Chapter 879: New Plan

The Ghost Dragon’s previous two skills, including Soul Possession and Ghost Roar, were both extremely useful. It was unknown what skills it would gain after promotion, but they were likely to be equally impressive. Although the Ghost Dragon’s defense and physical attack were relatively weak, these two skills made it far more valuable than Dark-winged Dragons of the same level.

Nie Yan patiently observed and tracked the Purple-eyed Earth Dragon nearby. After three days, he gained a general understanding of the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons’ lifestyle. He had some contact with one of them, and found these creatures were absurdly powerful, proficient in lightning, earth, and psychic magic, making their combat power extremely formidable.

He wanted to sneak deep into the dragon’s lair, which might involve life-and-death risks. Nie Yan wondered how the person from his past managed to accomplish it.

Silver Night, Su Yue, and others were responsible for assisting Nie Yan, occasionally leveling up nearby, never straying far.

A level 200 mutated lord, Nie Yan couldn’t help but frown. He was nowhere near strong enough to handle such a level of boss, let alone seven of them!

Silver Night, Su Yue, and others cooperated to clear out a level 160 elite War Wolf. Su Yue looked into the distance where Nie Yan was standing under a tree, deep in thought. He could only see Nie Yan’s back.

“Chief, it’s been three days and we haven’t made much progress. Do you think Boss Nie can figure out a way to infiltrate?”

“It’s hard to say, but these three days haven’t been entirely fruitless,” Silver Night replied, wondering what method Nie Yan was planning to use to sneak into the lair. After all, these were level 200 mutated lords, seven of them! Was Nie Yan confident about his plan or still clueless?

Staying here indefinitely wasn’t a solution either!

Silver Night and Su Yue, along with others, also racked their brains trying to help Nie Yan find a way to infiltrate. The team chat fell into a long silence. Not long after, they saw one of the huge purple dragons flapping its wings from the lair, flying eastward toward Fate Valley.

“Su Yue, keep an eye on it!” Nie Yan issued instructions in the team chat. Whenever any Purple-eyed Earth Dragon left the lair, he would send a thief to follow it closely, monitoring their movements and departure times for statistical analysis.

Over these three days, Nie Yan had recorded the living patterns of the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons. Every day, for about two hours, most of the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons would leave to forage, leaving only three inside the lair, making it the best time to infiltrate.

If there was no other option, he would have to take a risk!

As Nie Yan was weighing the pros and cons, he received a message from Su Yue: a Purple-eyed Earth Dragon was currently at a spring in the eastern part of Fate Valley, drinking water, and heading back.

“Silver, how many times do Purple-eyed Earth Dragons drink water on average per day?” Nie Yan asked Silver Night.

“Report to Boss Nie, according to the information collected over the past few days, they drink water once a day on average, lasting about twenty minutes. However, based on my observations, the same Purple-eyed Earth Dragon has been going out to drink water these days,” Silver Night replied.

“The same Purple-eyed Earth Dragon?” Nie Yan furrowed his brow. A sudden thought crossed his mind, “Do all Purple-eyed Earth Dragons drink water at the same location?”

“Yes, currently, all observed Purple-eyed Earth Dragons drink water at that spring,” Silver Night nodded. After being questioned by Nie Yan, he immediately speculated, could Boss Nie be planning to ambush the Purple-eyed Earth Dragon there? Thinking further, he dismissed the idea, as these Purple-eyed Earth Dragons were level 200 mutated lords. Even if the elite team from Ox Tribe came, they wouldn’t be able to handle such powerful creatures.

“Take me to see it!” Nie Yan immediately said.

“You all stay here and keep watch. I’ll take Boss Nie to check it out,” Silver Night told the group of thieves.

“Understood!” The thieves replied in unison.

The two figures swiftly moved through the jungle. Nie Yan and Silver Night headed eastward toward Fate Valley.

After about ten minutes, they passed through a dense jungle area and entered an open plain. Continuing forward, between the flat grasslands, there was a small pond, roughly 5×5 yards in size. Bubbling spring water continuously gushed upward, and from the pond, occasional bursts of steam rose. The spring water came from deep within the earth, and the steam carried a strong smell of sulfur, constantly seeping into the surrounding dry soil.

“Is this the place?” Nie Yan asked, looking around.

“Yes,” Silver Night nodded.

“Are there any other drinking spots for the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons?”

“There shouldn’t be. Over the past few days, we’ve been monitoring every move of the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons. Other than this location, we haven’t found any other places where they drink water,” Silver Night replied confidently. Before Nie Yan arrived, they had observed the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons for many days, so they were very clear about the situation.

Gazing at the small pond, an intriguing idea suddenly occurred to Nie Yan. He immediately abandoned his previous notion of sneaking into the dragon’s lair at great risk. A much better plan had just dawned on him.

Nie Yan immediately called Bird No Egg Left.

