Chapter 230: Counterattack

Qian Ye watched the two invisible blades of demonic energy crossing before him, and without a second thought, he crashed into them. In the instant the blades neared, a flash of crimson-golden flame burst from his body, destroying the sharpness of the demonic blades. The remaining demonic energy was then blocked by his powerful physique.

After breaking through the demonic blade blockade, an open space lay ahead. But as Qian Ye moved, seven more invisible demonic blades appeared, firmly sealing his path. Without hesitation, Qian Ye flashed through the void and reappeared behind the seven blades. However, he abruptly halted and backflipped, passing through the demonic blade blockade.

The Succubus appeared in front of Qian Ye, once again blocking his way.

Qian Ye’s face remained calm as he maneuvered within the ever-changing battlefield, pondering how the Succubus could continuously predict his movements and keep track of his whereabouts.

Void Flash, this divine skill, reached its peak in Andua’s hands. For a long time, it was only Luo Bingfeng who could capture Qian Ye’s traces. But why could the Succubus also anticipate his moves? She couldn’t possibly be stronger than Luo Bingfeng.

As he pondered, Qian Ye suddenly looked up at the sky. The sky now seemed slightly dimmer than his memory. Qian Ye remembered that when the Succubus arrived, the sky had momentarily darkened and then returned to normal. But now, even though the sky had brightened, it was still faintly darker than it should be. It was a minuscule difference, almost negligible, but it was there.

Domain!

Qian Ye realized that he had been inside the Succubus’s domain all along, which allowed her to lock onto his position the moment he emerged from the void. This domain also accelerated her movements, allowing her to almost match the speed of Qian Ye’s Void Flash over short distances.

Qian Ye looked around and saw that the sky, as far as his eyes could see, was covered with a faint, barely visible darkness, like a dark dome enveloping everyone. The vastness of the Succubus’s domain was truly astonishing.

However, the larger the domain, the more obvious its flaws. The Succubus’s domain was extremely secretive, almost evading even Qian Ye’s detection. Edward, Aden, and the other blood nobles were completely unaware they were within it. Mu Cen and the other vampire powerhouses were oblivious, and Anwen seemed lost in calculations, perhaps unaware of the change in the environment.

Secrecy itself was a form of defense, but once exposed, it became a weakness.

Several strategies flashed through Qian Ye’s mind, each one quickly dismissed. His current exhaustion meant he couldn’t last much longer. Even if he broke the Succubus’s domain, he needed to plan for the aftermath, at least ensuring he had the strength to escape if necessary.

Moreover, leaving like this wasn’t Qian Ye’s style.

Suddenly, Qian Ye changed direction, heading straight for the Well of Stars. He now held a primary force gun, the array on the gun body lighting up as it charged, ready to fire.

Though this move was unexpected, the Succubus reacted swiftly, pursuing him and closing the distance. Ahead, a vampiric marquis guarded the well. Seeing Qian Ye’s movement, Edward also flew from the side, timing and distance suggesting he would intercept Qian Ye just before he reached the well.

Edward’s eyes held a hint of mockery. To him, Qian Ye’s seventh-tier gun, though finely crafted and ethereal, with a well-arranged primary force array, met the standard of a top-tier seventh-tier weapon. But for Edward, accustomed to the finest guns, even an eighth-tier treasure wouldn’t impress him.

The weapons Qian Ye had previously used, whether Zang Xin or Dong Yue, were both formidable enough to intimidate Edward, especially Zang Xin, which could instill fear without firing a shot. Now, using a seventh-tier gun in such a situation, Edward couldn’t help but sneer. Who was he trying to scare?

Facing Qian Ye, Edward did not slow down, determined to intercept. The possibility of attracting dangerous beasts didn’t concern him. With the young generation of the Evernight gathering here, their combined strength was like an army, and with the Succubus commanding, what beast could they not handle?

Qian Ye did not stop, holding the gun in one hand, his wings of primal force spreading, the gun also glowing with a tinge of black. After being enhanced by the Wings of Primal Origin, the gun’s power surged, reaching the eighth tier!

Edward was shocked, and Qian Ye’s Feng Yan Leng roared!

The gun was not aimed at Edward, the Succubus, or the vampiric marquis ahead. Instead, it targeted the mouth of the Well of Stars!

