Chapter 303: An Siyao: Renewal

Leaving the Student Union of the university, Xia Yu returned to the second academic district and headed towards the College Student Union.

Inside the College Student Union, Xia Yu approached a female member and easily extracted the name of the person in charge of student loans.

Yet Yi Shiyou wasn’t among them.

Xia Yu glanced again at the photos of the responsible personnel and noticed one familiar face.

That was one of the three individuals who had previously dined with Yi Shiyou.

It was almost certain that Yi Shiyou was behind this. Still, Xia Yu discreetly inquired further, asking whether the person in charge had a grudge against Kangkang, but he heard no such rumors.

Leaving the Student Union amidst the reluctant farewells of the girl, Xia Yu sent a message to Duan Yi, asking her to check with Kangkang whether he had offended either of the two responsible personnel in the college.

Duan Yi replied quickly:

“I already asked about this.”

She then asked, “How are you doing? You didn’t meet the person in charge, right?”

Indeed, Xia Yu hadn’t met the person responsible for the matter. He had only met the bespectacled female president of the Student Union.

So he replied:

“Yeah.”

“These people know trouble when they see it and are avoiding meeting you,” Duan Yi sent a sighing emoji.

She continued, “Well, looks like Kangkang won’t be getting that money after all.”

“I got it,” Xia Yu replied.

“Got what?” Duan Yi asked, puzzled.

“The loan. It should be processed in a few days,” Xia Yu answered.

“Seriously?” Duan Yi couldn’t believe it. “But you didn’t even meet the person in charge!”

“I didn’t meet the vice president, but I did meet the president.”

“… Amazing!”

That was the only word she could find to describe it.

Thinking about how she had spent the entire afternoon, made numerous calls, and even lost a few strands of hair trying to resolve the issue, only for Xia Yu to fix it in an instant, Duan Yi felt deeply impressed.

“There’s another thing I should tell you,” Xia Yu had no intention of keeping Yi Shiyou’s actions a secret. Since Yi Shiyou was clearly retaliating, possibly targeting the entire class, it was necessary to warn the students to be prepared.

“What is it?”

“I asked the president of the Student Union and found out that the poverty certificate isn’t required after all.”

“Someone sabotaged it?” Duan Yi’s eyes widened. She hadn’t been this excited even when Xia Yu just said the issue was resolved.

“I traced the person who was holding it up. It’s someone from the College Student Union, one of the people who had dinner with Yi Shiyou last time.”

Xia Yu’s implication was clear. After grasping the information, Duan Yi remained silent for a long time.

Ten seconds later, she replied:

“How could he do this!”

“Just be careful from now on,” Xia Yu wasn’t interested in analyzing Yi Shiyou’s motives.

“I understand. Thanks,” Duan Yi expressed her gratitude to Xia Yu.

“Shouldn’t you show a bit more sincerity when thanking someone?” Xia Yu casually remarked.

“Then should I come over and lick you?” Duan Yi hadn’t forgotten the teasing she received from Xia Yu at the restaurant when she said this before. She felt that her evasion at that time was like admitting defeat. Now, she wanted to turn the tables.

“No, your fangs are too sharp,” Xia Yu declined Duan Yi’s offer and ended the conversation with an “I have something else to do.”

After sending the word “goodbye,” Duan Yi pondered over the phrase “your fangs are too sharp.”

The internet in this world was far less developed than on Earth, so these kinds of references hadn’t spread yet.

After asking in a small chat group with the female classmates, she received some quiet guidance from a more experienced girl, and Duan Yi’s face immediately turned red.

She realized she had lost this round again.

She made a mental note of this.

Meanwhile, Xia Yu got off the car and returned home.

He saw An Siyao sitting on the sofa, braiding You Xue’s hair.

Seeing Xia Yu’s return, An Siyao put down the half-finished braid and walked toward him.

Xia Yu gently touched the girl’s face and held her hand, leading her into his room.

On the sofa, You Xue took five seconds to process the fact that she had been left behind. Feeling wronged, she scratched her head.

At this moment, Xia Yu came out again.

He walked behind You Xue and helped the girl finish braiding her hair.

“Big brother is the best!” The girl happily hugged Xia Yu.

“Alright, go play by yourself now,” Xia Yu was eager to return to An Siyao.

“I understand. When you’re done, just call me back!” Grabbing her little bag, You Xue walked out of the house.

Back in the room, Xia Yu thought about the phrase “when you’re done” that You Xue had said, glancing at An Siyao.

Finishing meant having done something.

Unaware that Xia Yu was up to no good, An Siyao tugged at his clothes and pulled out a bank card, placing it in his hand.

“New money.” A hint of pride showed on the girl’s face.

Xia Yu patted her head encouragingly.

He took the card without asking how much was in the account. Firstly, it felt impolite to ask, and secondly, he didn’t know the password anyway.

“The password is still the same as before,” An Siyao added.

The original password was the day they met, but unfortunately, Xia Yu couldn’t remember exactly which day that was, and he felt awkward asking.

Putting the card aside, Xia Yu hugged An Siyao.

An Siyao’s body stiffened instantly, her face blushing, though she was much better than the first time they hugged.

Holding the girl like that, Xia Yu chatted with her about the Feng sisters in District Eleven.

The Feng sisters were doing quite well. Feng Yujia quickly became the head of a small department in the Student Union at her university, while Feng Yumo became the president of the Student Union at her high school.

Xia Yu guessed that their father from the Feng family had arranged this, aiming to help the two daughters adapt to life in District Eleven more quickly.

As long as they were happy now, they wouldn’t dwell on the past.

During their conversation, An Siyao gradually lowered her guard, her tense body relaxing.

Unfortunately, it was already getting close to evening.

It was almost time to call You Xue back. However, after You Xue returned home, Xia Yu couldn’t stay too close to An Siyao. You Xue was a sensitive girl, and she might get the wrong idea.

After You Xue came back, the three of them played some card games together.

At eight in the evening, Xia Yu sent An Siyao back to the villa.

Inside the villa, he was stopped by Yu Ningmeng: “Tomorrow is when I’ll be getting rid of all the shares. It’s expected to happen in the morning, so remember to answer my call.”

Xia Yu agreed.

“How has Yao been lately?” Yu Ningmeng asked some more questions about An Siyao.

After confirming that the two hadn’t gone as far as having a physical relationship, Yu Ningmeng bid Xia Yu farewell and returned to her bedroom.

On the desk in her bedroom lay a thick stack of documents.

Now that the matter with that company was settled, it was time to start working on her own plans.

Yu Liang had kept his promise, providing An Siyao with the funds, giving Yu Ningmeng the opportunity to show her capabilities.

The initial cash was a full fifty million, and if that wasn’t enough, more could be added. She had more than enough to work with!

Yu Liang wanted Yu Ningmeng to start a business with An Siyao, allowing An Siyao to gain experience so she could eventually take over the Yu family’s business. The funds were in An Siyao’s hands because she had actively requested them. Yu Liang had assumed An Siyao was showing initiative and had been quite pleased.

Neither Yu Liang nor Yu Ningmeng realized that the funds given to An Siyao the day before had already ended up in Xia Yu’s hands.
