Chapter 1493: The Qiankun Banner and the Minglei Beast

Six Legs looked at Han Li’s current state with a satisfied expression.

“This eyeball of the Ferocious Beast Cilie is a treasure I obtained in the past. Unfortunately, it conflicts greatly with my own cultivation techniques and cannot be assimilated into my body. I could only refine it into a soul-seizing artifact,” Six Legs said with a hint of regret.

“Brother Six Legs! This kid’s cultivation isn’t high, but his abilities are quite peculiar. Are you absolutely sure you’ve subdued him? Fellow Daoist Mu and I reluctantly gave up the treasures in the Demon Tomb—we don’t want any more mishaps,” the white-haired beauty asked, her face betraying a trace of resentment.

“Rest assured, Fellow Daoist Lan. The Cilie Beast is a being comparable to a True Dragon, a genuine spirit. The soul-suppressing artifact refined from its Rupture Law Eye can subdue even beings like us, let alone a mere Deity Transformation-level cultivator. If you doubt it, you can personally test its power,” Six Legs replied with unwavering confidence.

“If you say so, we naturally believe you. But I still find it a pity. For the treasures in the Demon Tomb, Sister Lan and I made extensive preparations. Now, all that effort is wasted,” Mu Qing sighed with a bitter smile.

“The so-called Demon Tomb is merely the burial site of a few outer-space demons who accidentally broke into the Netherworld River and were slain by the Ephemera Clan elders of that time. These outer-space demons indeed possessed some extraordinary abilities, but the treasures you speak of are merely certain parts of their corpses that have gained sentience after being nourished by yin energy for so many years. While these treasures have their uses, how can they compare to the Divine Milk? Don’t forget—consuming the Divine Milk and applying it all over the body can instantly transform one’s physique into a spirit-attuned body, amplifying the control of heaven and earth’s spiritual energy several times over. With this, ascending to the True Immortal Realm is no longer a dream,” Six Legs said, his compound eyes flickering.

“I understand all this without you needing to explain, Brother. But one of the treasures in the Demon Tomb is extremely important to me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to recruit Han Li,” Mu Qing said helplessly.

“No matter how important that treasure is to you, if we want to retrieve the Divine Milk before the Ephemera Clan reinforcements arrive, we must use special methods to quickly break the restrictions and lure away the Nether Lightning Beast. Unless you’d rather give up the Divine Milk for the Demon Tomb treasure?” Six Legs said coldly.

“Of course I won’t abandon the Divine Milk! Between the two, I must choose the lesser loss,” Mu Qing finally resolved.

“Good. Besides, if I send Han Li to lure the Nether Lightning Beast, he might not necessarily die. If he survives by sheer luck, you can still retrieve the Demon Tomb treasure later,” a blood-robed man chuckled.

“Hmph, the Nether Lightning Beast is ferocious beyond measure. If he can escape its jaws, he truly has great fortune. But Old Freak Earthblood, we only agreed to restrain Han Li—why did you also subdue the two girls under Fellow Daoist Lan’s command?” Mu Qing snorted, glancing coldly at Yuan Yao and Yan Li, who stood expressionless beside the blood-robed man.

“Don’t be surprised, Sister Mu. I secretly instructed Fellow Daoist Earthblood to capture those two girls. Since that kid is useless now, letting them roam freely would only invite trouble. Their pure yin energy happens to be useful for refining the Divine Milk,” the white-haired beauty said indifferently.

Hearing this, Mu Qing fell silent.

“Now that everyone is subdued, let’s proceed as planned. First, we’ll work together to break the restrictions, then control Han Li to release the Evil-Warding Divine Lightning and lure the Nether Lightning Beast away from the Divine Pool. That way, we can safely obtain the Divine Milk,” Six Legs declared.

“The Nether Lightning Beast is no ordinary creature. Can the Evil-Warding Divine Lightning really lure it away? We don’t want to lose more than we gain!” the white-haired beauty asked cautiously.

“The Nether Lightning Beast thrives on devouring lightning. The Evil-Warding Divine Lightning is one of the Five Great Divine Lightnings of the Spirit Realm—how could it resist?” Six Legs affirmed.

“If Brother Six Legs says so, I’m reassured,” the beauty nodded, somewhat relieved.

“Fellow Daoist Earthblood, we’ll rely on your Purple Blood Puppets to break the final Heavenly Barrier,” Six Legs turned to the two blood-robed men.

“The reason we refined the Purple Blood Puppets was precisely for this day!” one of them chuckled darkly.

Six Legs nodded in approval.

After discussing the details for another half-hour to ensure no oversights, they led Jin Ling and the remaining high-level demons toward the gray mountain range.

Han Li and the two women followed automatically without any further manipulation.

A distance of a hundred miles was nothing to these demon kings, and they arrived in an instant. Upon entering the mountains, Six Legs and the others grew solemn, constantly scanning their surroundings with extreme caution.

Surprisingly, the journey was smooth—no powerful ghosts or even a single wraith crossed their path.

An hour later, they had traversed a portion of the gray mountains, and a vast basin came into view.

The basin stretched dozens of miles wide, surrounded by undulating gray hills. At its center lay a pitch-black barrier, utterly opaque.

Stopping before the barrier, Six Legs and the others examined it carefully.

“Fortunately, we wiped out most of the ghosts here last time. Otherwise, we’d have had a much harder time now,” Mu Qing murmured.

“But last time, we didn’t expect a Nether Lightning Beast hidden within the restrictions, which caught Fellow Daoist Zhu off guard and cost him his life. A mature Nether Lightning Beast is truly not something to confront head-on,” one blood-robed man exhaled.

“Let’s begin. We’ll weaken the barrier slightly to lure out the beast. Then, it’ll be up to Fellow Daoist Mu Qing’s Heaven-Scattering Leaf Concealment Formation to hide us,” Six Legs said gravely.

“As long as we don’t attack, the Nether Lightning Beast won’t detect us under my formation. But maintaining it drains my energy and spiritual sense—I can’t hold it for long. That kid must lure the beast away quickly, preferably far away,” Mu Qing cautioned.

“I understand. I’ll lend him one of my flying treasures. Fellow Daoist Earthblood, you’ll enhance him with a few of your talismans. Fellow Daoist Lan, give him your Heaven-Earth Banner,” Six Legs said confidently.

At the mention of the Heaven-Earth Banner, the white-haired beauty hesitated.

“Must we really give it to him? Though not a Heavenly Spiritual Treasure, its defensive properties surpass even some of them. What if something goes wrong…?” she wavered.

“You know full well that the longer Han Li distracts the beast, the safer we’ll be. You can reclaim the banner afterward. Among the three of us, only your treasure requires minimal energy and incantations to activate,” Six Legs frowned.

“Fine, let the kid have it!” After a long pause, the beauty reluctantly clapped her hands, summoning a silver-white banner adorned with shimmering runes.

With a flick of her finger, the banner shot toward Han Li.

Six Legs smirked as the eyeball on Han Li’s forehead flashed. Han Li mechanically caught the banner with a gray mist and stored it in his sleeve, remaining expressionless.

A blood-robed man appeared behind him and slapped over a dozen talismans onto his body, causing his aura to surge.

Meanwhile, Mu Qing floated to a secluded spot, her shoes burning away as her feet transformed into roots that burrowed deep into the ground.

Flowers and trees sprouted instantly within a black formation, concealing her and the verdant oasis from sight.

The group was now ready for their perilous heist.
