Chapter 186: Yun Sisi (1)

Yun Qingxue stood alone in front of the thatched cottage, trying hard to recall the method to enter the formation. She felt somewhat unsure, as most of the techniques her master had taught her had slipped her mind by yesterday.

She looked up at the roof of the cottage. Mo Changxing had told her that their master hadn’t set up any formations there.

But she knew the hidden depths within this seemingly small, dilapidated hut. Inside, the space stretched nearly ten stories high and as wide as a football field.

Even if there were no traps on the roof, jumping down from such a height would be…

Suddenly, she smacked her forehead, chiding herself for being foolish.

Now that she had magic power, all she needed was to master a wind-riding spell. Then, entering the cottage from the roof wouldn’t be a problem—she wouldn’t have to worry about falling!

Recalling the incantation for wind-riding she had memorized before, Yun Qingxue steadied her breathing, channeled the magic within her, and silently recited the spell.

Her body slowly lifted into the air.

Since it was her first time using the wind-riding spell, she wasn’t very familiar with it, so her ascent was slow. But eventually, she landed steadily on the roof of the cottage.

She looked down at the section of the roof beneath her feet.

She had no idea how Mo Changxing had managed to enter twice yesterday to find her. There wasn’t a single trace—the roof was perfectly intact, with no entrance in sight.

Wall—Passing—Spell!

The name of a spell suddenly flashed in Yun Qingxue’s mind.

If she used the Wall-Passing Spell, she could enter without damaging anything!

But…

Thinking back to the time she had tested the spell among humans and ended up stuck halfway through a wall…

She shuddered at the memory. Yet, if she didn’t use the spell, would she really have to tear a hole in the roof to get in?

Use it?

Or not?

Standing on the roof, Yun Qingxue hesitated as the sun climbed higher and the morning breeze brushed past her. After a brief moment of deliberation, she made up her mind.

She would use the Wall-Passing Spell! All difficulties were just paper tigers!

Besides, things were different now. She had suddenly gained two thousand years of cultivation, and though she hadn’t fully assimilated it yet, the portion she had should be enough to cast the spell successfully.

Channeling her magic and silently reciting the incantation, Yun Qingxue leaped—only for her feet to remain firmly planted on the roof.

What was going on?

Frowning in confusion, she stared at her feet.

Was it because she was still inexperienced with her newfound magic that the spell occasionally failed?

She tried again, reciting the incantation once more.

Still no success.

Unwilling to give up, she attempted it several more times—each ending in failure.

Defeated, Yun Qingxue glared at the roof beneath her.

Seriously… Would she really have to tear open a hole to get inside?

Frustrated, she stomped her foot hard on the thatched roof—only to suddenly lose her balance and plummet downward.

What the—?! Since when did the Wall-Passing Spell have a delayed effect?!

Her body fell rapidly, but she quickly activated the wind-riding spell and landed safely inside the cottage.

Yesterday, she had read a book about cultivation ranks in the Xuanling Continent. Today, she wasn’t in the mood for that kind of material.

Now that she had magic power, she wanted to focus on books about cultivation and spells. But with so many books here, she’d have to search slowly.

“Disciple.”

Just as Yun Qingxue was flipping through the shelves for books on cultivation and spells, the clear voice of Master Ziqu Shengjun suddenly rang out.

She turned and saw him flying toward her.

“Master.” She immediately stopped her search and greeted him respectfully.

Ziqu Shengjun landed gracefully before her, his sword-like brows slightly furrowed.

“One must never rush in cultivation,” he said slowly. “The books here are arranged in a specific order. You should start from the bottom and work your way up systematically.”

“Forgive me, Master. I was too impatient,” Yun Qingxue bowed her head in apology.

Ziqu Shengjun studied her with a meaningful gaze. “Very well. Since you’re eager to study cultivation-related books, I’ll find a couple for you.”

With that, he shot upward like lightning. In the blink of an eye, he returned with two books in hand.

Handing them to her, he said, “One is a foundational cultivation manual, and the other contains basic offensive spells. Promise me you’ll memorize these before continuing your studies from the bottom shelf, step by step. Your foundation is unstable—you must not rush.”

“Yes, Master. Qingxue understands.” She accepted the books with both hands.

The morning breeze rustled the leaves of the wutong tree, stirring the robes of the two figures standing beneath it. The air between them felt tense, almost suffocating.

“I hope Senior Brother will look after me in the future.” Jin Lin smiled brilliantly, like the morning sun, but his eyes held a challenge as he gazed at Mo Changxing.

“I wouldn’t dare claim to ‘look after’ you,” Mo Changxing replied, raising an eyebrow. “But as they say, every kingdom has its laws, and every family its rules. If anyone dares to break the rules of Luoyun Mountain, I’ll treat them all the same—reward and punishment will be clear!”

Jin Lin smirked, mirroring Mo Changxing’s expression. “Rest assured, Senior Brother. I won’t give anyone a reason to trouble me.”

“Is that so?” Mo Changxing’s eyes gleamed with a mischievous light as a sly grin spread across his face.

The air between them crackled with hostility.

Suddenly, a silver-gray figure streaked through the sky like a meteor, landing swiftly before Mo Changxing.

“Greetings, Young Master.” Yue Jian knelt on one knee, bowing respectfully.

Mo Changxing waved a hand, and Yue Jian stood.

“Young Master, Miss Sisi has arrived at the foot of Luoyun Mountain!”
