Chapter 1703: Breaking the Restriction

Seeing that Han Li and Shi Kun had nothing further to say, Liu Shui’er patted her storage bracelet with one hand, causing a flash of five-colored light as an exceptionally vibrant small umbrella appeared in her palm.

The umbrella was no more than half a foot long, dazzlingly colorful and eye-catching.

Shi Kun seemed to recognize this treasure, his expression shifting slightly.

Liu Shui’er solemnly tossed the umbrella into the air, where it transformed into a streak of five-colored spiritual light that shot high into the sky. After a few flickers, it vanished without a trace.

Moments later, a five-colored radiance scattered down from the void, enveloping an area of over ten miles. Within the glow, faintly discernible runes of varying sizes flickered before dispersing with a few violent flashes. The entire radiance then grew transparent and indistinct, ultimately vanishing completely.

Han Li narrowed his eyes and swept his spiritual sense outward, only to find it rebounded by an invisible force the moment it reached the boundary where the radiance had disappeared.

This entire space had been sealed off by the restriction formed from the five-colored umbrella.

Yet Liu Shui’er was not done. With a flash of light from her body, over a dozen golden formation flags flew out.

Each flag was exquisitely crafted, densely inscribed with formation runes. After swirling in the air, they transformed into golden streaks and vanished into the surrounding void.

Instantly, over a dozen golden pillars of light shot into the sky before disappearing again. A new, faint and barely perceptible fluctuation emerged.

Seeing this, Liu Shui’er relaxed slightly and explained with a smile, “This Skyward Umbrella is one of my master’s proudest treasures, capable of concealing the spiritual pressure fluctuations when we break the restrictions. The Golden Capital Spirit-Sealing Formation, composed of these flags, is a purely defensive array my master specially refined for this journey. Even an early-stage Saint-tier existence would take some time to breach it.”

“Excellent! Since Fairy Liu has taken such measures, I shall also set up a few things,” Shi Kun said with a low chuckle, his eyes glinting.

He then opened his mouth and spat out over a dozen gray orbs, each containing a gray ring—thirteen in total. The rings buzzed around him before vanishing just as strangely.

“Yin Soul Mother-Child Rings! Senior Duan actually entrusted these treasures to Brother Shi?” Liu Shui’er recognized them instantly, her pupils contracting.

“These rings have no other function but to specifically damage souls and primordial spirits. Even a Saint-tier being caught off guard could be severely injured. They serve as a perfect supplement to the restrictions you’ve set,” Shi Kun replied calmly.

“Very well. With these measures, even if the Horned Race comes to disrupt us, we should be able to hold them off for a while,” Liu Shui’er said after a brief silence, her tone steady.

A thoughtful glint flashed in Han Li’s eyes before he stroked his chin and said indifferently, “Since both of you have prepared your contingencies, let’s begin breaking the restrictions immediately. For some reason, I feel the sooner we act, the better—lest long nights breed strange dreams.”

“Ha, Brother Han speaks wisely. Fairy Liu, let’s begin,” Shi Kun chuckled in agreement.

“Since both of you are ready, I naturally have no objections,” Liu Shui’er said with a light laugh.

She then flicked her hand, producing a small gray banner between her fingers. The banner’s surface was murky, faintly shimmering with Magnetic Divine Light.

The cloaked woman tossed the banner before her, formed a hand seal, and began chanting.

With a *boom*, a gray light wheel emerged behind her, its central rune rotating slightly as the radiance churned.

The small gray banner trembled in response, emitting a low hum.

Seeing Liu Shui’er activating the Magnetic Divine Light, Han Li and Shi Kun exchanged a glance before also beginning their incantations.

Shi Kun’s body erupted with gray light as a token-like treasure flew from his sleeve. The token was dull gray, inscribed with the ancient characters “Yuan” and “Guang” on its front and back.

The token expanded rapidly, growing to a height of ten feet.

Without hesitation, Shi Kun pressed his five fingers against its back. As spiritual light flashed from his fingertips, the token erupted with gray radiance, its two characters blazing brightly.

Meanwhile, gray light surged violently around his body, the Magnetic Divine Light’s power awe-inspiring.