“Boss, what can I do for you?” Bird No Egg Left asked.

“You go and ask Old Liu about the effectiveness of the powerful hallucinogenic potion. Will it work on level 200 mutated lords?” Nie Yan asked. Since the Purple-eyed Earth Dragons drank water here, maybe he could use the potion to incapacitate them, making them easier to handle.

“Level 200 mutated lords?” Bird No Egg Left was startled. “Currently, no potion can produce any effect on level 200 mutated lords.”

Hearing Bird No Egg Left’s words, Nie Yan felt slightly disappointed. It seemed this method wasn’t feasible.

Bird No Egg Left hesitated for a moment and continued, “But it’s not entirely impossible. Our guild has many grandmaster potion makers, especially Low-key Nan Nan. His potion-making skills are beyond conventional understanding. They might have a solution.”

“I need a potion that, when consumed by a level 200 mutated lord, can cause hallucinations, coma, or paralysis. Any one of these effects would suffice,” Nie Yan said.

“Boss, hold on for a moment. I’ll discuss with them whether such a potion is feasible. I’ll give you a reply in five minutes,” Bird No Egg Left said.

“Okay,” Nie Yan replied. The Starry Sky Pharmacy boasted numerous high-level potion makers, including exceptionally talented individuals. Perhaps they could concoct a potion with effects similar to the powerful hallucinogenic potion, but even more potent.

After ending the call, Nie Yan patiently waited, hoping Bird No Egg Left and his team could find a solution. If not, this method would have to be abandoned.

At the headquarters of the Starry Sky Pharmacy, on the top floor of the sixteen-story building, a meeting began. All grandmaster potion makers stopped their current work and gathered together.

“Old Liu, will your powerful hallucinogenic potion work on level 200 mutated lords?” Bird No Egg Left looked at an old, thin man wearing a potion maker’s robe beside him and asked. This was the potion maker who had provided Nie Yan with the powerful hallucinogenic potion.

Old Liu, the potion maker, remained silent for half a moment, helplessly smiled, and shook his head. “Impossible! They are level 200 mutated lords!”

“Does anyone have a good idea? Any method that can work on level 200 mutated lords, whether it causes hallucinations, coma, or paralysis, is acceptable,” Bird No Egg Left looked at everyone.

The group of grandmaster potion makers looked worried. They had not yet created any potion that could affect level 200 mutated lords. Level 200 was almost approaching the legendary level, which they had never reached.

Old Liu thought for a moment and said, “The secret to making a powerful hallucinogenic potion is concentration. The first hallucinogenic potion I made was very weak and had a short duration. However, since the production cost was very low, I concentrated one hundred bottles of the hallucinogenic potion and eventually made a very powerful concentrated hallucinogenic potion. If a level 200 mutated lord could drink the equivalent of five thousand bottles of concentrated hallucinogenic potion, it might cause hallucinations for about ten to twenty seconds.”

“The effect of the hallucinogenic potion is too weak. We also need to consider the resistance of the level 200 mutated lord to hallucinogenic toxins. If that level 200 mutated lord has a very high resistance to hallucinogenic toxins, even giving it five thousand bottles of hallucinogenic potion might not work,” Low-key Nan Nan interjected from the side.

“The hallucinogenic potion’s effect is weak. The strongest among toxin effects is the potion that causes coma. If we use the concentration method, can we make a similar potion?” Bird No Egg Left looked at Low-key Nan Nan, this was his idea, so he sought Low-key Nan Nan’s opinion.

“Theoretically, it should be possible, but we still need to consider what kind of monster it is and how strong its resistance to coma-inducing toxins is,” Low-key Nan Nan considered for a while and said. “It would be best to add my toxin ratio theory, using many types of coma-inducing toxins for ratio, strengthening the toxin. If it succeeds, we might be able to create another legendary potion.”

Low-key Nan Nan thought for a moment and continued to add, “It would be best if the boss could get some blood from that lord, even a little bit. We can analyze the monster’s resistance and weaknesses, and then formulate the toxin.”

“I’ll go and tell the boss right away,” Bird No Egg Left said.

Soon, Nie Yan received Bird No Egg Left’s reply. Although it was a bit troublesome, it was much better than having no solution at all. As for the Purple-eyed Earth Dragon’s blood, it was relatively easy to obtain. Nie Yan could get it in no time.

“How long does it take to make such a potion?” Nie Yan asked.

“If one person does it, it will take at least two months. If all the grandmaster potion makers work together, we can research it out in a maximum of one week. We need to get the blood first to determine whether it will work,” Bird No Egg Left replied.

This was much faster than Nie Yan had imagined!

“I’ll go and get the Purple-eyed Earth Dragon’s blood. I’ll have someone send it to you in half an hour,” Nie Yan said. He had just received news that a Purple-eyed Earth Dragon had flown southward toward the southern part of Fate Valley!
