Chapter 2371: Battle with the Fifth Patriarch

“Since Brother Han is determined to stand up for this woman, don’t blame Xiao for not showing any courtesy. Fairy Huaxi, Brother Wugou, the three of us will deal with Fellow Daoist Han. There’s no need to truly defeat him; just keep him occupied so he can’t divert his attention. Let Qingping and Wanhua capture his companion. Once done, we’ll split the treasures on her equally, and each of us can make a copy of the legacy techniques of the Tian Ding True Lord. Any objections?” Xiao Ming’s face darkened as he turned to address Fairy Huaxi.

“What? The three of us against him alone? Fellow Daoist Xiao, when did you, the Mad Demon, become so timid?” Fairy Huaxi scoffed dismissively.

“Hmph, it seems the Fairy is unaware of Fellow Daoist Han’s background, hence your overconfidence. In truth, he is…” Xiao Ming suddenly began transmitting a message through lip movements.

After hearing just a few words, Fairy Huaxi’s expression abruptly changed, her gaze toward Han Li now filled with deep wariness. Once the message concluded, she exhaled sharply and said, “Very well, my husband and I will cooperate with Brother Xiao to restrain this man. However, once Daoist Qingping and Fellow Daoist Wanhua succeed, I hope they won’t entertain any treacherous thoughts. Otherwise, my husband and I won’t hesitate to turn against them—they know full well what we’re capable of.”

“Rest assured, Fairy. We are not rootless individuals and would never act so foolishly,” Daoist Qingping quickly replied, nearly swearing an oath.

Madam Wanhua also nodded eagerly, her eyes burning with fervor.

Watching the five Great Ascension cultivators brazenly discussing their alliance right before him, Han Li smiled faintly. His lips moved silently as he transmitted a few words to the pale-faced Bingpo beside him. At the same time, one of his fingers twitched imperceptibly, and a faint golden thread flashed and vanished.

Upon hearing the message, Bingpo’s expression shifted, and the fear in her eyes diminished significantly.

“Attack!” Xiao Ming barked.

With a roll, a blood-red cloud spanning an acre materialized, emitting a low growl. A massive nine-eyed blood toad emerged, its nine demonic eyes snapping open simultaneously. Nine blood-red beams shot out, converging near Han Li’s side—aimed directly at Bingpo.

Startled, Bingpo instinctively twisted her body and teleported away, reappearing a hundred zhang away in the void.

Meanwhile, Fairy Huaxi flicked her sleeves, and crystalline rings—each the size of a palm—materialized around her, numbering in the hundreds. With a wave of her hand, the rings hummed and shot toward Han Li like a storm, appearing around him from all directions.

The silent Wugou Patriarch opened his mouth, spewing a stream of pale golden flames that engulfed him, forming a sea of fire. The flames surged, transforming into towering waves that rolled toward Han Li. Even before the flames descended, an unbearable heat permeated the void around Han Li, as if the very air had ignited.

The trio of Xiao Ming, Fairy Huaxi, and Wugou Patriarch lived up to their reputations as Great Ascension cultivators. Their coordinated attack was seamless, effortlessly separating Bingpo from Han Li.

Yet, strangely, Han Li made no move to assist Bingpo. Instead, he smiled faintly and raised a hand. A thunderous boom echoed as three shimmering mountains, each over ten zhang tall, materialized and spun around him, forming an impenetrable crystalline barrier.

The countless rings struck the barrier with dull thuds, failing to budge it. Even the golden flames only caused the barrier to flicker slightly, leaving it intact.

From within the barrier, Han Li’s eyes flashed with ferocity. With a low roar, his body swelled under golden light, transforming into a hundred-zhang-tall golden-furred ape. His arms blurred as they reached through the barrier, hurling two massive peaks—one black, one green—toward Fairy Huaxi and Wugou Patriarch.

The peaks shot through the air with deafening force, their crushing weight causing the void to tremble. Fairy Huaxi’s face paled as she twisted her slender waist, retreating swiftly. Her rings coalesced into a giant crystalline loop, ensnaring the descending peak and halting its advance.

Wugou Patriarch, however, summoned a golden fire giant, which punched the oncoming peak repeatedly, its shattered limbs regenerating instantly from the flames.

Meanwhile, Xiao Ming’s nine-eyed blood toad lashed out with its tongue, weaving a crimson net to deflect the barrage of colossal fists Han Li’s ape form hurled from afar.

Thus, Han Li engaged all three adversaries at once.

Seizing the opportunity, Madam Wanhua and Daoist Qingping teleported beside Bingpo. With a sinister grin, Wanhua plucked a black wooden hairpin from her hair, transforming it into a sword wreathed in black flames. She slashed, summoning a hundred-zhang-long fire serpent that lunged at Bingpo.

Daoist Qingping flicked his sleeve, producing a cyan horsetail whisk. Chanting “Limitless Heavenly Lord,” he lashed it toward Bingpo, unleashing a storm of green needles that filled half the sky.

Bingpo’s expression darkened as she raised a translucent ice shield, breathing onto it. The shield expanded into a crystalline dome, exuding extreme cold and shielding her completely. The green needles clattered harmlessly against it.

Undeterred, Wanhua pointed at the black fire serpent, causing its flames to surge. The serpent coiled and dove, its heat dispersing the icy aura around Bingpo’s shield.

Suddenly, a thunderbolt as thick as a vat struck the serpent’s head, shattering it into embers.

“Who’s there?” Wanhua shrieked, scanning the void.

Before she could react, silver lightning arced across the sky, coalescing into a massive golden crab the size of an acre, its pincers gleaming menacingly.

Stunned, Wanhua barely had time to register the creature’s terrifying aura before it raised a pincer and snapped it toward her.

A translucent pincer materialized above her, crackling with lightning. In desperation, Wanhua summoned a black lion phantom behind her, which spewed a beam of dark light at the pincer. The beam exploded into fiery chains, ensnaring the pincer tightly.
