Han Li’s gaze shifted, landing on the face of the towering refined corpse before turning to the figure clad in Wan Tianming’s attire. He let out a long sigh.
This person and the corpse, aside from slight differences in stature, bore identical faces!
“Should I address you as Sect Leader Wan, or should I call you the Six Paths Demon Saint?” Han Li’s eyes flickered as his expression grew solemn.
“So, you’ve guessed who I am?” “Wan Tianming” snorted coldly, his body shifting slightly as the six demonic phantoms behind him trembled in response.
“From what I know, the only one in the Chaotic Star Seas who has mastered the Six Extreme True Devil Art—the foremost demonic technique—and cultivated it to such a level is the legendary Six Paths Daoist. It seems you miraculously survived back then. However, I am puzzled—did you seize Wan Tianming’s body, or did you simply disguise yourself as him? And this refined corpse that resembles you so closely—who is it? A clone you cultivated? Or did you refine your own body into a demonic corpse?” Han Li asked slowly, his expression returning to normal.
“Heh, why should a dead man need to know such details?” The Six Paths Demon Saint chuckled darkly. Suddenly, his shoulders twitched, and two of the six phantoms behind him shot forth, merging into the two refined corpses before him.
The male and female corpses shuddered abruptly, their eyes snapping open in a dull, lifeless manner, glowing with an eerie emerald light.
But that wasn’t all. From the Six Paths Demon Saint’s mouth came an arcane and cryptic chant. The two previously withered demonic corpses began emitting a grayish-white demonic aura, enveloping them entirely.
A piercing screech erupted from the corpses as their bodies rapidly expanded.
In the blink of an eye, amidst agonized groans, they transformed into two towering demonic beings, each standing four to five zhang tall.
One of them was covered in coin-sized black scales, gleaming darkly, with a pair of antelope-like horns atop its head and a long green tail swaying behind it. The other was covered in blood-red, sinister bone spikes, its hands and feet gleaming silver as if forged from pure metal. Its triangular head bore four narrow, emerald-green eyes, sending chills down the spine of anyone who saw it.
The transformed appearances of these two refined corpses were identical to the two demonic phantoms that had entered them. Yet, the once-intangible illusions had now become true demonic entities, a sight that left one utterly stunned.
After his initial shock, Han Li’s heart grew cold.
“Heh, when the Six Extreme True Devil Art is cultivated to its peak, one can summon the true essence of a Sacred Demon to possess the body. In terms of cultivation and supernatural abilities, it can rival a Deity Transformation cultivator. However, since ancient times, no one in the human realm has ever truly reached such a supreme level. Even so, the two demons I’ve summoned now possess the abilities of late-Nascent Soul cultivators. With three against one, do you still believe you can survive, Fellow Daoist Han?” The Six Paths Demon Saint laughed maniacally. With a flick of his divine sense, the two demonic beings hovering motionlessly before him suddenly vanished from their spots.
In the next instant, spatial fluctuations appeared on either side of Han Li, mere zhang away. The two demonic creatures emerged eerily from the void. The horned demon lashed out with its serpentine tail, sending a streak of green light streaking toward Han Li’s chest like lightning. Meanwhile, the spiked demon crouched, its body trembling as the air around it erupted with the sound of rending space.
Countless blood-red bone spikes, each a foot long, shot forth like a storm of arrows, enveloping Han Li completely. At such close range and with such ferocious speed, evasion was impossible.
It seemed the Six Paths Demon Saint shared Han Li’s intent—to kill his opponent in a single strike.
A trace of smugness appeared on his face, confident that even if Han Li miraculously survived this flawless coordinated assault, he would not emerge unscathed.
Yet, in the next moment, the old demon’s expression froze.
Just as the green light was about to pierce Han Li’s chest and the blood-red spikes were poised to turn his body into a sieve, the cyan-white wings on Han Li’s back fluttered slightly, stirring a fierce gale.
Han Li’s figure vanished like the wind.
With no target, the green light and blood spikes struck empty air.
The Six Paths Demon Saint’s heart clenched in alarm. His eyes gleamed as he frantically scanned his surroundings.
But before he could fully extend his divine sense to cover the area, a flash of cyan lightning appeared above the horned demon’s head, and a figure materialized out of thin air.
