Chapter 1939: Repelling the Enemy

The golden radiance swirled, and the six golden blades abruptly merged into one, transforming into a colossal sword dozens of feet long that seemed to pierce the heavens.

With a flash of cold light, the demon’s central head first showed an expression of disbelief, followed by a thin line of blood appearing at its neck. The head immediately toppled and rolled to the ground.

The demon had been beheaded by Han Li with a single slash.

However, the giant ape’s face showed no joy. Its massive body pressed forward, and its six arms suddenly split apart, causing the colossal sword to separate back into six golden blades.

The six arms blurred, and a cacophony of piercing shrieks erupted as countless golden threads materialized and densely rained downward, seemingly intent on shredding the demon’s remaining body into pieces.

An unbelievable scene unfolded!

The demon’s mutilated body suddenly flapped its four wings in unison, propelling itself backward dozens of feet in an instant. At the same time, the sea of blood beneath it churned, and countless blood arrows shot into the air, blocking the descending golden threads.

From the stump of its severed neck, a surge of black mist emerged, and a new head identical to the original one appeared. However, one of the eight green ghostly heads on its shoulders mysteriously vanished.

The giant ape, which had intended to pursue relentlessly, darkened its expression but did not pause its movements. The six golden blades transformed once more, this time into six entirely different weapons: a ring, a spear, a mace, an awl, and others. With a mere flick, countless golden thunderflames surged from the weapons, roaring toward the distant demon in a torrential assault.

The colossal demon, having just lost a head, was clearly enraged as well. It let out a piercing shriek, and the remaining seven heads began chanting in unison while its hands formed an intricate and profound seal.

A howling wind erupted!

The surging sea of blood below suddenly began spinning rapidly around the demon, forming a massive whirlpool that instantly transformed into a towering crimson pillar shooting into the sky.

The demon ceased its hand seals and abruptly reached out, grasping the blood pillar.

The pillar flashed violently before solidifying into a massive blood-colored staff, hundreds of feet long and inscribed with dark black runes.

The demon seized it without hesitation and swung it fiercely toward the giant ape.

The sweeping staff shadows transformed into a raging crimson hurricane, accompanied by a foul stench that rolled outward.

Golden thunderflames and the crimson hurricane clashed, their flashes interweaving as deafening explosions echoed continuously.

The three-headed, six-armed giant ape narrowed its eyes coldly and raised its six weapons, charging menacingly toward the demon.

The demon snorted, holding the blood staff horizontally before leaping into the air with a single step, shooting forward as well.

For a time, the two equally ferocious behemoths clashed midair, their battle filling the sky with the clanging of metal.

Six golden lights and a crimson shadow flickered between indistinct blurs and dazzling radiance.

The sounds of combat were deafening!

Not long after their melee began, thirteen streaks of purple light and a thick gray shadow joined the fray from either side.

These were Han Li’s Purple-striped Gold-devouring Beetles and the colossal gray python.

Their involvement naturally intensified the battle, with buzzing and hissing sounds intermingling with the explosions.

Suddenly, an earth-shaking boom erupted as a multicolored halo emerged from the center of the battlefield. A terrifying shockwave radiated outward, darkening the void in its wake, as if space itself were collapsing.

At the heart of this collapse, two figures staggered backward, each flung hundreds of feet apart before barely steadying themselves. They were the giant ape—Han Li’s transformed self—and the demonized leader of the youths.

Both now appeared disheveled.

The golden-furred ape had patches of singed fur, and only three of its six weapons remained, all broken and incomplete.

As for the demon, its body was drenched in blood, two of the ghostly heads on its shoulders had been obliterated, and its massive blood staff had been split cleanly in two.

Clearly, the demon had suffered a significant loss in the recent battle.

The golden ape and the demon exchanged wary glances from a distance.

At that moment, another thunderous rumble came from the collapsing space. The multicolored radiance swirled, contracting and expanding before exploding once more.

This time, however, over a dozen streaks of purple light shot out from the blast.

They were Han Li’s Purple-striped Gold-devouring Beetles.

Meanwhile, the gray python attempted to escape the explosion but was halfway out when a tremendous suction force dragged it back into the collapsing void.

