Chapter 184: Ruins of Civilization

Hongning Base City, the global headquarters of the Limit Martial Arts Gym resembles an ancient colossal spaceship. On the adjacent landing pad, a deep blue triangular fighter slowly descends.

Inside the intelligent fighter.

“The Black God Suit cannot be used inside the ruins of that civilization, so it must be left here,” Luo Feng extends his right hand, and soon a black membrane gathers on it, forming a black glove. “It also needs to be released from control.”

Once the Black God Suit absorbs its master’s blood, it undergoes mutation, adapting to the master’s body in an unprecedented way, like a second skin. It can transform into countless forms and even hide beneath the skin. However, it has one drawback—once worn, it becomes extremely difficult to remove.

There are two ways to remove it: first, the master’s death.

Second, the master consciously forces the Black God Suit to expel the absorbed blood, causing it to automatically detach from the body.

“Now, I must make the Black God Suit detach from my body. Later, I will have to let it absorb blood again,” Luo Feng smiles helplessly.

Moments later, the black glove drops onto the seat of the intelligent fighter.

“Unit 1, store the Black God Suit properly,” Luo Feng then exits the intelligent fighter.

Inside the colossal spaceship-like structure, Luo Feng is immediately escorted to a lounge upon arrival. The spacious lounge contains dozens of seats.

There are already six people inside. Judging by their appearances, Luo Feng instantly identifies a couple as ethnic Chinese, a man sitting with closed eyes as Indian, and the remaining three as two black men sitting silently and a white man with curly golden hair.

“Greetings, Luo Feng. I’m Tuo Ba Yan, from the Kyoto Base City,” the Chinese man approaches and introduces himself. “From what I know, among the eight of us departing today, only you and I are from China. Oh, the lady I just spoke with, Miss Li, is from Hongning Base City.”

“Ah,” Luo Feng nods slightly, exchanges a few casual words, and then sits aside to meditate quietly.

Preparing for entry into the ancient civilization ruins…

Soon, the final eighth member arrives. The eight warriors selected by the Limit Martial Arts Gym to explore the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruins are now complete.

“Everyone, please follow me.”

Led by a man dressed in a loose red robe, Luo Feng and the other seven warriors from around the world enter a meditation chamber constructed entirely from strange purple wood. This purple wood differs from any previously seen by Luo Feng and his companions. Not only does it emit a peculiar fragrance, but it also induces an unprecedented sense of calm and mental focus.

A man in black stands inside the chamber, his back turned to Luo Feng and the others.

“Director!”

The eight of them bow slightly.

The man in black finally turns around, scanning the group with a cold gaze. “The 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin, although considered one of the less dangerous ruins, still carries a high risk of death or injury. If any of you wish to withdraw now, speak up. Once inside the ruins, there will be no turning back.”

Everyone remains silent.

“Very well,” the man in black says indifferently. “Yao Rao, come in.”

His voice echoes outward.

Whoosh!

A blurred figure materializes at the doorway. A mysterious woman wearing a black robe, a golden mask, and long flowing black hair. The mask conceals her face, revealing only her eyes, nose, and lips. Yet even so, it is evident she is an extraordinary beauty.

Especially those eyes, capable of stealing one’s soul.

“She’s a mixed-race,” Luo Feng deduces from the woman’s eyes. “Yao Rao, one of the three personal guards, truly lives up to her name.”

The three personal guards are the most loyal subordinates of the Director, “Hong.”

By constantly accompanying Hong, their strength surpasses even the average power of the five Inspectors.

“You eight will soon depart for the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin. Yao Rao will lead the team,” the man in black commands.

“Yes.”

All respond in unison.

“Luo Feng, stay. Everyone else, leave,” the man in black orders.

Soon, only Luo Feng and the man in black, “Hong,” remain inside the chamber.

“Luo Feng, you previously inquired about the Ancient Civilization Ruins through internal communications? You didn’t want to go?” Hong asks indifferently.

“Director.”

Luo Feng bows slightly. “I did make that inquiry call. At the time, I believed that entering the ‘Ancient Civilization Ruins’ and risking my life for just a Black God Suit wasn’t worth the risk. So, I was hesitant.”

“You’ve changed your mind?” Hong looks slightly surprised at Luo Feng.

“Yes.”

Luo Feng nods. “The path of pursuing the limits of life is full of obstacles. One must swim against the current!”

“Even normal people walking on the street might be struck by a car.”

“Even within a residential compound, one could be hit on the head by a falling flowerpot. Nothing in life is 100% safe!”

“I chose this path, so I must have the courage to fight. If everything were perfectly safe, it wouldn’t be challenging. It is precisely because of some danger that I feel my blood boiling with excitement and fighting spirit! Besides, they say the success rate is over 80%. What do I have to fear?” Luo Feng’s eyes gleamed with fierce determination.

Hong observes him silently, nodding inwardly.

This young man possesses great talent, but talent alone is insufficient for achieving great success.

