defiance and a hint of jealousy. Galit, however, acted as if Xiao Xi didn’t exist, not even glancing at her, and instead smiled sweetly at Zhang Wen.

“Oh! Galit. Where are you heading?” The intense sparks between the two adorable girls greatly satisfied Zhang Wen’s hidden mischievous side. He smiled contentedly and asked Galit.

“To the principal’s office. By the way, Principal Jackfleet has been looking for you these past few days. Since we’ve run into each other, let’s go together!” Galit smiled politely and subtly took Zhang Wen’s left arm.

“Hey! Flat-chested girl, what do you think you’re doing? Zhang Wen promised to accompany me to the student center for registration!” Afraid that Zhang Wen would be taken away by Galit and she would once again feel powerless, Xiao Xi quickly grabbed Zhang Wen’s right arm.

“Flat… flat-chested…” Xiao Xi had hit a sore spot, and the adorable student council president nearly gritted her teeth in anger. However, when it came to verbal sparring, Galit had never been afraid of anyone. Quickly adjusting her mindset, Galit immediately launched a counterattack.

Having dealt with Galit, Zhang Wen then turned his smiling gaze to Xiao Xi.

“You… what are you doing?” Soon, Xiao Xi began to feel uneasy under Zhang Wen’s gaze.

“I’m considering what to do with you. Your current status is still that of a prisoner involved in the terrorist activities of the assembly. I only took you under my custody because you once worried about me. But after just a little indulgence, you’re already trying to pick fights. If this continues, you’ll probably cause trouble sooner or later. Then, I won’t be able to explain it to Governor Temiso. So, I’m thinking, maybe it’s better to send you back to the governor’s dungeon?” Zhang Wen rested his chin on his hand, deliberately pretending to seriously consider the idea.

At the mention of the word “dungeon,” Xiao Xi’s face instantly turned pale.

Before Remiu made the final decision to leave Xiao Xi in Casares, she had spent two full days in the governor’s dungeon. The “horror” she experienced during those two days was something the poor red-haired girl never wanted to recall!

Due to the distance from Zhang Wen, Xiao Xi had been completely powerless in the dungeon, lying weakly on the damp, cold stone floor. But that wasn’t the worst part. The most terrifying thing was that the dungeon, which hadn’t been used for who knows how many years, was infested with all sorts of disgusting bugs!

Every night, these bugs would crawl out from the cracks in the floor, scurrying around Xiao Xi. Sometimes, they would even crawl onto her body or across her face! And the powerless Xiao Xi couldn’t even move to avoid them!

“No! No! I’d rather die!” In no time, Xiao Xi was shouting desperately, shaking her head like a rattle drum.

“If you don’t want to go back, then behave from now on! Understand?”

“Yes!” Xiao Xi nodded hurriedly, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

“Good! The issue is perfectly resolved! There’s no conflict that can’t be resolved!” Zhang Wen watched as Galit and Xiao Xi obediently shook hands, then clapped his hands in satisfaction. “Next, let’s first help Xiao Xi with her enrollment procedures, and then we’ll all go to Principal Jackfleet’s office.”

“Okay!” The two adorable girls nodded in unison and followed Zhang Wen’s lead.

“Fight? Bring it on! Who’s afraid of who?” Jelit shouted back without hesitation.

“Cough! Ahem!” Just as both girls were at each other’s throats and about to start fighting, Zhang Wen, who had been watching the spectacle unfold beside them, finally stepped in.

“Jelit, as the student council president, is this how you usually communicate with your classmates?” Zhang Wen first smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping over Jelit, who was still clenching her fists tightly.

“Oh! I’m sorry… I’m really sorry!” Jelit immediately realized her mistake and hastily retracted her fists. “Um… Teacher Zhang, I know I was wrong. Please don’t tell Principal Jackfleet about this!” As she spoke the last few sentences, the expression of nervousness and shame on Jelit’s angelic face was incredibly adorable.

With one sentence, Zhang Wen had completely defeated Jelit. He then turned his smiling gaze toward Xiaoxi.

“What… what are you looking at me like that for?” Soon, Xiaoxi began to feel uneasy under Zhang Wen’s gaze.

“I’m thinking about what I should do with you. After all, your current status is still that of a prisoner involved in a terrorist group. The only reason I managed to convince Governor Temiso to hand you over to me for supervision was because you once worried about me. However, the moment I let you off the leash a bit, you wanted to start a fight. If this continues, you’ll surely cause trouble sooner or later. Then, I won’t be able to explain it to Governor Temiso. So I’m thinking, maybe it would be better to send you back to the dungeon at the governor’s mansion?” Zhang Wen placed his hand under his chin, deliberately making it seem as if he were seriously considering the idea.

At the mere mention of the word “dungeon” from Zhang Wen, Xiaoxi’s face turned pale in an instant.

Before Reimue made the final decision to leave Xiaoxi in Casares, she had spent two whole days in the dungeon of the governor’s mansion. During those two days, the poor red-haired girl experienced such “horror” that she never wanted to recall it again!

Due to the distance from Zhang Wen, Xiaoxi had been completely powerless in the dungeon, lying weakly on the damp and dark stone floor. But that alone would have been bearable. The real issue was that the dungeon, which hadn’t been used in who knows how many years, was filled with all sorts of disgusting insects!

Every night, those insects would crawl out from the cracks in the floor, slithering around Xiaoxi. Sometimes, they would even climb onto her body or pass by her cheeks! And the powerless Xiaoxi couldn’t even dodge them!

For a girl who feared crawling bugs more than death itself, there could hardly be a more terrifying punishment in the world. During those two days in the governor’s dungeon, the poor red-haired girl had practically spent her time crying her eyes out. Every time she heard the sound of insects crawling past her, Xiaoxi would cry loudly and desperately vow that she would do anything if only she could leave this place!

Finally, Xiaoxi had been rescued by her savior and managed to leave that dreadful place. But now, Zhang Wen was threatening to send her back…

“No! No! I’d rather die than go back!” Soon enough, Xiaoxi was shouting frantically, shaking her head like a rattling drum.

“If you don’t want to go back, then behave yourself and listen from now on! Got it?”
