Chapter 1909: Descendants of the Sage Ancestor

“Fellow Daoist, are you truly planning to release it? Back then, even with the four of us joining forces, we could only seal it within the Nine Yang Sun Suppression Array when it was at its weakest. Although we kept it as a last resort in case the array was breached, actually unleashing this monster might result in it attacking us first. After all, it still possesses some intelligence.” The Venerable Azure Dragon remained deeply concerned.

“On this matter, Venerable need not worry excessively. The Blood Soul Talisman is nearly complete and is undergoing its final infusion of spiritual energy. I’ve consulted several of our sect’s sealing masters who specialize in this matter. While the talisman hasn’t yet achieved its full intended effect, it has reached nearly half of its designed potency. Once implanted in the monster, even if we can’t fully control its mind, we should at least be able to prevent it from attacking us. The pressing issue now is whether we can endure these two months of buffer time. After all, while sealing the beast within the Nine Yang Sun Suppression Array is extremely secure, we cannot release it until the array naturally deactivates. Moreover, as we both know, if those Demon Venerables weren’t concerned about excessive losses among their subordinates and launched a full-scale assault, even with the Nine Yang Sun Suppression Array, we wouldn’t be able to hold off the demonic forces.” Fairy Lin Luan’s eyes flickered with an unusual light as she spoke.

“The Blood Soul Talisman is ready? That’s excellent news. With Fairy Silverlight and Fellow Daoist Han’s assistance, we should be able to barely hold out until that day. The demons would never expect that while they await the Five Yangs Transforming into the Moon, we too are waiting for the same moment.” The Venerable Azure Dragon exclaimed joyfully upon hearing this.

“With the monster’s aid, the worst-case scenario would merely be mutual destruction with the demons. If things truly become untenable, we can evacuate our core disciples to Tianyuan City immediately. There, even if we must live under others’ roofs, we’ll at least be safe from the demonic tribulation. A few days before the Five Yangs Transforming into the Moon, gather all the city’s accumulated resources and trusted disciples in one place. If trouble arises, we’ll use the ‘Cloud-Piercing Shuttles’ we’ve prepared to abandon the city swiftly. As long as we delay the Demon Venerables, our disciples will escape unharmed.” Fairy Lin Luan smiled, her plans meticulously laid out, leaving no room for oversight.

“Hmm, it seems this is our only option. What a pity—if Fellow Daoists Huang and Lie were still alive, Yitian City wouldn’t have fallen into such peril.” The Venerable Azure Dragon sighed deeply, his voice filled with regret.

“Indeed. No one could have anticipated how cunning these Demon Venerables have become. Otherwise, the Four Symbols Heaven-Overturning Formation we four prepared would have been more than enough to counter them.” Fairy Lin Luan also sighed softly.

“Very well, the general strategy is settled. However, with the loss of their Supreme Elders, the morale within the Yitian Sect and the other major sects is severely shaken. Fairy Lin, you must pay extra attention to this. Also, ensure the materials for repairing the Bronze Armor Puppets are supplied without delay. This puppet army, painstakingly crafted by our four sects over millennia, is our primary means of countering the Myriad Demon Cavalry.”

“Naturally. But to deal with the Jialun War Demons, we’ll likely have to deploy our most elite forces. The puppets alone won’t be enough to hold them off…” The Venerable Azure Dragon shifted the discussion to more specific matters. Fairy Lin Luan responded without hesitation. Though her cultivation was slightly inferior to his, she clearly held the dominant role in decision-making.

Meanwhile, as the two remaining Body Unity cultivators of Yitian City continued their grave deliberations, tens of thousands of miles away, within a massive valley shrouded in roiling demonic energy, four Demon Venerables gathered in a grand hall, deep in discussion.

Among them, a burly man clad in black armor sat imposingly at the head of the table, while a white-robed youth leaned against a stone pillar near the entrance, his face expressionless. The other two were a petite, alluring woman in a flowing blue dress, who smiled without speaking, and a towering four-zhang-tall giant encased in fiery red armor, his eyes flickering with restless flames.

