Chapter 317: Noran Mountain

Inside the grand hall of the Arena.

Luo Feng and Thunder conversed casually; it was an effective way to relax.

“Luofeng, Lei!”

“Haha, it’s rare to see both of you together.” With a hearty laugh, a tall, broad-shouldered black man resembling a black bear, and a pale, red-haired youth with a slender build approached side by side.

“Breim, Heruo, come, sit.” Luo Feng waved them over.

Frequently staying in the Arena for rigorous training and chatting in the hall naturally brought them into contact with other elites who also frequented the place. Everyone understood that those who could remain in the Arena for extended periods were either exceptionally wealthy or had powerful backgrounds, destined for extraordinary futures. Making more friends meant more opportunities; when they ventured into the universe, they might rely on these friendships. Thus, everyone consciously sought friendships.

Within just a month, Luo Feng had made over thirty friends, and these two were among those closest to him.

“Hong hasn’t come out yet?” Breim boomed.

“He hasn’t come out for eight days.” Thunder replied.

“That’s intense.” Heruo couldn’t help but laugh. “By the way, I have something to tell you… recently, Breim and I probably won’t be coming to the Arena anymore.” The muscular giant, Breim, nodded beside him.

“Why’s that?” Luo Feng and Thunder were startled.

The two of them were the type who usually spent all their time in the Arena, just like Luo Feng.

“Heruo and I have been ordered by our teacher to apply to become interstellar apprentice mercenaries and to participate in the interstellar apprentice mercenary trials.” Heruo lowered his voice. “These trials are far more dangerous than regular space adventures. It’s said that the death and elimination rates are extremely high. If a month passes and either Breim or I doesn’t return to the Arena, we might have perished during the trials. We just wanted to let you know beforehand, in case we disappear and you think we’ve left without saying goodbye, which would be unkind, hahaha…”

“Is that true?”

Luo Feng and Thunder were taken aback.

Could the interstellar apprentice mercenary trials really be that extreme?

“It’s dangerous, yes, but over 99% of the Cosmic, Domain Lords, and World Lords started as mercenaries.” Heruo’s eyes gleamed fiercely. “If I don’t take this chance, I’ll just be a lowly soldier in the guard, ordered around all day. To rise above others and live freely, I must fight and battle!”

“Right.” Breim nodded firmly.

Luo Feng and Hong exchanged glances.

They had already reached the pinnacle on Earth, so they felt little pressure. Unlike Heruo and Breim, who were being specially groomed, their environment was far more pressurized. The major powers invested heavily in their training, spending vast sums of money and resources. If they failed to meet expectations, the fate of the discarded disciples could hardly be enviable.

“Heruo, Breim, is the apprentice mercenary trial really that dangerous?” Thunder asked doubtfully.

The Interstellar Mercenary Alliance was divided into Adventurers, Apprentice Mercenaries, One-Star Mercenaries, Two-Star Mercenaries, and Three-Star Mercenaries. Adventurers didn’t need to undergo trials; they could register and become Adventurers directly. However, Apprentice Mercenaries required trials, as did One-Star Mercenaries… every title had to be earned through rigorous assessment!

The Apprentice Mercenary trial could be taken by those who had reached the Star-Level.

The elimination rate was extremely high.

“It’s very dangerous.” A deep voice came from the tall, muscular Breim, his voice echoing as if from his chest. “Mercenaries live on the edge of life and death, so the Apprentice Mercenary trial, as an ‘initiation trial,’ is designed to weed out warriors and mentalists unsuited to becoming mercenaries.”

“The trial locations are always ‘Worlds of Domain Lords’ that have already been discovered and exploited.” Breim continued. “The Interstellar Mercenary Alliance will create many dangers and obstacles in these worlds, eliminating a large number of participants. While some might survive by sheer luck, the death rate remains alarmingly high.”

“A World of Domain Lords?”

Luo Feng was surprised.

He had researched the World Lords and even consulted Babata about them. In the cosmos, a Cosmic-level powerhouse was already a significant figure, while a World Lord could directly materialize their formidable domain in reality! The domain of a World Lord was incomparable to those of Hong or Thunder—it was millions of times more powerful.

As for a World Lord, they not only possessed an inner world but could also create an entire world!

Within such a world, many phenomena could be created according to the World Lord’s imagination, leading to many situations that defied common sense.

“What are you all talking about?” A voice interrupted.

The four turned their heads and saw Hong approaching, dressed in black battle armor, his whole demeanor exuding a sense of vigor and confidence. This made Luo Feng sigh inwardly… Hong was indeed a monster, repeatedly engaging in extreme battles that would leave most people exhausted. Yet Hong seemed immune to fatigue.

“Just heard you mention a high mortality rate?” Hong also pulled up a chair and sat down.

“It’s about the interstellar apprentice mercenary trials.” Thunder explained.

“Has the instructor come?” Breim’s deep voice sounded.

“Instructor?” Heruo also looked toward the entrance of the hall and immediately saw three figures approaching, one of whom was their instructor. Breim and Heruo immediately put down their legs and became more serious.

“Is that the Cosmic-level instructor Quincey you mentioned earlier?” Thunder muttered.

“Which one?” Luo Feng also looked curiously.

Heruo whispered, “The bald one in the green battle armor.” Fortunately, in the virtual universe, everyone’s strength was fixed at the ‘low-level warrior’ level. Although one could have their strength detected and recognized by the virtual universe, only in special circumstances, such as the ‘Killing Space,’ could one display strength equivalent to that in reality.

