Chapter 145: The Mutant Seed

Luo Bingfeng raised two fingers, and the Yun Zhongyun brothers’ faces instantly turned pale, sweat pouring down their foreheads. In that moment, they felt as if they were on the brink of life and death.

The elderly man from the Imperial Family also changed his expression, exclaiming, “Not good! They can’t hold him off!”

The strong warriors from the Imperial Family were all shocked. The Yun Zhongyun brothers had a high reputation, and their profound martial arts were particularly effective against strong opponents. Within the palace, there were only a few who could break through their defenses. This time, they were specifically dispatched to the neutral ground to deal with a formidable figure like Luo Bingfeng.

But who would have thought that Luo Bingfeng was so powerful? A casual strike from him was incredibly potent, nearly shattering the brothers’ defenses at once. If he were to unleash his full strength, how many among the empire’s strong could withstand his blow and survive?

Despite seeing the danger, no one dared to move. If even the Yun Zhongyun brothers couldn’t stop him, anyone else going in would be courting death.

The elderly man from the Imperial Family was both shocked and furious. He didn’t have time to scold the others, and instead, he leaped forward, intending to intervene. Just as he moved, Luo Bingfeng suddenly turned his head, giving him an icy glare. The elderly man felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over him, freezing him stiff on the spot, unable to move!

With a thud, the elderly man, just having left the ground, fell back onto the deck, looking extremely disheveled. The surrounding strong warriors hurriedly rushed to help, lifting him up. Fortunately, Luo Bingfeng merely glanced in their direction, then turned back, without any intention of pursuing them.

However, while the elderly man narrowly escaped, the Yun Zhongyun brothers found themselves on the brink of disaster, as Luo Bingfeng’s eyes now locked onto them.

Luo Bingfeng’s right hand formed a sword-like gesture, raising it to his brow, ready to deliver a devastating strike.

The Yun Zhongyun brothers, pale as death, desperately erected dozens of elemental shields around them. But they knew deep down that no matter how many shields they used, they wouldn’t be able to block Luo Bingfeng’s earth-shattering strike.

Just as the strike was about to be unleashed, Luo Bingfeng suddenly raised his eyebrows, let out a light “Hmm,” and turned his head to the side. In his line of sight, Qian Ye was standing mid-air, his figure flickering in and out of visibility.

As soon as Luo Bingfeng saw Qian Ye, Qian Ye’s figure flashed and disappeared.

After a brief pause, Luo Bingfeng retracted his sword-fingers, his eyes suddenly emitting a dazzling light, scanning the void and the ground for Qian Ye. For some reason, Qian Ye always gave him an ominous feeling. This feeling was somewhat inexplicable, even though Qian Ye possessed the peak elemental force of the Dawn Enlightenment, his cultivation was still low, and Luo Bingfeng did not feel threatened by him.

Yet, Qian Ye made him feel an inexplicable caution, even to the point of letting the Yun Zhongyun brothers go for the moment. However, Luo Bingfeng had no intention of letting the brothers escape easily. He curved his fingers and shot several palm-sized sword energies, each flying like lightning, wildly slashing and stabbing at the brothers, causing them to scream in pain.

Luo Bingfeng’s gaze swept over, suddenly locking onto a spot. With a huff, he flashed and appeared above that spot.

Qian Ye’s figure appeared just in time, having just completed his void blink, and was immediately locked onto by Luo Bingfeng.

Without hesitation, Luo Bingfeng raised his hand like a blade, chopping down at Qian Ye.

The Li Family elder, who was closest to the coalition fleet, saw Luo Bingfeng leaving the sacred mountain domain, gritted his teeth, and flew into action. A frost sword appeared in his hand, and he merged with it, thrusting towards Luo Bingfeng’s heart.

Luo Bingfeng sneered, transforming his chop into a sweep, extending a hundred-meter-long light whip, slicing across the Li elder. This strike was immensely imposing, like a brilliant galaxy. The Li elder was shocked, but there was no way to retreat. He braced himself and swung his sword with all his might, aiming for the light whip.

The hundred-meter light whip was severed by the Li elder’s sword, but his own frost sword shattered, his face turning pale, spitting out a mouthful of blood as he flew backward, staggering towards his flagship.

Luo Bingfeng, after a slight tremor in his right hand, returned to normal and aimed another chop at Qian Ye.

As he raised his hand, a light whip shot out. The jade-colored light whip, like a sharp blade, sliced Qian Ye’s figure in half. But Qian Ye’s figure twisted, and he once again used his void blink, disappearing.

Luo Bingfeng let out a surprised “Hmm,” and said, “You run fast! Let’s see how many times you can escape!”

His eyes once again emitted a brilliant light, illuminating all shadows. As Luo Bingfeng searched for Qian Ye, he suddenly heard a rebuke, “Arrogant! Do you think our Great Qin has no one?!”

Luo Bingfeng turned his head to see a purple aura piercing through the air, heading straight for his forehead.

Thirty meters away, the elderly man from the Imperial Family flew in, pointing his finger, which had turned completely purple, transparent, with a golden finger bone visible inside.

Facing the purple aura, Luo Bingfeng’s face showed a mocking smile, and he pointed his fingers like a sword, lightly touching the purple aura.

The elderly man’s body violently shook, his momentum stopped, and he was sent flying backward.

Luo Bingfeng wasn’t about to let it go. He extended his finger, and a sword energy shot out, flying towards the elderly man.

At this critical moment, the Yun Zhongyun brothers reappeared, merging their bodies and crashing into the sword energy. The sword energy pierced through both of them, but lost its edge, allowing the elderly man to dodge it.

