Chapter 2296: Power of Time and Space

“Bang!”

A delicate hand was halfway through its strike when the fingers suddenly splayed and changed direction, aiming straight for the old man’s Spirit Infant’s crown.

“You dare!”

The old man reacted swiftly. With a loud shout, his Spirit Infant blurred and vanished into the nearby void.

But the blood-robed girl merely chuckled softly. Her jade-like hand blurred as well, plunging into the void before yanking back fiercely.

With a “pop,” her hand re-emerged, fingers shimmering with streaks of bloodlight, clutching a tightly bound miniature figure—none other than the old man surnamed Yi’s Spirit Infant, now covered in dense crimson threads, utterly immobilized. His face was a mask of terror as he roared in shock and fury, “The Law of Time and Space—this is the true power of spacetime! You’ve fused the two laws into one!”

“Uncle Yi, your niece achieved this feat a century ago, though limited by my cultivation, I couldn’t delve deeper. But now, with your perfected Spirit Infant, I have a bit more confidence,” the blood-robed girl giggled. Her other hand flipped, revealing a small crimson banner.

“The Soul-Drawing Banner! You intend to use the Soul-Refining Art on me! Fellow Daoist Luo, stop your daughter! Has she gone mad? Without me, how will you extract spatial power from the Voidfish clan’s cores? Only I know the method! And without me, you won’t survive the current crisis!” The old man’s Spirit Infant shrieked in terror at the sight of the banner, his voice shrill as he screamed toward the woman in the other battle.

The mother of the Asura Spider clan had long noticed the situation, her heart equally filled with shock and fury. Hearing the old man’s plea, she immediately retreated from her opponent’s three avatars, merging back into her original form. After hastily deploying several treasures to shield herself, she urgently transmitted to the blood-robed girl, “Ying’er, what are you doing? This is no time for infighting! Release Fellow Daoist Yi at once, restore his body with spacetime power, and focus on the enemy before us!”

“Mother, don’t worry. I’ve already extracted the spatial power refinement method from his personal disciple. As for these enemies, they’re no concern—I have a way to deal with them,” the girl replied nonchalantly, ignoring her mother’s further protests. Instead, she smiled sweetly at the bound Spirit Infant and pointed a finger at it.

A faint bloodlight flickered at her fingertip, releasing a strange sealing force.

The old man’s Spirit Infant stiffened, his face twisting with venomous hatred, but no sound escaped his lips.

Outside the stone city, Han Li shuddered at the words “Law of Time and Space,” his expression briefly horrified. But witnessing the girl’s next move, he sneered, recalling his own Spirit Infant and raising a hand toward his Golden Saint Avatar, preparing to launch another assault on the city’s barriers.

Just then, the girl glanced at him, her lips moving soundlessly.

Simultaneously, Han Li heard her melodious voice in his ear.

His expression shifted, and after a moment’s thought, he formed a seal. Golden light swirled around him as he reverted from the giant ape to his human form. The Golden Saint Avatar lunged toward him, merging seamlessly back into his body.

The girl on the city wall smiled coquettishly at Han Li before tossing the crimson banner into the air.

With a “bang,” the banner transformed into a bloodlight, soaring upward.

As the girl chanted, the remaining wolf-headed monsters around her exploded into bloody mist, surging into the banner.

The banner swelled to ten feet in size, its surface roiling with bloody energy, faintly forming a grotesque ghostly face—a visage split down the middle, one side a hideous man, the other a stunningly beautiful woman, cackling eerily. Its maw gaped, spewing a crimson mist that engulfed the Spirit Infant in her hand.

The old man’s face drained of color at the sight of the ghostly face, his gaze pleading. But as the bloodlight flashed, his eyes rolled back, and he was swallowed by the ghostly maw without a sound.

The girl formed a series of seals, pointing at the banner.

The ghostly face vanished, and the banner shrank back to its original size, flying into her mouth with a blur.

“Done at last! Mother, stop fighting. Come back—we can now negotiate with these fellow Daoists,” the girl said, nodding in satisfaction at Han Li before addressing the woman.

“You truly went through with it. Fine. I’ll see how you convince these outsiders,” the Asura Spider matriarch said, her anger fading as she flew back to the city, abandoning her opponents.

Bloodburn and Blackscale, unwilling to let her go, roared and prepared to pursue.

But Han Li’s calm voice reached them:

“Hold, fellow Daoists. Let’s hear what this Fairy Ying has to say before acting.”

“What do you mean, Brother Han?” Bloodburn asked warily, halting mid-motion.

Having witnessed Han Li’s earlier display of power, the two aliens now regarded him with deep caution.

“Nothing much. It seems Fairy Ying is willing to offer us some cores. If true, there’s no need for further conflict,” Han Li said lightly.

“Really? Or is this another stalling tactic?” Bloodburn asked, surprised.

“If she lies, we can always fight. What harm is there in a brief delay?” Han Li replied evenly.

“Very well. If Brother Han says so, we’ll hear her out,” Bloodburn said after a quick exchange with Blackscale.

Their compliance stemmed largely from their inability to gain the upper hand against the Asura Spider matriarch, leaving them uncertain of victory.

The two flew toward Han Li.

Meanwhile, the Asura Spider clan’s dozen or so Integration-stage members emerged from the city, landing on the walls—a sign they were serious about negotiations.

The Asura Spider matriarch appeared beside the blood-robed girl, studying her with a strange gaze before sighing. “Since Fellow Daoist Yi is gone and you’re set on peace, I won’t stop you. But you must explain this fusion of spacetime laws.”

“Of course, Mother. Once this is settled, I’ll explain everything,” the girl said cheerfully.

“Since you’re so confident, I’ll leave this to you,” the matriarch said reluctantly.

The other clan members exchanged bewildered glances.

The blood-robed girl laughed, her figure flashing as she flew beyond the city’s barrier, appearing near Han Li and the others—utterly fearless despite facing three Great Ascension cultivators.

Bloodburn and Blackscale exchanged uneasy looks.

Han Li’s eyes gleamed briefly as he remarked coolly, “Bold of you, facing us three with only Integration-stage cultivation.”

“If I dared come alone, I’m not afraid of you three. Not that I could defeat you all, but escaping? That, I’m confident in,” the girl said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

“Arrogant!” Blackscale growled, itching to strike.

“Her tone may be bold, but killing her would indeed be difficult. The Law of Time and Space, fusing time and space, is the pinnacle of laws. Even with her inferior cultivation, she’s nearly invincible,” Han Li said, frowning.

“The Law of Time and Space?”

“Asura Spiders can barely scratch the surface of time laws—how has she mastered space and fused them?”

Bloodburn and Blackscale gasped in shock.
