Chapter 323: The Sumo Wrestler Who Accidentally Entered the Boxing Ring

A young girl named Meimei hid behind Xiong Yu. A bodyguard named Awei unbuttoned his coat, making his figure appear larger to intimidate the three tigers standing before him.

At the same time, he held a handgun in his hand.

Pointing the gun, Awei fired a shot at the ground beside the tigers. The sound startled two of the younger tigers, causing them to retreat hastily, but the tigress remained completely calm and stayed in place.

The two young tigers soon returned and continued watching the two humans warily.

If it weren’t for Xiong Yu being there, the tigers would have attacked immediately.

Awei dared not fire again. His pistol only held seven bullets, one had already been fired, and another had been shot earlier when they first encountered the tigers. Now only five remained, while there were still three tigers.

Five bullets would be difficult even against three well-trained humans, let alone three tigers.

As felines, tigers had tremendous explosive power and speed. Once they launched an attack, Awei felt he would only have time to fire one shot.

Yet he also dared not strike first. Even if he were extremely lucky and killed one tiger, the remaining two would tear him apart.

At this moment, the tigers were still observing. It would be foolish for him to initiate the battle.

He could only hope that Xiong Yu’s intimidation tactics would prove effective.

Xiong Yu sensed that the three tigers wouldn’t give up easily.

Tigers hunting bears, while rare, was not unheard of. Moreover, these three tigers weren’t aiming to attack the bear—they wanted to steal his prey.

Meimei and Awei were the prey in the eyes of the three tigers.

Xiong Yu continued observing the tigers.

There was a significant difference in size between the male and female tigers. A male tiger could engage a brown bear head-on in battle, and with an ambush, even had a decent chance of killing one. However, the female tiger was simply not capable.

The other two young males, although approaching the size of the tigress, were still not strong enough.

It was like how no matter how many eggs you throw, they can never crack a stone.

The difference in strength could not be compensated by numbers.

If it were only Xiong Yu, he would definitely step forward and fight the three tigers. But the two humans beside him made the situation more dangerous.

Xiong Yu stood upright, facing the tigers.

The main method tigers used to kill prey was to bite the back of the neck. Even when hunting larger prey, they employed the same technique.

In other words, as long as the bear stood upright, it would be difficult for the tigers to attack.

Moreover, standing up also intimidated the tigers, as it made the bear appear larger.

The three tigers circled around Xiong Yu, unwilling to attack yet unwilling to leave.

It was already early November, and these tigers had probably failed to find prey, so they refused to give up.

Understanding this, Xiong Yu decided to make the first move.

He exchanged a meaningful glance with Awei beside him.

Awei frowned. What was wrong with the bear winking at him? Was it trying to flirt?

Xiong Yu stepped forward and patted Awei, then pointed his bear paw toward the tigress in the center. He first swung his paw once, then mimed shooting a gun.

He looked at Awei: Do you understand?

Awei nodded: Got it, got it!

The three tigers, although intelligent, were still unable to guess what the human and bear were communicating. They continued watching cautiously.

Xiong Yu lifted Meimei and had her climb onto a nearby tree, then turned to Awei.

Awei began aiming.

As Xiong Yu swung his paw downward, the gunshot from Awei’s pistol rang out immediately.

Three bullets struck the tigress. One hit her face, one hit her front leg, and one missed. The pain did not make her retreat—in fact, it ignited her fighting spirit. She roared loudly and charged toward Xiong Yu and Awei.

Then she was kicked aside by a flying kick from Xiong Yu.

The two young tigers that rushed forward were stunned, and even Awei was taken aback.

Since when did bears know how to perform flying kicks?

Taking advantage of their hesitation, Xiong Yu wanted to pursue, but tigers, being felines, were extremely agile. They dodged Xiong Yu and, ignoring the tigress, turned their attention to Awei.

However, Awei had already climbed up the tree.

With enough running start, tigers could easily climb trees under ten meters. Unfortunately, the trees in the forest were usually only four or five meters tall.

Awei, up in the tree, prayed that Xiong Yu would show his might and drive the tigers away. Otherwise, they would surely be eaten.

The two young tigers quickly divided their tasks. One stayed behind to engage Xiong Yu, while the other assessed the distance between Awei and Meimei. Deciding against going after Meimei, who was on a tree near Xiong Yu, it ran toward Awei.

Awei quickly fired shots at the approaching tiger to slow it down.

Xiong Yu shot Awei an annoyed look. If both Awei and Meimei had climbed the same tree, he could guard beneath it and face off against the three tigers at once. Now, with two trees, he had more work to do.

Facing the young tiger that had also risen to its feet, ready to fight, Xiong Yu threw a left hook.

The tiger staggered back a couple of steps, regained balance on all fours, and stood again—only to be met with a low kick from Xiong Yu to its groin.

Struck below the belt, the tiger fell to the ground. Although Xiong Yu also fell over due to his short bear legs, he got up faster because he had planned the fall.

He then stepped forward, leaped into the air, and performed a devastating bear hug, slamming down onto the tiger’s head.

Dazed, the tiger was greeted with two more swipes from Xiong Yu’s claws, completely removing it from the fight.

Lying on the ground, watching Xiong Yu attack its sibling, the tiger felt a deep confusion.

Logically, they should be wrestling like sumo wrestlers, biting and grappling for round after round. Why was this bear using boxing techniques?

What kind of move was a flying kick? A left hook? A low kick? And what in the world was that bear-hug slam? Boxing was bad enough, but now he was even using underhanded tactics! Why wasn’t he just using his claws and teeth like normal?

The tiger felt a deep sadness. It felt like a sumo wrestler who had accidentally entered a boxing ring—especially a heavyweight division.

Its vision blurred.

Before losing consciousness completely, it saw its sibling, also defeated by Xiong Yu.

Xiong Yu rushed toward the other young tiger without hesitation. In one swift motion, he lunged forward, spun around with the tiger, then wrapped his left arm around its neck, grabbed his left paw with his right, and pulled hard.

This move, known as a rear naked choke, was commonly seen in combat sports. When performed face-to-face like Xiong Yu was doing, it was often called a guillotine choke.

The technique worked by applying pressure to the carotid sinus area, causing carotid sinus syncope or vasovagal syncope.

In theory, this move was effective against most mammals with a neck.

Under Xiong Yu’s grip, the tiger’s resistance weakened until it finally stopped moving.

Xiong Yu held the pressure for another minute before releasing the tiger.

Thud—

The tiger’s limp body collapsed to the ground.

Awei, watching from the tree, stared in shock.