It was Han Li, having teleported there in an instant.
Without a word, he raised his hand, summoning a cyan wooden ruler. With a gentle wave downward, a silver lotus, about a foot in diameter, bloomed beneath the demon’s feet.
The lotus spun rapidly, and seven-colored Buddhist light surged from its center. The horned demon felt its body tighten, completely immobilized, while the demonic energy within it instantly solidified.
At the same time, Han Li raised his other hand, summoning a three-colored flame. Though he had yet to act, a terrifying spiritual pressure emanated from it.
The other demon finally noticed Han Li’s presence. Without any visible movement, it let out a long screech, and the blood-red spikes in the air swirled before hurtling toward Han Li once more—this time even faster than before.
Almost instantly, the countless spikes were upon Han Li, mere inches away.
Yet Han Li showed no panic. He merely glanced at the spikes with indifference.
A silver shield materialized out of nowhere, expanding into a thick silver barrier that shielded him completely.
The blood spikes slammed into the barrier, exploding into fist-sized bursts of crimson light. A cacophony of impacts rang out like rain on banana leaves. The barrier rippled violently before beginning to falter.
The power of these blood spikes far exceeded expectations—each strike was akin to a top-tier magic treasure.
The Yuan Shield couldn’t repel them.
Han Li’s expression darkened as he muttered an incantation.
A thumb-sized golden orb emerged between his brows, instantly transforming into a golden halo.
This was the Vajra Shield he had been nurturing within his body. After years of refinement, its defensive power far surpassed that of the Yuan Shield.
As the silver barrier finally collapsed, the remaining spikes struck the golden shield, producing metallic screeches.
Golden light flickered across the shield’s surface, stubbornly blocking every spike.
Meanwhile, a phoenix’s cry rang out from the three-colored flame in Han Li’s hand. A firebird adorned with three-colored runes burst forth, spreading its wings and diving toward the immobilized horned demon below.
Though unable to move, the demon’s face twisted with savagery as it opened its mouth, spewing a white wave upward to meet the firebird.
A deafening explosion erupted as the white wave clashed with the three-colored flames.
Though this sonic wave was an innate ability of the demon, its power was greatly diminished without the support of demonic energy. It stood no chance against the might of the Three Flames Fan.
After a brief struggle, the firebird exploded.
A three-colored halo emerged, rolling outward and devouring the white wave in an instant.
The halo expanded rapidly, engulfing the area below in a ten-zhang radius. In a flash, the demon possessing the refined corpse was utterly annihilated.
All of this seemed slow, but in reality, it took only a few breaths. Seeing this from afar, the Six Paths Demon Saint’s face twisted in shock.
He had never imagined that his twin demons would not only fail to kill Han Li but that one would be obliterated so effortlessly.
Now, the old demon finally realized that his opponent was no ordinary Great Cultivator.
Furious and alarmed, he wasted no time. With a thought, he spat out a streak of black light, which transformed into a wisp of black mist and vanished into the void.
Meanwhile, the spiky demon let out a low growl, its four demonic eyes flashing as its figure blurred, disappearing from sight.
In the next moment, spatial fluctuations rippled behind Han Li as two silver arms reached out from the void.
With a crack, the arms elongated, one forming a claw that slashed at Han Li’s skull while the other, a massive silver fist, struck at his back.
At the same time, a black octagonal hammer, the size of a human head, materialized several zhang above Han Li, descending with a sinister black aura.
Judging by the terrifying demonic energy it emitted, this was a rare demonic artifact in the human realm!
Still not done, the old demon twitched his shoulders, and the remaining four demonic phantoms behind him opened their eyes, transforming into four streaks of black light that shot toward Han Li.
In an instant, Han Li—who had just slain one demon—found himself besieged by the old demon and the remaining demonic creature.
Han Li sighed softly.
Without any visible spellcasting, a cyan glow enveloped him. A faint silver silhouette appeared behind him, its silver fists striking out.
Two thunderous booms echoed as silver light flashed. The cyan figure remained unmoved, while the demon that had emerged from the void was sent staggering back.
Simultaneously, a small cyan cauldron materialized above Han Li’s head, spinning rapidly. Its lid opened, releasing a burst of cyan threads that intercepted the descending black hammer, halting it mid-air.