Everyone was stunned, unsure of Qian Ye’s intent. The well’s mouth was just a circle of stone, and shooting it would do little more than chip off some debris. Oh, and maybe disturb the spider demons below, but that was pointless.

Could Qian Ye think that a seventh-tier gun could destroy the Well of Stars? Even if all the top ten guns were here, they couldn’t destroy it.

The vampiric marquis also thought so and sidestepped, avoiding the shot. If the shot missed, Qian Ye would face Edward’s interception, and the Succubus was already dangerously close. If Edward could delay Qian Ye even briefly, the Succubus would arrive, trapping Qian Ye between them.

Edward knew the key to the situation. He stepped forward, occupying a critical position, blocking Qian Ye’s path. But just as he was about to act, he saw Qian Ye’s eyes filled with killing intent and determination, causing him to pause!

Now cornered, Qian Ye seemed hesitant to use Void Flash. Being blocked by Edward would leave him with no escape. But everyone knew Qian Ye had more tricks up his sleeve. In the battle of Unfallen City, he had put the Succubus to sleep again with three shots of the Primal Gun. Now, with his enhanced strength, who dared say he couldn’t unleash a triple shot of the Primal Gun?

If three Primal Shots hit Edward, even the proud blood son would surely be defeated.

This thought flashed through Edward’s mind, slowing his actions. This delay allowed the Succubus to catch up, and they could attack together, rather than Edward alone. The slight delay was not critical and wouldn’t allow Qian Ye to escape.

As he thought this, a strange sensation came over him, as if the sky had brightened, or a spider web on his clothes had been lifted. Despite the lightness, there was a sense of freedom.

Edward immediately became alert and turned to see the Succubus’s speed, which was like smoke and fire, suddenly slow. His blood core skipped a beat.

Qian Ye laughed, tossing a metal cylinder, soaring into the air, and appearing at the other end of the Well of Stars, disappearing in an instant.

The Succubus appeared, stopping and standing opposite Edward, watching the metal cylinder fall slowly from the sky, not pursuing Qian Ye further.

No one knew what she was thinking.

Inside the Well of Stars, Luo Le was sweating, his massive body trembling. Rocks had fallen from the well’s mouth, hitting him. He wasn’t afraid of the damage, but the shock was significant. The well was guarded by the Succubus, Anwen, Aden, and Edward, yet someone had attacked the well’s mouth?

In the well, Luo Le felt like a lamb to the slaughter.

He wasn’t truly afraid of death, but this death would be ignoble. The shock dispersed the starlight converging on the spider egg, softening it into a pale gray liquid. When the entire egg liquefied, it would become source blood, enhancing the spider demon’s bloodline. But the shock delayed the process.

Luo Le realized he had been too distracted. If he wanted to succeed, he needed to focus.

To give up or continue? The ruthless part of his bloodline won, and he bit his teeth, even blocking some of his senses. Only a few more minutes, and the source blood would be complete. His remaining strength was limited, and he needed to act quickly.

Just then, a deafening explosion rang out, even the deep well walls trembled.

Even with his senses partly blocked, Luo Le was jolted awake by the earth-shaking blast.

Fragments rained down, and the well’s mouth was blasted open. The fragments, originally part of the well, fell like rain, hitting Luo Le, even a desk-sized rock, causing him to sink.

Luo Le was devastated. The spider egg was rotating, expanding, and the starlight was dispersing, the source blood nearly complete, now destroyed.

Knowing he couldn’t recover, he ascended, braving the falling debris, eager to know what had happened above, despite the powerful guards.

The well’s mouth was in chaos.

Edward was covered in dust, his robe torn, small wounds all over. These were minor, but his purple-black aura was thinning, not easily restored. The vampiric marquis lay unconscious, Mu Cen checking his injuries and feeding him a drop of source blood.

The Succubus was gone, only shadows remaining. Anwen and Aden stood far away, surprised.

A large crater, nearly a hundred meters in diameter, marked the ground. The explosive power to create such a crater in the firm rock was terrifying.

Luo Le climbed out of the well, surveying the destruction. He looked at Anwen, Aden, and Edward, sneering, “The Demon and Blood Clans are truly powerful!”

Anwen looked embarrassed, Aden grim. Edward, in tattered clothes, remained expressionless.

After his sneer, Luo Le declared, “I need rest. You must guard yourselves for the next day.”

With that, he disappeared into the forest, not looking back.
