Luo Feng, Yaorao, and Bingshan were dressed similarly, all wearing combat suits over their Black God Suits. Yaorao and Bingshan, however, wore golden masks. These combat suits and boots were what Luo Feng had put on inside the intelligent fighter jet after watching the battle between Hong and the Beast Emperor.
The three flew side by side above the lake.
“We should split up and explore separately,” Yaorao, the elite guard, said.
“Fine,” Bingshan replied, as cold as ever.
“Alright.”
Luo Feng also nodded in agreement.
The lake on Mist Island spanned over a hundred miles in diameter—vast territory. Furthermore, the Beast Emperor had once resided deep underground at a depth of 3,500 meters, while the lake’s average depth was only 300 meters. It was possible that the treasure remained hidden in the silt, soil layer, or rock layers beneath the lakebed. Searching for it would be extremely difficult.
Splitting up made sense to Luo Feng.
“Compared to the much larger underground rock layers, I’ll first check this lake,” Luo Feng thought, glancing into the distance. Thousands of meters away, a figure dove into the lake—another council member, clearly drawn by the treasure’s allure. “The true treasure of Mist Island is indeed tempting.”
With a splash, Luo Feng dove straight into the lake.
…
Wearing the combat suit over the Black God Suit, with the Runheaven Shuttle underfoot and eighteen blade discs circling his body ready for attack, Luo Feng was fully armed.
“I wonder what the treasure is and how to find it,” Luo Feng mused, slightly frustrated. No faction currently knew what the treasure was or how many there were. They could only search blindly. “Luckily, I’m a Mentalist. I can spread my mental power across a 200-meter radius and search!”
Mental scanning was far more effective than radar.
…
Thus, Luo Feng began his “bloody” search for treasure. The last time he came to Mist Island Lake, he nearly lost his life. Now, with a mere thought, he could effortlessly slice apart even High Rank Monster Lords. It was effortless.
In 32 minutes, Luo Feng scanned over 80% of the lake at an astonishing speed, killing over a thousand monsters and thirteen Monster Lords, including two High Rank Monster Lords. He used his mental power to collect their materials into the backpack formed by his Black God Suit.
“A Star-Level Mentalist can make money easily on Earth,” Luo Feng mused as he collected two sets of materials and abandoned the others.
“Have you found anything in the lake?” a voice came through his communication watch—it was Yaorao. “I’ve scanned about 36% of the lake and found nothing.”
“No findings at all,” Luo Feng replied. “I’ve scanned 80%.”
In terms of detection ability, Star-Level warriors were definitely superior to Warlords, as even Star-Level warriors could emit their genetic energy outward. For example, Councilor Farr surrounded himself with flames. In Jiangnan Base City, Lan Ran had once lowered the air temperature drastically, instantly freezing the fountain when she tried to stop Luo Feng from killing Li Yao.
Star-Level warriors could manipulate energy within a certain range to search for treasures.
Of course…
Star-Level Mentalists were the best at exploration, followed by Star-Level warriors, then Warlord-Level Mentalists, and finally Warlord warriors. Warlord warriors could only rely on their eyes, making them the least efficient.
“If you’ve scanned 80%, I’ve scanned 36%, and Bingshan 41%, together we’ve covered over 95%. I think we should start searching underground,” Yaorao suggested telepathically.
“I agree,” Luo Feng replied.
Whoosh!
At the same time, the three Star-Level warriors—Yaorao, Bingshan, and Luo Feng—shot upward, breaking through the water surface and flying into the air. They headed toward the Mist Island Ruins at the lake’s center.
Splash! Splash!
Luo Feng watched as several Warlord warriors leaped from their fighter jets into the lake.
“Even Warlords are here for the treasure,” Luo Feng shook his head. “At least they’re smart enough to search the island’s soil.” Warlords in the lake were practically risking their lives against Monster Lords. The lake area those Warlords had jumped into had once been a small island at the lake’s center.
But a great battle had stripped away much of the island’s surface, leaving only remnants submerged beneath the water, invisible to the naked eye.
The Warlords dove in and quickly burrowed into the soil.
Searching underground through soil and rock layers was safer, as few monsters lived there, and those that did were generally weak.
“The underground soil and rock layers are much larger and harder to explore than the lake,” Yaorao said coldly. “Same plan—we split up.”
“I’ll go first.”
Luo Feng dove straight into the lake without hesitation. Only eight or nine meters deep, he plunged into the soil and stone. Headfirst, his legs automatically extended into a cone shape, easily piercing through the earth and rock as he descended.
…
Underground, it was pitch black.
