Chapter 238: Yun Sisi’s Calculations

Yun Sisi stared at Yun Ye with disbelief in her eyes, utterly unable to comprehend why no one was on her side! Even her own father, the Demon Lord, was siding with that wretched Yun Qingxue and even wanted to punish her because of that woman!

“You may leave now!” Yun Ye waved his hand, concluding the matter. The injuries from his earlier battle with the Divine Emperor still lingered, and both he and the Purple Melody Sage needed time to recuperate.

“This junior takes his leave!” Jin Lin bowed respectfully to Yun Ye and the Purple Melody Sage before turning away. As he left, he cast a mocking glance at Yun Sisi and strode off without looking back.

Mo Changxing also turned and followed him out.

Yun Sisi stood rooted to the spot, glaring at Yun Ye with resentment before reluctantly stepping out.

The aftermath of the recent battle had left the surroundings of Luoyun Mountain in complete disarray.

Once outside the Purple Melody Sage’s residence, Yun Sisi could no longer contain her fury and lashed out with a spell.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk… They say beauty hides a viper’s heart, but some ugly creatures are not only hideous in appearance but also rotten to the core!” Jin Lin’s taunting voice rang out the moment Yun Sisi struck.

Yun Sisi whirled around, her eyes blazing with hatred as she glared at Jin Lin. She hadn’t forgotten how this man had repeatedly stopped Changxing from saving her last night, nearly costing her life!

What infuriated her even more was that when she had complained to her father earlier, he hadn’t punished this man at all…

She had planned to feign distress to win her father’s sympathy and then seize the opportunity to ask for permission to marry Changxing. But now, it was clear her father had no intention of avenging her!

The more Yun Sisi thought about it, the more her hatred festered. Staring at Jin Lin’s handsome face, she wished she could tear it to shreds…

Forcing herself to calm down, she asked coldly, “Do you like that Yun Qingxue?”

“None of your business!” Jin Lin sneered.

Yun Sisi retorted, “That woman tried to seduce my Changxing! How is that not my business?”

“Seduce?” Jin Lin arched an eyebrow and laughed coldly. “If anything, it’s your precious Changxing shamelessly clinging to my Xuexue!”

With that, Jin Lin turned to leave, unwilling to waste another moment on her.

“Wait!” Yun Sisi suddenly called out.

Despite her hatred for this man who had nearly killed her the night before, she took a deep breath and said, “You like Yun Qingxue, and I like Changxing. Why don’t we work together?”

Jin Lin didn’t even pause, as if he hadn’t heard her at all.

Suppressing her fury, Yun Sisi watched his retreating figure and continued, “Don’t you want that woman? I can help you get her! But you must promise me that once she’s yours, you’ll keep her away from Changxing!”

“How exactly do you plan to help me ‘get’ her?” Jin Lin finally stopped and turned, his eyes narrowing as he regarded her.

Seeing his reaction, Yun Sisi inwardly cursed him as a hypocrite but quickly replied, “Drug her! Once you’ve had your way with her, the Purple Melody Sage will have no choice but to marry her off to you!”

“Is that all?” Jin Lin raised an eyebrow.

Yun Sisi nodded. “It’s the best way. Once she’s defiled, she’ll have to marry you!”

Jin Lin studied her for a moment, his bright eyes sweeping over her before he suddenly laughed, his smile as radiant as spring sunlight.

Yun Sisi was momentarily dazed. Though she loathed to admit it, this man’s looks, while not as devastatingly handsome as Changxing’s, were still exceptional.

To let such a man marry Yun Qingxue would be letting that wretch off too easily! If she had her way, she’d have that woman defiled by some old, hideous monster instead—left to suffer a lifetime of misery, preferably disfigured beyond recognition!

“You’re truly disgusting,” Jin Lin said abruptly, his smile vanishing as he looked at her with undisguised revulsion.

Yun Sisi’s face darkened, but Jin Lin continued, “Why not try your vile tricks on Mo Changxing instead? I’m curious—if a repulsive creature like you forced yourself on him, would he grit his teeth and marry you out of sheer disgust?”

With a mocking laugh, Jin Lin strode away.

Furious, Yun Sisi unleashed another spell, sending a violent plume of dust into the air…

“Yun Qingxue! So everyone favors you, do they? I, Yun Sisi, swear to be your mortal enemy!”

Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to calm down. Then she remembered—tomorrow, her father would take her back to the Demon Realm. Her brow furrowed.

She couldn’t just obediently return. Once back, sneaking out again would be nearly impossible!

Moreover, if she left now, that woman would only grow bolder in seducing Changxing! Even if her father insisted on taking her back, she had to eliminate Yun Qingxue first!

But…

Something felt off. With all the commotion earlier, why hadn’t Yun Qingxue been seen at all?

Had that wretch been caught in the crossfire of the battle between the Purple Melody Sage, her father, and the Divine Emperor? Had she died in some forgotten corner?

And during the chaos, Changxing had only protected her. Didn’t that prove Yun Qingxue meant nothing to him? That she, Yun Sisi, was the one he truly cared for?

After all, they’d grown up together. Changxing was just cold by nature—deep down, he must love her!

The thought lifted her spirits slightly. Still, no matter what, she had to get rid of Yun Qingxue!

From the moment she’d first laid eyes on that woman, she’d despised her. So…

If Jin Lin refused to cooperate, she’d simply send the woman he loved straight to her grave!

A ruthless glint flashed in Yun Sisi’s eyes.

**The Illusory Realm of Yunhuang**

While Yun Qingxue was meditating to recover, A’Dai and Liu Li had devoured all but five or six of the over twenty Black Python inner cores in the cave.

Liu Li was fine, but A’Dai—already a slender little creature—had swollen to more than twice his original size from gorging on the cores.

When Yun Qingxue opened her eyes after her meditation, she was met with the sight of a bloated A’Dai and the remaining cores Liu Li had brought to her.

“Hiss—” A’Dai slithered toward her, his body wriggling weakly before collapsing motionless on the ground.

Alarmed, Yun Qingxue immediately picked him up. His once light-purple body had turned a sickly black. She shook him gently, but no matter what she did, he remained lifeless…

Could the Black Python cores have been poisoned?

Her heart sank, but something didn’t add up…
