Chapter 229: Battling the Black Python 2

Taking in the scene before her, despite having mentally prepared herself, Yun Qingxue couldn’t help but gasp in shock…

The space was densely packed with over twenty pitch-black pythons coiled menacingly.

Under the glow of the night pearls, their eyes shimmered with eerie, cold, and sinister light.

At that moment, two giant pythons were relentlessly attempting to constrict her!

Yun Qingxue swiftly dodged the coordinated attacks of the two pythons, her heart tightening.

While she could handle these two with relative ease—even capable of eliminating them—the real problem was that the cave wasn’t home to just these two. There was an entire group of them!

A whole group! Over twenty!

One or two she could manage, but this many? If they all attacked at once, Yun Qingxue felt she might become their meal in minutes—and there wouldn’t even be enough to go around!

“Little girl! You see now—this is the territory of our Black Python Clan! If you surrender quietly, we’ll make your death quick and swallow you whole! But if you keep resisting, we’ll tear you apart piece by piece!”

The two pythons, frustrated that their attacks kept missing, grew furious. One of them hissed in a grating voice, its tone dripping with malice.

Yun Qingxue sidestepped another attempt to ensnare her and smirked, feigning distress. “You want to eat me?”

“Yes!” The two pythons didn’t bother hiding their greed.

Yun Qingxue glanced around the cave and asked, “If you eat me, will you let my friends go?”

One of the pythons slyly rolled its eyes and replied, “Yes!”

Yun Qingxue deepened her act of distress. “But with so many of you, how will you divide just one me?”

The python hesitated, then snapped, “That’s none of your concern!”

“None of my concern?” Yun Qingxue raised an eyebrow. “If you don’t plan how to split the spoils, won’t you end up fighting among yourselves? Or… are you two planning to hog me all for yourselves?

As they say, ‘To the victor go the spoils.’ If you catch me, you can swallow me whole, and the others can’t complain—after all, only you two have been putting in the effort…”

She deliberately drew out her words. And with that, the previously motionless pythons began to stir, their massive bodies writhing with restless energy.

These intruders were rare prey—any one of them would boost their cultivation. They’d held back earlier, content to let their kin do the work and share the spoils later. But Yun Qingxue’s words made them realize: this was a case of too many wolves and too little meat!

Only three or four intruders, but over twenty pythons! Even if they caught them all, how would they divide the feast? If rewards were based on merit, those who didn’t lift a finger would get nothing!

The once-calm spectators grew restless. Who wouldn’t want a piece of such a prize? Especially the girl—her extraordinary spiritual energy was palpable the moment she entered. Devouring her would be a massive boost to their cultivation!

Hidden in the shadows, Daise bit her lip nervously. The sight of the cave filled with giant pythons was spine-chilling. Only two had been attacking her mistress earlier, but now, thanks to Yun Qingxue’s words, the entire group seemed ready to strike.

She didn’t understand. Fighting two pythons was already tough—why egg the rest on? If all twenty attacked at once, her mistress would be in grave danger!

Daise’s breathing grew ragged. In her arms, Liuli watched the battle with wide, curious eyes, while Adai, its beady eyes scanning the cave, plotted how to help its master.

The odds were overwhelming—it had to act.

*Hiss…* Adai flicked its tongue, its round black eyes shifting to an eerie hue.

Meanwhile, the two pythons attacking Yun Qingxue alternated between lashing their massive tails and lunging with gaping jaws. Yun Qingxue dodged while conjuring razor-sharp blades to hurl at them.

Yet, their scales were like impenetrable armor—so tough it was almost absurd! Her blades could slice through rock, but against the pythons, they didn’t even scratch a single scale!

“Is that all you’ve got?” The pythons sneered, emboldened by her ineffective attacks.

“Pathetic tricks! You’re not even tickling us!” one mocked.

“So, you think you’ll eat me soon?” Yun Qingxue dodged another strike, smiling.

“Eat you? No rush. Since you want to play, we’ll play!” one python taunted.

“Play? Or are you just figuring out how to swallow me whole in front of everyone? Look at your tactics—just snapping your jaws. If one of you ‘accidentally’ gulps me down, the others can’t even complain, can they?”

Her words sent the restless pythons into a frenzy.

“Right now, there are only four of us, but over twenty of you. Even if I surrender, how will you divide us? If I were you, I wouldn’t just watch—I’d fight to grab my share!” Yun Qingxue goaded the onlookers.

Even with the power gifted by her master, she hadn’t fully assimilated the two thousand years of cultivation. At her current peak Perception-stage strength, a prolonged fight against these mid-to-late Perception-stage pythons was untenable.

Outnumbered and outmatched, brute force wouldn’t work. Her only hope was to provoke the entire group into attacking—then execute her plan against these thick-skinned, vile creatures.