Han Li, too, extended his ink-black palm from his sleeve, his fingers slightly curling as a miniature mountain—now refined into the Magnetic Extreme Mountain—appeared in his palm.

With almost no need for incantation, the mountain flew out, instantly enlarging to over thirty feet. Silver runes lit up on its surface as layers of gray light waves rippled forth.

Almost simultaneously, the gray light wheel behind Liu Shui’er trembled, shooting a beam of gray light that struck the nearby banner.

The small gray banner shuddered, its surface unfurling to reveal densely packed runes as an even thicker beam of light erupted from it.

Before Shi Kun, the massive token’s light swirled as countless gray threads shot from one side.

Han Li, expressionless, channeled his magic, pointing at the black mountain. The Magnetic Extreme Mountain spun rapidly, releasing rolling waves of gray light from its base.

The three Magnetic Forces merged instantly below, forming a colossal rune over thirty feet in diameter!

Under Liu Shui’er’s guidance, the giant rune churned with gray radiance, vanishing into the white mist below with a single flash.

A low rumble echoed as the white mist and cyan light intertwined. The seemingly slow-moving mist tore apart like fragile paper, dissolving into specks of spiritual light.

Yet beneath the mist, another layer of pale cyan light emerged. The giant rune plunged without hesitation, crashing into the cyan barrier.

This time, however, the contact was silent—the cyan light vanished in a flash, as if swallowed whole.

The rune descended further, only to encounter countless crisscrossing crimson threads, forming a massive spiderweb-like barrier.

Before the rune even touched this restriction, the web flared red, spewing rolling crimson clouds upward to meet it.

Unlike before, a series of thunderous explosions erupted.

The giant rune’s gray light blazed as the crimson clouds boiled violently, ultimately being swept away. The crimson threads beneath dissolved like snow in spring under the gray light’s touch.

The rune’s glow dimmed slightly as it continued its descent toward the fourth restriction.

The ease with which the first few restrictions were broken surprised even Han Li.

The Azure Light of Supreme Yang, which the trio had feared most, was suppressed by the Magnetic Divine Light from the start, never directly opposing the rune’s assault. This was the key to breaking the early restrictions so effortlessly.

In the blink of an eye, the giant rune shattered nine layers of vastly different restrictions under Han Li’s watch.

But now, its power was nearly exhausted. With a mournful hum, countless cracks spread across its surface, threatening to collapse entirely.

“Fellow Daoists, why wait? Prepare the final strike!” Liu Shui’er suddenly shouted.

The gray light wheel behind her shot out, merging into the crumbling rune as a thick beam.

Miraculously, the cracks sealed instantly, and the rune blazed anew, surging downward with renewed vigor.

Han Li and Shi Kun acted in tandem—one sent the massive token hurtling down like a bolt, while the other pressed the black mountain downward with a finger.

The two transformed into enormous gray orbs, streaking down like twin meteors.

The tenth restriction was a curtain of deep yellow sand.

The moment the gray rune touched it, it halted abruptly. Through Han Li’s spiritual sight, the previously suppressed Azure Light of Supreme Yang reappeared densely around it.

With the Magnetic Force weakened, the Azure Light finally reasserted its power, slicing through the rune. With a muffled explosion, the giant rune shattered into fragments.

The gray radiance surged violently, dispersing most of the Azure Light’s translucent manifestations.

At that moment, the gray orbs—transformed from the token and the mountain—crashed down with overwhelming force.

Two thunderous booms later, the remnants of the Azure Light attempted feeble resistance but were utterly crushed. The orbs struck the sand barrier directly.

The yellow grains trembled before each swelled to fist-sized, swarming the two treasures in an attempt to crush them.

These grains were clearly extraordinary—ordinary treasures would have shattered instantly under such force.

But both the Magnetic Extreme Mountain and the gray token were supreme treasures infused with Magnetic Force. Though their radiance dimmed under the pressure, their glow intensified.

Despite the sand’s miraculous properties, it could not advance an inch into the gray light, as if weighed down by a thousand pounds.

Then, the silver runes on the mountain and the ancient characters on the token flashed violently, unleashing their true power.
