Chapter 322: An Siyu: It’s not me, I didn’t do it

Following the route from yesterday, An Siyu once again arrived in front of Hu Lianglu’s house. He took out the spare key he had previously obtained and unlocked the door.

After entering, Xia Yu waited for Hu Lianglu to come out and greet him.

He had made quite a bit of noise, so Hu Lianglu must have heard him. Upon hearing someone suddenly entering her house, she would definitely come out to check.

However, contrary to Xia Yu’s expectations, Hu Lianglu truly did not come out.

Xia Yu became somewhat puzzled. He felt that Hu Lianglu couldn’t possibly be that oblivious.

Could it be that the girl was still asleep?

Xia Yu glanced at the time—it was nine in the morning. There was indeed a possibility that Hu Lianglu was still asleep.

Arriving at the bedroom door inside, An Siyu pushed it open.

He saw Hu Lianglu, but not in bed—she was on the floor.

Hu Lianglu was clutching her stomach, her expression somewhat pained.

After observing for two seconds, Xia Yu picked her up and placed her onto the bed, then went to the kitchen to fetch a kettle of water to boil.

During the time the water was heating, he returned to the bedroom.

“How are you feeling? Do you need anything specific?” Xia Yu was asking if she had things like a hot water bottle.

“Don’t need your help!” Although Hu Lianglu’s body was trembling from the pain, her tone remained sharp.

As Xia Yu waited for the water to boil, he casually said, “If you know it’s serious, you should have prepared beforehand.”

Hu Lianglu remained silent for five seconds before speaking, word by word: “It’s not that.”

Not her period? Then what could it be?

In Xia Yu’s mind, scenes from youth pain literature flashed by—abortion, breakups, suicide.

He looked at Hu Lianglu’s flat stomach and recalled the sight of her pale, smooth abdomen from yesterday, dismissing that idea.

Since it wasn’t either of those, it was most likely a problem with her stomach or intestines.

That wasn’t something that could be endured at home. Xia Yu called the usual taxi driver. It was too late to call An Siyao now—he had to see if the taxi driver had any friends nearby.

Enticed by money, the taxi driver quickly made arrangements.

Xia Yu called the driver again, asking him to go to the hospital in advance, otherwise the time spent queuing for registration would be too long.

Three minutes later, a taxi pulled up downstairs. Xia Yu picked up Hu Lianglu and got into the car.

The hospital was nearby, so the car arrived quickly.

After getting out, An Siyu met the driver. Using a back entrance that had already been arranged, the driver brought Hu Lianglu directly in front of an expert.

After a brief examination, the expert determined the cause of Hu Lianglu’s stomach pain.

“What did you eat? Did you get an upset stomach from something?” the expert asked Hu Lianglu.

Hu Lianglu didn’t respond. She was still silently protesting against Xia Yu.

Upon hearing the expert’s words, An Siyu stroked his chin, suddenly struck by a thought.

“Anyway, don’t eat that kind of thing again,” the expert didn’t ask further. He had seen many people eat all sorts of strange things and had long since become accustomed to it.

He prescribed some medicine for Hu Lianglu, explained the dosage and how to take it, and concluded the treatment.

An Siyu first fetched some water at the hospital and had Hu Lianglu take the medicine, then they got back into the driver’s car and returned to Hu Lianglu’s house.

After taking the medicine, Hu Lianglu felt somewhat better. She turned her head to look out the window, avoiding An Siyu’s gaze.

The driver in front, glancing at his employer and the unfamiliar girl through the rearview mirror, pondered what kind of situation this might be.

Since the young mistress was going out of her way for this girl, their relationship must be special. However, why did this girl seem so cold?

Under such a special but seemingly poor relationship, there were generally two possibilities:

First, they were in a senior-junior relationship. That was impossible, so it could be ruled out.

Second, they were merely pretending to be at odds.

What the driver couldn’t imagine was that Xia Yu had deliberately approached Hu Lianglu using An Siyao’s body. In his mind, An Siyao’s image was cold, so his conclusion was off.