“For others, searching underground for treasure would be extremely difficult,” Luo Feng thought, spreading his mental power. Since he didn’t know what the treasure was—plant, mineral, living being, or ancient relic—it was hard to search without a target.
Three hours later, at a depth of two to three thousand meters underground, Luo Feng crashed into an underground river channel.
“This is it.”
“Last time I ate the Heart of the Thousand-Year Willow, it was beside this underground river. It brings back memories.”
“Now I’m near it again. I’ll dig a hole and rest.”
Luo Feng easily dug a small cave slightly above the underground river channel and sat cross-legged to rest. Three hours of continuous exploration, scanning a spherical area with a 200-meter radius around him, had exhausted his mind, even though his mental power was sufficient.
“What’s that smell?” Luo Feng suddenly twitched his nose while resting.
A faint aroma of rice drifted into his nostrils.
Rice?
Luo Feng’s eyes snapped open. “Treasure! It must be treasure!”
A rice aroma two to three thousand meters underground was strange—something unusual might be connected to the Mist Island treasure.
Sniffing the air, Luo Feng dove like a fish into the underground river, occasionally surfacing to sniff again. “This way! The scent is coming from this direction!” Once he confirmed the direction, Luo Feng quickly followed the underground river.
As he approached, the rice fragrance grew stronger.
Rumbling echoed as Luo Feng followed the underground river into an even wider subterranean river. It seemed the previous river was just a tributary.
“There are aquatic monsters.”
Luo Feng scanned with his mental power. “Not many, but most are quite strong.”
He wasn’t surprised.
Earlier, in the Chinese military base, Luo Feng had seen the detection map showing the lake’s average depth was 300 meters, with the deepest point nearly 1,000 meters. But those were just the main data. In reality, there were various tunnels connecting the lake and underground. For example, the Beast Emperor, with its massive size, had surged from 3,500 meters underground to the lake surface.
Moving back and forth between the lake and underground had created many deep underground tunnels. The detection map had shown many aquatic monsters in those tunnels.
So Luo Feng wasn’t surprised now.
“The scent is coming from there,” Luo Feng thought, quickly flying forward.
Whoosh!
Fifty meters away in an instant, Luo Feng hovered three meters above the wide underground river like teleportation, standing on the water’s surface, staring ahead.
Above the dark underground lake, a white translucent crystal floated in midair, faintly illuminating the darkness. The crystal emitted wave after wave of rice fragrance, making one’s mouth water. But a large group of aquatic monsters surrounded it, and one suddenly leaped up and swallowed it.
Luo Feng had just seen the white crystal when it was swallowed by an aquatic monster—an instant event.
“That’s strange.”
Luo Feng didn’t care about the loss but was puzzled. “Why didn’t the other aquatic monsters leap to fight for it? Many of them are Monster Lords, not less intelligent than humans. They wouldn’t be foolish.”
Crackling sounds echoed as the shelled aquatic monster that had swallowed the crystal began emitting white light, its body swelling. Painful roars filled the air before it exploded with a loud *BOOM!* Fragments of its corpse and blood scattered, and the white crystal floated again, still shimmering temptingly on the lake’s surface.
A group of aquatic monsters surrounded the crystal.
They all eyed it hungrily, yet none dared to swallow it.
Luo Feng inhaled sharply. The crystal looked miraculous, its aroma making mouths water, yet it was a deadly poison—swallow it, and you die.
“This lake has so many shattered corpses,” Luo Feng scanned with his mental power. “Looks like many monsters have died from swallowing it.”
Just then—
“It’s the treasure!”
“The Mist Island treasure!”
Startled voices rang out as two figures shot toward the crystal from different directions.
“It’s mine.” Luo Feng’s eyes flashed. With a thought, his mental power formed an invisible giant hand to grab it. He dared not use his real hand on such a strange object.
*BOOM!*
A white hand the size of a basin also appeared out of nowhere, grabbing the crystal. It collided with Luo Feng’s mental hand, and both shattered.
“Ro Feng, this is mine—Mohan Desen’s. Step aside now!” A harsh voice shouted in broken Chinese.
“Third Councilor, the Ice Emperor Mohan Desen?” Luo Feng recalled the name. Mohan Desen, the Ice Emperor, was one of the two Star-Level Tier 3 warriors on Earth. Born in America, he was currently the strongest warrior in the American government, known for his mastery of ice and snow powers, earning him the title of Ice Emperor.
He was a superpower, second only to Hong and Thunder God!
“This is the property of my Limitless Gym. You dare to steal it? You’re asking for death!” Luo Feng roared, immediately activating the Runheaven Shuttle in front of him, ready to unleash his ultimate move.