Under ordinary circumstances, whether it was the common folk or the immortal elites, everyone’s physical prowess remained at the level of a low-tier warrior.

Fortunately, the Cosmic-level instructor was now physically weak, and his hearing was not good enough to catch the word ‘bald,’ or else he would surely give his batch of elite students a harsh lesson for using such a term.

“Bald?” Luo Feng looked carefully.

Three figures were walking side by side in the distance, two of whom were bald—one wearing green battle armor and the other in dark gray. As for the third person… his ears were pointed, and his eyes were slightly red…

“Hmm?” Luo Feng’s pupils narrowed. “That person looks a lot like someone from the Noranshan family!”

The person from the Noranshan family in the distance seemed to have also noticed Luo Feng and was staring back.

The two gazed at each other from afar!

Like a confrontation between a needle’s tip and a wheat awn!

“Mr. Noranshan, what are you looking at?” The interstellar mercenary Quincey turned his head in confusion and then smiled. “Oh, there are two who are my students.”

“Your students?”

Noranshan’s cold eyes glanced over. “Is that the young man in the red battle armor with black hair?”

“No, I don’t know that young man.” Quincey shook his head. Another bald interstellar mercenary beside him said, “Of those five, the big black guy and the red-haired kid are elite students in our organization. The other three, I don’t know.”

“As long as they’re not from Northern Dragon City.” Noranshan’s eyes were cold.

When he saw Luo Feng, Hong, and Thunder, he recognized immediately—the black-haired young man in the red battle armor was the Earth Lord from the live broadcast video on Earth—Luo Feng! Noranshan immediately felt a surge of anger rising from his heart, rushing to his head!

He, the warrior with the ‘Axe Master’ title!

What a heavy slaughter record he had?

He directly controlled over 1000 inhabited planets, with countless powerful subordinates under his command. He hadn’t felt such a sense of defeat in a long time. Yet in the Earth incident, he had indeed suffered a setback.

“Mr. Noranshan.” The two interstellar mercenaries looked at Noranshan in confusion.

Yet Noranshan marched straight toward Luo Feng without hesitation. The two cosmic mercenaries trailed closely in his wake—they had matters to discuss with him… For even among cosmic-level powerhouses, a strict hierarchy existed. As a ninth-tier cosmic warrior bearing the title of Axe Sovereign, Noranshan’s status was unquestionably exalted!

Although the hall was vast, it still had tens of thousands of guests.

A man with an axe badge on his chest and two others with one-star mercenary badges indeed attracted many gazes. The three strode rapidly toward Luo Feng’s table.

“Hmm?” Luo Feng slightly furrowed his brow.

“Instructor!”

Heruo and Breim quickly stood up. Hong and Thunder, however, glanced at Noranshan and whispered in confusion, “Luo Feng, that person looks a lot like someone from the Noranshan family.”

“He probably means no good.” Luo Feng narrowed his eyes.

Moments later—

Clap!

The sound of boots clashing echoed as three cosmic-level powerhouses stood before Luo Feng’s table.

“Greetings, instructors.” Heruo and Breim saluted respectfully.

“Hmm.” The two bald instructors nodded slightly but turned their attention to Noranshan. Noranshan stood there, looking down at the seated Luo Feng with icy eyes. “Are you Luo Feng?”

“Yes!” Luo Feng looked up at him.

“Is that planet yours?” Noranshan asked the second question, without mentioning Earth’s name.

Luo Feng smirked. “Yes!”

“Sell it to me.” Noranshan’s cold eyes fixed on Luo Feng. “Name your price.”

Luo Feng shook his head slightly.

“One hundred billion Qianwu coins?” Noranshan offered.

“No deal.” Luo Feng didn’t hesitate at all.

“One thousand billion Qianwu coins!” Noranshan raised his offer.

“I said… no deal, no matter what price you name.” Luo Feng stared at Noranshan. Beside him, Hong and Thunder also calmly looked at this man.

The two interstellar mercenaries were greatly surprised. Noranshan had come directly, wanting to buy the young man’s planet, and the price was astonishing. One hundred billion Qianwu coins were enough to buy a top-tier inhabited planet, and then he immediately offered one thousand billion Qianwu coins—a price so exorbitant, what kind of planet could be worth such a sum?

Even for Noranshan, coming up with such a sum would be a significant challenge.

“You’re provoking me!” Noranshan narrowed his eyes, like a venomous snake staring at the young man. “Young man, I don’t have a good temper, but today I’m giving you a chance… transfer the planet under your name to me, and we’ll settle all our grudges.”

“My planet to you?” Luo Feng grinned.

Was that possible?

Earth was the home of countless Earthlings. To others, it might have a price, but to Earthlings, it was priceless!

“Sorry, no drink for you.” Luo Feng slightly raised his cup and downed it in one go.

Noranshan’s face immediately turned even darker.

Luo Feng, Hong, and Thunder didn’t even spare him a glance.

“Come on, big brother, second brother, let’s drink.” Luo Feng raised his cup.

“Cheers.” Hong smiled.

“Bottoms up.” Thunder added.

The three completely ignored the presence of Noranshan, the warrior with the Axe Master title standing beside them, treating him like thin air. If this were in the real world… they would probably flee as soon as they saw Noranshan from afar, running as far as possible. But in this virtual universe, who would be afraid of whom?