After determining that the girl was pretending to be upset, the driver couldn’t help but wonder what she was upset about.

He thought of a clue.

The expert said the girl had an upset stomach from eating something bad, but for a girl dining with the young mistress, how could she possibly eat unclean food during a regular meal?

Unless, the girl didn’t consume it during a normal meal, but during a special one.

The driver took a deep breath.

Although he didn’t know exactly what the girl had eaten, he assumed it must have something to do with the decadence and corruption of high society.

Glancing again at Hu Lianglu’s face through the rearview mirror, the driver sighed inwardly at how such a pure, lovely, and delicate girl had fallen into the abyss of high society.

After his sigh, he reminded himself that he was merely an emotionless driver. Life was hard, and no one was simple. Even he himself bore heavy burdens and had no time to meddle in others’ affairs.

Parking the car at the location An Siyu specified, the driver got out and opened the back door.

An Siyu pulled Hu Lianglu out and said to the driver, “You can go back now.”

“Yes.” The driver got into the car and drove back to the villa.

Xia Yu then led Hu Lianglu into her house.

“Go lie down on the bed,” Xia Yu told her.

“Don’t butt in!” Though Hu Lianglu verbally resisted, her affection toward An Siyu was steadily increasing.

Xia Yu, sensing this through telepathy, scoffed and gently laid Hu Lianglu onto the bed.

At this moment, Hu Lianglu’s affection level had probably reached that of a close friend, though still slightly lower than Feng Yujia and Feng Yumo.

Once it reached Feng Yujia and Feng Yumo’s level, she could probably be used like a loyal dog.

After lying down, Hu Lianglu’s affection stopped increasing. Xia Yu searched for new ways to boost it and brought her a cup of hot water from the kitchen.

Hu Lianglu refused to drink.

“Do you want me to pinch your nose and pour it down your throat, or will you drink it yourself? You choose!” Xia Yu threatened.

Under Xia Yu’s pressure, Hu Lianglu took the cup and drank the water.

Xia Yu sensed that the stagnant affection had slightly increased again.

After Hu Lianglu finished the empty cup, Xia Yu poured another cup of hot water.

Hu Lianglu drank it again, and the affection increased a little more.

This repeated a couple more times, until Hu Lianglu couldn’t drink anymore.

Regretfully giving up on the hot water method, Xia Yu had Hu Lianglu lie down quietly and went to the kitchen.

In the kitchen trash bin, he found the instant noodle package he had cooked for Hu Lianglu the previous day.

Scanning the package, Xia Yu found a line of text.

Expiration Date: … October 3rd.

Today was October 30th, meaning it had already expired by nearly a month. No wonder there was a layer of dust on it when he found it yesterday.

It wasn’t entirely his fault. Who would have thought that instant noodles could go bad too?

They had a shelf life measured in years!

Folding up the bag, Xia Yu burned it with a lighter, successfully destroying the evidence.

Returning to the bedroom, he continued to care for Hu Lianglu.

After confirming that he had maxed out the affection he could gain that day, he left Hu Lianglu’s place, returned An Siyu’s body to the villa, and then returned to his own body.

For the next five days, he continued using An Siyao’s body to boost Hu Lianglu’s affection daily, until the sixth day.

A telepathic warning of danger reached him. The danger was distant, already occurred, but not directed at him.

First, he went to You Xue’s room to confirm the girl was safe. Then, he messaged An Siyao and Xu Youxiang on QQ, and they were also fine.

That left only Tina and Brown Bear.

He asked An Siyao to send someone to check on Tina and logged into Brown Bear’s body.

His intuition told him that the problem was likely with Brown Bear.

His intuition was correct—Brown Bear was indeed facing a crisis.

Brown Bear was surrounded by three tigers—probably a mother tiger and her two immature sons.

By itself, this wouldn’t be a crisis. Brown Bear was also at the top of the food chain, and aside from adult male tigers, he wasn’t afraid of other tigers, even three of them.

But this wasn’t just about him. There was also the girl named Meimei wearing a mask and her bodyguard Ah Wei.

The three tigers’ target wasn’t Brown Bear—it was them.
