Chapter 1353: “Calamity Beckoning”

The two of them looked curiously at Chu Tianqiu and Tianlong on the steps above, clearly wanting to lend a hand.

After exchanging glances, they slowly climbed the steps and observed Tianlong and Chu Tianqiu, who were deep in slumber with their eyes closed.

The two men’s expressions were calm, giving no hint of what they were doing.

Before long, Qiao Jiajin couldn’t hold back and asked:

“Is this situation supposed to be happening?”

“I don’t know… but can we even talk right now?”

In an instant, they seemed to realize something and quickly covered their mouths, retreating from the steps.

If they spoke carelessly now and Tianlong, who was dreaming, heard them—what then?

Though they didn’t fully understand “dreamwalking,” they had all experienced dreams before. They knew that real-world events and sounds could, to some extent, influence the content of a dream.

Qiao Jiajin and Zhang Shan were completely lost.

The room was entirely sealed off—where could they go? What were they supposed to do next?

“Cough…” Qinglong spat out another mouthful of blood, startling the two of them.

“Oh no…” Zhang Shan hurried to Qinglong’s side, picking up Qiao Jiajin’s clothes from the ground and rolling them into a makeshift pillow to prop up Qinglong’s head. “This guy can’t die yet…”

“Eh?” Qiao Jiajin also rushed over. “Are you actually trying to save Little Green?”

“No… but if he dies, Tianlong dies too.” Zhang Shan frowned. “I have a feeling we can’t let him die right now… at least not until Chu Tianqiu finishes whatever he’s doing.”

The two could only sense Qinglong’s breathing growing increasingly labored, his life hanging by a thread. Whatever Chu Tianqiu was attempting, they could only hope he hurried.

“Ah… sorry, Little Green…” Qiao Jiajin muttered. “Even I wouldn’t be able to take that flying knee. Tough luck for you.”

“Damn, kid, can you even handle any of your own moves?”

“Pretty much.”

As they hesitated, the “door” of the room suddenly began to shift. It twisted before their eyes, and the shattered cracks were swiftly repaired.

Stunned, Qiao Jiajin cautiously stepped forward and pulled the door open, revealing a “corridor” outside.

However, it didn’t look the same as before—the doors on either side were broken and dilapidated, and the floor was nowhere near as neat as the “front car.”

“What’s going on now?” Qiao Jiajin whispered, glancing left and right down the corridor. “This looks familiar… like when we first stepped out of the ‘interview room’…”

“I don’t know…” Zhang Shan scratched his head. “It’s like the corridor’s come to life.”

Just as they were observing, they suddenly spotted a figure emerging from one of the doors in the distance. The person stepped onto the corridor and was about to flash away when Zhang Shan recognized him.

“Jin Yuanxun?”

“Huh? Brother!” Jin Yuanxun quickly steadied himself and turned around, looking puzzled. “Brother? What are you doing here? Isn’t this the exit of the ‘rear car’?”

“R-Rear car?” The two were baffled by his words.

Jin Yuanxun didn’t have time to explain and asked, “Is Brother Chu here too?”

“Shh!” Zhang Shan raised a finger. “He’s ‘dreamwalking’ right now, so don’t—”

Before he could finish, Qiao Jiajin suddenly sensed danger. He grabbed Jin Yuanxun and yanked him violently into the room. The next second, the entire corridor began collapsing on a massive scale, countless people vanishing into the void.

The entire “train” seemed to convulse violently, as if reacting to some unseen stimulus.

Everyone could feel that something was terribly wrong.

This tremor was far more violent than the previous “Heavenly Moment.”

“What the hell…” Chen Junnan gripped the doorframe, watching as the corridor outside shattered piece by piece. “What the actual fuck is happening?!”

Outside, countless people who hadn’t made it into rooms in time plummeted into the abyss.

He realized that even without the corridor, the rooms were still somehow visible to each other, as if they had always been unnaturally close in the void.

At the critical moment, Zheng Yingxiong dashed toward the doorway. Leaping across fractured floorboards, he lunged for the room.

Chen Junnan moved swiftly, grabbing him just before he could fall into the abyss and pulling him inside. The two tumbled to the ground together.

“Whoa, shit!” Chen Junnan gasped. “Kid, you’ve got some damn nerve…”

“Chen Junnan!” Zheng Yingxiong yelled. “Be careful! Everything outside is collapsing!”

“Thanks for the heads-up, genius! I can fucking see that!”

Inside the room, Qin Dingdong also stumbled from the violent shaking, feeling as if the entire “train” was being rocked by a massive earthquake.

But why would a perfectly intact “train” suddenly experience an earthquake?

Had this supposedly failed “rebellion” not actually ended…?

“This is bad, Jin! Jin, go help—go save—” Chen Junnan turned around, only to find Qin Dingdong standing and four people lying on the ground. “The hell? Where’s Jin?”

He shot a confused look at Qin Dingdong.

“Why’re you looking at me? You think I could’ve stopped that lightning-fast kid?” Qin Dingdong retorted.

“Damn… that kid’s like Nezha, riding fucking wind and fire wheels.” Chen Junnan pointed at Zheng Yingxiong. “Never mind, Sis. Let’s just focus on keeping these four from getting thrown out—”

Mid-sentence, he froze.

Wait—since when were there four people?

Yan Zhichun, Jiang Ruoxue, Lin Qin… and who the hell was the fourth?

“Jin didn’t just drop dead here, did he?!” Amid the violent tremors, Chen Junnan and Zheng Yingxiong rushed to the group—only to find Zhang Lijuan lying there peacefully.

“Sis!” Zheng Yingxiong sighed in relief. “I followed her scent. Glad she’s okay.”

“Uh…”

Chen Junnan felt like he was losing his mind.

“Hold on, Sis… have there always been four people sleeping in here?”

“Uh…” Qin Dingdong also realized something was off. “Seems like there’s an extra one.”

“Whatever, forget it!” Chen Junnan immediately blocked the doorway. “Sis, help me! If these four get tossed out, we’re screwed!”

Qin Dingdong nodded and rushed to assist, bracing the door with him.

At that moment, Zheng Yingxiong caught a terrifying scent. He jerked his head up toward the door.

The overwhelming stench was unmistakable—it was “Calamity.”

……

Han Yimo was jolted awake by the violent tremors.

He opened his eyes, his entire body aching.

This was beyond bizarre—he hadn’t fought a single battle today, so why did he hurt so much?

“This doesn’t fit the protagonist’s script at all… where’s my grand finale…?”

Dazed, he stared at the ceiling and smacked his lips.

At least he’d slept well, even if he hadn’t fought.

A few seconds later, Han Yimo snapped awake.

Something wasn’t right.

He remembered being in some Earth Dog’s room. The “Extremists” had brought him there after he was severely injured, but they’d abandoned him midway to carry out some other mission.

So what was happening now?

An earthquake?

And why was the room so dark?

Who the hell turned off the lights?

“Wait… earthquake…” Han Yimo’s voice trembled in horror. “Earthquakes only happen in the real world… this isn’t the ‘other world’ at all!”

He struggled to get up, but his injuries were too severe—he couldn’t move.

“It’s over… it’s over… everything’s going to shatter… everything here will shatter!!”