“What? The three Power Venerables were slain simultaneously, and we’re ordered to halt our assault on Yitian City to investigate this?” The armored giant roared in disbelief, his voice booming through the hall despite his attempt to lower it, causing the others to frown.

“Brother Cang, is this true? You’re not jesting with us, are you?” The petite woman asked, her face a mix of shock and suspicion.

“I received the order upon my return. It was issued personally by Lord Xue Guang, so there’s no doubt of its authenticity. Moreover, his personal attendants, Yin and Yang, have been dispatched and will arrive here to join us within a month. It seems the three Power Venerables not only perished but also lost something of utmost importance to Lord Xue Guang.” The black-armored man replied grimly.

“Yin and Yang were sent out? Whatever was lost must be of incredible significance to Lord Xue Guang for him to part with his closest aides. Brother Cang, do you know what it was that provoked such a reaction from the Sacred Ancestor?” The woman’s voice trembled slightly.

“That, I do not know. The Sacred Ancestor did not specify. But you may ask Yin and Yang when they arrive.” The black-armored man shook his head.

“Giggle, asking about matters the Sacred Ancestor chose not to disclose would be inviting trouble. Still, we were so close to uprooting Yitian City—abandoning it now would be a true shame.” The woman blinked, her laughter light but tinged with regret.

Despite being only an early-stage Body Unity Demon Venerable, she showed little deference to the black-armored man, a peak late-stage Venerable.

“We’re not abandoning it—merely pausing our harassment. Once the Five Yangs Transforming into the Moon arrives, we’ll launch the final assault. Yitian City has gained two high-tier Body Unity cultivators with considerable abilities, making further skirmishes pointless. Besides, with Yin and Yang joining us, we’ll have their aid during the siege. No human schemes will stand against absolute power.” The black-armored man stated calmly.

“That’s true. With Yin and Yang participating, taking Yitian City will be effortless. But Brother Cang, from your tone, it seems you’ve already clashed with the two new human cultivators. You must have some insight into their abilities. Could you share it with us?” The woman’s eyes gleamed with curiosity.

“Brother Cold Blade also encountered them.” The black-armored man frowned slightly before answering.

“Brother Cold, you fought them too? How strong are they?” The red-armored giant rumbled.

“One early-stage, one mid-stage. One strong, one weak.” The white-robed youth spoke tersely after a long pause.

“Brother Cold, that’s far too vague. Besides, as a direct descendant of the Snow Sky Sacred Ancestor, your powers far surpass those of your peers. What you consider ‘strong’ or ‘weak’ might differ greatly from our perceptions.” The woman giggled behind her hand.

“One is weaker than you. The other can kill you. Clear enough?” The youth’s emotionless words cut her laughter short, her face paling and flushing alternately.

“Brother Cold, isn’t that an exaggeration? Fairy Yu is a collateral descendant of Lord Ming Luo. Even if her bloodline isn’t as pure as yours, she’s no ordinary Venerable.” The giant’s fiery eyes flared with skepticism.

“I’ve stated my judgment. Believe it or not.” The youth replied coldly.

The giant fell silent.

“Brother Cold’s words may be harsh, but one of those human cultivators is indeed extraordinary. At the very least, his physical strength rivals mine, and he possesses tremendous power—he withstood my Ten Thousand Layers Unified Grasp without flinching. And that technique carries a trace of law power, capable of toppling mountains and draining seas!” The black-armored man interjected with a dry laugh.

“He’s that formidable?” The woman’s expression sobered, her heart skipping a beat at the confirmation.

“Brother Cold wasn’t exaggerating. That human cultivator exudes extreme danger—I might not be able to defeat him either. That’s why Brother Cold and I withdrew after a brief encounter. If you two face him, exercise extreme caution.” The black-armored man’s tone turned grave.

“Thank you for the warning, Brothers Cang and Cold. But if I do encounter him, I’d love to test whether his skills truly match your descriptions.” The woman nodded, a combative glint in her eyes.

The black-armored man frowned, about to speak further, when the red-armored giant suddenly voiced a thought that stunned the others.

“If this new human cultivator is so formidable, could he be connected to the deaths of the three Power Venerables?”
