Xiao Yufan didn’t know how long he had been lost in wild excitement before finally staggering out with a slightly swaying posture. He pushed aside the strange heartache Cheng Ying had brought him. At least for today, he was still happy…
It was already one o’clock in the morning, yet no one had left. Xiao Yufan felt deeply moved. This was the only thing he needed to protect in Beijing—priceless friendships.
There weren’t many pedestrians on the road. The noisy city rarely had moments of tranquility. Xiao Yufan quietly walked ahead, as if lost in thought.
“These two beauties are great! Want to have some fun with me tonight, huh?” Just as Xiao Yufan snapped out of his thoughts, two lewd voices reached his ears. Turning around, he saw a few hooligans blocking the path of Yu Yihan and Hu Yingluo.
“Get lost…” Two icy voices replied simultaneously, with no hesitation, almost in disdain. Xiao Yufan was stunned. These punks were just too ridiculous—did they really think they could mess with these two women?
“Hehe, feisty! I like it!” One of the punks with yellow hair looked at Hu Yingluo’s tight, delicate figure and swallowed hard, clearly imagining something dirty.
“Bro, since you like her, take her home as your big sister! Hahaha…” The other punks around the yellow-haired guy started cheering. To them, shamelessness was the ultimate weapon, played out vividly.
“What do you think, beauty? My brothers have spoken, you can’t just ignore us, right?” The yellow-haired punk struck a pose he thought was cool, shaking his messy curls. In Xiao Yufan’s eyes, he looked like he was begging for a beating.
“Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear us say ‘get lost’?” Hu Yingluo’s gaze turned colder. When had she ever been treated this way? If it weren’t for the large number of punks, she would have already taken action.
The yellow-haired punk didn’t seem angry at Hu Yingluo’s sharp reply, but his gaze became even more predatory. In his mind, with so many people on his side, Xiao Yufan and the others wouldn’t dare do anything. What he didn’t know was that their actions had already enraged Xiao Yufan completely.
“I’ll give you three minutes to leave, or you’ll have to take the consequences,” Xiao Yufan finally spoke. He really didn’t feel like hitting such lowlifes, not wanting to get into trouble with the law again. But if they insisted on being ignorant, he couldn’t be blamed for what happened next.
“Who the hell are you? No one dares to kick me off this street!” The yellow-haired punk, not yet angry at Hu Yingluo, now turned his fury toward Xiao Yufan.
“So?” The atmosphere grew tense as the punks moved closer, but was Xiao Yufan afraid?
Hardly. He had been fighting since childhood. The martial arts he learned from his master, like Tai Chi, were not for show. These few punks wouldn’t be hard to deal with.
“Fuck… trying to act cool? Guys, beat him up!” The punks were truly reckless. After the yellow-haired guy shouted, the others rushed forward.
Fan Le and Ma Teng saw the situation turning bad and immediately joined in. Much to Xiao Yufan’s frustration, Fan Le looked like he was actually enjoying himself—apparently addicted to fighting.
Yu Yihan and Hu Yingluo looked worried, after all, this trouble was partly their fault. But Mu Qing remained calm. She wasn’t worried about Ma Teng and the others, but rather feared they might seriously hurt the punks.
…
Soon, the “battle” was over. Four of the six punks were lying on the ground, while the other two barely managed to stand.
Xiao Yufan was almost unscathed. Ma Teng and Fan Le had slight swelling around their mouths, but nothing serious. After walking out of the KTV and stretching his body, Xiao Yufan felt refreshed.
“As the saying goes, don’t act tough, or you’ll get struck by lightning,” he yawned, shaking his now-torn leather jacket as he walked past the yellow-haired punk. This guy really deserved what he got.
Yu Yihan and the others followed closely behind. As Hu Yingluo passed the punk, she couldn’t resist giving him a disdainful snort. Daring to set his eyes on her—what a fool.
“You must have trained before, right? Don’t tell me you’re some hidden master…” Hu Yingluo, who hadn’t spoken much on the way, quickened her pace and approached Xiao Yufan.
“I’m just a bit better at fighting than these punks. Our big beauty surely isn’t falling for the hero-saving-the-beauty act, right? I don’t believe such clichéd stories would happen to me…”
“Pfft, as if I’d fall for you! I’m just curious. Though thinking about it, you’re not much different from those thugs…” Hu Yingluo teased, her pretty face blushing slightly. Compared to her earlier fierce demeanor facing the punks, she was like a completely different person now.
“I…”
Ten thousand curses raced through Xiao Yufan’s mind. Why did Hu Yingluo always see him as just another thug? At least he was a cultured one!