The erupting light completely engulfed the python.

Witnessing this, the demon’s body convulsed with gray mist, and it spat out a mouthful of blood, its face growing even paler.

The gray python had been conjured through its demonic arts and was spiritually linked to the youth. Its destruction had inflicted severe backlash on the demon’s true form.

The demon’s expression darkened further.

Seeing this, the giant ape swung its six arms simultaneously, and golden light flashed as six pristine weapons reappeared, gleaming coldly once more.

A golden glow enveloped the ape’s massive body, instantly restoring its damaged fur.

With a ferocious expression, the ape brandished its weapons, ready to charge again.

But at that moment, a muffled, earth-shaking roar came from the distance—where the Nine Palaces Heavenly Talisman’s mist had trapped the Rainbow Light Pagoda and another incarnation.

A phantom of a seven-colored pagoda flickered above the mist, spinning rapidly before unleashing countless beams of light like a tidal wave.

Wherever the beams passed, the mist dissipated, and the illusory palaces hidden within were pierced and shattered into scattered motes of light.

In an instant, the Nine Palaces Heavenly Talisman was broken.

A seven-colored rainbow shot out from the phantom, flashing several times before appearing high in the sky. The light condensed, reforming into a human figure.

The giant ape’s pupils contracted at the sight.

The demon, however, brightened with joy.

The figure was the other incarnation that had been trapped in the Ten Thousand Swords Diagram.

At this critical moment, it had forcibly broken free using the Rainbow Light Pagoda’s unfathomable power.

Yet when Han Li scrutinized the figure, his expression flickered before settling back into calm.

The newly freed youth, though still holding the seven-colored pagoda, was deathly pale, his aura drastically weakened. The pagoda itself had dimmed, having lost some of its spiritual essence.

The demon also noticed its companion’s dire state and growled, “What happened? With the Rainbow Light Pagoda, how did you end up like this?”

The youth snorted and transmitted his reply, “This brat used some troublesome treasure—it doesn’t seem to be from the Spirit Realm. If I hadn’t resorted to my final measure, you wouldn’t be seeing me now.”

“Not from the Spirit Realm?” The demon’s face twisted with shock and suspicion. “Can you still fight?”

“As long as you’re unharmed, I won’t be in too much trouble. But the pagoda’s spiritual essence is damaged—I can’t use its spatial powers for now,” the youth replied coldly.

“So even with both of us, victory isn’t assured?” The demon frowned, his expression shifting uncertainly.

The youth glanced at the golden ape, then at his last companion still locked in combat with Han Li’s spirit body, but remained silent.

Over there, though the spirit body was clearly at a disadvantage, its undying nature—inherited from the Immortal Mushroom—and its array of bizarre innate abilities made it more than capable of self-defense.

The other blood incarnation couldn’t break free either.

Seeing this, the demon’s hesitation deepened.

Though the situation seemed dire, retreating now was unacceptable.

He had taken a tremendous risk by sending three strands of his divine sense into the Spirit Realm, all to reclaim the Demon Subduing Pagoda and further his grand scheme. Yet not only had he failed, but two of his Profound Heaven Treasures had been damaged—one losing its spiritual essence, the other vanishing inexplicably. His frustration and resentment were palpable.

Han Li, recognizing the demon’s indecision, suddenly had his three heads chant in unison. One arm reached out, and a broken golden blade materialized in its grasp.

As the ape raised the blade, radiant light erupted, causing the surrounding spiritual energy to churn violently. Countless multicolored specks of light emerged in the void, converging onto the broken blade with overwhelming momentum.

“A Profound Heaven Treasure!”

The demon gasped, his eyes locked onto the glowing blade in the ape’s hand, his face filled with dread.

The youth’s eyelids twitched violently at the sight.

“Retreat!”

The demon finally uttered the command through gritted teeth.

His four wings flapped, and the sea of blood below surged upward, enveloping his massive form in a crimson glow as he fled into the distance.

The youth holding the pagoda hesitated briefly before shaking the treasure lightly, transforming into a seven-colored rainbow and following suit.