Luo Bingfeng did not pursue, tucking his left hand behind his back, coldly saying, “So what if I consider your Great Qin to be without a single person?”

The elderly man’s purple finger had faded, and he was gradually recovering. Hearing these words, he was so angry that he trembled, blood trickling from his mouth. However, he had suffered a great loss in the previous exchange, and clearly needed time to regain his strength. Despite his anger, he was helpless.

Luo Bingfeng glanced at the Yun Zhongyun brothers again, frowning slightly, “You two are quite troublesome. I can’t leave you alive.”

The Yun Zhongyun brothers were terrified and retreated a hundred meters, increasing the distance between them and Luo Bingfeng. Upon closer inspection, their wounds were rapidly healing. In the initial battle, they had been cut to pieces by Luo Bingfeng’s sword energy, but now, they had mostly recovered. Their recovery abilities were so impressive that, as long as they didn’t die, they could continue fighting. It was no wonder they were entrusted with such a crucial task. However, Luo Bingfeng’s killing power was too overwhelming; in the face of his lethal moves, any defense or recovery ability was useless.

Luo Bingfeng suddenly turned his head, his gaze falling on Yan Ding.

Yan Ding was actually several hundred meters away, holding a large sniper rifle, surreptitiously searching for an angle to ambush. When Luo Bingfeng glared at him, he was startled, his body trembling, almost dropping the gun. After the shock, Yan Ding realized that Luo Bingfeng’s deadly stare was not directed at him, and although he felt relieved, he was also chilled to the bone, quickly retreating, not daring to move under Luo Bingfeng’s watchful eye.

Luo Bingfeng didn’t bother to look at Yan Ding again. He clasped his hands in front of his chest, forming a complex hand seal. Instantly, his movements changed, and each change released a sword energy, shooting out like rain, covering the entire area. Though these sword energies were only palm-sized and finger-thick, no one dared to underestimate their sharpness, and everyone focused on dealing with them.

Yan Ding had bad luck, being targeted by three sword energies at once. He discarded the sniper rifle, drew his sword, and managed to deflect two of the sword energies before turning and running, evading the remaining sword energy.

While the empire’s strong warriors struggled with the rain of sword energies, Luo Bingfeng suddenly appeared in front of the flagship of the coalition fleet, extending his five fingers, grabbing directly at the ship. The strong warriors from the coalition families were shocked; they had already seen Luo Bingfeng split a warship with a single palm, and none dared to let him attack their flagship.

But with Luo Bingfeng’s overwhelming strength, anyone challenging him alone was courting death. Seeing the impending disaster, Li Elder shouted, and the other family experts took action, each occupying a position. Under their feet, elemental arrays lit up, forming a larger array that enveloped all the experts and the flagship.

Luo Bingfeng remained unafraid, closing his five fingers, exhaling, and delivering a punch.

This punch had the power to crumble mountains and boil seas, striking at the vital points, with nothing able to stop it!

With Li Elder at the core, the experts from the various families shouted together, combining their forces into a grand array to meet the strongest punch. As the punch met the array, Luo Bingfeng let out a “Huh,” remaining motionless, while cracks in space appeared beneath his feet. The grand array formed by the experts was pushed back a hundred meters!

Li Elder’s hands trembled slightly, “Stepping on the void, striking the eight peaks! He… he is this powerful?!”

According to legend, the Heavenly Kings stood in perfect harmony with heaven and earth, appearing to stand in the air with no support, but in reality, the entirety of the world was their support. Without overwhelming power, one could not hope to make them budge.

Though Luo Bingfeng had not truly reached the level of a Heavenly King, he was very close. Such a figure far exceeded the worst expectations. Had they known his true strength, Song Zining might not have decided to advance his army and fight with his back to the wall.

After the punch, Luo Bingfeng did not continue his assault. However, the experts from the various families did not dare to disperse the grand array. While the array held, they could only defend, unable to counterattack. In essence, they were afraid.

Luo Bingfeng surveyed the field, his gaze finally settling on Song Zining.

Song Zining, fully armored, stood at the bow of the ship. Seeing Luo Bingfeng’s gaze, he let out a self-deprecating laugh, “I never expected the city lord to be such an extraordinary person. This miscalculation, I suppose, is because of Lady Nan?”

Luo Bingfeng’s eyes softened, “Nan Nan, I indeed owe her too much. You don’t deserve to lose.”

Song Zining snorted, “Maybe I haven’t lost yet. May I ask, why me this time?”

Luo Bingfeng replied calmly, “Given enough time, you will surely become a great threat.”

“Time will tell, but for now, I am—”

Luo Bingfeng interrupted, “Even now, you are difficult to deal with. If I don’t kill you, there might be unforeseen changes.”

These words, coming from Luo Bingfeng, were a high compliment, indicating that in his eyes, Song Zining was already a formidable opponent. Even Li Elder and the elderly man from the Imperial Family received such treatment, and the Yun Zhongyun brothers combined were barely equivalent to one Song Zining.

Still, Song Zining disagreed, “That’s not a reason.”

The strong warriors from the empire believed Song Zining was stalling for time, but they were unsure why. Unexpectedly, Luo Bingfeng answered seriously, “If you are in mortal danger, Qian Ye will appear.”

Song Zining froze, picked up his gun, put on a mask, and stood at the bow, saying, “Qian Ye won’t come. No need for further talk. If you want to kill me, come and get it!”

Luo Bingfeng stepped forward, ready to strike, but suddenly felt a slight prickling in his back, as if something was there and not there.