This time, the youth clearly displays a more resilient fighting spirit than when Hong first met him—a spirit unbreakable by hammers or unshakable by torrents. To truly transcend the limits of life and become the pinnacle warrior on Earth, one must possess a fearless and unstoppable fighting spirit!

“Very well. I simply want to inform you… among the High-Level Mentalists who entered the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin, some have failed, but none have died.”

Luo Feng’s heart stirs slightly. So that’s why Hong initially encouraged him to enter, seemingly confident in his survival.

“Of course, High-Level Mentalists are rare, so the sample size is small, and we cannot guarantee 100% safety,” Hong adds. “Go and join the others.”

“Yes, Director.”

Luo Feng immediately departs.

Whoosh!

The Qiankun-class intelligent fighter tears through the sky at an astonishing speed.

Inside the cabin are the guard Yao Rao and the eight warriors.

“You may simply call me Councilwoman,” Yao Rao’s voice is pleasant to the ears, sending tingles through the heart. “Our destination is the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin. This ruin lies deep within the Amazon jungle of South America and is considered one of the less dangerous ancient ruins.”

Suddenly, the white man curiously asks, “Councilwoman, are there other ancient civilization ruins?”

“Of course!”

Though no one can see Yao Rao’s detailed facial expressions, they can see her lips slightly curl upward. “Let me tell you about one—the 1st Ancient Civilization Ruin. It was the earliest ancient ruin discovered on Earth. It lies deep beneath the ocean near the Bermuda Triangle in the North Atlantic.”

Everyone, including Luo Feng, is momentarily shocked.

The 1st Ancient Civilization Ruin? The earliest discovered?

“However, to this day, no one on Earth has found any way to enter the entrance of the 1st Ancient Civilization Ruin,” Yao Rao’s voice carries a hint of mischief. “No matter how powerful the experts or how durable the metallic weapons… anyone or anything attempting to cross the entrance is immediately destroyed!”

Luo Feng and the others fall silent.

For the 1st Ancient Civilization Ruin, even the entire human race to this day cannot even step through the entrance.

Even ‘Hong’ and ‘Thunder God’ cannot enter. It seems even materials rated at ‘SS’ or higher are destroyed upon approaching the entrance… “This place—don’t even think about it. Focus on cultivation for now,” Luo Feng silently tells himself.

“Everyone, listen carefully. I will only say this once!”

Yao Rao’s voice rises slightly.

“The 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin is an ancient trial site designed for selection and elimination. Once you enter, warriors will follow the ‘Type A Passage’ into the depths of the ruins. Mentalists will be guided along the ‘Type B Passage’ into the ruins.”

As Yao Rao speaks, everyone leans in, ears straining to catch every word.

It seems…

Mentalists and warriors are treated differently inside.

“Once deep within the ruins, each person’s experiences will vary.”

“The difficulty levels will differ!”

“However, those who succeed will receive the ruins’ reward—a Black God Suit. Those who fail will either die or be severely injured!”

Yao Rao suddenly stands, facing the control panel of the Qiankun-class fighter. “Command… 9th Ruin.”

Beep!

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Eight red beams shoot from the fighter, directly striking the communication watches on the wrists of the eight warriors. Everyone looks puzzled.

“Don’t be alarmed,” Yao Rao’s lips curl slightly, as if smiling.

“The 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin contains its own language and script, completely different from any known language or script on Earth,” Yao Rao explains. “Not understanding the language or reading the script will greatly waste your time. In the early days, when no one understood this language, some warriors spent over seven months inside the ruins before exiting.”

“Understanding the language and script will greatly enhance your efficiency.”

“Therefore, before entering, I will install a translation program into your communication watches! This program can translate the language and script of the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin into both Chinese and English. After you exit, I will personally remove the 9th Ruin language translation program.”

Five minutes later, the installation process completes.

Night falls over the Amazon jungle in South America. The Qiankun-class fighter rapidly descends from high altitude, then slowly lands.

Hua!

The cabin door opens.

Luo Feng and the other seven warriors, along with Yao Rao, step out. Surprisingly, the area around them is a barren wasteland, surrounded by endless jungle. Some monstrous beasts can be seen, though none dare approach. Suddenly, a hissing sound echoes, the ground trembles, and the earth splits apart, revealing a five-meter-wide passage leading underground.

Beep!

A silver-gray elevator rises to the surface. The elevator doors open, revealing an elderly man in a red robe.

“Councilwoman Yao Rao,” the red-robed elder bows slightly.

“Hmm.”

Yao Rao glances at the eight warriors, her lips curling upward. “Alright, quickly enter. Soon, you will step into the Ancient Civilization Ruin! Each of you will face different trials. I wish you all may survive and return!” With that, Councilwoman Yao Rao suddenly darts into the Qiankun-class fighter, which quickly ascends and departs.

“Please hurry, the 9th Ancient Civilization Ruin only opens for a limited time this year—only two hours remain,” the red-robed elder reminds them.
