Chapter 650: The Army of Skeletons

The Broki Fortress of Zhen Shen Zhi Jian, located at the edge of the Jade City, was in a state of decay. Endless deserts surrounded it, and few players usually came here. The fortress stood alone.

Only a few scattered players walked along the streets of the fortress.

Several hours ago, Zhen Shen Zhi Jian had completely sealed off the fortress, not allowing any players outside the guild to enter. Anyone wishing to enter Broki Fortress had to undergo strict scrutiny.

Inside the guild headquarters’ meeting hall at the center of the fortress, a group of several hundred players stood nervously, gazing at Qin Han at the front of the hall and the man in black beside him.

They had all arrived here following orders from Shen Jian Wushuang, the leader of Zhen Shen Zhi Jian. This group could be considered the most loyal members of the guild. They followed Shen Jian Wushuang’s commands without hesitation, receiving salaries from the guild and obeying any orders he gave without question.

Qin Han glanced at the people before him, his gaze cold and emotionless.

Shen Jian Wushuang looked at Qin Han beside him and asked, “Brother Qin Han, this is a total of five hundred men, all elite warriors of Zhen Shen Zhi Jian.”

For some reason, Shen Jian Wushuang always felt a sense of fear when looking at Qin Han. The coldness in Qin Han’s eyes was terrifying. After spending time together recently, Shen Jian Wushuang had gradually come to understand Qin Han’s nature. Although Qin Han usually appeared gentle and refined, when necessary, he could instantly transform into a merciless killer.

It was said that the Mone Corporation dominated South America, eliminating nearly all their competitors through various means. There was no doubt that Qin Han’s hands were stained with blood.

Precisely because of this fear, Shen Jian Wushuang dared not defy Qin Han. He could imagine what fate awaited him if he angered Qin Han.

“Alright, begin,” Qin Han said indifferently.

As soon as Qin Han finished speaking, the man in black beside him let out a strange, sharp, and chilling laugh, making everyone feel uneasy.

The players below could not see his face, as it was hidden beneath the hood. The only visible part was his right hand, which was entirely skeletal with some decaying flesh clinging to it. In his hand, he held a black bone staff. Atop the staff was a small skull, burning with red flames.

With a wave of his staff, suddenly, bone spikes two to three yards high erupted from the ground where the players stood, instantly impaling their bodies. Suspended midair, the players screamed in agony as blood splattered everywhere, turning the entire hall into a scene resembling hell.

Shen Jian Wushuang’s face changed upon witnessing this scene, his heart filled with dread. Looking at Qin Han, he found the latter’s expression unchanged, as if this were an everyday occurrence.

What a terrifying person! Shen Jian Wushuang silently averted his gaze.

The bodies of the five hundred players hung in the air, pierced by white bone spikes, streams of dark red blood flowing down the spikes.

Subsequently, each player’s corpse underwent a transformation. One skeleton after another rose from the corpses. These skeletons were completely white, wielding various weapons—staffs, axes, greatswords—and of different classes. They were level 100 monsters, and among the five hundred skeletons, one was a level 100 elite.

In the following days, wave after wave of players from Zhen Shen Zhi Jian, Light and Darkness Empire, and other major guilds were sent to Broki Fortress. They were all killed and transformed into skeletons.

If a player became a skeleton, they could only resurrect after their skeletal form was defeated. Otherwise, they would remain as skeletons, bound to the necromancer’s control until death. Generally, players who transformed into skeletons and then resurrected would lose two to five levels and suffer a long period of weakness. Under normal circumstances, players would not willingly undergo such a process. However, due to Qin Han’s wealth and power, the majority of people had no choice but to obey his commands.

Broki Fortress gathered an increasing number of skeletons, eventually reaching a total of 30,000. Their activity was no longer confined to Broki Fortress, gradually expanding outward.

Under Qin Han’s command, these skeletons captured three NPC villages, transforming the NPCs inside into skeletons.

The skeleton army grew increasingly massive. Since Qin Han acted very cautiously, this news had not yet spread. Many players knew of skeleton activity near Broki Fortress, but they assumed it was just normal monster spawns, never imagining that a player was behind all this. Some players who were too slow were killed by the skeletons and became part of the skeletal army, remaining confused and unaware of what had happened in the game.

Everything remained peaceful, with no signs of impending disaster.

Nie Yan instructed Guo Huai to closely monitor all regions, especially undead creatures, and to report any abnormalities immediately.

The following day, the Cow Tribe continued their relentless assault on the various strongholds of Cortez City using catapults. An increasing number of guilds surrendered to the Cow Tribe, while the few remaining guilds found themselves powerless to resist, forced into desperate last stands. Many of these guilds had received strict orders from Qin Han to fight to the death, leaving them no option but to engage in battle. However, their strength paled in comparison to that of the Cow Tribe. Under the unyielding barrage of the catapults, all their fortresses were reduced to rubble.

Corte City became a wasteland. More than ten guilds, along with their members, teleported to Jade City to seek refuge under True God’s Blade.

Based in Cort City, the Cow Tribe established a series of fortresses, linking Nisod City, Cort City, and Carol City into a unified network. Nie Yan built a comprehensive defense system across this territory. Cort City had numerous vacant fortresses that could have originally been allocated to the War God Tribe and Longyue Corporation for development. However, sensing potential future threats, Nie Yan chose not to entrust these fortresses to Longyue Corporation or the Tianxia Group for the development of credit point commercial zones.

Without a doubt, after capturing the city of Corte, the Cow Tribe entered a new phase of rest and consolidation, first focusing on reinforcing their existing gains.

The Mone Corporation had still not made any counterattacks, which left Nie Yan filled with constant suspicion and concern.

What excited Nie Yan somewhat was that, after a long time and using a large amount of rare metal materials, he had finally completed the transformation of the Headless Rider Doro’s cavalry crossbow, presenting before him a brand new cavalry crossbow.
